It a small place, not fancy or charming. But the food is good and the staff is so nice. Went there 3 times in the last 3 months, always felt very welcome!

One of the best pub meals I have ever had and a very good price! The traditional Irish stew was crammed with tender lamb pieces and I ate a lot of my missus steak pie she ordered too as that was so tasty! So good we came back the night after for round two (which is rare for us). The establishment has a great atmosphere with lots of seating, quirky decorations, friendly staff and great live music. Five stars!

I didn't stay at the hotel, but we came in every day for breakfast and every evening for drinks! The bar tinders were super nice and knowledgeable of the area. If I make it back to Ireland this is definitely a place I would recommend! 5 starts for service and food!! The atmosphere is superior and rustic. Love the upstairs patio that can be opened or closed. I was only in town three days but this was by far my favorite spot!
R. C.
Beautiful food, great family orientated atmosphere. Friendly, kind, attentive staff. A new family favourite. Can't wait to go for an evening of Irish music soon.
I. I.
I ordered the lamb stew sand can report happily that I had no complaints. The Irish soda bread was spot on and very welcome.
The fireplace was roaring when we came in. It was so nice to see a proper open for going in the grate.
Service was good and very friendly.

only went here for dinner and a pint; a lovely atmosphere it was, we were entertained by a guitarist. The staff was polite even though I must commend on their timing, they make you wait for the order forever. They barely give you attention even when you wana make an order or settle the bill; a bit lecture on customer service in conjunction with waitressing will do for them in the long run. Otherwise I enjoyed my dinner here

We stayed in Dublin for the weekend and a local at a pub over the road recommend this hotel for food. We ended up eating here 2 nights in a row. The quality and the portion sizes are absolutely unbeatable. Fed both of us enough to last us the whole night and the next day with no lunch! Very tasty traditional Irish meals with a huge quantity of delicious meat in each portion. Prices were incredibly reasonable for the quality. The live music was great too - lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Very nice bar, rooms are good value for the price and the storytelling night was very good fun as well. The staff here are exceptional at helping out with questions or dietary issues. All in all very good value for money and less than 5 minute walk from the city centre.

This place is fantastic! My buddies and I spent plenty of time at the bar chatting with Bill who gave us great info about all the best places to visit in Dublin for sight seeing. The food is superb, I recommend the Full Irish Breakfast in the morning to get you started which ended up holding me over all day till dinner while we were out visiting all of the breweries and distilleries, and the Traditional Dublin Coddle for dinner. The Coddle reminded me of Grandma making a good home cooked meal at the end of a long rainy day. I highly recommend this place for the food, atmosphere, live music, and company. Next time I visit Dublin I will be sure to try out staying at their attached Hotel!

