So happy we chose here for our honeymoon. From start to finish amazing. Helpful friendly welcoming staff couldn't do enough to make it perfect for us. Kieran particularly, was there from the get go to make sure our stay was extra special. The views, the rooms, the food all amazing. Cannot wait to be back. Thank you so much Aghadoe Heights. Our Honeymoon was perfection 💕

The Aghadoe Heights is a special hotel in a special place. From the moment I drove up to the property, I knew I was in for a treat. The views from the property of the lake, mountains, and fields were world class. Simply breathtaking. The customer service and hospitality were top notch. The location was ideal; a few minutes drive from Killarney where I enjoyed fresh fish, burgers, and plenty of pints. With the assistance of hotel staff, I rented a bike in town to cycle the Gap of Dunloe, which was absolutely gorgeous. I received tips from guest services about the best routes to take, where to stop for water and coffee, and the best places to stop and take pictures. The general manager, Ewan, was especially courteous and generous. To recover from the ride, I enjoyed a lovely afternoon at the spa where I had a terrific massage from Natalia and enjoyed time in the hot saunas and cool misty shower. It was a life-changing, memorable trip, and I have the great team at Aghadoe Heights to thank for that.

There are two things which make this place special. The marvellous view across the island studded lake to the Kerry mountains and the staff. They are charming, friendly and helpful and it is the staff who make your stay a five star experience. The food is good, the rooms comfortable. Don't delay, book soon.

We have booked a night away to the hotel with spa treatment and dinner and breakfast, positive is the view the spaces room, spa is great and breakfast continental is nice full Irish is only ok. What brings it down to 3 star rating is dinner cold veg what has been replaced but the same thing happened with the next table to us, asked to write happy birthday to my wife's desert plate what they have forget....... Room spaces and the view is great , bed is not for us but that's just our preference, nice warm room. For the spa and the view we will be back but not necessarily to stay.

We had a weekend here and left feeling that the hotel doesn’t merit the 5 stars. That’s not to say that it isn’t an excellent 4 star hotel but there are lots of minor things that count. Such as having to make your own toast at breakfast, or the lack of soft lighting or any atmosphere in the restaurant or the sachets of sugar and bottles of sanitiser on the tables. There are a lot of tiny details like this that will make you doubt if you should have splurged on staying here. The location had stunning views, but not all of the rooms have them and you won’t necessarily have the best views in the bar and restaurant. If all you want is to just look at the lakes from the same place then you will be thrilled however if you fancy walking it’s a good twenty minutes drive to the national park and the immediate area doesn’t have walks to rival Muckross lake. Food is delicious but a tad overpriced. Room service for a vegan burger and chips, a glass of wine and a coke was €43. That kind of thing starts adding up after a while! But our room was excellent, very spacious and comfortable. The thermal spa has some nice areas but is quite small and being charged to use it on top of the steep prices for accommodation is a bit hard to stomach. I had a massage treatment that was excellent but the relaxation area wasn’t all that relaxing. The staff are helpful but one waiter was a little over attentive and you had the feeling that tipping was expected for everything. I saw a lot of reviews from people who had come here for a honeymoon and were disappointed, and I think that is mostly because the overall standard is a little short of what people might expect from a 5 star hotel and prices, which for those can rarely afford it should be a very special experience. You could do much better elsewhere.

Beautiful spa with breathing views. Brid is an excellent Therapist. Felt so relaxed during & after my treatment. Enjoyed lunch in The Heights Lounge..Would highly recommend & will visit again.

We had an excellent stay here for our honeymoon in an amazing suite. The views and the room were incredible, and the service was great too. We enjoyed massages in the spa, and found the hotel staff really pleasant to deal with.

This hotel is surrounded by Breathtakingly beautiful View...Peaceful and Lovely location within minutes of drive to the City center and Great service by the staff.
Would definitely stay there again.
Only con was that there wasn't any vegetarian options on the breakfast menu apart from Pancakes. When I requested the vegetarian fry, I received a simple dish. See attached Picture. Apart from that I cannot think of anything negative to say about this place. Absolutely wonderful.

Wouldn't take it as a 5 star hotel, the location and views are what made up for it. There was a lack of choices in food and not something that was out of this world, its cheaper to head into the town and go to a restaurant there as there would be more choices, cocktails were also extremely expensive for what they were and there was nothing extravagant about them, again, better to head into the town and have more choices there.
The room itself was lovely with the room being cleaned everyday, bed was comfy and large
Breakfast was included with the stay and had a large choice and everything was lovely
Staff were lovely and friendly
The pool was fairly small but okay when there were barely any people in it

Great hotel, room was lovely and spacious, very cosy atmosphere. On the downside the staff don't seem to understand what the 5 star experience is all about. Alot of the bar and restaurant staff (not all of them some were lovely) had a strange attitude more befitting of a 3 star run of the mill hotel. The price of drinks in the bar is bordering on insanity too. This is a 3 or 4 star hotel experience at a 5 star price

Beautiful views of the Killarney Lakes. Staff and facilities are excellent. Food and Drink is amazing. Only slight negative is, it's a bit of a trek into the town of Killarney. Worth checking out. 4.5 stars.

Stayed here last night Room and view was beautiful but really that’s all this hotel had going for it staff were rude it was like everything was an effort for them expect one girl her name was Fiona she was so kind and lovely to talk to..food was ok nothing special.. it’s a 3 star hotel with 5 star prices. Unfortunately it was a massive let down for me

Excellent hotel , room was top class , food nd service top class , nd staff very friendly

5 stars for the 5* Hotel. It's amazing. Room, views, service, food, all fantastic. I recommend everyone to stay at least once.

It was absolutely amazing!! I had a 90 minute treatment with Emelianna who was incredible. I felt so safe and was looked after so well. The standard at the Aghadoe Spa is so high. Would really recommend it. Linda

Had beautiful lunch served by a lovely lady called Maura. She made our experience memorable.

Stopped in for a quick lunch before flight back to London, the chowder was generous and very tasty. Would recommend

Good views of the city but if you want to have a drink at the hotel (which is the only thing that is nearby) you can not, you must be a guest.

Amazing place perfect location love this hotel I went for my birthday and felt so special the views are just perfect the room we stayed in 353 was just beautiful

Even with the restrictions this is still a great place to stay. The food was spectacularly good even with a slightly more limited menu. Issues with my email led to confusion with the booking on arrival and it was all handled smoothly and professionally. Looking forward to a return visit when life returns to normal.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. This hotel is everything you would expect for a 5 star hotel. Fabulous room, very clean and spacious, and comfy bed. The staff are exceptional and go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. The food is one of the best I have ever had in a 5 star hotel, from breakfast to dinner they have various options to suit everyone. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Killarney.
K. V.
Wonderful view from the restaurant. Enjoyable atmosphere.

Lovely hotel with lovely views. Room was so beautiful, clean and spacious. Staff all so friendly. Unfortunately food, both breakfast and dinner was a bit of a let down, not up to 5 star standards.

Upon arrival we were treated very coldly and rude, despite this hotel's 5 star status. My partner and I had been touring 5 star hotels along the Kerry coast for over a week but had the biggest hopes for this one. The reception staff severely let us down, they were rude and seemed annoyed we were checking in or had the nerve to ask where certain parts of the hotel were?! When we tried to make changes to our spa treatment they were unwilling to help even though we watched them assist another couple when they had a change. Our booking was also cancelled however I was never notified until we showed up. It was handled quickly but still seemed to annoy the staff. We asked for late check out and they made it seem like a huge burden but agreed to it. However, then our cards were deactivated before the late check out so we were left standing in robes in the hallway!
HOWEVER, the restaurant staff, especially Vincenzo De Santo ( the restaurant manager), turned our stay around. He was unreal accommodating. Explained the menu, the dining areas, the selections. He checked in on us and whenever we had a request it was done ASAP. He even remembered our names and recommended dishes. 5 stars to the entire restaurant staff!
I am not sure if we arrived on an off day or what, but the other receptionists later during the weekend were lovely and the spa staff was very kind.
I previously wrote a review giving this place 3 stars, however I deleted it as the restaurant staff completely made the trip worth it. The rest of the staff should take notice though that 5 stars means your guests deserve to be treated the way Vincenzo treated us. He and his staff went above and beyond and we are very grateful.

