G. L.Great location. Stayed for 2 B&B and 1 evening meal. The room we got was on the 1st floor very spacious with 2dbl beds a std bathroom and a separate disabled bathroom/wet room. The beds were very comfortable, shower in the std bathroom was useless.
I'm not a fan of a long bench style seating in a restaurant more for a fast food outlet. The menu gave me difficulty getting something of it, just a bit to upmarket for me but nicely presented.
The waiting staff all very friendly but a big lack of experience. There only seemed to be supervision at evening time, at breakfast the most of the staff happy to stand and talk. I had to tell them that a woman was struggling to get a wheelchair through the door into the restaurant.
Would probably stay again because of the location but wouldn't have a evening meal in the restaurant.

S. R.Have stayed at The Great Northern many times. My husband & I recently stayed for a two night break. Everything about our stay was amazing. We had a beautiful clean room overlooking the magnificent golf course. The staff were extremely efficient, friendly & nothing was too much trouble. The evening dinner was unreal. Congratulations to the chief. It was evident so much hard work has gone in to making the hotel a safe, clean & Covid friendly place to stay. Can’t wait to return again soon. Thank you to everyone at The Great Northern. Highly recommend.
E. Q.Very welcoming. Staff in the bar and the resteraunt efficient and great fun. Ate in the resteraunt 2 nights and the good was as good as any top resteraunt. All the main dishes are top quality and the lemon meringue is highly recommended! Our room was very comfortable. Didn't quite get some of the other reviews in this regard but I guess everyone has different experiences. We loved it and will be back again. 👍
C. C.Bar food was good and good menu. Dinning room menu were not great for plan eater. we had dinner included for one night which had to be in dinning room. Room was nice and clean, I think the rooms have been decorated. Carpet was very clean to. We enjoyed are stay.

M. S.Nice hotel. Amazing scenery and views. Well situated a short walk into bundorans main attractions. Rooms nice but really noisy at night. Could hear everything from the corridors and all the doors seem to slam closed which wasn't great for keeping a 1 year old asleep at night. Food was lovely. Although for some reason a full fry for breakfast was served on what can only be described as a baby plate which made it a bit awkward to eat. Still enjoyed it tho. had a 4 course evening meal one night which was amazing

Staff were lovely friendly efficient and professional even in strange Covid times all so well organised. Bonus was the walk down to the beach from the hotel, the lovely cliff walk and the sea views from room thanks to a lady called Marian in reservations ! Cannot wait to visit Great Northern Hotel we will continuously look out for specials !!
t. q.With the corona virus regulation the staff were wonderful made sure your stay was as normal as possible from management reception dining room to bar. We had our family and grand children.Every one thoroughly enjoyed themselves especially the grandchildren they were looked after fantastically in the dining room and then the play ground in the hotel and the seaside so convenient.

S. N.Old style hotel in an amazing location, looking over the sea and cliffs. Everything is within walking distance. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Spotlessly clean with the current COVID-19 situation. Food was excellent in both bar and restaurant. Lots of different choices. Would highly recommend if in the area.
E. H.Lovely hotel. The Relaxing reception area is very large with plenty of soft sofas and an open fire. The food in the restaurant was beautiful but I can't say the same for the bar food. A lot of our food in the bar was over cooked and hard. It's a pity because over all its a beautiful building with fantastic views.
C. T.4 o clock check-in in awful late, seems restaurant is catered for people with package dinners - menus is all inclusive - no prices, offers in room don't exist in restaurant. Bar food was nice, eating dinner in part isn't much of an option, ok for lunch but that it. 13for a chicken burger without chips ect included is a bit much, coffee expensive and not good. Not a bad hotel - few little things they could do to improve.

C. W.Booked a last minute room here due to the storm Lorenzo and not wanting to stay in campervan with baby. They were very helpful and accommodating, every member of staff we met were friendly. The hotel is clean and looked after. Yes it is a little dated in areas but I feel that is its traditional charm. Dinner was nice and reasonably priced. Use of spa included too which was great. Would stay here again, feel it was good value for money.

