I was referred by my father to call Laird & Son. My furnace stopped working and within a few hours a technician was at my house, identified and fixed tr problem. Each step of the way I was looped in to understand what was going on. Great communication and good quality work. I will definitely use Laird & Son in the future.
We have used Laird and Son for 20 years; this is why. Our furnace failed recently on a very cold Saturday morning. I phoned the emergency line, received a return call with 30 minutes, was given a commitment to come at around 1.00pm. Technician arrive early, identified the problem, corrected it, tested the exhaust for CO - all fine. He was courteous, efficient and knowledgeable, and also able to clearly describe what he had done and why. Thank you!
As a recent customer this is the second time I've used Laird and Son. First was an annual maintenance check but this time required a more complicated fix involving an ongoing water leak. Very quick response and excellent service leading to a successful repair. Very satisfied with company.

I simply needed routine maintenance on my gas furnace for my older home. I recently discovered that my "old" honest and reliable guy retired, so I was apprehensive. Laird provided professional maintenance and arrived as promised for the service appointment. They also provided an update with time of arrival and a picture of the technician which was really great. During the inspection and cleaning, Greg noticed that the ignitor needed to be replaced as the wiring had deteriorated and could cause a fire. It is reassuring to know that my furnace will be running smoothly this winter. Thank you for providing excellent service!
I left a vm Sunday night with Laird for a furnace service visit. They called 7:30am next morning and quickly arranged the visit. They texted me when the tech was on his way (including name and picture, nice touch). The tech, Daniel, showed up on time. He was very knowledgable, a good communicator and an excellent troubleshooter. He quickly diagnosed the issue (faulty capacitor) and had the replacement part in his truck. He installed it quickly and the problem was solved first try. Totally professional experience from start to finish.
Great service on furnace, water heater and air conditioning. Had to buy a new water heater a couple of years ago and keeping old equipment running efficiently. A local company I feel comfortable using. Dependable and honest.
First visit from laird for our annual furnace check up. Bryan was very thorough and explained all aspects of the inspection and results. We have been using another very efficient company for 30 years who just wound down and recommended laird. We know going forward we will be in good hands.
Very friendly repair technician diagnosed my furnace problem almost instantly, had a rare furnace part in his truck, and replaced my burnt out part. It took him 2 minutes to fix a problem that had been affecting the furnace for weeks. And he remembered being in my house 25 years ago to fix the old furnace.

Laird serviceman - I believe it was Greg or Craig - arrived on time. He was thorough and courteous, and explained everything he did quite clearly. He came last year too, and we hope we will have his efficient and professional service in subsequent years as well. BRAVO!
Appointment was given quickly and the technician Daniel came promptly and replaced a part in the AC and it works again. He said that this part is usually the first to go after about 10 years. Very nice and capable people work here.
Wonderful! After living for 15 years with horrible air flow and no AC flow on the top floor, and after having multiple HVAC companies come and go, shaking their heads and collecting their fees, in walks Mark from Laird! And in one fell swoop, knows immediately what's wrong, fixes it within the week, and FINALLY our house is cool, both upstairs and down. And the air flow is PUMPING! The technician, Greg Hewitt, did a great job in maintaining our furnace for the upcoming heating season. He explained the process and the reason for certain things that he does the checking.

Bi-annual maintenance check of our furnace and its operating function. Technician Alex Kubicki was nothing short of 120% honest in his assessment (existing airflow in the house, steps we can do to improve circulation and the overall state of our furnace functions). Diagnosed an issue with our humidifier, was able to find the root cause and then fixed the initial problem left by a previous company that was used. A text message appeared that he was on his way, before he left the driveway our receipt was already in our email inbox. Would Highly recommend as Alex was friendly with our dog and toddlers, broke down the symptoms in plain language. Will definitely be using Laird and Son for future maintenance services. They are in high demand, so obviously during peak season (winter) it will take time to book an appointment. Adequately priced for the service, gives piece of mind throughout the winter months. Hate using the phrase same old, same old, but true when referring to Laird. Every maintenace individual always perform the very same tests on Furnace and Airconditioner and I sit through the entire process (about 60-90 minutes) for Lennox Furnace and Sears Airco. Their maintenance processes works.

