We had a very big portion of a carvery here, very tasty and stuffed at the end of it. Also in the bar area there was very good service from the Russian bar manager who looked after us and all the other staff members were polite and friendly.

This place is a real find.
Right in the heart of the city, clean room, huge TV, decent bed, friendly staff, and a bath taboot (what joy).
Add to that, a member of staff actually knocked on my door to see if everything was ok!!
That has never happened to me before. And lve stayed in a lot of hotels.
And all this for 69 euro.
Sure the decor is a bit 80's, and the lift really didn't like me. But that's minor, irrelevant stuff.
I would definitely recommend.

We booked 4 rooms. From the very beginning to the end was a great experience. What value for money. Staff excellent, large rooms with large bathrooms very clean and comfortable. Food was excellent. Fantastic location. You could'nt ask for more

Food is good but very slow service. Had to leave. Not possible to have lunch on 1/2 hr lunch break. You need 1 hour to be comfortable and not rushing as it take 20 minutes to be served. So that leaves you with 5 minutes to gobble down the food and 5 minutes to get back to work.

Basic hotell in the city center, right next to the christmas market. Parking in the nearby parking house with discount code from the Hotell. Room was cosy and rather big. Bathroom with bath tub was in a good shape. We managed to use our chromecast in tv after couple of tricks. Wall-to-wall carpet is not good with hygiene and allergies. Breakfast was not included, so we didn't try the restaurant.

Stayed here for one night on 15th of November. I found the hotel to be very good value for money, especially considering it's central location. The bar downstairs was ok and staff were friendly. I'd definitely recommend The Imperial to anyone looking to stay in the area
G. O.
Superb. The staff were so helpful and friendly. They couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were so comfortable and so clean.. The air conditioning was a life saver as temperatures at night were tropical ! Thanks to everyone there who made our stay extra special .
A. M. D.
Lovely clean hotel, right in centre eyer Square, staff helpful, enjoyed my stay, an will b back,, only fault was no heating in room, was on for a while in afternoon, an never came on again evening or all night bit cold for this time year .
S. J.
Stayed for a night here. Cozy and comfortable room with a spacious bathroom with all basic amenities. Good value for money. Special mention for their cleanliness standards.

My husband and I used this restaurant about 2 weeks ago
Having searched the high street for a place to eat in a safe environment we found this wonderful
Restaurant …
On arrival we were asked for our Covid certs and identification which were looked at thoroughly we were then shown to a seat , it was bright, clean and well spaced put .
The food was wonderful the staff were so helpful and certainly knew their job
If you want to eat in a safe environment then this is the place to go to we knew that every diner in that restaurant and for that matter any guest staying had shown their Covid certs backed up by ID
Thus establishment know what has to be done and they do it
Thank you to the imperial hotel

Stayed for 2 nights the hotel was so clean, my room was massive only thing the walls are paper thin I felt I was in the room next to me, u can hear everything

Had a great stay. Hotel very central, reasonable priced, staff were polite and helpful and food was good 😊 Will be back.

Amazing carvery lunch here, lovely friendly staff. Comfortable seating, warm decor. I will be back, definitely.

Rooms are a good size and clean. Bathrooms recently renovated, good shower. Not a ton of light in the rooms. Bar was recently renovated and had a surprisingly good Guinness and good food. Staff where great.
S. S.
Food could be a lot better. Very convenient location. I think the interior of the whole place could use renovation. The layout of the building is somewhat mazelike.

Havnt been in Imperial since the revamp. IT LOOKS FAB-U-LOUS!!!! Great ambiance and we were there in the afternoon.I had turkey dinner and my daughter had fish and chips .Great portions and great service.
M. S.
Absolutely lovely but blub and subtitles and sound up and down all the time but Absolutely beautiful bed sleeping zzzzzzzzz lovely warm 😴 😀
M. F.
Food fabulous great value for money not a fan of the change of moving the bar and lighting down the back area not as welcoming as the front area
P. C.

