Very nice hotel... quaint with lots of old furniture... some might suggest that it needs updating but its steeped in character. Our room was a little on the small side compared to others but we took it on special offer so I can't complain. The breakfast was great and the staff were friendly. Small negative was that they used the restaurant area as a bar and it was a bit soulless and lacking atmosphere.

The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. My partner booked the suite for us as a surprise for a big birthday of mine. Everything was good bar the breakfast. I got the full Irish and the whole thing apart from the egg was reheated and not fresh and so it was rubbery and not nice at all. For the price of the hotel stay and breakfast I would expect a fresh meal to come out. Also there is no way it was as it came out 5 minutes after ordering. Do not pay for the breakfast here !
Also you have to wait for hot water to heat up which is not feasible in a hotel.

I booked the Hardiman Hotel several weeks in advance. Upon arrival on the 21st each member of staff was polite, courteous and very pleasant. The hotel and services were exemplary, and to cap it off we received a serious discount to thank us for staying with them over the difficult year. Would highly recommend and will be returning.

Stayed here for sisters wedding. Staff were amazingly helpful. The room we stayed in was super clean. We parked in the carpark near by at the train station, it was great 24 hour rate. Very short walk to the hotel. Service was excellent at the wedding. Food was tasty.

Lovely Staff, so polite and friendly. Attended a wedding here. Food delicious and well presented. Only fault I had was Ladies Toilets were upstairs, an accident waiting to happen I fear

Beautiful hotel. Fantastic service. Very nice bar. Nice place to lay low and tuck away into a cushy couch for a nice glass of wine late on a Sunday.

Beautiful suite on the corner overlooking Eyres Square. A russet grey view over the Square this time of year makes an interesting view from this original feature room. Giant architraves and skirting adorn the tall walls of this high ceilinged room which all adds to the air of Granddess. The sound of the city is blocked remarkably well with the period windows (as well as an indiscreet inner glass screen that slides over them).
Had a lovely short stay here. Very relaxing. Great all round. Room/bathroom exceedingly clean. Food was excellent.
Would highly recommend.

This place was magical. We had to leave early for the Aran Islands one morning; not only did they already have the car pulled around when we went downstairs, but they also packed up some croissants and coffee for the drive. Wonderful service!

Place was fabulous always wanted to stay here which we did eventually and and can't find any faults

I had high expectations for this hotel, treating ourselves to a suite to celebrate our anniversary. I've been left pretty disappointed in some parts.
First, the room was really nice, very spacious and lovely views. What you aren't told is the 5am wake up call from the railway station and every other speaker announcement for trains leaving. The furniture looks nice but I never found them comfortable to sit in.
The room looks recently renovated but they have put the old bed back in or it sorely needs replacing. The pillows and mattress were lumpy and I never felt like I was sleeping flat with worn dips in it.
The bathroom is like going back in time, clearly in need of renovating but functional. It is an old building. I just would have thought when a room is renovated, you do all of it There aren't any USB points and the tv has plenty of channels but the TV guide doesn't work.
As with other hotels, breakfasts are limiting the numbers and you are asked to pre-book. The times available where all before 8.45am so we decided to use the room service option. This was really very good, well thought out packed food; brought to the door on time, hot and fresh. This was lovely as we had the suite and a table overlooking a view out to sea.
Overall, I would probably return but I would make sure the whole room was renovated. Not because I'm precious but it's just not worth the money. Paying nearly €200, I would expect both a lovely room and bathroom.

Not the friendliest or staff at reception.
Room not great.
Service at breakfast not great.
Will I go back again oh no no no
I'll leave it at that.

Love hotel, staff are very helpfull and friendly, food is lovely, reccomend it to anyone big time..

Myself and my girlfriend decided to have a weekend away and I must say the room and the staff were incredible. The reception staff were welcoming and very attentive.
The restaurant staff were very polite and accommodating, especially the waiter we had during dinner. He was so kind and hard-working and deserves the recognition. Unfortunately I can't recall his name but he was an absolute gem.
The room was immaculate and both my girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay!!