We passed the night at Aghadoe Heights Hotel. Because we arrived at night, we missed the brilliant lands pace. In the morning, we were shocked at the view that greeted us. It was something from the TV right before our eyes.
The hotel is a truly a five star that brings you the luxury experience. Robs, slippers, tea, coffer, fridge, writing desk, room with stunning views. Our breakfast was delicately made to taste. You order the hot meal and its buffet for the rest.
The swimming pool and spa is another great attraction at this hotel. Trust me, the will spoil you a little.

Pros: Gorgeous views, even if you don't book a lake view room you could have lunch in the bar which has a balcony with seats or just walk over to Mahoney's point across the road. The beds are also really comfy.
All the staff members made you feel like a local even if you're just passing them in the hall they ask you how your day went and how the weather is, nice touch.
The spa gave us the best massage we've ever had. (Get the recovery package!)
Cons: Check in was for 3pm we arrived at 3.15 the room wasn't ready. We grabbed a drink in the bar and went back down at 3.45 where they said the room was ready but when we got to the room the cleaner was still there. Would have expected better from a 5star hotel. Also we had to get the mini fridge swapped out because it didn't work, we over heard another guest having the same problem during our stay.
The Heights Lounge really let the place down. On our last day we chose to kill time here before our train, maybe 1.5 hours. It was really nice out so all the tables outside were full and there were maybe 2 tables seated inside. Every single table outside had to come inside to get the attention of a member of staff. There was no reason for the service to be that slow when it wasn't busy. They need to hire a manager for that space who has experience in restaurants and not just hotels. I also waited over 15mins for a margarita. Also the lunch menus were printed sideways which looked really lazy.
Breakfast service was hit and miss, the first day we had it in the restaurant, the food was good but they never brought the tea/coffee we ordered to the table. The second day we ordered it to the room. We had to call to remind them and then they forgot half the order but by that stage we had to check out so we didn't bother saying anything.
Some aspects of the hotel needed upkeep like the sign coming in from Mahoney's point which was dated, peeling, and sun bleached. The pool also could've been cleaner.
All in all its a good hotel, they're just missing some of those attention-to-detail points that would make it 5star.

This was an amazing hotel. Staff was thoughtful, helpful, and pleasant. Food here is only surpassed by the wonderful view of the lake and landscape. Rooms here are spacious and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area, and we already have recommended it to multiple people.

Really nice restaurant with polite staff. Menu prices were higher than we're used to, but expected for the exceptional view from where we was sitting.
Fish & chips was nice as was the chicken. Drinks are a little pricey so be careful not to over do it.
We left a tip as the staff were very chatty & informed us of the areas viewed from the balcony area. Pleasant music playing made the evening quite comfortable.

We were at a wedding there lately, beautiful hotel and very helpful staff

Stayed for just one night with my wife and had an absolutely amazing time. The views are amazing, the food was unbelievable and the staff are 5*. Will certainly be returning, felt very safe and well looked after and during this pandemic it was a lovely break 😊

We stayed at Aghadoe Heights for one night in January. It was a great experience from start to finish. Reception staff and concierge were very welcoming and helpful, we could not have asked for more. We were given an upgrade to a room with a lake view which was a huge plus. The room itself was extremely comfortable with coffee machine and lots of pods as well as bath and excellent bed. I hope to come back in the future.

Myself and a friend travelled across country
to stay in this hotel. We had high expectations as it is a *five star* hotel. However, I am absolutely disgusted at the behaviour and attitude we received by a member of staff..
We checked in with the first receptionist
and everything was perfect.
We got to the room and there was no welcome book or no room service menu, which wasn't a big deal - Covid-19 and all that . So we went down to reception to enquire about room service.
The woman we got behind reception this time was very rude and spoke to my friend and I with absolute disrespect.
"Well are you staying at this hotel?" She asked in disgust- looking at myself and friend up and down judging us by our appearances.
"Yes I've checked in and everything just enquiring about room service because there was no menu in the room " I said.
The conversation went on for a few moments more while I was in shock at the way she was speaking to myself and friend. Very unprofessional and totally judgemental for a 'five star' hotel.
The second night of stay, my friend went to use the bath and the plug in the bath wouldn't stay closed, and the water kept draining. She found this very frustrating and quite upsetting.
The room was lovely and spacious, the bed was comfortable, the view was outstanding however the second receptionist left a bitter taste in our mouths and ruined the entire experience of the hotel. I've never felt so uncomfortable by a hotel staff member before.

My wife and I had a wonderful time staying at Aghadoe Heights for three nights last weekend.
I could not fault a single thing. Everything was perfect. The amazing location, the large modern room, but best of all was the View. Picture perfect, I could look at that view for days. The lake with the mountain backdrop, beautiful.
All of the staff we met were so nice. Kind friendly and very accommodating. I wish I had made a note of the names so I could give them all their due credit. Each and every one deserves the recognition. Keep up the great work.
We had breakfast in bed each morning which was delightful and delicious. The breakfast ,the lunch and Dinner menus offer something for everyone. We had originally planned to go into the town to eat but after the delicious first meal we had in the hotel we decided to stay for more.
We have stayed in lots of hotels around the world and we both agree your hotel is in our top three. We will most definitely be back.
Thank you all for a great experience.

It's not within walking distance to anywhere.
I was disappointed at the unattractive hotel exterior building
The foyer was utilitarian...however the receptionist was very pleasant and we got an upgrade to a junior suite.
Unfortunately, we could not see the beauty view due to the heavy rain and fog.
The room was lovely, warm, bright, large with big windows but NO BALCONY. Due to the bad weather we did nt miss it but in summer it would be an advantage.
Some rooms DID have balconies.
The bathroom was large and excellent shower, amenities, toiletries and towels.
The bar wood was good and reasonable for fish and chips.
The spa was slightly chilly. So was the massage room.
The young girl who gave the massage was bored and gave me a rushed body massage. Not good.
The breakfast are was nice as we were given a window table with front views to which we glimpsed briefly what the view could be like as the sun popped out for 20 mins . The eggs Benedict were tasteless and semi hard accompanied by a not good Hollindaise sauce.

We spent the night at the Aghadoe Heights Hotel during our recent trip to Killarney National Parks and my only regret was that we weren't there for longer. Our room was huge - the biggest hotel room I've ever had. We felt like the value for money alone on the front was well worth it. The staff at the front desk and the doorman who helped bring up our stuff were both so welcoming. The views were beautiful, and the hotel was so quiet that once in our room we felt like we were the only ones there. The room was incredibly clean and well equipped. We were able to make use of the hotel pool and hot tub - both of which were lovely, though sadly we were not there long enough to enjoy the spa (next time!). Across the street from the hotel are beautiful views of Lough Leane. At breakfast, we were served multiple warm and made to order dishes right to our table - the service and food were excellent. We had dinner in the lounge - the food was great, though service was a little slow and disorganized. But it was made up for by the great live piano music. Overall we loved our time here and will definitely return one day - next time for longer.

