O. M.We rented a sea view apartment. The beds were really comfortable. The rooms were spotless. The shower was really powerful. The place was warm and really well equipped. I could not fault it. Location on the beach was great and the boardwalk into town is a great amenity. Lovely pool with big windows onto the sea. Big thumbs up.

b. c.My favorite place in Ireland to come on holiday. Always stay in the sea view apartments and I haven't been here since covid but now back in action and wow the apartments have been upgraded. Quiet here at the minute as hotel is still closed so no bar or restaurant . But plenty to do as you stroll into youghal by the boardwalk which now goes the whole way in.

Unfortunately most of the hotel facilities were closed (despite restrictions being lifted) including the restaurant and pool.
The food options were quite limited the chip van wasn’t always open and there wasn’t anywhere to get a sandwich. Also seemed odd that, given the amount of people staying self-catering, there wasn’t a little shop to buy a pint of milk, bread or butter.
Can’t say we interacted with any staff as reception was only accessible via a side window that was opened begrudgingly on request.
The overall sense was it was a place doing the bare minimum to get by at the moment
O. K.A grocerie shop would be ideal you wouldnt have to get into car if you ran out of essentials. Otherwise its a great self catering family holiday.

S. K.I first booked one of the holiday homes for three nights on-line. The nxt day I got a call from Therese who works at the hotel to let me know there had been a computer error. It had booked me in for three different houses for each night and she didn't have one house for those nights so if I wanted to keep it that way,or cud I change my dates, I'd like to note that it was like I was talking to a friend,I'd never spoken to her before this,but I felt like I'd known her forever. Such a lovely friendly lady. So I changed my dates. Last minute, two days before we were due to arrive we decided we wud like to extend our stay ,the weather was glorious so why not. So I called Therese again,I'd like to add that at this stage I've got her personal mobile number. She isn't at work,I'm now looking to leave that day and spend two extra nights there, she tells me she will call back in ten minutes that it's her day off but she will go to the hotel and check for me. True to her word ,she called me in ten minutes. I mean come on,who does this, already I'm loving this place. So we arrive,the house is beautiful, the area the holiday homes are in is beautiful. Inside the house is a home from home, the rooms are spotless, two if the rooms had ensuite, it had everything you could possibly need, dishwasher,washing machine,dryer, fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave, kettle,toaster, everything. The rooms are very well sized and the beds are really comfortable. They supply towels and toilet paper. You cud literally throw a stone and hit the beach ,that's how close it is,and the beach is beautiful so clean. It has a little shop beside it that sells ice cream and slushies, and other bits. The hotel itself is closed,but that did not matter at all. They have a good truck outside selling yummy food. It's a little expensive for a family of six so we only ate there once. I have absolutely nothing bad or even eh, to say about this place we loved loved loved our stay. We most definitely will be back. Xxx
B. B.Totally in love with this place. This was our second time there, and many more will follow. This place is a gem in summer, and one of very very few places you can enjoy in winters. The view was awesome. Being cold weather we made full use of the leisure centre. As much time as possible in the water. Kitchenette was appropriate with pots pans plates spoons etc. Bedrooms were cozy and warm. Our apartment had a table outside facing the beach. What more could we ask for? Breakfast in pjs and a lovely view to soak in.
a. s.Love the Quality Inn. Have come back here 5 years in a row. It's on it's own located right beside a beach so there is little or no traffic around. Very close to Youghal if your looking for a choice of foods. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Great for a family with young kids.

Different stay with no hotel or facilities yet the prices were up from 1150 for a 4 bed to 1390 thos summer. The pop up grill was handy but chefs werent always wearing face coverings. We used the local hackney for trips to dinner in the town All in all we had a great break

G. F.Just home from 4 days at the Quality hotel. Fabulous place for families with children, we had an 8 year old with us, however it is not suitable for a quiet break away. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. The only thing I would suggest it that the accommodation needs to be updated. The apartments were spotless but a bit tired. The food was very good and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our break and would go back
r. k.Our 2nd time to stay here. We stayed in one of the houses this time. Its on the beach ,wheelchair Accessible with downstairs bedroom . Due to Covid the hotel is closed. However as a family of six the house met all our needs. It had plenty of space for the kids to play safely at the house. The windows were tinted so you have privacy. Lifeguard at the beach .Shop with all the beach equipment. There is a food van outside run by the hotel head chef that does AMAZING Food. Perfect Crispy chips ,unbelievable breakfast rolls ,fish n chips etc. The reason I reccomend this place is EVERY Member of Staff works Really hard Morning til night and they are always chatty smiling and go above and beyond to ensure you have a good holiday. This is a must visit for a Staycation. Thank you Quality Hotel ,we had a Great visit and will come back for a longer Stay. Pat yourselves on the back.Great job
E. L.Mixed feelings on this place. Location is fantastic, right on the beach. Staff are very friendly. They have a small playground and the swimming pool is reasonably big. Swimming changing rooms could do with a playpen to put a baby in so that you can change your clothes. Apartments have everything you would need. The restaurant is nice but they could do with a few more healthy options on the kids menu, and although I paid for a cooked breakfast there was only scrambled eggs and tomatoes left when we got there at 9.30. Downside was the fire alarm going off at 3.30am (it was a false alarm). Also we found a big lump of hair in the bath plug hole which was off putting when you want to put your baby in it.