L. M. C.
Such excellent, friendly, attentive staff, great vibe, rooms immaculate, perfect location. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for my daughters hen weekend
M. C.
My husband and I stayed there for two nights, 17 and 18 june 2021. We had no hot water in the bedroom , the manager John came up, offered to change our room, the boiler was not turned on it was rectified within an half an hour.
My meal that evening , my meal of chicken gujons was inedible, again John saw that I had not eaten , he said I would not be charged and gave us free deserts. I would certainly recommend the Imperial hotel to stay in.

Could not fault the hotel at all, staff so friendly, always greeted as we came back to the hotel by the front desk, rooms are spotless clean, middle of eyre square everywhere within walking distance, hotel is laid back so if your with a group and want to have fun this is the hotel to go, would highly recommend and will 100% stay here again
M. M.
Pleasant and convenient hotel with pleasant staff also, reasonably priced in Eyre square Galway
A. A.
Some of the receptionists weren't the most pleasant people. But a good hotel with a great location, nonetheless.
M. O.
Continued,,,the reason I gave it 4 ...is because ye have the most disgusting cheap orange juice kulana,,we have it in work,,awful concentrated stuff..google it,,,it should be good freshly squeezed OJ,,or a good name like tropicana....kulana is very bad for you
D. H.
Great hotel with lovely staff and comfortable rooms. Located in the middle of eyre Square. Hotel restaurant and bar are also spot on.
K. M.

A. W.
Excellent place..I had a great experience
I'll be back within the month and that's a fact 💯
S. M.
The staff were so friendly when we checked in. They even minded our luggage as our room wasn’t ready. The rooms were lovely and clean and the bathroom had both a bath and shower which I loved. The beds were cosy and so easy to fall asleep on and there were smart TVs as well as adjustable heating/ac. There is a lovely lounge and smoking area on the first floor. The food in the restaurant was really good and our waiters were lovely. I don’t have anything bad to say about my stay - thank you to the Imperial Hotel for making it so great :)
M. C.
I would give five stars as I find staff food rooms and service great in this hotel and they are very reasonable priced for the service they supply will be staying again soon
E. H.
Very enjoyable stay. Warm and comfortable room.
T. D.
Beautiful cosy atmosphere, Great food, very helpful and friendly staff
S. P.
The hotel is located next to Eyre Square which is quite convenient for shopping, food, shops, pubs and bus stop. The largest Supermac in Ireland is adjacent to the hotel. Hotel has a good restaurant. I loved the breakfast but the dinner wasn't as promising. Staffs were very lovely and helpful. The rooms were clean and good amenities.
d. n.
Great hotel and very clean. Lovely staff.
T. K.
Good food and great amount on your plate.
M. H.
Lovely to see it open again my favourite place to eat when I visit Galway
J. D.
Fantastic service, staff are always friendly apart from the grumpy grey haired bar man,he has no etiquette. Everyone else is sound, enjoy my stay. Table service for meals- David- spot on! Been coming here a few years and cannot fault any of the hotel! Or staff
J. J.