We didn't stay at the hotel but visited the bar. Only have good things to say, they have live music each night, reasonably priced guiness(for Dublin) and a proper Irish feel. One night we saw impromptu Irish dancing. staff are friendly .
M. B.
This place surprised me I went here for a football match and got some food. The food was good and the bar was spacious with quite a few screens. They also had a nice smoking area out the back.
S. S.
Visited the bar on Saturday night which had live music, it was really good. We were on our way back to our hotel for an early night but ended up staying until closing as the band was so good. We then went back the next day for lunch which was very good value
M. L.
My review is only for the pub that's in the ground floor of the hotel. A very nice pub with friendly staff. I went there twice, both times there were quite a lot people, both locals and tourists. Every evening there is Irish live music which I cab only recommend you check out. The prices are about the same as in other pubs in Dublin.
A. C.
Me and my friends wanted to taste some traditional Irish cuisine during our stay in Dublin. We picked O'Sheas and we didn't regret! I had some sort of Irish stew and it was really good, especially in combination with Irish Red Ale! After all, we were full for the rest of a day!
W. J.
Pretty decent place. The food is great (highly recommend the vegetarian stirfry and chocolate cake), the service can be slow at times, it's kind of a hit-or-miss depending on the night and how many people there are. If you go early enough (before 5pm?) the drink are extremely resonably priced. They have a good deal where you get a large burger and a pint for 10€. I would certainly go back.
C. f.
Didn't stay here had a meal on 04.01.2020 I have to say the food was excellent and very reasonably priced with a varied menu. I can honestly say we will be back a great find ****** stars for grub.
G. V.
I didn't stay at the hotel, just ate in the restaurant, which is pretty good; you get a big portion for what you pay. Most of the dishes are around 10 euros, which isn't bad for a Irish dinner. As for the service, the first two nights I was there, the waitress were friendly and attentive, but the third night I was there, the waitress was not as friendly or attentive. Besides that, I recommend this place if you want a good Irish dinner.
J. H.
First day here, but a very warm welcome. The room is lovely big enough for 2 women with plenty of clothes. The bar snack we had was exceptional can't wait to try a main meal. Will update this review on a daily basis till I leave.
H. C.
The hotel sits above an Irish pub. I always come here on Thursdays because they have Irish set dancing night here. The rooms are lovely, very cosy, location is great too! Very close to the Spire. All in all great experience.
A. C.
Nice if you are a tourist, unfortunately I selected this hotel because close to my workplace... live music till late night is something you can enjoy if you dont need to sleep :-) Apart it they have this nice pub/restaurant. The room was comfortable but I experimented some issue with bathroom / shower. Good value for money.
D. B.
Great pub well located. Good beer prices compared to other central location pub prices. Haven't ordered food here but from what I saw being served up it was all pretty good looking.
M. J.
Had the time of my life here! Live music with recommendations. 5.70 for a pint. No wifi but clean bathrooms. Food was reasonably priced for what you get and the presentation was on point
C. L.
Friendly people who take the time to make you welcome. Menu is not expensive and portions are generous. This is an unhurried place with live music every evening.
J. C.
Always a good place to go. Good food. Music and good Craic
July 20th We still go regularly. Good food, fair prices, good 🎶 music (the guy up to 10.30 was excellent and we hope to see him again..).Also they built a great beer garden that I recommend (even if you don't smoke)
D. E.
Great selection of beers, really friendly bar staff who learned your round after just one order (and there were 9 of us!) and great live music. Next time I'm in Dublin I'll be coming back to O'Sheas.
E. F.
Very nice and picturesque pub, in typical Dublin style, with live music in the evening. I enjoyed the food: great fish soup and salmon cooked to perfection! Of course you can find liters of Guinness beer, served by the greatest Guinness lover: Mike! I spent only one evening in this pub, but i felt at home!
R. O.
Love the concept and the foods were not bad! I'd like to point out that this is the perfect place if you're looking for a different scene of Irish pubs since it's more lively with better lighting!
D. E.
We had several meals in the restaurant and were very pleased with the food and service. The entertainment was enjoyable and not too loud. We would eat here again, if we ever make it back to Dublin.
H. M.
Parking is not free or nearby, had to pay 12€ with discount in car park (10min walk). Room is lovely, which at 140€ a night Id expect. Bathroom was reasonable size, clean, fairly modern. Bar staff incredibly nice, hotel staff a bit disorganised/ unnecessarily stressed at times. Would return though as location makes up for minor failures.
M. C.
This is a great location in Dublin city centre close to everything. Walking distance to Temple Bar.
O'Sheas is an old hotel, the rooms are small but functional. The staff were wonderful with us. Restaurant and bar on premises were convenient when you want to stay in.
J. L.
Found this place on our last night in Dublin.
Wish we found it the first night.
Will be my first port of call when going back.
Unlike the Temple area, you get to chat with the bar staff, and get a feel for Dublin.
C. D.
If anybody is trying to find good deals on hotels visit HoteIRᴀven. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!
Great pub well located. Good beer prices compared to other central location pub prices. Haven't ordered food here but from what I saw being served up it was all pretty good looking.
B. S. D.
Great atmosphere. Staff was pretty good. The food was tasty at the time, but my mother and I sadly ended up with an awful case of food poisoning.
J. C.
Great atmosphere, I go here every time I'm in Dublin. This time it was busier than usual. I used to get 'Bob's belly buster', doesn't seem to be on the menu anymore. They should bring this back 👍
E. F.
Location close to train station and city centre. Walking distance to most of the touristic attractions. Friendly staff. Room was small and bathroom was pretty large, over all showed its age, overall very clean and tidy. Being Dublin, it usually is cold and wet, this given day we were lucky to have sunshine which made the room very warm and stuffy. No air conditioning or fan in the room. Overall would stay again for a one night trip given location and price.