L. H.We celebrated my grand daughter's First Communion at the hotel. The meal was lovely and the place is very child friendly. Great entertainment for the kids. Weather was beautiful which added to the occasion.

Lots of activities for kids and movies shown each night also for a small charge with drink and popcorn. Pleasant and friendly staff and bar food was good. Right on the beach also.
L. S.We stayed in one of the holiday homes for a weekend in Oct. It was big and clean. The floors upstairs squeaked quite a bit when walked on but other than that I couldn't fault the place.
The bar had music both nights which we enjoyed. My 9 year old thoroughly enjoyed dancing to it and the performers were very child friendly.
The pool in the leisure centre was lovely, possibly a bit deep for smaller children but fine for us. I would say that the changing room floors could have been cleaner though. They'd need to be cleaned more often. I'd recommend pool shoes.
Another note for those with small children: the showers are HOT. My 9 year old just about managed them but couldn't imagine a younger child in them.
Over all we had a lovely weekend. The staff were really friendly and I couldn't have asked more from them!
P. C.Spent 4 nights at The Quality Hotel at the end of September. Rooms are very spacious and clean. There's loads to do for the children with playground, football pitch, basketball court and kids clubs etc all onsite. Staff were very friendly, polite and accommodating. The bar served a beautiful menu which is keenly priced. However, it probably needs a little more seating for patrons as when it's busy it's very difficult to get seating. Absolutely amazing Blue Flag Redbarn Beach runs directly past the front door, ideal for lazing about or long walks in the sand to the historical walled town of Youghal.

We stayed in one of the holiday homes and they were big and comfortable. Sorry walk to the beach which was very nice and a life guard station close by. They was a swimming pool with sauna and steam room. Kids loved it and very close. All in all a good spot for a holiday and the kids had a ball.

J. A.Just returned from another fabulous stay at the Quality Hotel Redbarn. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment and as usual we have nothing but praise for that facilities and the staff. The apartments are spacious and have everything you need for your stay. The staff are helpful and friendly. The food in the bar is great and reasonable and the leisure facilities are spotlessly clean. The location is perfect, right on the beach, and within a short distance to Youghal. The Quality Hotel Redbarn is our favourite short stay location and we're looking forward to our next stay already.
G. M.1 night stay 3 bed house (no43). Absolutely fabulous house and area. Very quiet never heard a noise from any of the other houses. Very warm house even without heating on. All mod cons beautiful entrance hall and kitchen/ living area. Beds very comfy. Would only take away 0.1 mark for dust on the side of the stairs (could effect bad asthmatics but thankfully didn't effect ours a baby wipe sorted it). Use of all leisure facilities in the hotel great vouchers from front desk all staff members were so helpfull and friendly from Robyn who emailed back very quickly to alli in reception when I rang. Can't thank ye enough and will definatley be back for more family fun time
R. H. (.Lovely clean place! The food is great in the bar didn't try the restaurant! The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for your time of stay! The hotel is right on the beach! They have a pool sauna steam room! Have a car park on site! They have kids clubs every day so there's a lot of thing for kids to do.
c. b.Just back from staying in the redbarn quality hotel houses great week and houses lovely every thing one needs home away from home. Only negative thing to say about house is that they have no garden furniture so can't sit out and have a meal outside which we like to do and with the weather been very warm was a disappointment. So if you going here be sure to take a comfy chair or two with you so can sit out in comfort not on hard kitchen chairs.

