j. a. j.It's conveniently close to a lot of things but not too close that it is noisy with traffic or passersby. The bed was comfortable, room was cozy, and the chocolate was a nice touch. The staff was friendly and the warm wine was also great. We weren't able to try their restaurant though. Maybe next time.
D. O.Lovely friendly staff the room was spotless, with plenty of space. We had to change rooms due to an issue with the plumbing something that can happen anywhere. We were given another room and sorted within 15 minutes with no problems. The food in the bar was amazing best roast beef dinner I have had for a long time. Will stay again
K.The room was a little hot with only a fan to cool us down. But they were so so welcoming always kind and helpful at reception, our names were on the TV and they had chrome casting available which made the experience even better. Plenty of hot water, tea and other essentials. I'd recommend for a weekend away as it's so close to the town and train station

I gave 4 stars because I stayed there for 2 nights and the noise from outside in the day was very high but also in the evening there was a lot of roaring and singing from people outside nearby pubs and bars found it hard to sleep properly.

j. d.Being disabled and needing an accessible room it was ok, the combination of short screen doors and shower curtains was more a hindrance than a help, plus no room service I like to have my meals in room as it saves me trying to manoeuvre my walking aid round tables and disrupting other diners, had an evening meal downstairs which was fine as not many people in at the time we were in but thankfully first table inside door was empty, staff were nice n friendly

p. f.Wouldn't go back. It was fine. Maybe 20 car parking spaces so make sure you get there just after checkout to get one. Breakfast doesn't make much sense given the covid restrictions. Self-service so everybody touches the same untinsels and lids for the trays of food.
If it says room service available , what they actually mean is take away from the bar and when the bar stops serving food at 9.30, so does "room service".
Bar/restaurant staff were excellent.
When I say restaurant I mean the bar as the restaurant was not an option.

C. S.We stayed there as a family of 5. The room was very spacious and comfy. No air conditioning but there was a fan left in the room so that's ok. Room was spotless. Wifi wasn't great but we can live with that, and parking was limited but you can park across at quay or the back of Treaceys hotel. Food was delicious. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and also very attentive. A young staff member by the name of Anna was a great asset to the hotel. She waited on us Fri and Sat night and was so genuinely lovey. Very attentive, always smiling, very helpful. Well done Anna. We have stayed here twice now and we will be back.
n. e.Family bedroom was huge, we also happened to have a great room view, 301, the bath/shower unit however was very small..but adequate. Ouble bed size was small and mattress hard and dipping toward the middle. Hotel rules did not allow guests to eat in the bar, if they werent staying in the hotel, understandable, but it put us out in terms of meeting family for dinner, and extremly hard to get dinner elsewhere in the city, for a large family...
C.Friendly staff, delicious food, soundproof walls between each room. Great atmosphere. Everything is provided in the rooms. Highly recommended

C.It was very good, staff very friendly hotel very clean.We only stayed one night and ate in the bar which infortunatley you cannot prebook your table and it was extremly busy.The food was lovely but we were put at a table beside the opening which led directly to the toilet,I did ask for another table but there were no others available and people were waiting for tables.The smell from the toilets was very unplesant and got worse as evening went on.We did voicr our concern as to the placing of the table when we were leaving and the staff were very apologetic.

The only negative side was the breakfast. If we stayed one night only it would be ok but to see ecery morning same things is disappointing. No ham or cheese, no yogurt. The last morning we ordered fried eggs, that was lovely.

M. D.I was part of a large group that booked our Christmas party night with this hotel and can say that the staff were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Hotel is modern and comfortable with beautiful rooms and comfy beds. The food was excellent as was the music for our party. Location is excellent and while parking is limited at hotel parking is available on the quays close by. This hotel offers great value for money and have no hesitation in recommending for groups, couples or solo travelers. Thank you we had a great stay and will be back.

