I. R.Amazing place to visit before Christmas! Staff very friendly and pool and spa experience it's a MUST! We just realized next day that there were no children around so the noise levels were low. Walking/running around the lake and the forest it's something that you will enjoy as well.

N. L.We stayed here for one night in early January and we were very impressed from the moment we drove through the gates. There is a long driveway up towards the hotel and the grounds are very well kept. There is lots of car parking available and a shuttle bus brought us from the car park to the hotel. Staff were efficient at check in and very welcoming.
We stayed in the Deerpark suite and we were very impressed with the room. It was spacious, cosy and had a great view of the gardens.
The gym and spa facilities are to a high standard. They have an indoor and outdoor pool, aswell a steam room, sauna and salt room. We both had treatments and found the staff to be very professional.
A meal in Maxwell's was included in our package and everything we had was delicious! There was great variety on menu which made choosing our dishes challenging.
Breakfast the next morning was a buffet with a wide selection of both warm and cold foods.
Overall we had an amazing stay and we will definitely be back!

E. M.Really nice hotel. This was my second time to stay in the hotel, really nice staff and facilities. Fanco the restaurant manager was so attentive and you can tell he is very experienced at his job. All the staff in the restaurant were amazing and the food was really tasty.
My only constructive feedback is for the bar staff to work on their cocktail making skills, they are not up to scratch. Overall, excellent stay.

S. S.The hotel and spa were fantastic. The meal on Sunday night was bad. 1 1/2 hour time limit, apps came out great then our main course came out an hour later. Been fillet way over done. Seafood papperdelle like warm. And very pricey. Last night ordered room service... spring rolls and Fries. Spring rolls came first then they went back to get the fries... and didn't bring any cutlery to eat with or lids on the food to cover it to stay warm.
M. D. S. H.Nice rooms in hotel and breakfast has plenty of choice. Spa is great when pool is a good temp. You can take a few hours in here looking out at the cows in the field from the outdoor temp controller pool. Massages I have had have been really great although sometimes the receptionists don't greet their guests always until a few minutes of standing there as when they arrive as they seem overwhelmed. This bit is not so good. Friendliness and positivity is key Clean and the sauna steam room with aromatic showed and crystals are beautiful. Some foot baths broken. Great gym and little cafe is nice too!
C. W.We stayed here for our mini-moon as it was recommended by friends and weren't disappointed. We were upgraded to a suite on arrival, received a bottle of prosecco delivered to our room and received a lovely sweet treat after our dinner as a gift.
The mix between old and new in the resort is seamless, the place is well maintained, the staff were pleasant at all times and the grounds were big enough to spend a good few hours walking around.
The food was good quality in both restaurants and the breakfast was tasty although I would have preferred soda or potato bread as well.
The spa was semi open but we were there at a quiet time and didn't have to wait on anything. The view from the outdoor pool was so peaceful.
We've stayed in all the main resorts up North and this one comes out on top when compared to them. This will be our first choice for a mini break from now on.

A. S.I stayed her for one night and it was amazing. From the drive into the hotel overlooking the amazing grounds to the relaxing atmosphere throughout the hotel. Our room was amazing very modern and spacious and so quite at night time. I went to the spa and could not recommend more. I had Yvonne for a back massage and she really was brilliant. There is so much to do at the spa between using the pools indoor and outdoor, to using the relaxation room and the thermal suit facilities. You could spend the whole day down there. I had dinner in the wine goose cellar which was amazing and topped off the stay. I would defiantly recommend to anyone and I will defiantly be back soon.
S. B.Stayed here for 2 nights and had a decent time considering lockdown had was easing and the hospitality sector was getting back on its feet.
The staff were polite and friendly. Breakfast was tasty, albeit a small selection.. what we had was tasty. Beds were comfortable and rooms clean.
However. The room was far too warm and changing the settings to cool and opening the window made little to no change. The fridge did not work, despite the polite staff member telling us otherwise - not ideal when you need a cold drink in your overheated room! We didn’t have a bin in the room - like, at all.
Also dined in Maxwells Grill, ordering from the a la carte menu. The dishes were beautifully presented and again, staff were superb.. however the food itself was bland at best.
Overall we had an okay time at the Farnham, and considering the deal we got via booking.com. However there is a lot to be improved on.
D. R.What a lovely place. Took my now fiancé there for a milestone birthday and we fell in love with the place. The staff are lovely, very helpful, genuine and friendly. Our stay got off to a bumpy start with a small issue with the room but the client service manager was amazing and upgraded us even though the hotel was completely booked out.
The facilities are excellent, the grounds are amazing, beautiful & extensive and the atmosphere is very relaxing.
The restaurant was stunning, large and packed with people yet we felt that we had privacy. The food was incredible and we were constantly looking at passing dishes wondering what we were missing.
Most surprising of all was the breakfast, I've come to expect most hotels breakfasts to be disappointing and yet here the quality of the food was excellent, one of the best I've had in years, the selection was extensive and the staff were constantly stocking everything up. Also the layout was great, did not feel cramped, loads of room to pass people, all very well executed.
I cannot recommend Farnham Estate enough, we loved it so much we are getting married there next year. I've completed faith in the staff.