Laird & Son is new to servicing my furnace. They were professional and thorough.
Bryan came to do my annual a/c and furnace servicing. He was very friendly and had lots of helpful hints about how to save energy. He was efficient and put everything back where it belonged.
We had an excellent experience working with "Top Gun HVAC Tech" Mack Wideman. Our system is a bit of a "unicorn" requiring a heat exchanger replacement and some other troubleshooting. Mack was great to deal with - talked us through what was happening and what we needed to know. It took a bit but we are now back to fully operational and feel confident knowing Mack is our "go to Tech" if we have any problems in the future.

Cleaned and inspected furnace. Explained everything in detail. It’s a very old furnace but gave us reassurance it was still ok.
Alex arrived around 4 pm with Daniel. They did a very thorough checkup on my Lennox furnace followed by a good going over of my 20 year old Lennox AC. They determined that both were in very good condition. They replaced the hepa filter and humidifier pad on the furnace. I have been having Laird & Son sevice my HVAC equipment for a number of years now having switched from another less professional and dishonest service provider. I trust Laird & Son to keep my equipment working properly and will most certainly continue to use them for service and purchase new HVAC equipment from them when the time comes.
Super friendly dude helped us. Fixed our problem in about 10 minutes. Even stuck around to ensure that the issue was indeed fixed.

Very polite call centre staff who respond immediately and capable technicians, who are excellent at troubleshooting. Our furnace was down and they had to come back. We don’t know if the real source of the problem has been corrected.. There may be a problem with our nest or the circuitboard, however instead of jumping to the conclusion that these had to be replaced, we have made the decision to wait. The last thing that was done worked. so far so good.
Laird & Son never fail to impress me! Their office, dispatch and repair technicians are outstanding. After my boiler failed to start during the first cold snap, the technician called me right away and came. After servicing, advised me I would not need a new boiler, but rather, if it happens again, I just need to replace a small part. What a relief! This company is the best and I would never deal with anyone else.

I've been a customer of Laird and Son for over 25 years. They installed a new boiler and hot water tank at my old house and recently they installed a new furnace and ac unit at my new home. They also handle my yearly maintenance. They have always provided excellent service. I highly recommend them.
I called at 8 am about my air conditioner not working. Alex came the same morning, right in the middle of the service window (8 to noon) at 10:30, ran a full diagnostic, and was able to fix the problem. He was pleasant and professional, and he checked to be sure the unit was cooling properly.
The team came to instal my new water heater. They were efficient and very professional and polite. They left my house cleaner than when they arrived. Just as I have come to expect from this vendor. I would recommend Laird & Son any time and will continue to use them for all my HVAC services.
Bought my furnace through Laird & Son and have been on their maintenance plan. Only had one issue with a faulty part and it was resolved quickly at no cost to me. Annual maintenance is easy to book and the technician shows up when expected and does the job. He was very accomodating and answered questions clearly and provided useful advice. I find this company very pleasant to deal with and have no complaints whatsoever. When I need any other heating/cooling devices, they will definitely be the ones I call.

Our air conditioning unit stopped working, and we were having a challenge finding a company to call us back. Enter Laird & Son, who were terrific from start to finish! Noah came to assess the situation, discuss options and provide a recommendation on a new unit. He was detailed and answered all our questions. The quote was timely and very reasonable. The installation supervisor called on a Sunday afternoon (!) to talk about the timing and logistics and answer questions, which was amazing. Dan and John came right on time to remove the old clunker, install new lines, prep the pad and test the new unit, and we had cool air flowing by 4:30. I have relied on Laird and Son Heating and Air Conditioning for close to 10 years for all my air conditioning, heating and duct servicing. The staff have always been great to deal with, very friendly and knowledgeable, from the people who answer the phone to the service technicians. Making an appointment is easy and service technicians have always shown up within the time frame specified and I have always been satisfied with the job completed. Just recently I had an issue with a part on my furnace that was replaced and the new part did not work to my satisfaction. When I corresponded with the service staff by email the following day, I received a prompt response and the staff worked through the issue with me. When we could not resolve the issue a service technician was sent out and the part was replaced, and everything worked as expected. I am very happy that my issue was taken seriously and dealt with promptly. I will continue to rely on Laird and Son for my HVAC needs!
A couple of weeks ago, while looking for a furnace service company, we found Laird & Son. Our appointment was made for 08:00 a.m. and the
technician (Dan Voore) showed up precisely on time, introduced himself, and went right to work servicing our furnace and humidifier.
Upon completion, he made a couple of recommendations and explained (in plain English) what he had done and what he saw while working on our system.
Laird & Son's service call was - friendly, clean, punctual, informative and reasonably priced. We thank Dan for the great work and would highly recommend him to our friends and family.
We purchased and had installed a tankless hot water heater a year ago. We set up an annual service call with Laird. The service man showed up on time. He was friendly and knew what he was doing. The service was completed quickly and he explained everything he did. We have set up an annual service contract and are confident we will get good service.