Need to update their network security. WEP standard available which is now deprecated. Practically an open network. Not good.

Beautiful area, lovely hotel, staff were really nice too.
Can't beat Galway, love it 💓

The Hardiman is an amazing hotel from the minute you arrive. The front desk staff are very professional, you are made to feel very welcome. In the foyer there is lots of comfortable seating where you can sit & relax or enjoy tea/coffee with a snack or lunch. Food is also served in the main restaurant, times need to be booked so staff can manage numbers etc. Breakfast is served at your table, wide menu choice. Bedrooms are spacious with very comfortable large beds. Sanitizing pack of masks, sanitizing gel & wipes. In the bathroom there is also a pack shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, shower cap & bar soap. Items - tea/coffee making, iron, hairdryer etc. all available from the front desk. In the current climate I felt very safe, no stone left unturned to ensure guests are very well looked after by all the amazing, friendly, helpful staff. There is also lots of stations with sanitizing gel which is very good quality, doesn't dry out your hands. I am looking forward to returning in next few weeks.

we had a lovely stay at the Hardiman. service was excellent. I missed the piano player on Sunday afternoon but my friend really enjoyed it. I loved my scrambled egg wrap for breakfast, the menu was unusual & really good. I forgot a jacket & got a call within 10 mins of leaving. Top class service. Pity we only got to stay one night.

Had a great stay in The Harriman. Slap bang in the centre of Galway city! Rooms are beautiful & the food was fab. Great precautions in place for Covid 19 with hand sanitising stations throughout the hotel. Gearoid on reception was a great first point of contact & a credit to the hotel! He made us feel extremely welcome & was so helpful!!

Hardiman Excellence
Had a great stay in The Hardiman. Super location in the centre of Galway city looking out onto Eyre Square. Fabulous welcome by Colm in reception, very professional guy who showed us around. Rooms are beautiful, spacious and very clean. The old character of the building is well maintained. The food was superb, Alanna who took our food order has great knowledge of wines and she loves her job. Kevin who served us both our dinner and also breakfast was very helpful, nothing was a problem. Great precautions in place for Covid 19 with hand sanitising stations throughout the hotel. All staff we met are a credit to the hotel! They made us feel extremely welcome & take customer experience to a new level.
Highly recommend the experience and we’ll be back.

I stayed there for two days and had a wonderful experience. The room I stayed in had proper heating and updated design. Two of my colleagues had older rooms with inadequately heated hot water heating system. The checking and checkout experience was smooth. The price was very reasonable. The breakfast and service was exceptional. I had fish and Irish breakfast both days. I would definitely stay here again when I come back to Galway.

A bit of an issue with mask non compliance and speakers but not their fault and dealt with immediately
F. D.
Our stay was fine and the room was also fairly spacious and facing onto Eyre Square. The spa and facilities were excellent. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Our only criticism is that sometimes, especially in the dining room, staff seemed to be scarce. Also, the menu didn't vary in the three days we were there. One big disappointment was a sandwich we ordered which on the menu appeared to be fresh and homemade, however, when it was served, it contained a slice of packaged ham and a slice of packaged cheese, a large amount of greenery and two slices of tomato, all served between two thick and pretty average sourdough bread, the cost per sandwich was €12.50! pretty outrageous given the dismal quality of the food. Much better sandwiches served in any pub or cafe for half the price. They need to do something about this.

Just had a lovely few days at The Hardiman. The staff were fantastic, really welcoming and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Food was really good and rooms very spacious. The adherence to COVID regulations and recommendations were the best I have seen anywhere so far and I felt safe and secure staying here. I would highly recommend it to anyone especially those who are a bit wary of staying in hotels due to COVID-19 .