This place has huge grounds we went for a walk around it took over 2 hours so peaceful and clam.
The spa facilities where amazing and the pool was so relaxing and chilled out.
The food in the restaurant was 1st class and we got surprised with a birthday treat after our meal which was something we have never experienced in any hotel they really put the thought into it for us and we where well pleased they did. breakfast was good and the downstairs bar and bar food was everything you could ask for.
The staff where very friendly and polite.
This place has it all if you want to go somewhere and have a chilled out relaxing break without the kids. Also they are adding more to the restaurant so we will definitely be back and also I didn't get around the golf course 😁
L. H. G. (.My partner and I stayed here just before Christmas and had an amazing stay. The hotel itself was really impressive, mixing the old style buildings with the new, modern side of the resort.
Staff were really friendly and helpful, especially our server at dinner, she not only was very attentive but also helped us choose a nice wine and told us a funny story. Dinner itself was also extremely well presented and delicious.
The spa was great, I especially loved the wide array of different steam rooms and water treatments, although the outdoor pool could have been a tad bit warmer!
We had massages which were absolutely amazing and the highlight of our stay. The hotel was a tad bit quiet but that can be expected close to Christmas, but overall we loved our stay and would love to return.
B. E.My boyfriend and I came here for the first time and had a wonderful midweek break. The food was delicious, the rooms are a generous size with beautiful views out over the countryside, and the spa facilities are superb. There's enough to do here that you can easily bring a few books and relax at the property for a long weekend. Everything here is so convenient we never really felt the need to leave, making it perfect for when the weather is uncooperative during a mid-winter break. It's also easy to get to Cavan by bus and a 10 minute cab ride from there. From Dublin the 109 express bus is a great alternative to having to drive and takes roughly the same amount of travel time. The only two things that would have made the trip better are the bed and the spa slippers. Our bed was two twin beds joined together to make a king bed, but there was a slight gap between the two which made it slightly uncomfortable for two people sharing. Additionally, the spa only provides one size of slippers for everyone. These are on the smaller side and did not fit my boyfriend's feet. We asked the front desk and the spa if they would have any other options, but that was all they had, so my boyfriend had to wear his socks around the pool and spa area. Next time we'll know to bring him sandals, we just weren't expecting them to only have slippers in small sizes. I don't think these would fit a guy with feet larger than a UK 10, so if you're a guy with larger feet, bring your own flip-flops or sandals! All in all, an amazing place and one we'll be delighted to go back to.

Food also excellent & three plus places to eat without leaving the resort! Everyone comfortable wearing the robes and slippers but the decor needs updating especially the carpet cleaning and replacement!
J. B.Great place! Just back from a 2-night stay in this Hotel. Staff very friendly and attentive. On arrival we received complimentary tea/coffee and the best scones we had in a long time. Spa treatment was lovely and the nearby forest walks very enjoyable. Highly recommend it.

So friendly and helpful even when the electric went out for 20 minutes or so they couldn't do enough to please us. I had a message from Sophie and it was excellent. Top marks on cleanliness and the spa with the outdoor pool, sauna, steam room and relaxation room's all free, made our stay here something else. Plenty of reasons to go back as the food was exceptional. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all seemed so easy, no fuss or complaining about this or that like you would in similar hotels. Outside walks where the hotel provided boots for us to wear to enjoy the space around the hotel was a nice touch. Overall this hotel and spa is quite easily a perfect place to switch off and relax in luxury where nothing has not been thought of. 10/10...

