Wandered over on a whim while exploring Kilkenny. Nice collection of shops. Grabbed a piece of souvenir artwork at a reasonable price. The shops seem to run a wide gamut with respect to cost.

Beautiful building next to Kilkenny Castle, transformed into an exhibition space with exhibitions, shops and ateliers of local artisans. The goldsmith workshops in the innermost courtyard are particularly beautiful. Take some time to browse the imaginative contemporary Irish creations, ranging from mugs to fabrics to jewellery; from a few tens to several thousand euros. From the courtyard at the end there is access to a beautiful garden.

Not the usual tourist kitsch! Something special! Directly opposite the castle, a large area with many courtyards is dedicated to craftsmanship. Here you can get fine souvenirs and also something special for yourself: woven, sewn, knitted, embroidered, knitted, knotted… or glass art, decorative items, paintings, behind glass, etc. Toilet on the 1st floor in the restaurant.