An amazing place to visit. Hotel staff were excellent. So welcoming. A touch of class. I would also highly recommend dining in the hotel. The spa like the rest of the hotel is exactly what you’d want. Peaceful and relaxing. If your heading to Kerry or planning a stay in Killarney, this is the place to go. Can’t wait to get back there soon.

Was treated by my sister and mother to two treatments here both by a lady named Jennifer (very friendly and will give great advice for skin treatment!) ... Lovely staff and facilities... Only slight complaint would be that some of the steam rooms did not function but that is minor and could have only been an issue when I was there... beautiful view from the Jacuzzi and swimming pool on the second floor! Would definitely recommend!
A. F.
We stayed for one night and had dinner included in the package. The food was excellent and the service in all parts of the hotel (reception, spa, restaurant) was excellent too. Lunch was included with the spa package and that too was excellent and good value for money.
The view from the rooms is spectacular, beds very comfortable, bedroom and bathroom is spacious.
The bedrooms are a bit dated and could do with being modernized. While the overall spa experience is excellent, I would like to be able to smell something in the aromatherapy room and feel "salted" in the dry room. Other than that, the overall experience was great. I will definitely be back and would have no hesitation recommending to others!

Great hotel. Small and personal. The staff where very friendly and helpful. I loved the size of the room and the extra attention to detail. They turn down your bed with information on the next days weather forecast and local attractions. You get Nesspresso machine in each rooms which is great. The rooms have air conditioning which most hotels in Ireland don’t offer. Great experience overall.

Fantastic hotel, would highly recommend. The afternoon tea was divine. The rooms were stunning along with the views. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would have no hesitation staying again, but for longer this time. Chocs in the room on arrival were a lovely touch :)

Stayed here last week and what a wonderful hotel. Views from the room overlooking the lakes were breathtaking. Staff were very attentive and nothing was a problem. The bed was one of the most comfortable that I have slept in a long time. Hats off to the chef , food was to die for and I will be back.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in October 2017. The accommodations were great, as our room was clean with lots of space. Views out the south facing rooms toward the lakes and mountains were incredible. The location is good if you have a car (which we did) and plan to do some hiking or sightseeing out in the mountains. If you're looking to be in town late, then it can be a bit of a hassle to go in and out from this hotel. We found ourselves going into town because of the dinner options available at the hotel. Don't get me wrong; they offer a nice dinner and bar area, we just didn't feel they had good options if you wanted to eat lighter and/or in your room. All in all, those challenges were minimal and shouldn't detract from the rating. Some others reviews say this isn't a 5-star hotel - although the furnishings are probably a little less than traditional 5-star hotels, the services and staff sure operate like a 5-star place. The spa area was fairly nice, and although we didn't book a full service, we were able to use the heated chairs and spa areas as hotel guests. Also, I really enjoyed listening to the bartender talk with locals about his multiple darts leagues...talk about culture! :)

One of my all time favorite resorts!

A 5* Experience from Arrival to Departure A very warm welcome Beautiful Room Food and exceptional service

My wife and I stayed for 1 night on 04JUN16. We had a garden suite- it was a fabulous room and well equipped. Very satisfied with the room. The Pool and patio area were very enjoyable too. We had an evening meal there and for €140 for 2 (including wine) the food was a little bland. We had the prawns to start and beef medallions for main and but frankly I've had better for far less. There was a certain lack of imagination and flavour- as if the menu was catered for people my father's age (70's). The service was excellent though and the staff friendly. The breakfast was much improved on the dinner and again, the service was great.
E. C.
First impressions were lasting. The friendly greeting from front house staff was really nice and this was followed by a very cheerful concierge member showing us to our room. The Spa treatment was very welcome. The dining experience was top class - food excellent and really friendly staff. I will be happy to recommend a stay at Aghadoe to my friends.

The spa quality is amazing and the staff are so warm and welcoming. I lost a sentimental piece of jewellery on the property and left my phone number and the team at the spa were so quick in finding it and they even posted it to my address because I don’t live in Kerry. Really good experience.

Our favorite hotel on our two week Ireland vacation.
What a comfortable, quiet, private, clean room.
The food wasn’t that great but the view from the dining room was amazing. We could sit and look at the view for hours.
G. P.
Amazing view, great room Although, you would expect more from the food in a hotel like this . We ordered room service and the sandwich I ordered was missing ingredients and the bread wasn't fresh. Also, the pancakes for breakfast are just 2 tiny pancakes and seemed like they were pre-made or frozen. We went to the bar for a drink before 11 pm and the bartender was kind of rude, he said he was closing in 5 minutes so we rushed to order but few minutes after, 3 people sat in the bar and he served them drinks and talked and laughed with them, so it seemed like he did not like us.
M. F.
Ignore comments from people about overlooking a cemetery (you might do on the ground floor). But the view from any floor on the lake side is spectacular. If you want to frolick around nude in your room with the curtains open then get a room without a view with a hedged garden offering you all the seclusion you want! Lovely service and food in the bar, and quiet breakfasts with scenic views in the restaurant.
A. O.
Beautiful hotel, the staff are excellent with great Kerry charm. Worth the extra few quid to stay in a place like this. The view of the lakes and the reeks is second to none. Great location to visit gap of dunloe and to tour the ring of kerry.
A. M.
Our room had a great view of the lake. The staff was very friendly and could not do enough for us! It was also well situated making it easy to get on the Ring of Kerry and a short drive into town. The food was also excellent! Unfortunately we did not have time to use the amenities that the Hotel had to offer, but we are sure that they are the best and we are sorry that we did not have enough time to make use of them, they looked great!
E. O.
Everything about our stay was perfect. The staff are friendly and professional, the room was very beautifully furnished and the bathroom was lovely. The star of the show is the view of the Lake, it is stunning.
We enjoyed the food and had a wonderful relaxing time in the Thermal Suite.

We stayed for the weekend in September. From arrival the staff were courteous, friendly and very helpful. The views of the lakes and mountains are fantastic. The facilities at the hotel are very good with spacious bedrooms, luxurious bathrooms and a choice of dining experiences. The food was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay at Aghadoe Heights and will revisit in the not too distant future. I couldn't speak highly enough of the hotel staff, it's so refreshing to be taken care of people who really want to help !
C. O. B.
Have not stayed here had a group here for tea/coffee and scones. Not used to 5 star service. The scones were amazing. Staff are very good at their jobs. The 18 tourists I had were very impressed as well.

Wonderful one night stay at this beautiful hotel. My sister and I treated ourselves to a night away and were not disappointed. We were given an upgrade on arrival which really set the tone off to a great start. Lovely welcome at reception and all staff so friendly and polite. Special mention to Jason and Geraldine. We ate in the lounge at lunch time and restaurant in the evening. The food and service were excellent. The pianist added a special touch. We will return and definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Stayed there recently situated in a lovely location overlooking Killarney Lakes, greeted at reception by two Friendly members of staff was quickly and efficiently got us settled in . The accommodation quite comfortable rooms quite warm fantastic view onto the lakes. We didn't find and the hotel well very suitable for younger members of the family( early teens) what I noticed whilst waiting in the restaurant how disoriented other people were due to the lack of appropriate signage the meal itself was beautifully presented it was a little on the cold side and I wasn't prepared to wait another 20 minutes atfter already waiting ,it was a little disappointing especially when one of our party was missing elements from his meal and was too polite to bring it to anyones attention until it was too late. As I frequent a lot of hotels while on my travels I was expecting better from a 5-star facility, I will be calling again soon.