P. G.Went there with girls from work and it was fantastic. My first experience of a spa and it truely was lovely. The staff were friendly and more than happy to answer any of my questions. The girl who did my massage was really nice and catered to what I wanted. We spent the day there and we got food and drinks and they were lovely. We were free to roam the grounds and use the facilities. The swimming pool was lovely.

While the grounds and facilities are excellent, they staff are what really makes it a special place. I've stayed in many hotels over the years, but there is a genuine sense of welcoming and hospitality amongst everyone working here. Credit to the management for that. The room was nice, the spa is excellent, the restaurant food was good and the cellar bar is a lovely hide away to finish off an evening. I'll definitely return.
P. S.Absolutely love Farnham. The quality of room for what you pay is very competitive. We have stayed here at least once a year for the last five. Love the pool and spa. Food is delicious too. Afternoon tea is always good also.
M. W.Couldnt recommend the resort and everyone enough.. The golf course was very challenging enjoyable for all golfers. The spa is huge, so spacious and the infinity pool si a lovely experience. We had a birthday and the staff left a lovely message in the room with complimentary shortbread after dinner. The dinner the steaks were beautiful and again the staff could not have been more attentive.. Cant wait to go back, great place

O.My daughter had her wedding here at the end of September, when we arrived we were met outside by the general manager, Andrew who said once we stepped through the doors, they would take care of everything and they absolutely did. We had a wonderful first class experience, the staff are outstanding in every way, nothing is too much trouble and we were made to feel so welcome. The rooms are lovely, the spa area is fabulous, the grounds are very well kept with lovely walks down to the lake. The food is delicious, both in the main hotel and in the spa restaurant and the cellar bar is a great finish. I would recommend this hotel and will definitely go back when I need to feel pampered as this hotel certainly knows how to look after its customers. Thank you for making our weekend there feel so special, very much appreciated.

B. L.The hotel is very nice and modern with excellent staff. Rooms are modern and comfortable with all the modern amenities. The pool and spa are located in the hotel but changing facilities and the pool itself are located over two floors which is a bit strange. We were there for a Christmas function, the food of a very high standard with generous portionsand was served promptly. A shuttle bus is provided to get to and from the car park which is very handy.
D. C.Brought my Girlfriend here for her birthday as a surprise. On arrival was charged an extra €20 (apparently I only booked it for one person? But at €200 a night and it being her birthday you'd think they'd of let that one slide). Lady on reception wasn't the friendliest by any means (not welcoming). Room was fantastic, really unique features.
The service in the bar was very slow. 25 minutes waiting on 2 Martinis for example.
We ate in the cellar bar. I liked the setting, and the food was to a good standard to be fair. Service downstairs was outstanding...in fact that was the best service I've ever had anywhere.
Driving through the ground on arrival I was sure I was going to come back...but as I was leaving I was thinking twice about it

J. M. E.Here twice, once for leisure and another New Year's visit for a wedding. Great venue and the hotel and spa area is very relaxing. Ventured out into Cavan as food can be dear on-site, but that was expected. Will definitely be back, if not for the spa/pool alone.
R. D.Beautiful hotel on lovely grounds. Rooms are spacious and very well maintained. The food in the restaurant was of very high quality and there was a great variety of food for breakfast. The spa area was large with plenty to experience, lots of areas to relax and a fabulous outdoor infinity pool.
D. A.A huge hotel, with most of the rooms and facilities built onto the original estate house at the front. The main thing I noticed was the army of staff that was always available, especially in the restaurants (there are 3) and spa which made you feel like you were always being looked after.
The rooms are a good size and in decent condition. As a fan of a deep bath I found the water pressure and temperature a little disappointing, and the design with the plug in the middle made it difficult to properly relax in.
The spa and pool facilities were all great, especially being able to swim outside. Treatments are quite expensive but of good quality.
Breakfast options are comprehensive including hot and cold items. The food in the cellar bar was fine and it was better in the main restaurant.
There are extensive grounds for walking and you'll get regular warnings that they can be muddy. This is definitely true so bring wellies if you really want to get out for a ramble. We went in January and couldn't get far on the trails.
We had a pleasant stay overall, and would recommend it for a weekend break.