B. M.
Very friend ly great athmosphere and good service
L.
Modern hotel with old style top notch service. Right at the heart of the city
E. F.
I've had christings, coummions and confirmations here, not only have you friendly staff willing to help u out with anything but there food is unreal even dwn to there desserts. Can't go wrong with the place. They also do breakfast and lunch always a perfect time to go there
V. B.
Very friendly staff. Enjoyed my continental breakfast very much. The hotel is old but very clean. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. It's also close to everything. 2 minutes from bus station.
O. L.
Excellent hotel for the price. It's in a great location and it's very clean. The rooms feel a bit dated, they're on the small side and the views aren't great, but it's very cheap for the quality, location and service. The staff were very nice. This is ideal for a city break, rather than a destination hotel.
j. b.
Friendly staff and very helpful. Place was clean and great area, right in city centre close to everything for such a reasonable price. Great stay!
T. J.
Just got back from a few days at this hotel with 3 sisters and an aunt. Cannot praise this hotel enough. Rooms were generous size, very clean, and lovely bathroom with great bath and hot powerful shower. The continental breakfast was brilliant, all staff very friendly. Hotel is very central to all shops pubs and restaurants. Will definitely stay here again
when re-visiting Galway. excellent value for money. Thank you to all.
Ł. M.
Floor was wet and smells like beer, we found some chocholate bars and another thing, it was little ... Personel was helpful, very good location, mattress are comfortable :)
A. D.
The location of the hotel was great. Near the train station and right in Eyre Square. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and a lovely size. Food was lovely. Would stay again
T. B.
Nice rooms, usually no wait for an elevator. Bar and restaurant had good selections. Run of the mill buffet breakfast. Close to the city center. The Skeff Pub across the street by the park is an excellent place for an afternoon coffee or tea, and the dinners are excellent.
B. R.
Well situated hotel. Near everything. Food good. Staff on the other hand could be a bit more customer friendly. Lady in breakfast room and one of the female receptionists were excellent. Lady in breakfast went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Restaurant staff on the other hand were not as customer focused. However we enjoyed our stay.
A. Z.
The room was lovely but the amount of parties and loud guests all around us. It was very annoying trying to get some sleep. Girl at the front desk was very friendly
j. m. c.
Staff fantastic. Perfect location for nights out
E. W.
Location was great - perfect, really. Price was ok. The hotel itself was comfortable, but not incredibly clean. The room was very large! We slept comfortably (first King bed of our trip), but a few things kept me at 3 stars. Ripped comforter, cobwebs on the lamp, scratches/dirty spots on the walls. We went down to the hotel bar but then actually left -- dirty menus, stained chairs -- decided we'd rather go out and spend money somewhere that was cleaner. I'm not a clean freak, but this bothered me a bit.
K. M.
No frills hotel in the middle of town. Some nights were quiet, but others (especially on the weekend) there was quite a lot of noise from nearby pubs and people staying on our floor. Rooms cleaned daily, and were quite large, but a bit dated overall. Would probably try to book further out of town next time as Galway is very small and walkable.
E. M.
Love food, very filling!!
T. R.
Convenient location right at the end eyre square and shop street. Front desk was helpful and friendly. Parking is NOT at the hotel but the hotel has arranged with parking garage about a five minute walk. Little confusing to find it in the dark. Hotel is old but maintained, Room was simple and clean. Complimentary breakfast was very good .. fresh and delicious.
M. W.
I had lunch here at Imperial Hotel whilst on shopping trip to Galway. The carvery is very good giving lots of options, good portions and cost only 11euro. Very good value I feel. It was very busy there but was during Black Friday weekend so to be expected.
P. A. S. V.
I highly recommend this hotel for several reasons. Facilities are pristine, breakfast and staff is lovely, carvery delicious, rooms are perfect and reception staff are unbeatable! They have shown generosity, humanity, willing to help and to listen to customers problems. Thank you very much for everything.
G. M.
Lovely hotel staff were lovely
M. A.
I was going to give this a 5 star review, but I was rudely greeted by an older staff member who was lazing about on the couch, I said hello and as my partner and his family and I walked to reception and he jumped up and in an angry tone yelled: ” we are booked out”...
The way he said it was really rude, and you can’t treat any guest like that whether or not they have a booking or not.
I rudely told the man that I had made a booking online. His tone changed and I don’t think he liked being spoken to like that.
I asked if they could hold my bag because check in wasn’t until 2pm so they just put my bag behind the counter and didn’t lock it up or put it away out of other visitors sight.