We got married 6 years ago in this beautiful hotel. We had most amazing wedding day. Our guests still talking about it.We love coming back every year for our little stay.Always makes us so happy.Thank you so much ❤

Outside of the town so quieter surroundings. Great views of the lakes from the viewing area across the road

Our stay at the Aghadoe Heights was outstanding, from the welcome at reception to the well wishing from the doorman at departure was second to none. Every member of staff are so well trained in their respective fields that they are a pleasure to watch as they seamlessly make everyone welcome. We were upgraded to a garden suite which was a wonderful surprise, the room was beautifully decorated and no expense was spared in the fabulous decor. We ate both lunch and dinner in the bar, the food was amazing and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. There is also a very old world charm, that can be found in some five star hotels but the Aghadoe Heights has outshone any other experience because of it' s staff, their obvious pride in their work and the beautiful surroundings they work in.
I. M.
An incredible hidden gem in the middle of the ring of Kerry! We loved every bit of our stay. The staff was very accommodating and made out stay more special!
We would 100% come back.. and next time for a longer stay!
C. M.
Our stay was only for 1 night but felt longer as time expanded in your relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are extremely comfortable, the staff are efficient and friendly, and the surrounding scenery is beautiful. The only thing that would have improved our stay would have been the inclusion of some herbal teas in the room.
P.
I was in the restaurant today in a group of 5 adults and 2 children, booked in for afternoon tea at 3pm. The service was great, the food was excellent, and the management went over and above to amend a prior issue we had. Highly recommended, and we'll be back again. Thank you Paul and all the other staff.

We recently had our Wedding at the Aghadoe Heights Hotel and Spa and I am delighted we chose this hotel. The accommodation, food and service were excellent, but above all I cannot praise the staff highly enough for the outstanding service they provided. Each and every member of staff were friendly, professional and extremely attentive. It literally felt like a "home away from home". I would recommend this hotel without hesitation and my family and I look forward to returning the Aghadoe Heights on numerous occasions in the many years ahead. Thank you for making our Wedding Day so enjoyable.

Very nice hotel, with generous rooms and well kept overall. Went there for a Spa overnight treatment and there was nothing I could complain about. From the Spa, which is one of the best in Ireland to the dinner in the Lakeroom restaurant to the luxurious room we stayed in. It is not the cheapest stay, but it will be a good one. Especially the sunrise over the lake in the morning is worth a trip alone.

This is my second time here. I was trying to remember why I didn’t actually give a review the last time.
This hotel is rated 5 star. For the life of me I cannot see how. In comparison to The Europe Hotel down the road which is also a 5 star there is a vast difference. I have stayed in The Europe before and the standard across the board is much higher.
Anyway, the staff here at the Aghadoe Heights are friendly and nice.

Recommend: Lovely place. Nice location and friendly staff. Overpriced. Not really 5 star feeling and warranted of 5 stars.
Will I return: Possibly but would need to see some changes to warrant the 5 star rating.

We stayed in the Aghadoe for 2 nights. We had a Lakeside room for both nights, fabulous views. The spa definitely deserves it's awards. The staff in the spa were very friendly and informative. Unfortunately this did not follow through too the reception desk and restaurant/bar (morning&evening). I don't know if this is a 5 star. I have stayed in nicer and friendlier 4 star.

About a month ago my husband and I got married in this incredible place. Killarney is where we fell in love and we couldn't wait to bring our closest friends and family back. Aghadoe made all of our wedding dreams come true. They treated every single one of our 37 guests from the states like family. We married in the penthouse suite, and it was so beautiful that after spending a night there we ended up purchasing an extra night! I will never forget the memories that we made here, and can't wait to go back in years to come. Marie helped us with every wedding need we could have possibly needed, and then some! Brendon was so amazing in helping us with anything we needed taken to our rooms. He even made sure all of my things were ready in the penthouse the night before. Nathan and Lee were so awesome in the bar. They stayed up until all hours of the morning taking care of our drink needs and always had a smile on their face. Not to mention our drinks were top notch. Can't wait to see you all again sometime soon!

Fabulous venue and exceptional food and service. Can't wait to return 🥳

Fantastic venue for my sons wedding two weeks ago. Staff were so attentive and friendly. Food was delicious. Views over the lakes were spectacular. Would highly recommend this hotel for weddings or a getaway break.

The external view of the hotel may have a retro concrete design the interior is far more impressive and did not disappoint followed by a warm hello from all members of their team.
Good spacious room easily laid out and with a good size balcony looking out over the lakes which is one of the hotel's attractions. The fantastic Spa centre is certainly another.
The pool area looked wow but is slightly too small for more than 8 - 10 guests using it as only 4 loungers to use. Unfortunately noisy children "bombing" does take the tranquility out of thought of using but this also displayed the hotel easily accommodates families as well as couples wanting a relaxing spa weekend
The restaurant and bar area is relaxing and welcoming. The meals and drinks in the bar menu are good value and less formal . The restaurant dinner selection is good and the food tasting is even better.
The breakfasts were excellent with a good choice of hot menu selection from the menu as well as the cold options. A very friendly team of staff.
A thoroughly enjoyable treat in a fabulous hotel located outside Killarney ......but with views to fully appreciate. Highly recommended
Thank you. Danny

The hotel looks and feels like a 1960/70 building. It needs upgrading and renovation. The bedroom was excellent. The food was very good but the menu was very limited. The views were spectacular and worthy of a 5* hotel. My comments are based on the expectancy of five star standards.
A. H.
Big kudos to your breakfast manager (we ate there the morning of Oct. 14), she was absolutely fantastic and went over and above to ensure we had everything we needed. The food was outstanding. The hot tub however in the pool area was the same temperature as the pool. Rooms were really well appointed.
We booked the family room for four friends; I would suggest including an option online for four adults rather than having to choose two adults and two children.

Beautiful interior, helpful, friendly and cheerful staff. Fantastic food , breathtaking views from hotel windows, very peaceful area. Cleanliness of the hotel is at the highest standards. It has also tennis courts, spa, swimming pool and sauna. I will definitely be coming back there every time I'm in Kerry 😍

My husband stayed at Aghadoe Heights for two nights as part of our honeymoon stay in Ireland. Our room offered an amazing view of the lake and mountains. The staff was very kind and helpful as well. The only complaint I have is that the water in our room was a yellowish color, but the staff did everything they could to help make our stay more pleasant, and even offered us an additional room while they took care of the issue. Overall, it was an outstanding stay, and we will likely be coming back there on our next visit.
C. B.
We had a fabulous stay, relaxing, amazing food a warm welcome from happy staff, the room was well appointed with a restful ambience, loved the views and the pool. Will defiantly be back might choose a room to front with view next time. Perfect for couples
W. G.
Friendly staff. Good deal. Large rooms with awesome views of the lake. Clean upmarket area. Staff performance is exactly what you would expect from a five-star hotel. I would recommend it.
M. M.
We had a perfect 2 night stay. Lovely experience in spa and great treatment from Joanne. Hotel is comfortable and relaxing with lovely extra touches like chocs on pillow at night, cucumber and mint water on tap and coffee available all day. Add in the pool and jaccuzi and of course the views....Highly recommend and we will definitely come back
C. G.
Stunning location, amazing staff. The spa experience was definitely the best bit. Food was great but evening menu limited for non meat eaters. The room except for the view had a number of snagging issues which tainted the experience. In particular the heating wouldn't work and my cold mother didn't help. Porter unhelpful but house keeping were able to provide a heater.
Value vs price not enough for a return visit.