We preboooked the 3 course meal in Maxwell's. Lovely food, great decore too. However the service was poor. Friendly waiters but we waited and waited to be served. Then when food came no side I ordered, but got charged for it (but they didn't take the money when I questioned it). We could only order one drink each as slow service and wanted more. No tea or coffee given. Next time we will just go for the bar food. Spoilt it a bit.
Breakfast was huge choice and great food. But we had to go find our own cups, cutlery etc. Poor service again but friendly.
Deffo would stay here again. Its worth a 2 night stay to be honest. Gave 4 stars based on the poor table service. But otherwise we recommend staying here.

N. G.Just back from a two night stay at Farnham Estate and I cannot recommend this hotel enough! From the moment we arrived to the second we left we were made feel so welcome. The grounds and forest are quite large and very well maintained, with its setting making it the perfect place to relax. The spa and pool facilities are excellent and are available to residents free of charge, while separately guests can book a range of different treatments should they wish. Rooms are spacious, modern and clean while there is a hugh variety at breakfast time each morning meaning everyone is well catered for, including coeliacs and those with special dietary requirements. While we didn't try the dining room, we had dinner each night in the Cellar Bar where the dining experience is more casual but the food was delicious nonetheless. If you are thinking of coming to stay here but haven't yet made up your mind, my advice is book now - you won't be disappointed! *****
D. R.Just back from a one night stay in this hotel. Never wrote a review before but this hotel deserves it. Firstly the staff was incredible so nice and helpful they honestly were the nicest staff we've come across. The hotel itself is amazing, we had a beautiful view, the spa was gorgeous and the infitiy pool is a must do. Myself and my parenter (both late 20's) really enjoyed our stay. It's important to pre book any spa treatments prior to arrival. The food was outstanding. Pretty sure this will be the only hotel we will continuously come back too. Also the walks are so nice so again important to pack your walking runners. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Staff were friendly. The carvery food was tasty and reasonably priced but the plates/ bowls/ cups were poorly washed. I have to say that's something I find very off putting.

Back here today and I must say the issues above appear th have been taken care of.
Exceptionally pleasant and helpful staff and the carvery lunch was superb.
Highly recommended.
E. C.Just super: the bedrooms are amazing and the beds are very comfy. There's both a shower and a bathtub. I love the grounds with their forest walk and golf course. The spa facilities are also eccellent. Breakfast is rich, with lots of choice and good ingredients. Dinner at the restaurant is overpriced so I ate in the cellar bar. I'd like to see more vegetarian options and also more widely available (some are only showing in the room service menu). Despite this, the resort is a top place and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

The walks in the gardens and the occupying pathways gives you a feeling of freedom. At this estate there is many amenities to give you a fun filled weekend or short break away.

C. D.The spa was nice but some features where out of order. The lobby of the hotel was covered with flies which really made our cup of tea very unpleasant. However the down stairs restaurant was lovely. The food was fantastic, and the service was perfect.

E. M. C.Excellent hotel, beautiful setting in 16th century Georgian house, which is so charming and romantic. The rooms are very comfortable, beautiful pool with our door pool with indoor and outdoor sun lounger to relax by the pool. If you fancy some training you can walk, jog or cycle through the estate woods with ancient beech, redwood, oak and other trees stunning. Also an indoor gym. The restaurant and the bars great for excellent food and drink. Well worth a visit.
P. M.Attended a wedding here. The grounds were really nice the meal was great. Didnt get to check out the spa / pool but heard from other that it was great. They even have a shuttle to bring you from the carpark to the hotel in case youre wearing heals and cant make the walk.

A. B.Lovely hotel setting surrounded by the private parkland, forests and manicured golf courses. Service is descent, but quite rigid (e.g. children are not allowed in the pool, herbal tea was not an option in the set dinner menu, filtered water not provided outside meals). SPA services are great, but the pool and sauna areas can get really busy and noisy. Food in the bar and restaurant deserves 3-4 stars and can not compete with artisan cuisine. Generally the hotel has a great potential, but it felt like it's already in decline...