The rooms are decent size, very clean and the beds are super comfy.
There’s no shampoo and conditioner just body wash.
The other staff that I encountered were all very lovely.
N. P.
Nice and big room. Right in City center, near Shop Street. Was cold and sunny day, so, was plenty of people... And lots homeless... Pity in a such a beautiful area so many problems.
Anyway, hotel was nice, and bed was comfortable... One thing - you can hear everything from a room next to yours...
N. B.
Was there last week. Had trouble finding a room elsewhere but tried Imperial hotel and they really helped me. As a first time solo traveller I managed to get a room for 3 nights. Really local for what ever you are after. food fantastic, rooms spotless and late bar for late night tipple. Was so good I've booked again for my next trip.
A. B.
Just got home from a night in this hotel. Lovely large spotless room with a great view over Eire square. I was worried what it would be like after reading some of the reviews. I had no need to worry.I never heard a sound from other quests or from outside.. The continental breakfast was very good with a very wide range of choice. Beds lovely and comfy. If I had to find a fault it would be because I hadn't booked a second night.
S. D.
Had dinner here on Saturday night for a hen party and the food was amazing 😁 I couldn't eat as much as I wanted as I wasn't in the best state from the night before.
ROSS are waiter was lovely when we came in 😁 also ROSS asked me was I hungover I said yes so he went and got me a red bull, a glass of water and told me to drink them really quick and I would feel better in half hour "I did" give that man a pay rise because he deserve it and he brought me back to life 😁 thank you
D. M.
avearge room for an outrages price, staff were nice hotel was clean no car park you have to park at the local shopping Centre
S. M.
Is a good hotel in Galway to stay and their restaurant there are food all the time as a self service to eat. Good price and good services to stay for short periods. Near of bus station and office to get buses to go to Aran Island.
L. T.
Loved it .Only problem no hash brown's at breakfast
P. F.
Absolutely fantastic hotel ,great location and wonderful staff. Had to check out early due to family bereavement and was not charged....will definitely be back
c. o.
Just an opinion if they improve the WiFi and give a good breakfast
P. K.
Had a nice meal, well served by efficient and friendly staff. My one disappointment was frozen chips and onion rings served with a €25 steak.
S. G.
Food was good, but onion on foods without being listed which I hate. Service poor. Staff member walked away mid order and we were sat for a while waiting for menus when staff did not appear busy.
C. m.
A hotel should be quiet, dark, comfy, good shower and breakfast. Noise not too bad but still the stumble in's after kicking out time. Shower passable but pressure poor, especially if you like it more than like warm and although I didn't need it the additional shower head thing didn't work right. Breakfast continental only, ok but below average. I'd stay again as decent value compared to there in Galway but not going to be top of my list
N. S.
Great hotel, value for money
A. C.
Nice rooms, very clean and well kept. Great location in Galway for all ages. Only about a 5 minute walk to the bus station. The rooms and furniture seemed vintage, but still very nice and clean.
C. Q.
Hotel was much better than we expeccted, very comfortable room, i was not expecting much from the continental breakfast but it exceeded our expectations, with a gluten free option and various milk options, even had a fresh pancake maker, was a nice touch. Hotel was on Eyre square and the tour busses are right next to it. Lots of surrounding pubs and restaurants. Would definitely recommend as a cheaper option
J. O.
Staff very friendly and room is extremely big and comfortable. There's a desk and sitting area, a closet, tub with a shower and a good TV. Right off Eyre Square and close to some nice attractions. Take the tour to Conamerra and Cong. Hotel will sell you a ticket and they'll pick you up at the hotel. Prob ably the nicest hotel I've stayed in while I've been in Ireland.
T. D.
Had a very comfortable stay here, the room was very clean and spacious, very central hotel, it's right in the heart of the City.
E. M.
Fully happy with my stay. Friendly staff, lovely room and great breakfast. Can't ask for much better to be honest
M. O. C.
Great food, I think it was the best veg soup I ever had. And it's very reasonably priced. All the staff were so lovely and helpful. Will 100% be coming here again.
s. d.
I had a 2 night stay very clean and quiet where I was . It is it's location that makes it for me so hand to shop street and Eyre Square . The bar area is nice and served late . Nice food in the restaurant. Check In and out was very painless and parking was the only draw back there is none .
K. W.
Food delicious and staff great
T. M.
Great location, handy for everything in Galway. No AC though and it can get noisy with the window open. Hotel is clean and the beds are fine though not great.
k. s.
Definitely be back staff very friendly and accommodating provided a lovely cake 4 my sister in law 50th birthday