Driving up to the hotel, the outside appearance is somewhat underwhelming, then you step inside to a hotel that is 5* in every way. From the greeting at the front door, assistance with our luggage, to being shown to our impeccable room, this hotel is wonderful. Breakfast has been fantastic, both the food and service from the lovely Breda each morning. The bar food menu has been delicious, and the table service and drinks just lovely. Staff are friendly polite and very helpful, always eager to please. The décor, furnishings, atmosphere, quality, service all shine through to offer you a wonderful stay. Overall...could not recommend highly enough, thank you to all the lovely staff for making our stay so special.
C. D.
This hotel was absolutely wonderful. The staff was so friendly, the food and drink delicious, and the building and amenities excellent. Our waiter Stephen in the lounge was absolutely delightful and made our experience that much better. And the view! Truly incredible. The location was perfect- just outside the city to feel remote but convenient to the city centre and the Ring of Kerry. It was so nice to be able to unwind in the hottub after a day of sightseeing. I truly have nothing bad to say about this hote- it was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. We will definitely be back!
G. N.
Fantastic hotel. We stayed in lake view suit. Worth the extra money for the views. Really enjoyed the spa and resturaunt options available. Staff friendly and professional.
E. C.
Excellent Hotel definitely a 5 star experience staff were really attentive especially restaurant manager. Book high tea it was bar far the best I've ever had.
R. K.
This is a great hotel. The decor is slightly dated....but is being currently updated this week. The food was excellent, and the staff are amazing, meeting all our needs to the upmost standards. The facilities are second to none, gym, thermal suite and spa, all top notch. Would recommend
J. B.
Myself and my partner stayed very recently and we loved our stay. The service was excellent we were made feel so at home and the staff couldn't do enough for us... we would highly recommend a stay here and we most definitely will be back again
l.
We absolutely loved our stay. The room (Garden suite) was fabulous and on check in the hotel staff were kind enough to check us in early. It was little touches like this and giving us water for our day trips that added to the overall experience.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the area.
m. w.
Really good hotel, food was excellent, staff great, rooms good, pool good. Few pieces for cleaning and maintenance staff to pick up butts outside on decking can see when eating And ladies changing area for pool that shower could do with scrub at end of tiles. Water also flows into drying area.
M. s.
Superlatives abound and cascade when it comes to describing the Aghadoe Heights. From the moment we arrived to be greeted with an upgrade to a suite until our smooth and uncomplicated departure our whole experience was one of utter pleasure. The view from the room was just a joy to behold - a life enhancing start to any day - helped by some rather marvelous weather. Service from all staff was absolutely superb - we felt relaxed and at home almost - at all times whether breakfast, a light lunch or full dinner. Desk staff couldn't be helpful enough as we planned our daily tours of Kerry's amazing scenery.
The food itself was first class. A breakfast buffet second to none. A club sandwich that was just sublime. Perfectly cooked steaks or fish with enough choice to sustain a week’s stay. The food was so good that we seldom ate outside the environs of the hotel simply because there seemed to be little point in trying to beat such quality.
Spa and pool facilities were spot on, my wife enjoyed the tranquility base in the spa whilst the pool was more than adequately sized for an invigorating swim. Everywhere there was THAT view over the Killarney lakes, into the mountains, whether dining, swimming or just relaxing in our room there was always that stunning vista to look out on.
Room itself was such a surprise but most welcome upgrade. Huge bed, spotless bathroom, sofa and chairs, plenty of storage space. Very much a home from home. Housekeeper was absolutely spot on at all times.
I cannot recommend the Agadhoe Heights enough. The friendliness yet professionalism of the staff is in perfect balance and, if nothing else pertained, this would be enough for great stay but combined with the food, the ambience and the location I would not hesitate in saying that this is one of the very best hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying in.
d. h.
Staff were amazing. Reception area decor disappointing. Rooms and food lovely.spa fab Charged 40e for a wash & blow dry.. outrageous!!. No slippers or dressing gown in bedroom like sheen falls and Hotel Europe. No valet to take out suitcases to car on departure. These are small things but also what you'd expect in a 5* hotel .. . Overall I did really enjoy my stay . Thank you .
C. O.
A fantastic five-star hotel, with magnificent surroundings. Particular praise should go to the staff - who did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable (including some very responsive service and help when my boyfriend became ill). It’s not possible to walk to Killarney town from the hotel, but a taxi will get you there in a matter of minutes. Would unreservedly recommend to future guests!
H. J.
Room, staff and thermal suite lovely. Felt the facade of the building + gardens not worthy of 5 star though. Pool was disappointingly small but jacuzzi was super. Overall, enjoyed my stay. Above comments made purely in effort to improve standards.
C.
Fantastic hotel! We picked this hotel as it we read it was a good hotel for kids and it is. Upon arrival they give the kids a little goodie bag with colorings and a map for a fairy or pirate trail. The staff even played with our son which was so nice to see! There is a crèche and they have wonderful babysitting services. The views are stunning and the food is good. I highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to visit again.

Just back from a two day break celebrating our wedding anniversary at Aghadoe Heights Hotel. We got married in the hotel a year ago which was an exceptional day. All the staff welcomed us back personally and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was superb. From the food to the service and the amazing spa treatments we got from Brid and Jane. I would give more than 5 stars if possible. Michael, the restaurant manager went out of his way to ensure we had lovely seats for our meals and breakfast. Thank you so Michael, Stephen, Celeste, Lee, Brid, June, John and Betty for our wonderful stay. See you next year 😍

We left a review on Trip Adviser already. This was our favorite hotel in Ireland. Beautiful view and beautiful rooms. The exterior of the hotel looks a bit dated but all was perfect after we checked in. The staff was lovely, the view was awesome and the renovated rooms were beautiful. We had a perfect stay in Killarney.
C. G.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The spa was beautiful and the service was excellent. The option to have a hair appointment was great and the food in the terrace bar was really good. I was disappointed that there was no bath in the bathroom. I have my own beauty business and can definitely say the therapist I had at the spa was so professional and highly skilled at her job. Her name was Johanna. The view from our room was so beautiful and we will definitely be back . The only other thing I would recommend is to have snacks in mini bar and clearer room service menu as I did have an issue with banana being served on my breakfast which I am allergic to and it wasn't mentioned on the menu. But overall a beautiful hotel and Spa withotel very helpful and friendly staff.
M. l.
Myself & my partner stayed here over the easter bank holiday and we truly enjoy our stay. The staff was all very helpful and we would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great friendly place to stay. The views are amazing and our time spent was wonderful. Thank you for all hospitality.
P. R.
I spent three nights at Aghadoe for my boyfriends 30th. Before arrival I was liaising with Patricia O'Brien and had asked that something be in our room when we arrived marking his birthday. This did not happen. On each of the three mornings at breakfast we found the service to be very poor, there was not enough staff and the food was not re-filled in the buffet. I had to ask a couple of times for it to be re-filled but it never was. No one came to our table to take our order so on all three mornings I had to get up and ask someone to take our order (after waiting about 30 minutes). When the food did come it was cold. I stay in hotels all the time and found this really disappointing.
On the other hand the staff at the front desk were really helpful.
Overall not a 5 star experience for the money we spent, and very disappointing.
K. D. W.
The room and views were stunning. We loved the massages and spa area too. We had a great room service dinner and watched the sunset. It was my daughter's favorite stop on the whole trip.