We had a ductless air conditioner installed in our home recently, and I am so happy with the service we received from Laird & Son. The job was not an easy one due to how high up the unit was being installed, but the crew came up with a fantastic work around to ensure greater safety for the team and also to ensure we can have the unit safely serviced in the future. All 3 of the guys that were here were polite and friendly, and they were so respectful of me and our home. One of the guys - I believe his name is Alex - went so far as to vacuum the entire area, including every single stair on the staircase where they had been working. I highly recommend Laird & Son.

I dealt with Bryan M. from Laird & Son on an emergency air conditioning problem I had (during the july `23 2016 TO heat-wave). His service and professionalism was amazing. The issue was rapidly diagnosed and repaired immediately as well as helpful hints provided on maintaining our unit (which I originally bought from Laird & Son 17 years ago as part of a complete heating cooling package).

Well, it's early winter and our 20 year old furnace started acting up so, I went to the web to find a HVAC contractor and decided to give two of them a call. I called Laird and Son and the person asked a couple of questions and then explained how they could help us. The next morning right on time a Service Technician came and resolved the issue but also found that the exhaust was dangerously high and a major repair or new furnace was needed. He took time to explain my options. I decided to speak to a sales representative and purchase a new furnace. Ron, arrived on time and quickly helped me determine the size and types of furnace and pricing options that I had in order to make a decision. He was easy to work with and basically let me make my decisions without any pressure. The next morning right on time David and Stephen showed up ready to install my new furnace. Five hours later it was all done. Just in time for the temperature drop outside too. The entire team was coordinated, polite, professional and responsive to my concerns and needs. Well done!
We had the very stressful situation of making an Oil to Gas Conversion, with a condemned oil tank, fuel running low and winter weather on the way. Researching our options, we found the Laird & Son website, moved forward on a good feeling, and we were never disappointed.
Ron P. arrived promptly as arranged, and surveyed the scene. We had access issues, space issues and a wall that had to come down, but he left us feeling confident that we had made a good choice.

Mark R. and his team arrived (with extra space heaters for us!) to do a unique furnace installation that required Mark's creative solution and a lot of skill. We have been working with Laird & Son for about a year and a half now. Originally they removed the oil tank in our home and set us up with a gas furnace. Since that time we have used them for general furnace 'check-ups' an AC leak and any other issues that arise. They just came out today because we saw water on the floor and it turns out our filter in the humidifier was all gooped up. I will continue to use them and I highly recommend them. EVERY single service employee we have had in our home has been extremely professional, knowledgeable, understanding, and more than happy to break things down so that my family understands any next steps. Had a fantastic experience with the company. Mack, the technician who came to help us with the service call was fantastic and went above and beyond to not only take care of the equipment but help us in Every possible way. Mack was extremely knowledgable, helpful and professional. He provided us with fantastic customer service and he will be the main reason why we will continue using Laird and son for all future service calls.
The rest of the team was also a pleasure to deal with and although they are running a very busy schedule Tracey who was responsible for coordinating this service call worked around their commitments to accommodate for the earliest time available, sent a friendly reminder a day before the appointment and ensuring that Mack called us prior to his arrival so we didn’t have to sit home all day waiting for the technician to show up. All those little details make a world of a difference and I would strongly recommend using their services.