M. P.
Great location, but quite noisy and old fashioned hotel. Would need a renovation. OK value for money, but there are better options. Staff was helpful, breakfast also OK.
M. M.
I love this hotel. It's only steps to shop street where you're spoilt for choice of restaurants coffee shops and bars. The shops are fabulous and no need to carry all your bags for too long as hotel is only a hop and a skip away.😁 will definitely be back.
K. S.
Used to be a great spot for food :-(
s. m.
Great location right in the heart of the city. very nice room's
a bar downstairs that serves good bar food.
I would recommend for a night away or maybe a weekend stay if your looking for a base to explore the city
S. C.
Hotel had odd layout, but staff was friendly, and continental breakfast was included. Rooms were clean. No frills, but good place to sleep for a night.
F. H.
Very nice, very central, staff very professional. The room was everything I needed, wifi was good, some of the tv channels were properly tuned in and even though I have not spent I full night here yet I believe I would come back.
H. M.
Great location, but slightly weird vibe. Getting to our room was like walking through a maze, and the big bed was actually two single beds pushed together. Nice bathroom though.
A. H.
Im not sure I am being fair with only 4 stars. The only reason I do that is because the parking was kind of a hassle, but I dont think there is anything they could do about it, or do I think anyone in the same area could do any better. Fine breakfast, great staff, clean rooms that are spacious. Great value!
J. C.
I love the imperial hotel, because the staff are friendly and helpful. The carvery serves delicious food at lunch time.
E. S.
A very lovely room. A very good bed, i slept like a log. I think i will come back again
J. K.
Asked for a view of Eyre Square for Christmas market and got it
Lift broken so left to walk up two flights of stairs
Older hotel in need of some TLC(I think some rooms have received it)
Friendly and helpful staff
Can't fault location and no noise thanks to dual window's
Best hotel WiFi I've ever had
R. J.
Amazing food and customer service!! Super friendly staff, best restaurant I've ever been to by far!! 😁
D. V.
About their kitchen I could say they are clean and delicious food. 🥘
A. M.
The staff are so nice at first the room they put me and my fiance in wasn't suitable for my wheelchair but they sorted us out straight away without any problems which was very good you wouldn't get the sort of service anywhere else that we got there they are so nice and helpful
T. H.
Great location close to bars and restaurants. I stay in a triple room. The room had lots of space and the bathroom wasn't bad . The beds were also comfortable.
Would definitely recommend.
p. G.
Had a lovely stay here room was a good size, good big bed. Breakfast was very surprisingly tasty for a continental breakfast! Would stay here again when in town!
D. O. B.
Had an over night stay here at the weekend. The hotel is perfectly situated in Eyres Square so central for the city. Not the poshest hotel in the world but clean and good food. I would recommend it
K. S.
Return visitor to this hotel. Can't get any more central. Staff food and rooms all great for a weekend away. Recommended
C. B.
Newly renovated rooms. Loved the tub, the food was great. The breakfast room was a little small for the number of people eating.
M. G.
Great location at the start of the pedestrian walk to the pub's and entrance to the park and shopping mall. Room was big. Beds are hard but seems common in Ireland and the UK
M. O.
Our convenient place in town for coffee and scones, late breakfast or lunch. Hearty chowder with brown bread. Always served with a smile and a chat.
M. L.
Great food .Staff very friendly. Very spacious. Great atmosphere & a good place to meet friends for a chat
B. K.
Lovely place to stay..staff were so nice. Couldn't recommend it enough. Will definitely stay dere again..
E. W.
Will return. Nice hotel.
G. k.
Great hotel just a few annoyances.. Had to run hot tap in Bath to get hit water in shower and the receptionist when checking out lacked any personality... Other than that great hotel...
B. M.
Stayed 2 nights. Right in the heart of Eyre Square, location is excellent, room was enormous and a bit dated...could have done without the early morning dumping of recycled glass into the dumpster.
K. R.
Big rooms and bathroom. Choices for breakfast range was limited and there was limited space. However, the staff were friendly and the hotel is in a great location.
J. M.
We really enjoyed our stay. We liked the updated bathrooms, the bed is comfortable, and Galway is a fun town
A. J.
Best place for a cuppa and some grub . Staff is so friendly food is gorgeous the atmosphere is so nice and so relaxing in there I love how it's so spacious inside highly recommend this place to anyone
C.
Carvery dinner wasn't great. The Bolognese had a really overpowering garlic taste ad was gritty. The curry was watery.
M. K.
We had lovely lunch in th hotel .staff were very friendly and food was delicious .its one of our favourite places for a relaxed lunch..
A. B.
Rooms are nice and seafood chowder quite nice. would have appreciated shampoo.