S. R.My stay at Farnham was really lovely but slightly marred by small avoidable errors that were irritating for what could have been an outstanding stay.... Special request for room was not followed through on and was told at check in that I would have to pay extra however on production of email confirming price includind request it was grudgingly provided. After quite a long walk to room key card would not work ( TWICE). I would have expected a member of staff to accompany me to my room at least the 2nd time to ensure I could gain access... Prior booking in restaurant was not recorded but they had plenty of availability so not a problem.... This is a beautiful hotel with amazing food, bars, facilities, spa, afternoon tea, grounds and golf but they let themselves down with unhelpful staff at reception and minor errors that keep it from getting a 5 star review.... Receptionists need 5* training some empathy and an intensive course in customer service and attitude... I must add that staff in all other areas were fantastic, helpful, engaging, friendly, professional and a credit to the hotel. If you book with any special requests re: your room or bookings my tip would be to have it all in writing before you arrive.

E. H.The grounds are breathtaking, with views for miles across the golf course. The staff are very friendly, and service was fast. I had one of the best burgers I have had in years in the cellar bar. The hotel itself is very bright, with lots of large open spaces. The car park is a bit away from the hotel, but they have a shuttle bus that runs back and forth from the car park every few minutes with a very friendly driver who will take care of you and your luggage. If there are any flaws with this hotel, i certainly didn't notice them. The only issue I had was finding it in the first place. Its a bit outside Cavan town, and i have to ask for directions.

m. h.This is a hotel to indulge, with a top class leisure facility with all sorts of steam rooms, sauna, showers fragranced by all sorts of aromas.
With both indoor and outdoor swimming pool, if you love water therapy, you will love this place.
Set in its own country estate and golf course, you have both the old original building and the new extension with all the modern facilities. So it is the ideal holiday for the golf enthusiast and walker. It is also a wonderful setting for a wedding. The food is top class and all served up with a smile.
The only difficulty I had was that the sinage around the hotel was quite small and hard to follow.

V. M.Just home from a 2 night stay at the Farnham Estate and my daughter and I had a marvelous time. The Thermal suite is amazing and one of the best laid out for guests to enjoy. The little cafe within the spa allowed us to stay longer at the spa rather than dressing to leave to get your lunch. I also must say the 2 girls working there could not do enough, considering our food allergies. They worked around it and made a beautiful lunch. Very happy. XO

Been treated to Wonderful Spa days.
Had Afternoon Tea thanks to a Christmas Voucher given to my husband and l as a present. It was lovely. When my husband booked the time he mentioned l am a vegeterian and also don't use milk or butter and definitly not goats cheese. I really enjoyed my afternoon tea as did my husband with his normal one. The selection of teas were sooooo tasty.
As for Sunday lunch. What can l say. Every member of my family love this. We go for any excuse as in Daughter home from Dublin or London ir Birthdays etc. Think one can get the picture. Those of us who are vegeterians in the family well we never complain as we never go home hungry. The selection is fabulous and defferent everytime.
Have gone for our tea/dinner in the upstairs bar. Other family members do the fish & chips or burger but have been known on occassion to join us veggies with the falafiel burger which is lovely.
Also have sat on sofas in foyer alcoves and had coffee and scones with friends.
Love this place. Even recommend it to visitors from abroad to us to stay a night here especially as Spa facilities/ relaxation is great.
As for the GOLF...well my husband and company have been known to play a few rounds here. Even as recently as late October.

Asked for diet coke, got coke, asked for the special, Salmon and Mash Potato....The mash never came despite asking (informed later they ran out). Offered a free desert to compensate so ordered chocolate brownie....got ice cream with spinkles (got the brownie eventually). Pleasant bunch but clearly a bad day at the office!
J. C.We stayed at the hotel as part of a golf break in march. The hotel is fabulous!! Very chic and boutique, the rooms, food, spa and bar areas superb! We played golf on the first day at the slieve Russell golf club then played the next day at the Farnham Estate. Truth be told that if we had to do it again we would have played the slieve Russell twice. The Farnham Estate has some lovely holes but has a strange layout with quite a distance between holes especially on the back 9 and between the 9th and 10th in particular.