M.Recently stayed here for a wedding. Check-in was rushed and didn't tell me what time check-out was or that the room was not ready. Food at the wedding was superb. The room was a little dated but comfortable. The bedrooms need better sound insulation as I could hear every step and word from the guests directly above. When checking out, the front desk lady made a call while attending to me and I mentioned that the shower didn't drain.
M. K.Beautiful Hotel! Amanda the lady at the reception was very friendly had a lovely personality and chatted with us about all there was to do in and around the hotel. Nothing was to much for her or the rest of the staff. Room was lovely clean and comfortable with a brilliant view of the gold course.
Food was great and the only small criticism I have would be to chance the Bruno Mars cd in the dinning room, its got the same few songs on repeat :)

M. M.Always love my stay here but was a bit apprehensive because of covid-19. Hadn't a thing to worry about though. Plenty of hand sanitiser etc throughout the hotel. Plenty of cleaning in the restaurant after each table was vacated. Chairs table etc all wiped down. Fantastic social distancing practiced throughout and of course fantastic staff as always.

Our families stayed for 3 days in the hotel and we couldn't fault the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. Rooms were fabulous and meals were sumptuous. Highly recommend the hotel for a break or wedding. The scenery of the Atlantic ocean is out of this world. #wildatlanticway
C. W.Family of 4, stayed 9th-11th July. Very well set up to manage such a large hotel, given Covid-19 restrictions in place. Sanitizer stations throughout, and all areas had clear signs. Booking essential for pool, bar, restaurant, but once you know this in advance, this is not a problem. Staff were very visibly making a huge effort to clean and sanitize.
Such friendly, easy going and helpful staff, anything we needed was no problem. Enjoyed a birthday cake in the restaurant, where all the floor staff came out singing happy birthday :)
Would definitely recommend, and will return also. A truly beautiful part of the country.

S. K.Free parking and good WiFi. Only stayed one night. The hotel has live bands playing and being the first floor, it’s as if they were in the room. So if you require a quiet place, this wasn’t really it. It did go quiet after about 10pm. Breakfast was OK. Poached eggs on the mini Irish breakfast was a bit sad as it was solid in the centre. Other than that it was clean and the receptionists were friendly.

D. M.A bit run down in area's. It's Dated. Not enough care given to cleaning windows. Pool table is neglected as are the walls Of the pool table room. Which is a pity as it's free and something to do when raining. Stains on the ceiling of room. Beddings were average, no sheets on top.. service was good, Very helpful. Dinner was delicious.

My work colleague got the mini breakfast and he had a similar comment in that it was as if he breakfast had just been reheated.

The staff in every area of the hotel,were most helpful and friendly, and could not do enough for us. The food was excellent, and the rooms very comfortable. This was our second year staying in The Great Northern and we hope to return next year.

A. i. N.A large rambling hotel which seems to have a symbiotic relationship with Budoran Golf Club. Golfers use the hotel, Hotel guests use the golf course.
Staff are friendly. The rooms are adequate and clean, nothing special.
There is a large dining room with the usual hotel type menu. The food is quite good but what I would call plain. Bar food is also available.
The hotel is nicely situated a few minutes walk away from the town.
R. K.Bar is open all day, which makes the Great Northern Hotel a nice place for a break after walking Bundoran beach and the Fairy Bridges. Recommendation: Potato wedges/halves are good and so are the scones and the Chocolate muffin (+ ice cream).
We fed the baby in a quiet area and that worked super fine as well.

H.Love this hotel my self and husband visit many times a year and is never disappointed the staff is so lovely everyone but have to say we have a soft spot for Amanda she so lively food omg breakfast you wont need anything untill the evening I feel so secure in hotel I have actually booked myself and another member of staff and 2 residents from where I work in a nursing home from aghalee for learning disabilities and nothing was to much bother even though I rang them numerous times . And they have put everything in place we need cant wait till 4th July x

T. M.Leisure Club membership doesn't give you parking in the Leisure Club "members only" car park, that's taken by the kitchen staff who feel you should walk from the town instead.
