g. k.Hotel was first class. All areas of the hotel were clean and inviting. Great view from room window. Room was large and well set out. All the staff from front desk, waiting staff and housekeeping were polite and extremely helpful. Food was well prepared and expertly served. Had both breakfast and evening meal which were of a very high standard. Price for the 3 nights was very competitive and great value. Will definitely stay again.

They managed to check us in early and our room had a simply stunning view. The breakfast was divine. It's the standard fare but done really, really well. We look forward to coming back again.

More detail on the cons parking is tight I would think especially in peak season, we arrived in off peak season and when we arrived there was 4 spaces left yet only 20 staying in the hotel? Next morning there was only about 20 cars parked not sure where everyone else had gone.
When we went to check in my parents who went away at the same time as us and also to the same hotel had checked in, they had originally booked a standard double room but upon checking in got a free upgrade to a superior double which was nice for them. We checked in and had paid for a junior suite and thought maybe we might get an upgrade also but no this did not happen even though the rooms were empty. This took some of the excitement away for us as everyone else seemed to get a room upgrade except ourselves.
We go to our room which was well presented but we are disappointed by the view one window looks out onto the carpark and the other has a partial view of the harbour and the few boats that are tied to the dock. Bathroom is a separate shower and bath. We go down to my parent’s room and its almost identical slightly smaller but with a much better view straight out looking at the harbour and the surrounding view of the ocean and boats instead of the side view we have of them and the carpark. Bathroom is the exact same layout as that of the junior suite. Total disappointment considering we paid a lot more than my parents the extra money is not represented in the view you get.
There was someone in the room behind us and as the headboard of our bed backs onto their wall where the TV is mounted, we got to listen to what they were watching for the night the TV was on 24/7 anytime we were in the room you could hear it. The hotel could do with taking the TV off the wall and placing it maybe on a table that or more sound deadening between the rooms.
The bed while big is another disappointment don’t get me wrong its comfy enough, but its two single mattresses pushed together you can feel the split when you roll over very uncomfortable and about as romantic as going to the dentist again considering we paid for a junior suite it did not give off that vibe more of this is what we have slap it together it will be fine it felt cheap and that is not what we paid for experience wise. Again, my parent’s room did not have this weird setup they had a king mattress in their room and not two single mattresses.
I am not sure if this is in all junior suites or just ours but at 6am both mornings we were woken up by loud banging noises coming from the ceiling the first morning I thought it might be rain hitting the roof as we are the highest floor but upon looking out the window it was fine, it turned out the noise was coming from the bathroom where pipes are more then likely ran for either heating/water or both I understand the pipes have to be ran somewhere but could they not be run in the corridor instead of the room? This did not give the relaxing experience we were looking to find from our stay to be woken at 6am while away. I asked my parents who are light sleepers and said they never heard any banging noises at 6am.
The most important question is would we stay again. The answer is yes but we would never book a junior suite again instead we would book a superior double save ourselves some extra money as you get the same perks but a better view, comfort of an actual king bed and not two single mattresses pushed together, and no noise at 6am.

a. k.Have lunch here with my mum often enough. We come down from cork city especially! It never lets us down and is always such a nice atmosphere. Food is always fantastic and staff are so nice and chatty. Our server Karen, a blonde lady was so accommodating and a great personality. She even gives our dog a biscuit every time we come. 10/10 it’s my fav spot!!
s.Hotel room was fabulous, breakfast was great and quality of food is awesome. We stayed for 2 nights to celebrate birthday and room had a great view of the river. If I visit kinsale again I will choose Trident again. Bathroom had both the standing shower and the bath tub, it was neat and tidy. Only thing they improve on is the Parking space, they are bit tight on that.

