We decided to stop here today on our way back from Connemara. My husband ordered the hake and chips and l had the beef burger. Both were so tasty and we got very generous helpings. The staff were very helpful and professional. The boat lnn is spotless clean and comfortable. We didn’t stay overnight but the meal we had was first class . I’d recommend it to anyone.

We had our wedding at the boat inn and it was more than we could have ever hoped for! The food was exceptional, the staff were so helpful and as we stayed at the Inn we got a free massive and delicious breakfast in the morning. If you're looking for an intimate place for a wedding reception, I say look no further. The outdoor space was also decorated, which made a beautiful option for guests who wanted to venture outside. We can't thank you enough ❤

Food is surprisingly good, had one of the best sirloin beef and fish and chips in a while. Staff are very nice and friendly, however, a downside is serving time is very slow. When we were there on the weekend they were packed so that could be the reason.

Called in for coffee with the folks after a long trek. Strict Covid Cert checks. Just had coffee and bread brown. Asked about the bread, all made on site. It was delish!!! Really good. Puro coffee, love it. Service was swift, efficient and friendly.

Plenty of outdoor seating, staff great. Had the southern fried chicken burger whixh was fantastic. Chicken was super tender and full of flavor. Chips were brilliant as well. All the food seems to be locally sourced and prepared on site. Highly recommend stopping by.

We had a delicious meal for 6 in the Boat Inn. Fish and chips was well portioned and tasted delicious. Also the burger was outstanding. Great location, excellent staff and overall a really great experience. One of the most important parts of the holiday is the final meal, this completed our week of excellence. 5 stars.

With the current restrictions, the Boat Inn is very well prepared. Bookings, considerable distance between tables, function room open to extend the dining area, checks at entrance, one way system, one at a time in toilets with outdoor door lock. Plenty of staff constantly cleaning and disinfecting along with excellent and prompt service.

Lovely staff and location. Ordered fish and chips for kids which they loved my husband had the lamb which he said was Fab. I had fish pie it was nice but I think it could of been chowder with very creamy potatoes on top very heavy but would definitely pay a visit again. Just a thought maybe no chewing gum behind the bar very unprofessional by the male behind bar.

Stopped in here for a pint on a Sunday right before closing. Local place with a friendly atmosphere and DJ with dancing. When I say "local" I mean local. We were definitely the only tourist in the place. But we felt welcomed!

Lively and busy place in the center of Oughterard. It is favoured by most of the local and popular with the tourists in the summer since it has a great position with tables outside which are great for just chilling and observing whats going on in town. They also make a very good cappuccino

I have been going to Ireland for 30 years and stayed all over. I have never had a more positive experience at a vacation place, ever! The same every time I stay! Rory, Veronica and the rest of the staff do a fantastic job in Customer Service, making you feel like your part of the family. The rooms are all remodeled, very clean and neat. The food is AWESOME!!! Try the seafood chowder or the lamb...followed by a good pint of Guinness and the world is good! Ok, a few pints...LOL. Oh, and the breakfast in the morning will keep you going until dinner! The folks in town are very welcoming as well and will stop to talk to you, if they see you around. Nice pub chats also. Hiking is awesome in the area and Galway is close by. I would stay at no other place if I was anywhere close. See you next spring!

fantastic place. they found us a room while everything was booked up to galway, perhaps without them we would have been forced to sleep in the car, despite being a place in the province, far from everything. we ate divinely, they were kind and courteous, attentive to any of our needs. the cuisine was finally something typical with real and steamed vegetables, the best place to eat in Connemara, always to come