Food was maybe a bit pricey especially lunch time menu but overall have no complaints. Staff are lovely especially eileen. We come here every year sometimes twice a year and eileen is always so friendly and accommodating. Great place for kids.will be back.
S. D.Fabulous stay at the quality this is our second summer at the hotel and I can't recommend it enough , we have stayed in the hotel and the shalleys and both were very clean and comfortable. My son is entertained from morning to night with use of the leisure centre, bouncy castles, the beach , and lots of family games outside in the evening .
B. H.Stayed in one of the apartments, block 5 middle floor. Clean, sliding door needs fixing though.
We have a 2 year old, he enjoyed the slide at the leisure center and the bouncing castles out front.
Breakfast was a bit all over the place, arrived at 9.30 and only toast was on offer, had to wait 20 mins or so for it to properly get going. Breakfast should be included for the price that we paid for accommodation, the quality was okay/good.
The pizza place was excellent, top notch.
Bar could do with some ipa beers.
Over all we enjoyed our stay.
c. j.Great value, a few small improvements would make this a great destination. Rooms are clean and warm, food is good. Leisure centre needs a good wash and barbed wire on boundary with beach needs to be removed immediately.
T. T.An initial review after 1 night. Staying in a holiday home, 6 people total, each supposedly with their own facilties. Only 1 key for 3 couples to use, weird! Plus as one shower is giving trouble, sharing with people I have not met before. Windows appear single glazed as kids out enjoying their holiday, as the should, can be heard as if windows are wide open.
Also hotel restaurant stopping serving food at 9pm on a Friday and Saturday night? Ridiculous
G. G.Houses are spacious and well fitted, if a little bit noisy - lots of creaky floorboards and thin walls. Nice location and plenty of green space near the houses for kids to expend energy.
Don't like that the hotel has allowed a collection of very expensive bouncy castles on the grounds - kids see them and want to go on them, understandably, but the third party is charging exorbitant prices with a fairly captive market. Not nice to tell kids they can't spend $25 for a few minutes bounce on each one.
L. S.A home from home, (stayed in one of the houses).Great place for young children, staff are friendly, Food is delicious, prices are very reasonable. Swimming pool is large and spacious with a really nice kiddies pool, there is a lifeguard on duty which is peace of mind when u have a few young children to keep your eyes on. Gym is great..there are keep fit classes running throughout the day while your children are in kids-club or the cinema. Babysitting service available. The spa is very relaxing when you need a bit of ME time. I have being coming here for a few years now and will be coming back, Rain Hail or Shine 😊 as it's always a memorable hoilday.
F. Z.Good wifi, decent bed, full kitchen. No free breakfast, had to ask for a hairdryer as it didn't have one in the room, only had hot water in the shower for about a minute, and then was just cold water. Other than those, it was pretty good.
D. H.tl;dr - beachfront hotel targeting families with kids. If you don't mind hanging out with a similar crowd of family holidaymakers you'll love it.
The hotel lies about 5km outside Youghal (very close to the Youghal turnoff on the N25 if coming from the Cork location) with panaramic views of the sea off Ireland's south coast and Capel Island from the mezzanine restaurant and ground floor bar. If you're looking for a beachfront resort in Ireland you won't get better than this…
Our accomodation was located on the second floor and compromised of a medium sized double bed, single bed and futon bedroll for one of our kids. Room was a reasonable size, had tea&coffee facilities, a phone, wardrobe space and a fairly modern Flat screen TV hung (crookedly) on the wall - had HDMI and SCART inputs if you wanted to hook up a device - we couldn't get our Chromecast to work with the hotel WiFi sadly). The bathroom comprised of a bath with fixed shower head, sink and toilet. Not the most modern bathroom but more than adequate for our needs.
Food wise, we ate in the bar in the evening and had the buffet breakfast the next morning. Food quality was good. Particularly liked the house burger which tasted really good but could have come with a larger portion of fries. Our party also ordered a vegetarian pasta (good portion size and flavour), pizza and some kids meals (good value for money compared to other places we've been). Breakfast the following morning have us an option of cereal, pastries and two types of juice as well as a hot buffet of the usual Irish breakfast items and house pancakes with chocolate sauce. As others have mentioned, children usually aren't covered by the B&B rate - first child is €7 and additional children are €5. Under 3s do not have to pay for breakfast.
We were delighted to make use of the lesiure centre on the morning of our departure. There is a decently sized pool with 2 lanes marked and the rest left for families to play in. Water depth is 1.3m throughout with a small area that is probably closer to 1.0m with and underwater bench you can sit on. There is also a separate baby/toddler pool which is great for younger children. There is a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi for adults - sauna heat was awesome (I find Irish hotels are a big fan of 70°C saunas but there was no issue here). Top marks for the views from the sauna. Superb! Despiteng a busy weekend, the pool didn't feel cramped and this seems to be a benefit of the beachfront location - many families hit the beach in the summer rather than the indoor pool.
Service wise, it was OK - staff were generally friendly but I'm sure have their patience tested on busy summer weekends. Modus operandus seems to be a lot of adults (incl some kids) going to the bar on a Saturday night and I suspect this is where the hotel make most of their money from holiday makers. Saying that, the design/layout of the hotel is good in the sense we heard very little noise from the bar (despite it being a busy weekend and there being live music). We did end up closing our windows though due to a lot of pedestrian traffic in the evenings at the front of the hotel.
Final thoughts: With a little bit of imagination and investment, this hotel could be world class (certainly feels like a world class location)… but it would probably target a different market. Good value for money for a family getaway (especially for larger groups or groups of families that want to hang out together).