Very good as per usual I really have to compliment the staff the great work they are doing from management to the people working here for the summer well done .The service excellent friendly looked after us very we'll and look forward to returning 😀

Location Location Location!!!
I reserved two suites looking over Eyre Square and the Christmas Market. Such a wonderful view of bustling Galway and the Christmas shoppers but locals and visitors.
The suites were nice size and the bathrooms large. My only complaint would be that they changed our water glasses as we were there for three nights. Also too many staff popping in to check on the room.
The lobby and restaurant and bar areas were fine. I did enjoy the lobby renovation.
The front desk staff was awesome both at arrival and departure.
M. C.
Just ok.
No atmosphere..lovely staff. But disappointing as location fabulous
H. E.
It was most certainly one of the very best hotels I've had the honour of staying in and I will be back 🙌❤️
M. M.
Hotel clean, warm. Staff brilliant especially the 2 lads on check in desk , they spotted i left one bag hehind me and rang us straight away so saved us a journey back. Thank you to all for our stay
T. K.
Excellent service and a nice ambience right in the middle of Eyre Square.
D. J.
The hotel is perfectly situated in the city center and the staff was wonderful. We were allowed an extremely early check in which was fantastic after an overnight flight that I didn't do much sleeping on. The rooms are adequate and clean but quite dated. The furniture in the lounges need replacing. However, we stayed here for a clean, quiet room and got exactly that. The breakfast was delicious but simple. Again, the staff could not have been better.
J. D.
Meyrick Hotel offers unforgettable experience - from delicious food and cosy elegant interiors, to fancy cocktails or signature afternoon teas. The staff is the most friendly and attentive. They make you feel like home. The hotel went trough major refurbishment early 2019, both public areas and rooms are beautiful. It's a perfect spot for a meeting, wedding or family dinner. Highly recommended!

Stayed here just before the country went back to. Lv3,
Booked a Jr suite at a bargain price of 380 euros for 3 nights B and B, Lovely big room, Clean and also included face masks and anti bar gel in the room to,
Great location in the middle of Galway, Walked everywhere even walked out to salthill and that's only a 25 min walk away,
Breakfast nice, Could get what ever I wonted made up for me,
Only thing that was the problem was the lift as only one lift for 5 floors and with Covid you could have a long wait to use it in the morning for breakfast.
D.
Great hotel. Was very comfortable here and would stay again. Had a room on the 3rd floor in the main building right over the front door and it was roomy and clean with high ceilings. It had an adequate bathroom with very good water pressure in the shower. Bed was firm with very clean sheets.
Breakfast every morning was included and was very good. The service was attentive there as well as at the hotel bar.
It is true that the hotel doesn't have AC or screens in the windows or ability to control your room's temperature and that could be a draw-back for some people. However, Ireland doesn't get very hot and there are not many flying insects to worry about. I left my window wide open and slept fine. Some noise from late-night revelers below, but that is to be expected in Galway. One of my friends asked for a fan and the hotel was happy to get one for him.
The location of the hotel may be its finest feature. Central to all the nightlife, shopping and transportation options.
An observation rather than a critique is that the hotel bar never gets very busy. There are so many other Pub options in the area, I can see why. The hotel bar is bright and clean, but not very warm. Not very much like a typical Irish Pub at all, but the staff is friendly and cater to you very well - a fine place to meet for drinks and appetizers before heading out for the night.
I can't complain about the price as I knew what the price was before I booked and I can't compare to other hotels nearby because I didn't stay at any others. I can only judge on how I felt staying there and if I would stay there again. I felt at home and would stay there again absolutely.
W. N.
The hotel is very beautiful and welcoming. Plenty of space to relax and enjoy a drink. Breakfast was perfect and the coffee was the best so far around Ireland as far as hotel coffee goes.
The location is great, shopping and nightlife is just around the corner. Expect larger crowds on the weekends and make sure to plan ahead for dinner.
Staff is very friendly and the drinks were delicious. Try the Tommy Gun!
T. D.
Absolutely gorgeous hotel with tons of history. Undergoing renovation but barely noticed during our stay, no noise or any issues. Great service and the restaurants had absolutely delicious food! Right on Eyre Square so you're within walking distance to tons of things. The room facing Eyre Square had a bit of noise when the bars let out but I just people watched from the large window and it was enjoyable!
C.
I really love this hotel. I love the atmosphere and the attention to detail that the staff use to provide a great experience for their guests. I've never stayed over here but it is definitely on the bucket list. Very nice place. Would highly recommend

