Wow, back to the gorgeous Beaulieu House for Vantastival. Missed it sooo much.

A beautiful house with courtyard, walled gardens and a private chapel. Only open to the public at certain times of the year, although there are regular events on the grounds (e.g., glamping, family picnic day, etc.). The estate is best appreciated from the south side of the Boyne.

Visited with the ladies from ICA, walked the looped woodlands trail & then visited the beautiful old church & graveyard, followed by the walled garden. Really enjoyed it all.

Gorgeous house on the Boyne. We visited for Vantastical Festival 2018 and will return for a tour of the house! There are so many wonderful, quirky features to discover around the house to keep all ages happy.

Brilliant, relaxed and chilled out festival. This year was my first year and not my last.

Great garden and interesting personalized tour of the house. It was smaller than I thought with only seven or eight rooms open to visitors, but the guide was extremely knowledgeable and our tour lasted well over an hour. The garden was superb, much bigger and better than I would have expected for a house of this size. A great place to spend a few hours. There's no food available on site, but there are a number of local options including the County Louth Golf Club which has an okay restaurant that's fairly cheap.

A wonderful experience - the tour is full of detail about the families who have lived in the house, but unlike some houses, you do get to see a lot of the rooms. It is small, not on the same scale as more grand Irish country houses, but as a result it retains a more intimate feel.
The grounds are also worth exploring, with formal gardens, to fruit plantations to more wild woodland. A great day out and worth a visit.

I have just attended Vantastival at Beaulieu House for the third year. It's an incredible festival with excellent facilities.
I have also done the tour of the house and gardens in the past. A very informative and interesting tour. The guide was exceptional.
I highly recommend it.

A beautiful house full of generations of little details. It's not as large as some of the other grand houses you can see in Ireland, but this one is quite special because it's still a lived-in family home. It's worth stopping and doing the tour if you're in the area on a day that it's open.

Attended Vantastival which is always our favourite event. Relaxed, kid friendly, affordable and well run. lovely to see some up and coming new acts and enjoy the festival spirit. We love this event.

Unfortunately, I can't say what the actual house is like, as every time I have been to visit it has been closed! What I can say for certain is that there is a wonderful, wonderful forest path which is accessed right opposite the gates of the house. Cross over the wall opposite the house via a small sty which is to the right (with the house behind you), walk down the large field opposite the house for about 100 metres until you come to a very small, narrow bridge which cruises a stream and before you cross the bridge turn on the path to the right.
The path then wanders beside a swampy area through trees, meandering back and forth and providing numerous activities for kids of all ages (ranging from a 5 year old boy to an 11 year old girl, all of whom found various branches, roots, ropes etc. to keep themselves amused, and lots of photos taken).
The path is circular and eventually crosses over the aforementioned stream before heading back in the opposite direction to bring you back to a clearing on your left where you can see Beaulieu House in the background. Turn off the path here and you are brought back to the small, narrow bridge mentioned earlier.
We call this the walk in the Garlic Forest, as one Easter we did this walk and there were lots of little white flowers, the petals of which can be eaten and have the most amazing taste of garlic!!
It is not terribly long and was done by our young boy when he was 3.5 years old. However, I really think it is worth walking if you are anywhere near.

One of the most important places to visit if you are into historical houses. You will be met with a very informative and friendly guide. Put it on top of your list.

Not enough rooms open to the public. Gardens over grown needs a lot of work. Some areas interesting. Good views of the sea.
