m. f.I have felt very welcome since I arrived on Sunday. All Covid rules are well observed by staff and guests. The hotel is beautifully decorated. Food is very good quality and staff are friendly and helpful . Would be delighted to come back for a visit 😀 unfortunately I became ill a day before I was due to leave. I needed an antibiotic. The staff on the reception helped with all of this, including uncharged room service. Even the manager phoned me to check was I alright and told me not to hesitate to contact him if I needed anything. There is no price can be put on this level of care for clients. I am very happy with the Plaza Hotel and all the staff. I will most definitely return.
L. S.Stayed here with 2 friends in February, originally meant to stay in January but had to postpone. Hotel were very accommodating changing dates and we were really happy with the rate which included breakfast and a 3 course meal.
They room had a double bed single bed and a double sofa bed made up to accommodate us all but there were only 2 robes, 2 slippers and 2 cups and 2 coffee pods. I phoned reception about this and the cups and coffee were sorted but not the extra robe, no big deal anyway.
Dinner was fabulous and we were given a free glass of prosecco each, lovely thought.
We also used the spa which was lovely but due to the rain didn't use the outside jacuzzi.
Great breakfast the next morning also. Thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely stay again.

Central location within walking distance of all Westport has to offer. Everything about to the hotel was excellent, the staff the room and most of all the breakfast in Coveys!

M. R.From start to finish our stay was great. Only left today but already can't wait to return. Staff were lovely everywhere. Front desk so helpful. Had an issue with our window which was quickly sorted by Fiona and a lovely handy man called Pat who also gave us great tips on where to see beautiful places like Achill. Food was gorgeous. Breakfast so well ran and organised. Definitely a well ran hotel with brilliant staff. Well done to you all. Fab jacuzzi bath in the bathroom. Overall brilliant few days. Lovely lad named Luke served us our dinner. Will be back.
S.Just back from a fabulous few days in the Plaza. Room was so spacious and comfortable and the jacuzzi bath was bliss!! The food, from the French toast at breakfast to the garlic bread and fillet steak at dinner was absolutely top class, probably the best we've ever had!! Service too was excellent and the staff, especially Dimitri, Seamus, Niamh and Ferghal (just to mention a few) made our stay that more special, they were all so friendly, efficient, and very professional. I have to give a special mention too to Monika, the restaurant supervisor who made time to chat to us on several occasions and who went above and beyond to make sure we were all happy, she's a true asset to the hotel! We're only back home a day and already wish we were back there!! Can't wait to visit again!

E. C.Visited the hotel this evening for drinks. The surroundings were very comfortable and we felt welcome from the first minute. However the thing we were happiest with was the service from our server Sophie. She was accommodating and friendly, and made sure that we were looked after as well as chatting with us about the town. We will be sure to visit again because of Sophie.

Any reservations I would have is that the friendliness of the staff when communicating over the phone or via email was curt. When ordering room service this was not ideal as there was items ordered that we never recieved. Overall these downfalls did not majorily impact our stay.

Upon arrival to the room the interior was beautiful our room was exceptionally clean and spacious. The timing on our in room breakfast was brilliant and also quality of food was next to none. The food in "coveys" was astonishing. Staff was very helpful, polite and well trained. The bar was very nice place also to watch the football. Couldn't recommend this hotel more I have nothing bad too say.

M.Stayed September, we felt safe as the hotel has good measures in place to protect everyone from covid . Our room was excellent and the staff pleasant and courteous.During our stay we dined in the Plaza Bar where the menu covers all tastes looked after by front of house James.
We had a beautiful breakfast in the mornings and would have no reason not to return to Westport Plaza .

T. K.What can I say only a special Thank you to Both Westport Plaza and Castlecourt hotels. On our annual family gathering for 2020 we choose both hotels. We were so well looked after from the staff in the group bookings department when trying to match our needs, to the reception staff when we were leaving the hotels. It was so easy for us, accommodation, food, entertainment, all superb. And the real 5 Star REVIEW goes to the staff.

c. w.We had a fantastic stay here recently for our anniversary. We upgraded to a gold package and had afternoon tea and dinner in the bar included. From the minute we arrived, the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic room and afternoon tea and dinner were both really enjoyable. The hotel was within walking distance to the town which was huge bonus not to have to use the car. We used the thermal spa the following day, was so peaceful and relaxing. Couldn't fault our stay and we will definitely return. We rarely get time away together and the hotel was the perfect escape for us.

S. S.Always love staying in the Westport Plaza it's one of our favourite hotels to just chill out and enjoy what it has to offer. The rooms are lovely and the hotel itself is spotless. The spa is one of the best around. The food is amazing in both the bar and restaurant. One thing I noticed this time around is that the restaurant staff at both breakfast and dinner were not the most pleasant. They look stressed out, rushing around the place and a tad unmannerly. However it seems the same staff are on for breakfast in the restaurant, lunch in the bar and again in the restaurant that evening so I imagine they are just tired by the time it comes to serving dinner at night which is understandable. Maybe switching around shifts would help as I feel dinner is supposed to be relaxing for guests and I feel I didn't relax looking at them all running around the place looking stressed out. Saying that the food is amazing and I would definitely return. It's just something management may need to look in to. Overall a lovely couple of days away as always.