We stayed in this hotel Saturday last.
The most positive aspect of this Hotel is the lovely location, and the stature of the building is impressive.
The bed rooms are dull worn, 70's look the beds are totally beaten and not suitable for use at this time.
The breakfast was very poor quality and had a "reheated from last night " taste /texture to it.
This establishment is in dire need of refurb', pity to see a hotel of this stature in such a sorry state.
Staff were quiet good and accommodating.
C. K.
We stayed for 2 nights for our sons graduation, all staff were superb, room was fabulous, our check in and out with Louise Kelly was very professional and totally uncomplicated. Maybe it was because our son is a member of staff at the hotel, however, I would like to hope that our experience is what all hotel guests experience
j. m.
Grt location beautiful old building w character and charm. I don't know the star rating but would give a 4 based on what we have seen.
The service was fantastic. The room we had was small but we were told that when we walked up and booked as it was not a normal room.
Would definitely stay and recommend.
K. D.
What an amazing place! We loved our stay. The room, a junior sweet, was beautiful and comfortable. The decor is definitely vintage so if you're looking for sparkling new this isn't the place for you. We loved it and thought it added to the charm of the place. The staff were all so lovely and welcoming. The location is perfect for wandering while being just off of the main route through town. We absolutely would stay here again next time we're in Galway.
P. M.
Comfortable establishment in an excellent location. Good range of cocktails
S. K. D.
Wonderful hotel... staff is amazing.. the new rooms are great and will definitely recommend it. We booked a suite, so we had a very large room with seating area and a bathroom with a tub and double sink.
P. B.
A real old worldly hotel, steeped in history. But does need to be revamped inside. Is being done. The most cenrrally located hotel in Galway. Facing Eyre Square. Train station downstairs. Staff very friendly and helpful.
A bit disappointed with breakfast, arrived down at 9.30, but hot breakfast empty had to wait 10 minutes for refill.
j.
Ok stay. I had a small room to the side of the property so it was quiet. The lobby is lovely and looks quite opulent. However the corridor to the bedrooms is a disgrace old and shabby as is the bedroom.
Bed was extremely lumpy and most of the furniture is scraped or broken and belongs in the garbage. I felt I was in a dusty broom closet.
The Tv kept cutting in and out, I guess a connection problem.
Staff at the reception are lovely and helpful. But the staff at breakfast were clueless and no help at all and rude. I wanted to have a pitcher of water at the table and was not allowed, then I asked to buy a bottle of water and that too was also a big no. Breakfast was terrible.
If I would return I would ask for another room and breakfast in bed. Not really 4 star type of hotel.
D. C.
I found my gem in Ireland. Love this hotel. I have stayed in several hotels all over Ireland and this has to be on the top of my list from quality of rooms to the staff. High compliments to management and staff. This will definitely be a must to visit during my trips to Ireland. I cannot wait to return for my next stay.
G. P.
Really nice hotel with a great location, generously sized rooms with good shower facilities. The only thing that let it down was the service from the staff who were not overly accommodating. Still reccomend for a stay in lovely Galway.
K. E.
Hotel is located within walking distance to all shopping and restaurants. Room was extremely comfortable. Parking was convenient onsite. Breakfast was delicious. The best scones in Ireland.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
M. W.
Absolutely gorgeous hotel. There’s not a man alive that could reach the height of their ceilings
Very high covid-19 standards & fridge in the wardrobe 😎

