Nice spot to go to. We had lunch there . Fish and chips. Not the greatest, I think it was close to it use by date. Chicken wings were good. My sister had steak. It was excellent. Service was slow as we had to keep trying to get the attention of a staff member. Decor is excellent. I did note they were under staff be on the day. As in previous times iv been here it was always excellent. Benefit of doubt on to his visit

A beautiful Hotel. The only reason it is getting 4 stars is due to no air con in the bedrooms. A fan is supplied. On our stay the temperature was over 25 degrees and the fan was a necessity. Staff were excellent and helpful. A great hotel. If you're staying, do ask for a room to the front of the hotel. Views of the harbour are excellent.

Unfortunately mediocre in everything. Poor breakfast, pre cooked items delivered hurriedly by disinterested staff. My wife was just starting her fresh fruit for breakfast when a blisteringly hot plate of eggs arrived. The eggs had clearly been sitting for a while and had developed that colour that eggs form when sitting around. She attempted to eat them but gave up 1/4 way in. In fairness the ingredients I had on my plate were decent. Good sausage. On day 2 we both tried the pancakes, they appeared to be either packet pancakes warmed up, or sat around for a while before being served. Day 2 was a Sunday and the croissants were stale. Service in the bar for evening food was atrocious, a drinks menu was thrown out and no-one came back. I’ve given it 3 stars, because of the location but wouldn’t go back.

Wonderful location for a stay in Kinsale, staff there are top notch and the rooms are magnificent, we went for a night for my partners birthday and they upgraded our room to a suite when they learned that, and the staff in the leisure centre were excellent also. Just back from a stay at this lovely hotel. Spacious, bright, spotless room with lovely view of the harbour. Bathroom looked brand new, spotless. Staff were friendly and efficient. Check in and out was speedy. Had dinner in SYDNEY'S restaurant, fabulous food and lovely comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Lovely outdoor seating area.Will definitely be back.

I worked in this Hotel in the Summer of 2006 on placement from College. Unfortunately, I hadn't been back since. I stayed with my wife in August in the mist of the pandemic. The experience was excellent and operating safely under the Covid-19 guidelines. The roof was spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rate was very competitive and of course the location is very central. The breakfast was good and was provided in the function room which meant plenty of space between tables. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the nostalgia it brought. We'll be back.

Recently my partner and i got married in Actons hotel. To say that we are delighted with the place is a total understatement. The hotel is amazing. Their attention to detail was inspiring, and given the fact that we got married during a pandemic they made it as stress free for us as possible. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are so comfy. The staff where all so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend a vist, as the location is not half bad either

Still recommend regardless the view. It is outstanding hotel with amazing atmosphere.

Nice hotel in a very central location. The staff are excellent and very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and spacious with high quality toiletries supplied in the en suite bathroom. The food at the hotel is also very good. The hotel is a bit dated however with old fashioned keys to the rooms. Unfortunately the bed and pillows were disappointing and offered little support and was the reason I took away from my rating.

We first stayed here on our Honeymoon, 10 years ago & have been back at least once a year since. Love the feel of the place. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Good food and drinks. Breakfast will set you up for the day!!. Decent pool, gym and spa, which has been re-furbed over the last few months. The old Citroen van on the lawn in the Summer, set up as a bar was smashing. If you want old world charm, you get it here. Rooms are old style but extremely clean and comfortable, with all the mod cons. Enjoy 😎

I stayed in this hotel for two nights. It was pleasant and comfortable. Some aspects of the rooms seem outdated, but this adds to the charm. The keys used are interesting. My favorite things about this hotel were the jugs of still and sparkling water in the room and the view! The location was also ideal for a day of shopping and exploring the cute town of Kinsale. I would stay here again!

The staff were pleasant and helpful (I was even offered a coffee while waiting here for a very early morning taxi to the airport). Love Actons Hotel!! We first visited the hotel 2yrs ago for a wedding. It was brilliant. We had an amazing stay. We stayed last weekend with our 2 girls and they loved it. There's a great little playground nearby and the cruise of the harbour is very good! The food is lovely (the carbonara was amazing!!), the atmosphere is chilled n relaxed. Would recommend for a weekend away with / without the kids!!

