Absoluty beautiful, a must see!
Great for walking/hiking, nice choice of different hikes, as visible in photo of the map of hiking trails.
Took the Sli an Easa trail (see photos) - medium difficulty, 1.8km in length with a lot of steps to take, few waterfalls to see (you'll need to cross a stream at one point to get to the panoramic view platform at the end the trail) and mostly going uphill, but the views are well worth it!
Photos don't do justice to Gougane Barra - and I'm definitely coming back again!

Very nice, tranquil, scenic and enjoyable place to visit. Beautiful walks and plenty of good clean air.

Lovely place that I'm so in love with.
But warning, traffic is really bad in gorgeous weather like when we went there as it takes us hours to get to the end of our destination from Cork city (more than 2hrs😔) . Loads of parked cars on the narrow roads, so incoming & outgoing cars were stucked along the way, lots of incoming cars made a U-turn as well to leave. By the time we arrived, less people were around, worth of our perseverance to stay on course.

Amazing place to chill that never gets boring. We keep coming back here and discovering new paths for hiking and relax outdoors in a wonderful natural setting. I recommend it to everyone. Everyone will find something for himself. also those with children. With the little ones, and with the bigger ones too.

Beautiful place, plenty of paths you can take. The views are something else altogether, spectacular! Don't pay the fiver to get in by car, park by the hotel up the road, Gúagán Barra a lot better and more enjoyable on foot.

Amazing walks, easily accessible by car. Do not bother to pay €5 for parking past the gate, the road doesn't go much farther. The pub by the hotel and church offers no food and smells bad, not recommended.

The trail we want on lead us through a serene forest. There was a thick lush green bed of grass with thickets of lush ferns. The trees were tall with beautiful green moss growing along their trunks. The trail itself was wide and graveled. I believe it could probably accommodate a motorized chair for those that can't walk it.

One of the most beautiful places for a walk in cork.