C.Lovely hotel and rooms and staff are very nice it's in a great location close to everything so that's great, but the smell out of the building was bad though honestly smelt like someone toke a dump in the hall .. everything other than that was perfect restaurant could do with a bit of music playing or something very quite and depressing in there felt like I was at a funeral or waiting to be called in the dentist
K. H.We stayed at the Fitzwilton August 11th-13th 2019. We were very pleased with the penthouse suite and best available bed and breakfast package. We received a complimentary bottle of champagne and plate of macaroons. Not sure if that's standard for the suite or because we were there for our honeymoon. Staff is attentive and accommodating. The train station is a short walk and everything worth seeing is within easy walking distance from the hotel. The full Irish breakfast was good and the whole experience was worth every penny. No regrets!
A. G. U.Modern rooms, nice staff and free parking. Rooms were roasting though and bed was slightly hard. I was annoyed to get a small piece of chicken in my vegetarian curry which makes me wonder if the chef is using the same utensils for cooking vegetarian and non vegetarian food.
G. W.A lovely hotel with next to no parking, really nice interior, rooms are some of the nicest in Waterford and bath towels that actually go round you lol. Windows can tightly shut so, peace a quiet no outside noise when you snore the night away. Restaurant is good and not too bad of a selection. Staff are very helpful and if you need parking they do anything they can to help you. Good early breakfast 7am.

S. L. C.Super Hotel absolutely fantastic stay my partner and I had here. The Hotel is very modern and clean. The Staff were all extremely pleasant and well-mannered. The general aroma in the whole hotel was very nice and relaxing. The Hotel was very warm but not too warm even when it was freezing outside. Rooms were very large and spacious with a brand new TV. Food in both the Bar (Met) and the Restaurant (Chef K) was absolutely second to none. Had a beautiful dinner in the Bar it was even so nice we tried it twice. Large servings which were well presented and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was top class with a large buffet selection of food and tasted top notch. Can't say one bad word about the experience a superb hotel at average prices. Would 10/10 recommend a friend and go back there myself.

Friendly, knowledgeable, recommended a great place for us for dinner and drinks. The hotel is well maintained with just few light marks in the corridors. The room was super clean and pleasant. M. W.Decent breakfast. The eggs were very watery though. Plenty of other options however. The hotel bar food (The Met Bar) was Irish and American food. The bar prices for drinks are very adequate and more then reasonable. The rooms were alright. There were no tissues in the room. They had a fan for us during this "heat wave" already in the room. The full size bed had a slab of wood under it which made it very uncomfortable. Also there are no sheets on the bed just a comforter and the pillows were not fluffy but not a big deal.

The location is super as it's just a stones throw from bus and train stations. The rooms are very spacious. First thing we noticed was the warmth getting in on a cold night.. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming and just couldn't do enough for you. The food is really great. Breakfasts are amazing. Looking forward to staying there again. Would highly recommend the Fitzwilton Hotel..

b. C.Nicely decorated room. Very very warm. Had to turn radiator off and open the window. I was in a room at the front of the building and with the very noisy traffic and traffic lights just outside the window we just had to close it again to try get some sleep. The extractor fan in the bathroom was out of order, not good. The bar was the most inefficient I had ever come across. Impossible to get service and only half a dozen people in the place when we were there. Breakfast was nice, buffet style and plenty of food. The car park was a total nightmare. Very small and very awkward and we waited in our car for the best part of an hour to obtain a parking space. Reception staff were pleasant though

K. M.Modern clean hotel and easy to find. Staff all lovely, friendly and helpful. Colin the manager kindly and professionally corrected an error made on our dining bill and reception staff helped with parking arrangements when carpark was full on a wild rainy November night. Food was delicious especially the hake and breakfast was generous. Decor did not create warmth or atmosphere, it was all too impersonal. Check in was smooth and lifts available to upper floors. Doors along corridors closed quietly but hum of air conditioner or generator from my room at back was quite loud so I was glad I brought my ear plugs. Room well supplied including a fan which is appreciated by me as I usually find hotel rooms too hot and this one was no exception. Bonus point for environmental awareness of unnecesary laundry. The only black mark I give the hotel is the location of always-on ceiling green 'emergency' light inside the bedroom. Staff say it cannot be turned off or dimmed for health and safety reasons. It is very bright in a dark bedroom giving the effect of a light on all the time. (Photo doesnt show the real glow effect) Most distracting to those of us who like to sleep in the dark. Totally unnecesary in my view and not a safety feature I have come across in other hotels...a fact also shared by the hotel staff!! Annoying enough to prevent me returning to the hotel again as it disturbed my precious night sleep.