Everything about the Hardiman was really lovely. However, last time we stayed we were in a room in like an annex at the back of the hotel. It was a dark and depressing room and we were disappointed as on other visits we were in rooms at the front of the hotel. Food, service and staff were exceptional.
A. M.
I'm not sure where this hotel gets its 4 star rating but a lot of the decor is very dated, most particularly I'm talking about the carpets and a lot of the carpets were stained. The whole hotel could certainly benefit from a refresh. The food was also thoroughly underwhelming, the sauce that came with the mozzarella balls tasted like fly spray and the mozzarella balls had more of a risotto consistency.
L. M.
The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are very well kept. This place is all about location really, it is right on Eyre square and central to everything! The jaccuzi and hot tub are an added bonus. My only complaint would be check in is very late, it would have been nice to use the Jacuzzi while we waited but you need a room card for access.
F. H.
The hotel is in great location and provided romantic historic spaces. The rooms range from very simple to larger luxurious ones. The simple rooms are overpriced. They are tiny, smelly, and they are not located in the main historic building. However, all rooms are accessed from the main building. Hotel has a nice small spa at the rooftop, but that closes very early during the weekend (5:30pm when we were there). Breakfast is decent and included in the price. Booking directly through hotel's web page can save you €5.

WOW WOW WOW, from the moment myself and my partner entered we where blown away. Usually we go for more boutique hotels but WOW did we get a surprise with the stunning decor in this hotel, we arrived to the surprise that we got an upgrade to the amazing junior suite, room number 423 if i recall correctly, all i can say is it was was beautiful! And the customer service again WOW, from the minute we entered to the minute we left we where treated with the up most respect, I wish I took the ladies name who checked us in because she was fantastic. The one thing I would say is that the spa is a little dated however the message was still amazing and again the staff made up for the decor, thanks again guys we will definitely be returning In the near future.
T. O.
It was lovely to get away from the crowds. The mulled wine& mini mince pies were so needed. The staff were so patient with us. I was very impressed with staff who put my blackcurrant in my bottled water as well as my glass. Usually I've to physically do it myself.
D. R.
Covid-19 standard are very high can't say enough about the front desk staff they were very welcome and during our stay all staff could not do enough for us and very friendly .Afternoon tea was very enjoyable it was a birthday present for my mam who love it.The rooms were lovely and looked out on to the square .We hope to visit again.
A. S.
The Mayrick is a lovely hotel and has the hallmark of a grand, luxurious traditional hotel. Unfortunately we weren't able to try the spa facilities but the room was lovely. Size wise it was big and packed with things you would expect is such a hotel. Food was great to as was the service. My only gripe would be that we stayed 2 nights on the weekend of storm Ophelia and had asked for an extended check out period so we find out whether our flight would still be flying the same day. Unfortunately, the hotel were only willing to move the check out from 12 to 1 which didn't really help and made us take the decision to drive back to Dublin at 1pm when the storm was reaching its peak. A little more empathy and care would have been appreciated. But the hotel is lovely and we enjoyed our stay there.
J. O. C.
Very central and a lovely place to stay. Boat trip to Aran Mor was the highlight of the weekend 😎
A. M.
The Hotel Meyrick is a lovely old hotel within steps of the train station and Eyre park. We had a junior suite which was very spacious and well appointed with a sitting room, dining area, sleeping area and large bathroom. The service was attentive, and none of our requests went unmet. You have to try the seafood chowderit's not to be missed. The hot tub is nice and I had a decent massage. There were nice touches in the bathroom, for example, complimentary lavender bath salts and heated towel bars. I loved the antique furnishings and didn't find it datedmaybe a little worn in spots, but that added to its authenticity.
T. K.