8 July 2019. My wife and I enjoyed a drink or two.....oooo. I had Guiness of course with a chaser of Black Bush Irish Whiskey. OMG, first time I've has this whiskey and it was the best I've had.
My wife had pink G & T which is her new favourite.
Bar staff very friendly and professional.
Lone entertainment tonight was great playing guitar with his own vocals. We would have enjoyed more Irish only music but he did well all the same.
I did however have retrieve my unfinished black bush whiskey when the waiter took it away. I got it back and he apologised.
M. C.
Exceptionally delicious food.
Cooked to perfection.
Slightly pricey.
Good coffee.
Attentive, efficient staff.
Very clean venue.
n.
Food was great. Really nice décor, overall a lovely place to stop for some grub and a beer. Staff were friendly and welcoming
P. M.
We had ate in Malahide several times but had yet to try a restaurant in Dublin itself. O'Sheas was one that was recommended to me in a travel group I belong to on Reddit. The food was delicious and homemade and they have a good number of beers to choose from. Also really liked the theming with all the old pictures and artifacts from what I assume are the hotel and Dublin's past.
I had the lamb and root stew, my wife had seafood chowder. I can safely speak for my wife and I in saying that both of our meals were delicious. If you want to try homemade, delicious food I can't recommend O'Sheas Hotel enough.
L. V.
Typical pub for tourists in Dublin's city centre. Live music everyday from 9.30 pm. Excellent selections of beers and whiskeys, they have also a restaurant (never tried, tough).
D. C.
Great cozy pub, excellent service. The food was also fantastic - the Guinness steak & ale pie, and seafood chowder are both great.
J.
The location is good and the price is reasonable. The room was clean and the staff very friendly. The downsides are it's very loud because of the traffic outside and the pub downstairs, but a pair of ear plugs do the trick! The breakfast is ok, there are much better places for breakfast here in Dublin.
N. J.
I ate at O'Sheas restaurant and was pleased by the attentiveness of the bar staff who let me sample different ciders before making my choice. The fish and chips were also quite good and service was quite rapid.
J. W.
My most favorite place to stay when I come home to ireland before visiting family. You can't get no better hotel.staff are absolutely fantastic friendly and can't do enough for you. It's very clean. Food great.brilliant Entertainment 7 nights a week.situated in a part of Dublin that is within easy reach of everything on your doorstep. I have been staying here for many many years and my daughter loves it here and we sometimes bring my granddaughter to stay too.thats how much we love o'sheas hotel, and staff.
L. S.
We stayed here for 2 nights the staff were welcoming and we can't wait to stay again. Food was great and would recommend this place to anyone. I would give it ten out ten
m. c.
Great place. We stayed in the hotel we arrived early morning but the staff did all they could and got us in our room early . Food was amazing staff really friendly highly recommend this place .
R. C.
Im from Texas and these folks got me saying "Brilliant". Unassuming neighborhood bar that inside a small boutique style hostel. Bartenders were very cool with the "craic". The Irish music is nightly and they are Damned good. I would wonder if playing the same style of music day after day after day, would be annoying; but they play it like it's their latest hits. Thank God for that bc I enjoyed it, greatly. Stop by for a pint and a bit of fun!
K. G.
Nice and cozy place with amazing staff, delicious food, awsome music. A perfect chill after a work-filled day. Actually...i'm thinking about writing a book here. Perfect for that as well.
K. C.