We have used Laird and Sons for a few years to service our boiler, and yesterday they installed a three-headed ductless air conditioning system in our two-story semi. Corrado and his crew were professional, courteous, fast and did very tidy work with the install. It's as neat and invisible as it can be. I really couldn't be happier. They use Mitsubishi equipment and I'm quite happy with that too.
I arrived home from work at 4:30 on a steamy Friday before a long weekend to find our A/C not working. I called Laird & Son and left a message on the emergency service line fully expecting that I would hear back sometime over the weekend. I received a call within minutes and Mack, the service technician was on-site by 5:15. The problem was a complicated one and he took the time to work through each of the issues as they arose keeping me informed of what he was finding, what he was doing to fix it and any costs that were being incurred along the way. He was polite, courteous and knowledgeable. He actually took the time to follow up 48 hours later with a phone call to make sure everything was still working properly due to the complexity of the problem. I will NEVER use anyone but Laird & Son in the future for our furnace and A/C requirements. I know when I call them that they will respond promptly, assess the problem accurately and fix the situation at a reasonable price. Thanks Mack!
We are totally impressed with Laird Heating and AC: our air conditioner is mounted high on the side of the house, and we had trouble finding a firm who would fix it. But Mack from Laird stepped up to the challenge, and did the repair at the top of a high ladder. Our house is cool again at last, all thanks to Mack and his cheerful, professional, can-do attitude. I cannot say enough about the team at Laird and Son. In a time where customer service often disappoints, I am delighted. Starting with Amber who returned my call promptly and had Brian come to my house within 3 hours, to Brian himself! He couldn't fix it on the same day but he didn't leave my house until I knew when they could come back. And then when Ken and Mike left - after dealing with a complicated issue and doing a great job , Brian called to check in! Amazing service. I will always use Laird and Son.
I've been using Laird & Son for a few years now for servicing my poor old gas furnace. It breaks down every year. They come quickly and do the work efficiently (and quickly!) and do so at good prices. One year, they had to get a part for my furnace which wasn't working at all and brought over 2 heaters for me to keep my living room warm.