Beautiful hotel great view over Eyre Square to the Christmas market from the executive suite on the 4th floor. Most comfortable bed ever. Valet parking is a nice touch, if there's available space, I was lucky I got the last spot. One little criticism I have is the tea pots in the restaurant were very grubby, it's not a big deal but it just annoys me but all in all a lovely place to stay
J. G.
Stayed here on July 4 and 5th. Great old hotel in the heart of Galway. Outstanding location for Shop street and catching tour busses. Room was very clean, Breakfast was great and the staff was outstanding in both the restaurant and the reception desk. Will definitely stay here again in our next visit to Galway
J. S.
I was there a few weeks ago. Lovely hotel. We had a meeting in the cafe. Again lovely helpful staff and very good prices. Clean bright and very friendly atmosphere
P. S.
Old hotel in the center of Galway. Bit overpriced for the room considering the size of the room. It's smaller than you expect and more crowded. There was no heater in the bathroom and combined with the central heating that closes at around 3 am., It makes an interesting waking up in a cold morning. The internet is average at best so working from hotel was not really possible. The breakfast was a full Irish breakfast. No vegetables and for 6 days nothing changed in what was available. Nice lobby and nice staff. The bar was ok. Lacking of certain personality in my opinion. All in all a 3 star hotel that has 4 because of the location and the old building
M. H.
Nice hotel, it used to be known as the great southern hotel a decade ago and then changed ownership, it sits right in the middle of Galway city at the railway station end of eyre square and beside the bus station.
The hotel facade is made from cut stone and has an old world charm about it.
The hotel is run with a quiet efficientcy with good size bedrooms and good food and is well worth a stay if you are visiting Galway for a few days.
J. Q.
We were upgraded to the executive suite and it was amazing. A view fight over Eyre Square and the hot tubs just down the hall. It was an experience. I would highly recommend using the outside hot tub as it gives an amazing view of the docks.
S. M. D.
Had the pleasure of dealing with Valerie in reservations, she was excellent and great to liaise with. A credit to the hotel, thank you.
k. d.
Excellent place to stay.. Staff are amazing
G.
Loved this hotel! Good rooms, excellent service, and the best location! Every single staff member from the Valet Parking Attendant, clerks, waitresses , and everyone in between was exceptional. Never have I stayed in a hotel with such impeccable service. It is right next to Eyre square which is in perfect proximity to everything.
One last thing... Bernie (reception) is a credit to this hotel...she did our little girl a big favour which made her Halloween holiday.
S. S.
Lovely hotel right in the middle of the city centre. Convenient location, next to the train station. Has a small parking with only 20 to 25 car spaces. Nicely maintained building, friendly staff, great ambience, lovely decor and good food.
M. K.
A absolutely perfect hotel. Excellent staff and service. The bar restaurant reception and lobby are designed uniquely and are very comfortable. A atmosphere of total relaxation and th
p. w.
wonderful stay here. the suite was huge. staff was lovely. great location, my favourite part of the experience was pulling up at the door and your car was taken for parking and brought back to the front door again when you were leaving. now that's 5star service
J. C.
Lovely hotel right in the centre of Galway. Stayed here with a group and everyone was very happy with their rooms and slept well on comfy beds. Staff were very friendly and helpful (valet, barstaff, reservations and reception staff especially). We stayed in the old part of the hotel and most of us had views out on to Eyre Square which was a lovely bonus.
The hot tub on the roof is great too even if there were no bathrobes in our room to wear up to tub. Breakfast was OK but not a massive selection and might be better off venturing out to city for brunch instead.
I would recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay in centre of Galway.
a. b.
The meyrick has some real flaws. The tv in our room had poor selection of channels which were not tuned in correctly. The breakfast buffet was cold. Good selection of food but the hot plates did not warm the food.
G. K.
Wonderful experience. We stayed in a suite overlooking ayre square the staff were excellent. Worth paying the extra for the suite. Bar is nice and food is also good. Close to everything and a great spa.
J. P.
Amazing hotel. Clean, with history and class but all modern facilities. Great service. Amazing location.