10/10 on the covid safety measures. All was done subtly and I felt so safe. Staff so hard working and friendly. Gorgeous grounds & cocktails were fantastic!
A. L.
We stayed for 3 nights recently , we had been before dining so we decided to come back and stay, the hotel is in a lovely setting spectacular views overlooking the lakes really something when u look out the room window . The room we had was quite large two double beds all the usuall things one expects to find quite a large bathroom no ironing facilities but that was quickly resolved. One of the reasons we decided to return and stay was the food and we were not disappointed it is as good as you will find anywhere we dined almost exclusively here bar one afternoon and were never disappointed, the staff are exceptional very attentive to all ones needs even though the hotel was a little quiet thes time of the year it's great to see that they don't skimp on staff. I personally didn't use the spa facilities but Val did she found them to be off a high standard the pool bias lovely a smallish gym but more than adequate. The hotel itself is lovely inside I found it to be a perfect size the only reason I did not give it a 5 for me comes down to the outside its in need of a lift first impressions are that the whole place needs a power washing and a paint job which is a pity because once inside you won't be disappointed, will we return the answer is yes.
A. D.
Enjoyed an excellent stay in the Aghadoe Heights, coupled with great food and great views.
But what really made this stay stand out from other 5 Star Hotels near by was the staff...from check in to check out they were exceptional, friendly, courteous, and good craic...other "5 Star hotels" could learn alot from the 5star staff here.
Highly recommend this hotel.
Thanks for a great break!
S. K.
Service was absolutely brilliant, rooms were just beyond belief! Lovely extra touches! Dinner was delicious! Had eggs Benedict for breakfast and it was only ok, the ham was grey so didn't eat it. Otherwise than that it was just amazing thank you!
P. S.
The hotel is an impressive amalgamation of modern chic and old-world charm managing to capture the beauty of the surrounding landscape at every turn.
The view from our room framed a stunning vista of the lake and mountains - which wowed us equally on arrival and at adieu (or should I say 'au revoir', because we will most certainly be back).
Our lunch was nothing short of marvellous - probably the best wrap and chowder I've every tasted. The dinner was another absolutely sublime sensory experience; both gustatory and visual with the pianist offering a welcome respite from consciousness!
If I had any dining critique to offer, I would say that the presentation of hot breakfast was noticeably less inspired; but I'm just knit-picking here. I wouldn't have even commented but for the remarkably high standards set by lunch and dinner.
The bar was also a wonderful experience - most definitely heightened by our attentive, charming barman Stephen. He was infallible and could not possibly have been any more helpful, accommodating or affable to our party of three. His banter and insight into the different drinks was one of the highlights of our stay! And his self-constructed cocktail was an absolute pleasure to try!
My only reason for giving 4 stars over 5 was my experience of the pool area. The swimming pool itself is perfectly fine, but for such a stunning hotel, I was quite disappointed by the lacklustre jacuzzi located alongside it. Hot tubs are also one of my favourite ways of relaxing - so was disappointed not to see one at this hotel at all.
This was my only gripe with the otherwise fabulous facilities.
As Arnie used to say, "I'll be back!" :-)
w. r.
Hotel was beautiful. The rooms were nice and had a beautiful view over looking the lakes. The food was top notch. The spa area was lovely all do the pool is very dated and the staris up to it was hard to go down when wet and carrying the little one but overall experiance was very good :-)
m. b.
We have stayed here before and we love the hotel and the setting. We had a suite on this occasion, and it was comfortable, spacious, and pure luxury. We find it hard to relax but this hotel makes it easy. We like a little music in the bar, and I think this should be encouraged.
K. C.
What can I say from we arrived to checkout the experience was nothing but 5*, both staff and hotel was fantastic and the view from the hotel room was simply breathtaking.
All the staff go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable, and not forgetting the added extra of the concierge who taxis you into town in the evenings.
We will certainly be back.
A. T. S.
Went for afternoon tea at Aghadoe Heights at the weekend. Fantastic experience, highly recommend. I didn't catch the name of the waitress that took care of us, she was fab as well. I'll definitely be back, hopefully next time to stay the night.
K. F.
What a find! A cute hotel, very clean and great service. The staff sheltered us during Hurricane Ophelia and went above and beyond to do their best WITHOUT power, gas and water. The manager was amazing as was Kieran our server who worked for more than 24 hours straight during the storm. Highly recommend!!
S. O.
This hotel is top class. The staff are so welcoming and accommodating. When we arrived we were upgraded to a beautiful suite as it was my fiancé's 40th birthday and they wanted to make our return stay even more special. The staff in the reception, bar and restaurant were very pleasant & we really enjoyed our time there. The view is breath taking and the fact we got sunshine made the trip even more superb. We have stayed on 3 occasions now and will return again. I would recommend a visit if you are looking for some R&R and an escape from the stresses of every day living. It is magical here.
B. B.
One of the best hotels we stayed at in Ireland. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. One of the nice things for my husband and I was that they have free bus transportation to town and you just have to get a taxi back. The taxi ride is very reasonable as well. Everything we experienced with this hotel was beyond amazing.
Y. B.
We stayed here for my husbands 40th and went Thurs & Fri night. We arrived down exhausted as we've 3 kids under 4. From the minute we arrived every staff member was so cheery and polite without being annoying. The spa is amazing and again staff were really nice & normal with no stuffiness or notions in them considering it was a 5 Star hotel and the number of awards on the wall. The treatments were amazing and the products they used were gorgeous. The fig & vanilla lotion is on my must get list. !!! The bar & wait staff were also extremely friendly. What I really liked was that probably 95% of the staff were Irish. Breakfast & dinner were really tasty. I thought portions might be a bit small at dinner for my hungry husband but it was just the right amount. If I had to make a criticism it would be that the deco was slightly dated in parts and reminded us of when we were on a cruise ship for our honeymoon. the pool area was a little grubby (sand /dirt on the pool floor) as well. Beds were very comfy though and the view from our room 213 was stunning. Defo would love to come back again. It was just what we needed to recharge the batteries, I just wish I could bring all the spa smells home with me haha. Thanks to everyone there.
J. O.
Aghadoe Heights is a unique venue in a stunning location. It well and truly deserves it's 5 Star status. The amenities and accommodation are excellent but it is the staff that made out stay at Aghadoe so memorable. The welcome we received was warm and friendly and throughout our stay the genuinely friendly staff did everything possible to make us feel at home. We will definitely be back.
M. K.
Aghadoe heights is a 5 star experience without being fussy or pretentious . The staff were friendly and professional. The food was delicious and breakfast with Breda is a unique experience and not to be missed. All the staff are excellent especially Noreen and Christine on the front desk. The porters , cleaning staff , bar and dining staff all deserve a mention. GM Jason has a "well run ship". We keep revisiting and we will be back.
V. C.
Amazing views of the valley from the hotel. Food sucks for vegetarians, only 2 options. Service is fine, and spa services seems like they are always in a rush to finish the massages.
A. L.
Lovely friendly staff food was amazing and well priced.
Loved the tennis court and spa.
Fantastic beds very clean and amazing views! Well located for hill walking and Killarney.
J. M.
Ate in the Lakeview restaurant.
Food was excellent, restaurant manager was knowledgeable and friendly and the views were spectacular.
Ambiance was lovely with piano and signing.
Will be back.
P. D.
Best hotel I've ever stayed in. Fabulous room. Amazing comfortable bed ever. Views stunning. Food delicious. But it's the staff that makes this hotel a cut above the rest.Brendan the concierge is brilliant. Will collect and drop into town /train station. Pure gent.and reception staff so nice. If in killarney . Stay here !
N. O. C.
A little dated in decor such as the swimming pool. The scenic views are fantastic. The spa massages were also very good. Solid stay. I would rate the Europe, the muckross park and killarney park higher
D. C. O.
Our upgrade to a suite was an unexpected and pleasant surprise at the start of our honeymoon at the Aghadoe.
This gesture encapsulated the quality of our overall experience with the amazing views and staff ( including Breda, Nathan and Keiran). The food was very good ( the poached chicken did fluctuate; Sunday excellent however on Wednesday not as good) and the breakfasts were out of this world! I particularly enjoyed the backed eggs with artichoke and cheese.
The suite was very luxurious, comfortable and spacious with exceptional views. Overall, while I have stayed in many hotels in Kerry over the years (and Ireland) this was easily the best.
S. B.
Upon arrival we were met by lovely staff. We were looking forward to our stay. However at dinner there was confusion with our package and we felt embarrassed having to provide proof with an email regarding what was included in our stay. Having experienced a family emergency we had to check out early Tuesday morning. I was very annoyed to be presented with a bill much higher than the agreed rate. Our spa treatments which were included on the rate was added onto our bill. I was highly embarrassed at this yet again and felt I had to explain myself and prove with an email. My email confirmation clearly stated what was included yet the guy at the desk told me this was my bill....left feeling really frustrated, angry and embarrassed.
D. C.
A fab hotel we had stayed here before and were delighted with our stay so could not wait to return it was everything we expected it to be only thing the few days passed too fast. Staff friendly food excellent and our room was very comfortable and clean. Would highly recommend this hotel.
J. C.
It's not too far out from the town and far enough for it to be nice and quiet. Very comfortable and friendly as soon as you walk in the door. The Room is nice and big with a magical view of the lakes and mountains, well worth a visit.
S. O.
It took a while to be seated even if the restaurant was empty. The food service was dead slow, it took 20 minutes to get the waiter's attention to be able to order.
On the other hand, the view from the restaurant is nice and cakes were great.
L. B.
Enjoyed every min of our stay. Amazing hotel with superb service. Fab rooms and views! Super food and cocktails. All in all fantastic. We will be back!
T. P.
Loved Aghadoe Heights from the minute I ever stepped foot inside. Got married here in March. couldn't recommend it highly enough. Staff are so pleasant and nothing is to big or too small.Big thanks to Marie the wedding coordinator couldn't have done it without her . Beautiful location looking over the lakes. Couldn't of wished for a better place to have our wedding. Our guests are still talking about it ! Thanks again Aghadoe!
G. H.
The hotel was absolutely flawless. The staff were great. They could not do enough for you. They were so welcoming. The food and drink prices were very fair however i found the quality of food and draught beer very poor.
M. A. M.
Approaching the property we were overwhelmed by the view and underwhelmed by the outside of Aghadoe Heights but as soon as we entered the property we could not have been more impressed with the staff, food, attention to detail in every aspect, and the beautiful contemporary public and very spacious private rooms as well as the spa, pool and workout facilities. Truly beautiful and peaceful property that was so close to everything on our list to see and do.
K. E.
Gets 5 stars just for the view !!! My personal favorite vista, among all the views, including those we had to purchase tours to see - at sunset, with your back to the hotel, hike down the road to the right, and then back up to the inn - panaramic views on both sides of the road, down to the lake on one side, across an expansive valley to the left - modern hotel, large suites
E. D.
Beautiful hotel. Staff are looking very accommodating and genuinely lovely. A perfect location to stay if walking the lakes and fancy a bit of luxury after the long day.
G. E.
I couldn't recommend this place enough. Stunning views and the afternoon tea was exquisite. The vegan options were well thought out and matched the classic tea for quantity and flavour. I'd highly recommend this place. Incredible.