This is the best value hotel in the centre of Dublin City. Right close to everything including transport, restaurants and nightlife. OSheas also has a bar & restaurant, so the breakfast is top class, with an extensive bar menu available all day. The bar is a hive of activity at night. A great place to meet the local residents. All in all, a very enjoyable stay.
V. B.
In all my years as a Dub I am ashamed to say this was my first time visiting OSheas. My call was to meet friends for a meal and refreshments. Its decor is great, the pint was excellent and the food was served fast hot and tasty Will definitely call again
K. N.
Nice pub with food. Didn't try out the hotel. Presentation of food was nice, although the selection of vegetarian food could be better. Deserts were plenty and would go again just for the that!
N. M.
Friendly servers and very accommodating. Their food is very good. We visited them twice on our vacation. I would definitely recommend them.
G. D.
We had a great dinner and beer here and there was an amazing Irish atmosphere. Guiness and steak pie was great! This is close to Connolly station.
A.
Good food and quick service! Quite friendly people over there aswell. Make sure you have a big appetite when you go though.
T. C.
Great price and a great stay. Central location. Food in downstairs bar/restaurant great value & taste. Would stay again. Entertainment every night.
B. C.
Didn't stay in the hotel, but the bar and restaurant are both great. Friendly staff, real irish humour, good food and, by Dublin standards, not too overpriced.
P. S.
Fantastic food
Very large portions
So bring an appetite with you
Also a large selection of beers
Service was great
Will return again
C. C.
Stalwart classic hotel and restaurant serving excellent traditional Irish food. Try the Beef & Guinness Pie with the Lamb &Veg Stew for the best of both in rich and succulent with a tasty broth.
J. M.
Nice pint in a lovely old world bar. Expensive at €5.20 a pint, seems expensive for visitors that is. Then again all Dublin and surrounding areas are the same. It puts people off.
R. B.
Nice rooms, bed is little soft but otherwise a comfortable and centrally located hotel. The restaurant serves fantastic food at reasonable prices.
O. S.
Stayed in Dublin for a few days and whilst there had a brilliant Steak & Chips meal with beer (bought a Groupon voucher) meal and staff were amazing, Can't wait to go back when next in Dublin.
D. G.
Good food, friendly staff but the restaurant portion is a little confusing. If you're not staying in the bed and breakfast, you need to sit in the bar area rather than the actual restaurant.
C. B.
Great food and beer, but a little on the chilly side in February. Friendly and welcoming.
B. C.
Staff very friendly but the wifi needs some work. Every time I connected (regardeless of which router) it worked for 2 min before either telling me there was no internet or disconnecting altogether. I tried other wifi hotspots nearby and they worked fine.
G. C.
I really enjoyed the food. Big tasty portions of traditional Irish food. Cozy atmosphere and good service.
M. J.
An absolute gem, excellent customer service, delicious food, friendly welcome, live music nightly and reasonably priced. Recommend this to all my friends visiting Dublin xx
C. B.
Great looking pub. Good menu.
Prices are expected but service at bar is poor. Just nodded at not asked what I wanted or even told the price after the pint was poured.
D. B.
Great bar and restaurant, hotel good apart from parking if you're travelling with a car. Here on a business trip this time, but will definitely visit with the family next time.
D. H. K.
Please note that this review isn't for the hotel accomodations, but for the restaurant. I thought the restaurant was really cozy, but the food there was really not worth the money. Still might be worth the visit for the atmosphere.
S. S.
Good food. And a place so cozy. Wooden flooring brick walls. Was great for a nice eve with friends.
M. C.
