The Gate Cinema is by far the best cinema it’s an awful shame the Douglas Branch closed as it’s impossible to get parking within the city so we now go to Middleton one, seats are comfy and spacious staff are helpful and friendly and place is always clean, the best part of the experience is the POPCORN it’s the best out of all the cinemas I’d happily eat the bags of it 😌

It was a lovely experience... friendly staff, bright, clean, fun facility... it was a wonderful experience... seating was comfortable and clean... My only fault was that as an aunt taking my niece I wasn't aware that you could get booster seats for small children and it wasn't offered...

Plenty of movie choices and the prices are similar to other cinemas. The seating is comfortable and the foyer is usually quite clean. Toilets are clean and well maintained. Recommended

Nice movie theatre. Cheap prices. No imaxx but good enough to enjoy all the movies at the best prices. The popcorn are also nice standard quality I suppose.

Best cinema in cork, seats are comfy, friendly staff that also keep the cinema quiet, and keep people off their phones as much as they can without disturbing the movie.

5/5 ⭐️ Amazing time out with the family and kids today. Very helpful and friendly staff, Helped a whole lot with all our inquiries. Cinema was very tidy which doesn’t seem to be the case for most nowadays. Prices are a lot more reasonable then other cinemas we have visited in the past so that was quite a relief considering the whole family going. I must add that this cinema in specific have the nicest tasting popcorn. Only negative is the red carpet in the lobby is quite the eyesore but I do hear that renovations are due. All around a very very pleasant experience. Thank you.

I am a care assistant for children with intellectual disabilities, myself and my colleague brought our clients 3 children whom have autism and are non verbal to go see Mario brothers. Firstly it was fantastic that ye had the option for a sensory sloth which we did not book but for future reference it would be fantastic. Secondly your staff are a credit, they are very friendly and approachable they were also very supportive and offering if we needed support by bringing in food to our clients. Overall very friendly place and accommodating for every ☺️

Cinema is generally pretty clean and welcoming. Staff are very helpful. Recently had a small complaint that I addressed with management and they responded straight away. Dealt with them by email and I must say the response I received was very professional and quick, very happy with the outcome. Thank you Izzy for all your help.

If I’m honest I don’t think the screen was good at all. I believe it had an issue at the beginning and they did reset it which was great. But the quality was a bit difficult to the eye. Also, the audience kept chatting away was a bit bothering.

A dramatic improvement over the offering on Leeside. Much larger projection with vastly improved crisp audio. My only complaint is that the projectors are notably lower quality overall (probably about 1280:480?) and that some of the auditorium lights don't shut off in some screens. The staff are friendly and most of them have a clear passion for their job, and while some of the prices appear extortionate that's par for the course no matter what cinema you go to. An incredible experience for local, and one I'm perfectly content with when compared to its contemporaries, but you'll have a generally better experience out of county even if it means paying that bit extra.