C. J.
We had a wonderful stay at this historic hotel. Rooms were very nice and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. For a tour stop this place was excellent.
S. M.
Grand Old Hotel... charming with a really friendly, accommodating staff. Good Irish buffet breakfast, comfy rooms. Right at Eyre Square, easy walk to all the best pubs and restaurants. The train station is right around back of the hotel, so it's easy to catch one down to your next destination. We always stay here when in Galway.
R. C.
Hotel Meyrick was a great choice when visiting Galway. We paid around €200 per night for a standard room. We had a rental car and paid €8 for 24 hours valet. On-site restaurant was amazing; some of the best food we’ve had in Ireland. Their breakfast in the morning was also hearty and tasty. This feels like a historic hotel and was comfortable. No A/C, just partially opened windows, which was fine, even in July. Highly recommend if you can secure a good price.
D. R.
nice old hotel but bit dated. renovations were being done but they did not affect our stay. great location and service. huge rooms a plus.
R. O.
Just had my waxing done with Clare. It was my first time having my wax done here and she made me feel at complete ease. I really like the wax that was used and found it far less painful. It's safe to say I will be going here from now on. Thanks a mill guys :)
r. b.
Not bad. Kind of old but nice rooms. Staff was very accommodating. I needed a few things while there and they were great. One problem. No air conditioning and we were on the 5th floor. It was pretty hot and they ran out of fans.
P. R.
Terrific hotel. We are in a great room, with a king bed and a lovely sitting area. We have not yet had breakfast here, but look forward to it tomorrow morning. We are also booked in for afternoon tea tomorrow!
K. D.
This hotel has a lovely warm atmosphere and the staff can't do enough to help. When you're here as well- make time for the Canadian hot tub on the roof balcony!
Would fully recommend.
A. A.
Very nice. Traditional decor (not my personal taste) but huge room w king bed and seating area. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet standard.
R. S.
We decided to give the gaslight bar a try a couple of weeks ago because it's a fairly inviting place. When we got there it wasent busy so we sat down and waited and waited . There were staff there alright but they were just walking around. Eventually we had to get up and ask to be served. The meal was just mediocre and the" music". was far too loud for the middle of the day. I remember a couple of years ago having a top class lunch in the Meyrick hotel itself with lovely music playing in the background. This hotel was considered Class and a treat to go to in the past and indeed the I still love the hotel but I certainly wouldn't go to the gaslight again. Mc. Donald's would have been more satisfying.
C. E.
We are from Colorado, US. Our stay here in Jan was fabulous. The Meyrick is in a perfect spot. Walking distance from everything. Rooms are nice. Water pressure is good and hot. Orla was so nice and helpful. Can't wait to come back. Check out Maxwell's for breakfast ☺
a. g.
Not enough Stars for this one just spent 3 nights in the Hardiman felt really safe lots of safely measurers taken lot of space have to book breakfast and dinner so they can manage the volume sanitisers everywhere even a pack of Masks and Sanitizer in your room .Staff were exceptional nothing too much for them Really enjoyed it so take a bow guys your are doing an amazing job.
n. m.
We have been coming here for ten years!love love love the place, rooms are all great! Canadian hot tub is to die for! All the staff are so helpful and friendly we wouldn't have our anniversary anywhere else!
S. T.
We stayed at the hotel meyrick before so decided to return again .we stayed in 1 of the executive suites which was top class .
The large bedroom is very spacious with a large bathroom with both bath and large shower and all complete wit all complimentary bathroom toiletries, robes and slippers
The suite also consists of another room with a separate toilet and washhand basin.
Another room combined in the suite is a beautifully decorated living room with tv and plush couch and armchairs.
Overall we were very pleased with our stay at the Meyrick and the service and food is outstanding and top class
It is definately worth the extra money to enjoy the executive rooms and well worth the price
We wil definately be returning to the meyrick again and would highly recommend a stay at this outstanding and fabulous hotel
J. M.
Very helpful and friendly. Food great drinks lovely.