My friend Rita & I checked into The Aghadoe Heights Hotel & Spa on the 8th December 2016, We had a lovely room, we went for a treatment in the Spa, it was Fabulous, we had dinner that night, that was also very nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. The Breakfast was fabulous, alot of variety on the menu. I would highly recommended to go there.
M. K.
My wife and I enjoyed one night at Aghadoe Heights Hotel last week - combining it with a round of golf in Killarney . The friendliness and genuine warmth of all staff members was obvious from the moment we entered the reception area. Upgrading of our allocated room , spectacular views over the lakes and mountains from our room , similar stunning views while having breakfast and little "touches " like being handed bottles of water on leaving the hotel for our golf game, all combined to make this a memorable stay .
A.
Booked afternoon Tea for my wife’s birthday. It was a miserable day with the weather however looking out at the rain in such a cosy setting was first class.
Food was top notch and Maura who looked after us was very accommodating and is excellent at her job. Must book a night away here in the future.
We stay in a 4 star hotel in Killarney town for 2 nights prior to visiting here, wished we had booked the 2 nights at the Aghadoe Heights.
w. s.
Hi I booked the hotel to celebrate partners 60th birthday and couldn't have made a better choice - got off to a great start as we were upgraded to a suite many thanks for that !
We loved the staff from reception to the ladies who came to turn down our bedròom armed with with chocolates .
Had a great meal in the restaurant - and the breakfasts were to die for .
D. H.
The room was spectacular with incredible views of the lake and ruins. The service was impeccable and sincere. The morning breakfast was a delight. The location was perfect for all of our exploring needs.
S. T.
A superb location and friendly staff. If you are able check out the SPA and penthouse suite !! Also, the burger is excellent, make sure you ask for Arsenal fan David.. free shuttle service to and from Kerry Airport.
D. O. N.
From start to finish our stay in Aghadoe was wonderful. The staff are very helpful and pleasant throughout the hotel. The food was superb. Spectacular views from the restaurant. Lovely thermal area.
G. M. C.
Hotel is spotless clean very relaxing with outstanding views staff are top class at their job food and service top class grounds well maintained could do with a bit of trimming
A. M.
The view from the room was incredible. We ate in the bar and enjoyed a few drinks after. The food was delicious. Overall a great experience, look forward to staying in the future.
M. R.
Amazing hotel with very friendly people. I regret I spent only a few days there. Ring of Kerry and Killarney were a real treat. Would highly recommend this Hotel to everyone. The only thing I did"t understand was the position of the flags on their flagpoles. They had the EU flag on the center pole, not the Irish Flag. Country flag always in the CENTER.
L. N.
I arrived at the Aghadoe and was greeted by friendly welcoming smiles, the concierge Brendan was very helpful and chatting and we got checked in immediately and brought straight to our room.
We had lovely food in the restaurant and had a few drinks at the bar where the very friendly and entertaining Stephen kept us topped up.
B. F.
From the minute we arrived Fiona wished me a happy birthday and even though we were early she made the effort to get us our room. We were given a beautiful suite overlooking the mountains and lake outstanding. We had a birthday party/meal that night for 14 people separate from the main restaurant. The staff were excellent and the bit of banter with them was most enjoyable especially receiving a desert plate with happy 50th not bad for someone who had just turned 60. We will return soon. Thanks again Brian and Brid.
J. L.
Amazing experience staying here, so relaxing in a beautiful setting. Staff were polite and helpful and everything was perfect including the food and the room. Thanks to Paul and all the staff for an unforgettable experience
M. R. B.
Such a lovely hotel, not alone is it 5 star but the staff are 5 star in all they can do for you, always encouraging you to relax, no need to rush. I would tell everyone to come visit, a really fantastic atmosphere which makes all the difference. I know it's 5 star but the relaxed friendly atmosphere is what makes it a 5 star you will want to come back to again.
A. M.
Having received a warm genuine welcome at reception on arrival we were escorted to our rooms by the wonderful Breda who extended the warm welcome and was very informative about the property and facilities. Booking spa and dining was equally as trouble free, Spa staff were excellent with my wife being utterly spoilt during her time in the spa and Thermal Suite. Pre dinner drinks and dinner were perfectly relaxed affairs with our hostess (for Table No.1 on 7/1/17) extending every effort to make the meal as enjoyable as possible including organising an off-menu cheeseboard and a birthday treat for my wife.
David (duty manager) was extremely professional and accommodating and proved to be an excellent host.
My wife and I are well accustomed to spending time in 5 star resorts and are extremely pleased to say that our stay in Aghadoe Heights was up there with the very very best.
Special mention to Trish and Patrice for our beautiful room and very kind welcome note.
Thanks you again for a wonderful experience.
A. H.
5 star all the way bar breakfast which was more 4 star, very good menu choice but buffet definitely 4 star. All staff were super & so helpful, would definitely love to return. Look forward to using spa next time 😊
a. m.
my husband and i recently spent one night in the aghadoe heights and we will definitely be returning!
our room, 303, was opulent and luxurious with lovely touches like our personal nespresso machine.
we treated ourselves to afternoon tea sitting in the comfort of the bar while savouring the amazing view over the lakes!
the food, staff and spa facilities were wonderful and all combined to make our stay a memorable one and one we hope to repeat in the vewy near future!