A. H.While we only stayed for the one night as we were attending a wedding in the area, we had our children with us. We had paid for breakfast for the Adults and we were to pay €5 each for the children. This i thought was a bit much when i consider that my youngest is 5 and all he ate was a bowl of cereal and a slice of toast. My daughter is 8 and had 2 sausages and 2 slices of toast. So that and a glass of juice each cost me €10. While i would stay there again because it has a great beach, i wouldn't rush. Staff were friendly and easy to approach. I would give it 3 and a half stars.
J. A.Being a working mom, my time to relax is quite less so we always take a family break on summer holidays. It's our first time to go Youghal, and it's great. The self-catering apartment has just what we need. I love it's beside the sea, very relaxing and peaceful. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It's a perfect holiday to those who want to take a breath of fresh air. We'll definitely go back.
M. D.Had a great couple of days at the quality we stayed in the holiday homes attached to the Hotel and they were great clean and tidy and plenty of room for large family numbers.
The hotels facilities were good. Nice restaraunt good bar area lots of outdoor space for the kids to play and situated right on the beach. Only a short drive from the town centre of youghal. The leisure facilities were great. A good big pool and excellent gym all of which was free to those staying in the Hotel. Set in the beautiful east of cork and close to Middleton and cobh and about 45 mins from cork city. A truly great harbour town.

D.We love this place, very famlly orientated, our boys love the freedom to go to the cinema, the disco, order their pizzas and slushies, houses, apts & swimmimng pool are all spotless and very spacious, beautiful beach and all a few minutes from Youghal centre. P. V. V. S.After staying in another B&B in Youghal that was a disaster we moved to the holiday apartments in the Quality Hotel and it was a significant improvement! The rooms were clean, warm and simplistic with options to heat further. The bathrooms were clean and well equipped as was the kitchen. Apartment's have a lovely sitting area that was very comfortable and a balcony. My only suggestion for improvement would be better WiFi and possibly more channels on the TV but that's only nitpicking.

c.We stayed here for a weeak and We had a lovely time. Staff mostly were lovely especially the receptionist from Youghal was fantastic. The pool and gym were perfect and my eldest loved the kids camp. Well run. I think what lets the place down is the little things in the apartment which are easily fixed. Little equipment in the kitchen ,Dirty worn toaster , the bathroom smelt , and a hoover would come in handy.
Would I come again. Yes. Because the positives make this a great place for families. And if possible get a Seaview. Lovely views. And I did pity the staff. Because its aimed for families doesn't mean parents should let their kids run amok while their in the bar drinking. Just my two pence.
g. F.We stayed in a four bedroom house for 3 nights on Nye. Unfortunately the hotel was closed but the leisure facilities where open . Make sure u check this before you book . We had a great stay right on the beach was a nice mild day on the Monday we had a lovely long walk . Foto island wildlife park only 30 minutes drive . We went to the nearest pub clanceys for nice craft beers and food. Overall great value for money . I will be booking again for the summer .

D. G.Nice hotel, catering mostly for families. A little chaotic in the bar at mealtimes but otherwise very good. Situated right on the beach with plenty space for walking. Not a place for a quiet break.

C.Where do i start i honestly cannot recommend this hotel enough we arrived in Ireland on Friday 16th October for our weekend stay Emma on reception was so lovely and friendly, check in was quick and very easy we stayed in the house's which were lovely clean and very spacious and very well equipped the hotel facilitates were really good we loved the swimming pool with spa , on Monday we were due to leave unfortunately for us Hurricane Ophelia arrived and our flights were cancelled the hotel was amazing and allowed us to stay for FREE all the staff were incredible making sure we had everything possible we were without power and water and they brought us supplies of water and candles i cant thank you all enough