It was a smooth and uninterrupted process. Arthur carried out a pre-inspection of the basement setting to ensure the space would be able to handle the boiler and hot water tank and to determine if additional materials were required. All three gentlemen, over a two-day period removed the old 40+ year boiler and 24-year-old hot water tank and installed a new Viessman Wall Hung high-efficiency boiler and RHEEM 40-gallon Atmospheric Hot Water Tank and cleaned up any residual materials/garbage as a result of this process. I can not thank these guys enough. Their ability to answer my questions and address my concerns was proof to me of their knowledge and experience in the heating and air conditioning service.
We have been using Laird for decades on our various properties and are very satisfied. At least three heating/AC systems in that time, as well as ongoing maintenance. They are always prompt, diligent and polite.
After consulting with a number of companies we contracted with Laird to install through the wall ac in our older Toronto home. Nothing about the experience could have been better. Communication was excellent, service was friendly and efficient, an excellent and capable crew. We will be using them for maintenance not only of the new ac system but also of our existing boiler. We woke up without heat on a Sunday morning and after doing a bit of troubleshooting, thought the ignition of our furnace may have konked out. Really appreciated that Mack didn’t second-guess our troubleshooting (another service provider quoted $250 for diagnostic alone), was comfortable communicating via text, provided us with service options, sourced the right part, and also came to get our heat running same day. Would use Laird & Son again - hopefully just for maintenance next time!
We recently had our furnace quit on us and we needed to get it fixed. Based on a recommendation, I called up Laird and Son. They were able to send somebody the same day, and since my son was home, I did not need to leave work to let him in. Mike arrived within the time range that I was given over the phone, and less than an hour later, my furnace was fixed. I was charged exactly the price that I was quoted over the phone. It was quite refreshing to get good service and not be charged for unnecessary repairs. Also, Mike gave me a call to let me know what he did, which I appreciated very much. Wonderful customer service here even though my warranty has expired. I called with a concern on Saturday night. The on-call tech called me back right away - I think his name was Paul - and put my fears to rest for the weekend by assuring me that my situation was not dangerous and that a service call during the week would be fine. I called Monday morning and was able to get an appointment that day. Bryan came out within a couple of hours and sorted everything out and also gave me some good tips on furnace care and maintenance. He also suggested I sign up for their no-charge service agreement which will give me better pricing on parts should I need anything done in the future. Every single person I have ever dealt with at this company going back to 2010 when I purchased my new furnace from them has been absolutely on time, courteous, knowledgeable and professional.
I had a furnace, A/C, and hot water heater installed to replace my aging equipment. Mac's team was knocking at my door at the exact time they said they would start their work. At one point during the day there were three trucks and six workers on the job site. I was impressed with the coordination of job tasks. All precautions were used to protect the work area and my new carpets in the basement. At the end of the day they cleaned up and made sure I was comfortable operating the new equipment. Two months in and everything is working well.
I have dealt with Laird and Son in the past and they were great. They came to replace my hot water tank over a month ago. I was sent an email after the time of arrival of a picture of a man who was not the man that showed up first...fine. He got to work. Over an hour later the man in the picture showed up. They finished the job in about 2 1/2 hours and as far as I know everything went well. I gave them my credit card and they used their tablet to charge me. When my credit card did not show the charge for weeks, I called...as it was the evening I think it was a technician who said he would look into it but could not find my appointment anywhere. More time went by and I called ...this time during the day and got a woman on the line who said something about how they had to invoice me first! I explained I had already paid but that seemed to go over her head. Finally over a month later I get an emailed invoice telling me I was past due and would I pay it. Also I could renew my membership at the same time! I called to explain that I did not have a membership and that I had tried 3 times to pay them already...what was wrong with them? The woman I spoke to took my credit card details and it has finally been charged to my card.
Now this is the clerical aspect and we are in a pandemic however the very fact that a company cannot even get it together to take my money after trying to give it to them 3 times has me concerned about the workmanship. Hopefully it is better than their office workers. The other funny thing is I got an email after the workmen left asking me to critique the guy who arrived late???? Why not critique them both but specifically the guy who was there all along?
The technicians arrived on time to replace my A/C unit. They were organized and very tidy. Mack explained what they were doing and answered all my questions. I'm familiar with HVAC units and found Mack to be extremely knowledgeable and his method of showing the apprentice was methodical and thorough. I would highly recommend this company. I've used Laird before and will continue to use them in the future.
Amazing! We've relied on Laird and Son for years and they have always exceeded expectations. We live in an old North Toronto home and they've been responsible for brilliantly updating our air conditioning and, this past winter, our "thousand-year-old" boiler. Both services now work like a charm! Their staff is wonderful - efficient, knowledgeable and really respectful. And today, with Sam, was no exception. I called the office to see if they could help me with a little job of moving an outdoor gas line over a bit to accommodate a new bbq. Well, Sam came over and gave me an early Mother's Day present by coming up with a wonderful solution that saved us a ton of money and aggravation. These guys NEVER sell you what you don't need. Mack from Laird & Son came today to service my A/C and my furnace. Did a good job, was very pleasant and thorough. A bit pricey at over $400 for less than an hour’s work but I guess that the way things are these days.
I had Laird and Sons come in to replace an extremely old boiler. They were able to remove the old one (cast iron) and replace it with a new one all in the same day. The workers were very courteous and helpful and left the job site looking clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend this company.
Our air conditioner was not working. Mack was superb! He explained everything he was doing and made sure we understood the necessary repairs. We could not have been more pleased with this experience and will be recommending Laird & Son to our family and friends.
Great company. I have been booking with them for years, took a few years off and booked with a larger competitor that didn’t measure up in the least! Laird&Sons staff are outstanding- professional, timely, forthright and friendly. Will remain a customer from now on!
This was the first time we used Laird to carry out a maintenance check on our gas furnace. Mack Wideman was the technician. He was very professional, gave advice on our air cleaner and furnace filter, replaced the filter on our humidifier and cleaned certain parts in the furnace. He didn't just perform diagnostics on the performance of the furnace. Would definitely use laird again.
From booking the appointment to the service received, Laird & Sons was professional, timely, and most importantly thorough with the furnace cleaning of my new home. Matt was an amazing technician and so kind and knowledgeable.