Had afternoon tea here as a mini baby shower for my friend. We couldn't have been better looked after. Spent the whole day there and never felt pressure to leave. It was wonderful for a relaxing catch up.

We booked two rooms. Both were quite nice, spacious and bright, with firm beds and tall windows. Hotel is located just down the road from the thick of the Kinsale tourist scene and set back from the road. There is a nice lawn area in front of the hotel, just across the street from the harbor, with tables and an outdoor bar. Breakfast included many options, with a buffet and (included) hot dishes to order. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

Place, services and staff is amazing. They are very receptive to your needs. Rooms are cozy and have a nice view out of the window. Though not small in any way, slightly bigger bathrooms would have been a great addition. I have not tried so can't say anything about the food.

I am a little unsure of how to rate Acton's. We paid extra for a view of the harbor and it was gorgeous. Our room was lovely and the staff superb. The downside of Acton's, at least on the weekends, is the party atmosphere...weddings, bus loads of golfers, etc. The bar is open until 4 am and it is hard to get a good night's sleep. If the windows are open, it is raucous and loud. If the windows are closed then the room is very stuffy.

We loved as we were arriving that the hotel is literally right across the street from the river, centrally located, really the perfect spot. What we really LOVED about the place was the staff. Kim at the front desk was particularly amazing, she spent each day with us going through ideas of day trips, looking at our guide book and helping map out things which were NOT the typical way to do it, and they all proved to be great ideas. She was incredibly helpful and so warm and lovely. The entire staff was really great, from the people who run the bar/restaurant to Chloe who was running breakfast each and every morning with a smile. We had a great experience.

Incredible. EUR 115 for a room that has a single bed in a separate room and a double in the other. Great for family with one child. I'm sure they Have other rooms that suit larger families. Really good service, really clean. Breakfast buffet and kitchen orders included in that price. Food is excellent. Location is excellent. Loads of parking. Couldn't ask more and would have expected to pay closer to 200e/night. Really impressed.

Overall good, the rooms on the back of the hotel are on a back street right outside the second floor window which is quite noisy. With windows closed is was too warm. I suspect the room in the front of the hotel do not suffer from these issues. Other wise the breakfast was very good. We ate at a Fishy Fishy which was very good. Menu was limited to fish though. Kinsale is a beautiful town and the hotel stay very restful.

I've always liked Actons. It's a centrally located hotel in the heart of kinsale. It features a lovely bar area and an expansive front lawn. It now also features a gym and fitness area. Well worth a look for an afternoon drink or an overnight stay, particularly if you are fitness inclined.

Later, found out I was supposed to flip a switch so they need instructions. Could not charge phone until we were back on bus. Food great, but service poor. Nicest room for 3 people (queen bed w/ 2 twins vs. the usual 3 twins) we have had on our weeklong trip thus far. The morning breakfast was top notch with waitstaff everywhere to take orders/clear tables. During the day, the bar area is great for lounging, eating, or bellying up. The wifi in the room was pretty bad but great downstairs which is not ideal but not the end of the world. Didn't lift weights here but swam in the pool and visited the sauna which was a nice perk. Location is absolutely perfect as well for walking around as well so overall, I didn't see anywhere else in town I would stay other than Actons.

Lovely place to stay. Very comfortable beds, amazing rainforest shower in my room. Downside - only a few tv channels available on telly and leisure centre is in a separate building, so not ideal to walk in or out from the hotel when it's 0 degrees and pissing rain outside :) Bar food is very tasty. Breakfast also nice. I was missing a cozy area to sit comfortably, the couches in the bar and lounge areas were not very comfy and mostly taken (tuesday night, middle of February)

Stayed here one night and was very impressed. Great value for the price. Call for rates bcos it was cheaper than website rates. Delicious hot breakfast was included. The gym has everything, free weights, cardio, pool is awesome. Parking is tight but when we were here, there were ample spaces. Room was spacious and clean.