Dinner in the Merlot restaurant was excellent as usual, breakfast is cooked to order and much better than a hot buffet. There was good live music in the adjacent Castlecourt Hotel and the pint of Guinness was excellent.
I. B.The service by staff was excellent. Hotel was lovely and everyone friendly and helpful. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Had a Jacuzzi Bath which was great - a modern flat tv screen and use of Netflix. The only downer was that you had to pay to use the Sauna and other Thermal Suites. First hotel in Ireland that has charged me for using their Sauna. Also you had to go outside to another building to use the swimming pool. Lovely little gardens and courtyards to the rear. Breakfast was good - a good choice. Lunch and Dinner Menu the same so ate outside hotel at night. Found an excellent Restaurant called Old Bridge- a 5 min walk from hotel. Had a Trip Adviser Rating and it def deserved it.

m. w.By far the best hotel in Mayo. The food in the Merlot restaurant is 5 star and the service is second to none. The rooms are large clean bright and with all modern amenities, including a Jacuzzi bath. The spa is excellent also. If you need to stay in a hotel in Mayo, this is the one.

M. K.Excellent beds, I love a good nap. Very handy underground car park. Staff are friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced restaurant and drinks. You also have access to a fancy spa (for a price) bit the pool is included.

N. O.Mixed review here. We celebrated our mums 80th birthday with afternoon tea and an afternoon in the Sula spa. The afternoon tea was great, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The sandwiches and cakes were lovely and fresh. Loads of pots of tea and coffee finished off with a chilled glass of prosecco. 5 stars so far. The spa however was totally overbooked and filthy. Our group of 8 were to have facials and massages and use the thermal spa between 3 and 5 pm. We were there at 2.45 for 3pm appointments but by the time the staff had forms filled out, enough room in the changing room, enough dressing gowns and flip-flops sorted it was 3.15. The massagist I had told me quite crossly that as I was late my 55 minute session was only going to be 25 mins and I could choose between a facial or a massage but not both. The massage was very relaxing. The chill out room had water, fruit tea or apples, no orange juice as indicated by the staff. The thermal spa was disgusting. The murky water of the outdoor jacuzzi hid, chipped and broken tiles, some kind of growth between the tiles and the water was tepid. The saltwater spray room wasn't working. The sauna was lovely and hot. The salt foot bath was cleaned by a member of staff using her hand to swipe the salt back into the bowl... End of clean up. Overall the thermal suite needs to be closed down for a thorough deep clean and repair. It is a pity because I had been to this spa about 18 months prior to this and was delighted with it then but I won't go again. Too many clients booked, too dirty and broken, staff too busy and cross. Not a good experience, such a pity as the afternoon tea had been so good.

Damaged furniture and door, missing tiles from bathroom and generally a very dated room in need of a new refurbishment. We looked at another family room but this was no better. There are non-family rooms which are in great condition, just a shame this theme doesn't flow into the family rooms.

p. c.This place is fab stayed over night and had a spa and dinner after. Highly recommend.staff are lovely very attentive.spa staff were just lovely and place is very well run. Only complaint I had that the house keepers started knocking on our door at 9.30 and did so 4 times after even though we had till 12 to leave, very annoying as the kept opening the door and checking had we left (rude). Otherwise I will stay again

A. C.I have to say The Plaza Hotel in Westport is among the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Apart from it being luxurious with large comfortable beds, jacuzzi baths and marble tiles what really makes it are the staff. They can't do enough for you. The reception, bar, restaurant, cleaning and management staff all appear happy and polite and work very hard to make your stay relaxing and memorable. I highly recommend a stay here.

A. M. N.Spent a great few days recently at the Plaza, had booked online and found that there was excellent communication from front of house in the lead to our stay, with updates or answering queries regarding our booking.
We booked the Presidential suite room 500(Junior Penthouse) on a 2night B&B + 2D basis, and it didn't disappoint, the room needs seeing to believe, with a seating area separate to the bedroom, and the restroom separate from both, balcony also... regarding facilities there is a PC and printer, two TVs
with Netflix etc, mini bar, coffee machine, Kettle, iron/board, and the little luxuries added like Chocolates, Cookies, Port, Wine, Waters - perfect.
Dinner was great from ordering to finishing both nights took 1 hour, the ideal timeframe for four courses, well done in particular to a member in the dinner service, Adam, an exemplary member of staff, and seemingly alot of others dining around us felt so.
Breakfast was perfect, not a flaw on either occasion.
Spa is very good, ladies working in the Spa are helpful and pleasent, spent a morning in the Thermal suite then the Rasul, certainly recommended for a truly relaxing time...
The room is a little worn, some marks on the sofas, a few tears in the wallpaper, some small holes in the voile for the balcony door however, It would not be so to stop me booking again tomorrow.

P.Loved it we had a lovely relaxing time here, the power went for 2 hours and i didnt feel they handled it too well as we had been booked for dinner at 8pm and electricity wasnt back until 9.30 so when we arrived down for a bite to eat once the power came on they told us they were no longer serving but made an exception as we were really hungry and got some bar food. The staff handled it well as you could tell they were clearly stressed. The whole towns power went but would suggest a back up generator for such a big hotel!! Thats why i will give it 4 stars had we not of had to kick up a fuss about the food we would of went hungry.