D. B.
Lovely staff and a great atmosphere! They are so accommodating!
M. C.
Upmarket hotel at the corner of Eyre Square. We went to the bar, but passed through the hotel on tbe way. The lobby/ reception area has a modern, classy design and you feel you're in a good hotel. The bar food menu was actually a bit disappointing and the staff in the bar weren't the fastest, but the seating area in the bar was lovely and the staff were friendly
S. B.
Went here for a friend’s wedding and stayed for three nights.
Service was very good - and good quality food which is hard with big numbers.
The breakfast was excellent and very handy valet parking.
K. F.
Dream hotel. We had the best night here. Stayed in an executive suite with a gorgeous view of Eyre Square in the mist of a Christmas time. The outdoor hot tub just topped the trip off.
D. S.
The lobby is nice and having valet parking in the city was helpful - at €5/night. The floor plans were confusing. Several elevators to the 4th floor actually took you to the 5th and you had to go down the stairs. To get to our room from the elevator, we had 4 sets of doors which was not easy with our luggage.
R. D.
Perfect location, right on the main square and only 5 minutes walk from the shops and main attractions. Rooms were clean and the staff were really nice. Both breakfast and dinner were very good
n. c.
Beautiful place in the heart of Galway city.
M. S.
Good hotel and big hotel.
B. G.
Had a 2 day stay here .very central to main streets could walk everywhere Had breakfast and lunch here excellent especially their brown bread Dont know why other hotels cant have same Hot tub so relaxing looking across at The Burren plus great facial
C. K.
Beautiful hotel, perfect location. Nice balance of updates and charm. Off site valet car park very affordable and makes it easy. On-site restaurant very good for breakfast and dinner.
R. K.
This hotel was booked for us by John, who owns CYCLE TOURS IRELAND. We paid for the second night to stay to see more of Galway. It is pricey, but most places are in Galway. If you're there on a Saturday, don't miss the downtown market. The rooms were very nice and the breakfast filling and varied. The hotel is very conveniently located to walk to everything. It is a very busy, large hotel, unlike the smaller places we had stayed in. Lots of weddings and hustle and bustle. I prefer the quieter towns, but Galway is a happening city for sure!
N. M.
A nice hotel very central. Staff are friendly and the food is good. In the old part of the hotel the rooms are nicely furnished with high ceilings.
S. G.
Great location on Eyre square in the middle of Galway. It is a bit noisy, as the main bus transfers are quite near. Also, there is no AC, which would be OK usually, but it was warm when we were there so we had to open a window. Because this is in the city center, it was quite noisy with the window open.
E. F.
Great hotel in the city centre
L. M.
Beautiful hotel, great service. Well worth paying for an upgrade if you're spending time in the room as suites are much better than rooms
R. W.
I used to stay here everytime I went to Galway as a child when it was the Great Southren. Delighted to say the standards are still stellar. Popped in for lunch and it was fantastic.
J. L.

The hotel is locked right in the heart of Eyre Square and easily accessible by Bus , Train or Taxi. The bus station is within 200 meters and Train station is right behind the hotel.

Great hotel right in the centre of Galway, a great spot to camp out and hit the town from, and the bar and food inside is pretty great too, pop into the bar on the left for some great oysters and drinks!
E. Y.
Very professional and welcoming staff. Common areas are beautiful. The rooms are a bit dated and grungy.
G. V. Q.
Nice hotel, but loses a star due to the basement mens' toilets. They stink and they're freezing.. Awful oversight.
B. W.

PLEASE READ - We stayed at the hotel in early June 2019 during our extended trip to Ireland. The hotel service was excellent, and we were especially pleased with Leo. They promptly took care of any issues and answered all questions. I subtracted one star for the terrible WiFi service. Make sure that the room you receive is in the same condition as the room pictured during booking. Most of the rooms have been renovated, but there are still some that haven’t. During busy periods, they may try to stick you in one of the old rooms. You’ll know the second you open the door. If this happens to you, make sure to contact the front desk and have them make it right. Just remember, there are visitors in the new nice rooms that paid the exact same price as you.