We stayed in the junior suite and the view was fantastic from the room. Also the staff had the room set up gorgeous with prosecco and flowers that my boyfriend had organised. The area for outdoor drinks was so cute and it's very central to town only a few mins walk.
The breakfast menu had so many delicious options too.
10/10 highly recommended and we will definitely be returning

W.My husband and I had our wedding meal and celebrations at the Trident (pre-pandemic - I’ve been very slack to write our review sorry!) but we loved both the rooms and the food (some guests said it was the best food at a wedding they’d ever had). Working with Anthony was brilliant, especially as we were organising it from abroad with only one trip to the venue pre-event(!) - he went above and beyond to make us happy and keep us on budget. Looking forward to returning in the near future!

M.Stayed here for 5 nights recently ,we were apprehensive about how things would be due to COVID-19 but were delighted that it was all very normal and also felt safe with hand sanitising stations and face coverings worn in all public spaces. We had a harbour view room which was beautiful and had wonderful views across the bay. Food was very good in restaurant and breakfast had a great selection of hot and cold foods ,full Irish was amazing,and all served to your table, the manager came round every morning for a chat which was a lovely touch.
Overall an excellent stay would definitely recommend and definitely be back. Thanks to all the lovely staff.

M.This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel. It's ideally located with wonderful views overlooking the harbour. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfy and the bathrooms are clean and modern. The breakfasts are delicious and the Pier One dining room offers a wonderful view overlooking the River Bandon. I got there at sunrise and it was breathtaking to see the colours reflected in the water. The Trident Restaurant is also fantastic and provides delicious fresh food in a warm, rustic environment throughout the day.

S. T.Stayed for three nights in September in a junior suite with an incredible view of the harbour. We then spent a further two nights in a five star hotel in Wicklow and have got to say Trident won hands down for service, food and the most pleasant staff we have ever come across. The manager was always visible and making sure guests were happy. The breakfast was very well organised, cooked to order and served to the table . So in short , it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, the only complaint we have is you're so far from Belfast but Kinsale is such a beautiful place it's worth the journey. Well done Trident.
D. G.Our "staycation" this year and we went to the Trident in Kinsale. Our first time away since lockdown. Have to compliment the hotel on their social distance policy. Everything done in a very safe and professional way. From the friendly greeting at reception to the excellent service from the guys in the bar and restaurant myself and my wife felt very comfortable. We had a fabulous room overlooking the harbour that had excellent measures in place to make us feel very safe. Even though everyone had only been back to work for a few days when we arrived they were brilliant. Thank you all. We will be back. PS. The food was great also .

In these difficult times they need to learn to treat customers with more respect. Lest not forget that without customers there is no business! Would be slow to stay there again.

K. B.The Trident should be a better hotel. It has everything going for it. It's bang in the centre of a busy tourist town and it overlooks the bay. Personally i feel it could be a great hotel but it isn't. The exterior for me looks out of place. It is a mixture of wood and metal but it feels like it doesn't belong and that is how a lot of the hotel feels to me. The design is disjointed. A peaceful theme is missing. Staff are courteous but they miss the simple things that great hotels have, like the ability to make small talk or the offer of help with one's luggage. Those things make a difference. The bar does have an outside covered area which can make for a pleasant time sipping a coffee or having a meal. This hotel has had it's fair share of poor luck in recent years and I hope it gets better because it feels like it has a lot of potential to be better than just ok.

We spent the first afternoon enjoying the room and relaxing surroundings before exploring the area. Many stressful jobs are hard to leave at the office when starting a holiday. D. S.We originally booked a "deluxe" room with a harbour view. What we were greated with was room 101 with a view of a great big tour bus. (We were told that once the bus moved (sometime the next day) we would have a view. We moved rooms which was an improvement. But ventilation of the room for sleeping meant keeping the blind up and keeping a window partially open. Such an arrangement resulted in a brightly lit room (because of outside security lighting). Not the best for sleeping.
Breakfast was great and staff in the dinning room were wonderful.

K. H.Front desk staff is not so friendly. Our room is tiny with a view of the building next door, not the water that nearly every other room has a view of. Our room seems a mile away from reception/lift - all other exits are emergency only. Hot breakfast was ok, but cold breakfast buffet was not appealing. Probably our worst accommodations on our ten day trip.