M.I've been waiting since I arrived to get an kettle to make an an cup of tea it is now midnight checked in over four hours ago then there is meant to be a no smoking policy not one sign to say that in the rooms or hotel area now this Lady that seems to be I charge keeps coming to my door and saying stop smoking out the window when most guest are doing the very same so for me this hotel falls well short of five stars
J. S.I spent two separate weeks at the hotel and was happy with the experience. My key card stopped working a day before my checkout during both weeks which was rather ironic; however the staff happily fixed the problem right away. The rooms were comfortable and well kept throughout my stays.
I are numerous dinners at the Met bar/cafe and was happy with every dish. The restaurant staff friendly every time and usually fast with the exception of Friday evening when they were packed with customers so understandably busy. I was a bit indecisive about my side choice on that visit and the bartender made up for the slower service by giving my both choices.
Overall I was happy with everything and will gladly stay again on my future visits.

C. C.I'm not as happy with this hotel as I am with other hotels in Waterford. The rooms are nice, but small. The restaurants are pricey, but the quality of the food doesn't really justify the price to me. The breakfast falls short...
And it's at the very end of the Quay, a good 10-20 minute walk from in-town entertainment and the Viking Triangle.
It just doesn't quite make the cut for me, although there's nothing particularly wrong about it.
A. K.Spent two nights here. This hotel is well located in Waterford city close to everything in the city centre. Our room was well furnished and very comfortable and we had lovely meals in the hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
The car park is a bit small, so you might have to park elsewhere, particularly later in the afternoon. However parking in the area is reasonably priced and easy to find along the quays.
Would definitely recommend it.

O.Booked 4 days away with my wife for our 1st year wedding anniversary and they couldn't have been more helpful especially the manager colm who had a bottle of champagne on ice with little assortment of deserts waiting in our room for us really made us feel welcomed will definitely be returning as staff from reception to bar to waitress are a credit to this hotel and the location could also not be better

Stayed in the Penthouse Suite €209 DBB great deal class 5* room overlooking the Bridge and River Suire staff a credit to the hotel.
R. G.Location is cramped behind the main waterfront, and the beds are like sleeping on planks of wood. Food/dining was very good, though and you could walk 5-15 minutes to many other eating and shopping options. If I ever come back, I will like stay on the other end of the waterfront way...

I loved my room at Fitzwilton Hotel. The staff are all wonderful and hugely accommodating. My hotel room was quite large with a massive bed and it had quite a few tv channels to chose from which can be rare in hotels. The WiFi was quite patchy in my room on the 4th floor which was a little disappointing. The breakfast was nice a help yourself buffet layout which I like very much, however I wish they would also put out fried eggs as well as scrambled because the are what a full Irish is about. I would stay at the Fitzwilton again but if you are sensitive to noise it can get loud in the morning as it is right by the main road leading into the city, we unfortunately had to leave our window open as it was seasonally hot in July this year. Still very nice and very good hotel. To the all the staff at the Fitzwilton thank you very much for all your help and facilitating any needs that I had, appreciate it.
B. C.Rooms as basic. Could do with a make over. The staff were great from reception, house keeping, breakfast room, the bar staff with the help of the chef were friendly and went out of their way for use on Sunday evening.

The family bedroom was very comfortable and cosy.
I only have 1 complaint about my stay the room got very warm in the night so had to sleep with window open that meant leaving the curtains open consently throughout the 2 nights stay.