This hotel has a beautiful view, BUT:
*The location is not the best to visit the Ring of Kerry. It would be much better to stay near Killarney park, such as the Killarney Park Hotel or inside the park such as the Muckross Hotel where you could get bicycles and ride in the Park or stay in the Park Hotel of Kenmare in Kenmare a darling town with many nice little shops and restaurants.
*There really are no grounds to speak of so nowhere to walk. The street in front is very narrow and has speedy cars.
*There is a large manufacturing plant between the hotel and the Lake which demishes the ambience.
And a grave yard.
*The ceilings are low in the public areas and give a claustrophobic feel to a beautiful view. The ceilings in the rooms are the same heights as the public areas.
PROS:
*Breakfast was excellent.
*Staff were excellent.
*Room was very nice and beautiful lake view from our room.
L. N.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the minute we arrived staff were so friendly and helpful from reception, to the bar staff and the girls in the spa...Felt so relaxed after our few days. The view from our room was fantastic just loved everything.
Thank you
Lorraine & Adrian Glynn

This place is amazing. Fantastic views, wonderful amenities. Make sure to request, nay, demand a room with a view of the mountains. Can't wait to try the spa next time I come back
R. P.
Everyone from the desk/concierge to the restaurant were top notch professional. We had a lakeside room with a beautiful view. If I had a complaint it was ??? Ok, nothing. Definitely would return.
O. S.
Luxury hotel as it should be - spacious stylish rooms, comfortable bed, proper bathroom - with bath and shower, good food, good mood. All small details are carefully thought through. And scenery panoramic views. Enjoyed stay very much
D.
The scenery is beautiful! The room was lovely, too. However, we called the front desk for help with the air conditioner. Maintenance came and said, "To be honest, I really don't know how to change it either." He kept pushing buttons, and finally said he thought it was working. It wasn't. We just opened the windows and made the best of it. There is only one, rather expensive, restaurant, so you have to take a taxi to Killarney for meals. There's only one plug for American items like curling irons, hair dryers, cell phone chargers, etc., and the ONLY plug in the bathroom is for a razor. It has a little, tiny ironing board and iron. The iron is attached to the board, but it won't reach the end of the board. Extremely difficult to iron anything. That about covers it, I think.

We had a great visit to the aghadoe heights in early June. This is a modern hotel in a beautiful location overlooking the lakes and mountains around Killarney. There are lots to recommend about this hotel, including the pool with great views across the lakes, and the local staff who gave us a trie Killarney welcome. We enjoyed the food and the breakfast was excellent (aside from the porridge which my wife thought could be a bit better). Highly recommend this hotel
K. s.
We had a fantastic time in aghadoe heights . From start to finish I couldn't say enough about our stay . Lovely staff very helpful and the spa was amazing Lisa and clodagh took very good care of us.we did not want to leave . Thanking you all for a lovely stay . Hope to get back soon😊
P. P.
Awesome views of Killarney lakes and mountains, well worth a visit but don't forget your camera
S. M.
This was an exceptional experience and that's no slight praise because we are frequent travelers and have stayed at five star properties around the world. Kudos to Claire Enright and Breda(sp). Jane was a joy as was Keirnan and James, the assistant manage. The front desk staff was great. I hope they all enjoyed my Ghiardelli chocolates. They were all quality professionals. The cuisine was exceptional, the rooms detailed nicely, and the view is second to none. We must come back
T. B.
The atmosphere, ambiance and views were superb!! Service was generally quite good. Mike was tremendously helpful, as was the receptionist staff, the housekeeping staff and most of the bar and restaurant staff. Would highly recommend!!
J. H.
Nice stay. Nice room. Awesome views from the large windows in room and from the deck. Awesome food at the restaurants. But, the staff needs to smile, like they like their job.
M. E.
We were very well looked after with every requests. The breakfast was really nice and Breda was very thoughtful and
very kind. Michael at the front desk could not have been more helpful in both directing us every day , supplying us with water and finally organising bikes for our cyule around Muckross House . We loved the bookmarks on the pillows . Our younger visitors loved the robes and slippers and the pool of course.
K. C.
We've been coming here for 35 years so obviously we love Aghadoe heights. The staff are so good. The rooms are great- location spectacular and the smithwicks from the bar is superb!
A. M.
Spent a relaxing weekend here in November. The staff were very helpful, the food was delicious, the rooms were lovely and there was a great view, despite the weather.
L. T.

g. f.
The facility was in very good condition, and the rooms were extremely nice, with all the necessary conveniences. The next time we come to Ireland we will plan our entire trip around staying at your wonderful Hotel.
J. S.
My husband and I would highly recommend Aghadoe Heights Hotel as wonderful choice for relaxing weekend or for base to sightsee in Ring of Kerry. Our only disappointment was that the massages were fully booked.
M. B.
Brilliant relaxing hotel, good food, and staff friendly. Best rooms are those with view of lakes. We go there to chill out.
P. O. N.
Our trip was a mixture of business and pleasure. Retirement function for Principals and 31st wedding anniversary for my wife and I.Hotel is warm and welcoming and staff are all well clued in to being friendly and helpful.

J. H.
Really enjoyed our stay and the crowning glory for my kids was the dressing gowns in their size! They loved the attention to detail and the friendly staff.
V. B.
Great service, spa experience totally excellent. Food in the lounge good but not great. The deserts, we tried two were very average the breakfast .. poor.
O. D.
Absolutely love this hotel..The location and view alone speaks volumes .I have been going here for years and years. Everything about the place sings of class and style.
G. O. C.

Great hotel with friendly staff and the food is great too!
Stay here and you won't be let down.
Lovely part of the country
D. D.
Lake view suite was fabulous.
Staff was extremely friendly and exceptionally helpful. Our only critique would be the entrance and signage which were below the standard throughout.
A. O. (.
A beautiful relaxing hotel in wonderful surroundings. The views are breathtaking and the staff are so helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended the Aghadoe for a night away.
I. M. C.
Had a great relaxing night here with my wife. The spa was excellent, staff friendly with the only let down being the tv reception in the room which was poor at best.
E. J.
This Hotel is a gem, it is a beautiful location - peace and tranquility
We stayed as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) and nothing was too much for the staff very friendly welcoming and respectful
10/10 definatley will be back - come as a guest and leave as family is definatley true - a home away from home 👍🏼

My Husband and i spent 2 nights to celebrate a milestone birthday and we couldn't have chosen better,we received a lovely welcome a gorgeous room with lake views, which was such a treat. We ate gorgeous food and the staff were wonderful also, especially the lovely lady on breakfast duty, she was so homely and just a lovely warm person.we did enjoy a few celebratory drinks and if i had to throw in a negative the price of these drinks were a little on the high side.Overall a wonderful stay and we will be back!
A. M.

Everything is nice except standing shower is small and the shower head does not move it should move in any direction. There not much trash cans if you have to throw the garbage it is hard to find.
Z. F.
Nice place but not up to scratch for a 5 star hotel. Lacking a lot of customer service.