The staff was nice but parking is very far away and had little space to unload so we had a five minute walk thruthe city with our luggage and had to pay for parking.
J. Q.

A. B.

Very nice
J. V.
It’s in good location but there the reception isn’t to good because they don’t give to you a good treatment and I tell it don’t because I went there just once but every weekend and every time it was the same...because it I gave only three stars.
c. b.
Very comfortable hotel ,great value , will definitely be staying here again .

Central hotel in Galway City.
Pros: Short walk home after a night out.
Cons: It can be very loud and rooms can be cold

One of the big bugs I have is that the wifi is no good. Please don't advertise wifi if it is is so inconsistent as to be useless

(Translated) The staff were friendly, the social distancing and use of face masks was maintained.
The wonderful, clean, fragrant room, the spacious and comfortable spaces and the very comfortable beds.
I had the opportunity to eat in their restaurant and even there I found myself very well both for the kindness, friendliness and friendliness of the staff, Marko was our waiter, both for the quality of the food and the quality and price ratio.
I thank the staff of the whole hotel for their high professionalism and efficiency.

(Translated) The hotel is in a very central location that allows you to get around Galway city center on foot. There is a car park, but the hotel has an agreement with the nearby (5 minutes walk) Parking Qpark for which you will be asked 11,50 per day to park your car.
The front desk staff was courteous, the property is dated and "refreshed" by superficial restructuring that nevertheless they reveal the years of the building. It had probably been recently painted, because there was too much paint smell in the corridors.
The room was very large, but beyond small details overlooked (the edge peeling around the light switch, the column with the missing plaster in some places), was fairly clean (the window that overlooked the bins was not the maximum visual but okay!)
Two things bothered me a lot about the room: there was a column right in front of the bed that prevented those lying on the left from the bed from watching TV and the radiator in the bathroom was made of a material that burned you in the instant in where you touched. The bathroom itself was very nice, large and clean, with a very comfortable shower.
But the breakfast was the most sore point: while all other hotels in the same band (and also the b & b at the roadside!) Offer the Full Irish breakfast - eggs, sausage, pudding, etc. - here there is only a continental breakfast, or the classic buffet. The Full Irish have to pay 5 euro more per person each morning - and I could also do it - but serve only from 9:30 am in the bar area downstairs.
So how do you do it? I have to wait 9.30am for breakfast? And if I wanted normal and my partner Full Irish we had breakfast in two different places?
The lady in the breakfast room he said "Eh .. you can have breakfast here and then 9:30 to go there" (and it was 8 in the morning ..)
Also the breakfast area is poorly maintained: crumbs everywhere, saucers soiled by others and combined with those clean, I even found a piece of pineapple in my plain yogurt (luckily are not allergic). The staff who is leaning against the counter with the sink with the crockery inside in plain sight and that bites her nails while you eat your breakfast certainly did not improve the situation ..
To conclude: nothing serious, but for several nights I would look for another structure.
(Original)

(Translated) The room was adequate, too bad the heating regulator did not work better.
The most disappointing thing about this hotel was the lunch. The display has never been washed. I felt like I was in a chicken coop .... Normal all the guests from all the rooms were crammed into one and the same place, barely smaller than my living room and dining room together at home. This is to tell you.
So sleep ok although the hygiene of the room was still limited, especially in terms of the shower head but do not take the lunch option, it is a guaranteed disappointment.
(Original)

Personale gentile

(Translated) Central hotel with somewhat outdated facilities. Very well attended by friendly staff, although there is a lack of knowledge of Spanish in the reception staff. Parking a bit away from the hotel. Breakfasts very well assorted. The location is very good and close to it the old area and the harbor are located.
(Original)

(Translated) A good restaurant. The pork chops are delicious even if there was a bit of fat. Not a lot of choice but there is something for everyone.
The price is really very advantageous - 15 € for 2 people.
The setting is adequate.
The staff is very friendly. Note, however, that this is a self catering service, which is therefore perfect for people in a hurry who don't have much time to spend in Galway.
Another advantage is the fact that we can eat outside the usual hours for meals.
(Original)
