J. M.I spent a wonderful morning today at the spa. It was my first time there and it was beautiful. I had an amazing facial, it was incredible. My facialist, Lucy was fantastic and I'll definitely go again.
s. c.Myself and my husband booked in to use the spa the day after Stephens Day and the customer service and communication from beginning to end was fantastic. They really made our spa experience truly luxurious and Lucy who was my massage therapist went over and beyond to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. I will definitely go back and would recommend this experience to anyone! Thank you so much.

D.Attended a friends wedding service was lovely and very well set up, room stayed in overnight lovely very spacious only issue would say is window was door that opened but when trying to open it as windows kept opening as door even after follow instructions. When having breakfast noticed same staff serving from the day before when seated seamed to take ages for menu to be given and for things like toast, and butter was not given with toast and had to ask and was another while waiting when had to ask again. Over all wouldn't say it would stop me from staying again

S. H.Disappointed with the room, view to rooftop and constant noise from plant room. The room was also not suitable for guest with disabilities and once highlighted was not accommodated to help her be able to use the shower, so she could not for the two nights stay. Expected better especially when she rang ahead to ask to be near lift and for disable parking. However, the staff, food and spa was fabulous.
Note, there is lots of steps to pool and spa with no lift is a challenge for those who can't get about easily.

C. M. G.Where to begin? We got married on 4th September 2021 and had the most perfect day! The major, if not sole reason for this was all of the staff at the Maryborough Hotel. We had selected the Maryborough because of its idyllic location and beautiful orangery. However, what really made it, was the staff. The ethos of the hotel is to make your day as stress free and enjoyable as possible and EVERYBODY follows this. We got married when there was a lot of uncertainty about what was allowable because of COVID. In such a circumstance, with many moving targets, you need somebody to guide you who gives you the confidence that everything will be alright. Ellis – our wedding planner- is such a person. She is calmness and serenity personified: born to do the job! She catered for our every need without fuss and often sorted out things for us without us even knowing – we can’t thank her enough. This attention to customer service was prevalent throughout; Brian, Anna, Kieran, the list is endless. In truth, everybody from senior management to reception, the bar staff, catering (the food was out of this world) and house keeping did something which was in truth, above and beyond what we expected. Our sincerest thanks for making our day so special. We look forward to seeing you all again on our one year anniversary!!
Z. B.Excellent service, fantastic food in both bar and dinner menus. Setting is very pleasant and staff accommodating. The entrance and exit is on a steep hill however which is quite stressful to get out of.
K. H.Maryborough hosted our Wedding on the 5th of August. They were a pleasure to deal with and guided us from the first day we met them. A special mention goes to Ellis who was there for us every step of the way. She ensure nothing was a miss for our big day and everything went off without a hitch. All our guests were impressed by the venue, rooms, food, service. We couldn't have been happier to have chosen the Maryborough and highly recommend it to any couples looking for a venue both for the service (orangery) and for the function in the ballroom.

But then they have teenagers cleaning so that's to be expected I think. The food was lovely but very expensive. Wish I could give more stars but 3 is really all I would give it.

K.Just back from a nights stay here and have to say it was incredible . From the moment you arrive to check out everything was perfect and ran so smoothly ! Staff are top notch so nice and chatty make you really feel welcome(Especially ,Nicole I believe her name was ?) Spa is to die for . Room was so clean. The bed was the comfiest ever !
Cocktails are delish and the dinner was incredible . I will defo be back and I'm going to recommend to everyone ! So happy my only complaint is that I wished I had booked two nights . 😊

T. E.I recently stayed here for my cousins wedding. This place is soo beautiful from the decor to the outside areas, when entering the staff were just so friendly even tho it was very busy as everyone was checking in at the same time. They have a lovely bar inside and again bar man was amazing, with a beautiful outdoor seating area with lots of space for the children to run around. They also had a secret garden and a badminton net to use, swimming pool was very nice along with the other facilities. Room was perfect and very clean and not a far walk to the high street which has a good choice of restaurants if you wanted to eat out which again the food at the hotel was amazing tho :) would definitely recommend to anyone travelling here and absolutely if you were thinking about for a wedding venue 5 star

Torn seating and damaged furniture in the main lobby and public areas and in the restaurant, let the hotel down in appearance. Do the owners/managers actually look at the facilities as there were plenty of senior management walking around during our visit/stay? Pool and spa very relaxing and never crowded!

Clean, good looking all over, spa & massage available, indoor pool, and little gym, sauna, hottube.. Food is marvelous, head chef knows his stuff. Portions are just enough if you're going with starters, main and desert. But not for everyone's pocket as dinner for 4 can go up to 150e easy. Staff is real professional and courteous and they are doing a great job.

B.Seriously, hands down my most favourite hotel in Cork. The staff are next to none, at every level....they are the reason we return twice a year every year for years now. The hotel is clean, comfortable and quiet. To the owner of the Maryborough, they’re a credit to you and themselves! I go with my husband and 2 boys and I’m in a wheelchair and never feel anyway put out. It’s so accessible and the place just feels like home! Go there and see for yourselves. Keep it up lads.

Bellini's restaurant is superb.
In these difficult Covid-19 times, the hotel issues an advance email detailing procedures and menus. In addition, they telephone on the day prior to arrival to further advise arrangements and clarify specific queries or apprehensions. Clara was absolutely wonderful in this regard.
All staff wear masks and dress rooms according to guest requirements. Safety and wellbeing are paramount.
Can't praise the hotel enough. Visit regularly and will unhesitatingly do so again.

Breakfast was lovely, really tasty. The dinner, was amazing. We all had different meals and all were impressed.
Close by the town is a short walk if you choose to wander. Highly recommend staying here.
M. W.Had the pleasure of staying here new years eve for my friends daughters wedding. From check in to checkout everything was perfect with really friendly happy helpful staff, delicious food and great ambience. The bedroom was a good size with really comfy beds and the best thing for me was the beautiful pillows. On checkout I enquired about the pillows and the receptionist was happy to give me the name phone number and email of the supplier as I would love to buy some for myself. Overall a beautiful hotel to stay in with a spa that I didn't get to sample 😢 would highly recommend 🥰

p. k.Went to the Maryborough for New Years 3 night stay. The Hotel is very nice and was nicely decorated. Our room was good and well presented. We ate from the bar menu first night and it was ok but we both felt in was not a pleasant place to dine. Next morning we had breakfast and it is semi buffet you get your cereal etc and hot food is waiter service, here lies the problem the scrambled egg n bacon was cold. We ask for it to be heated and it was returned cold. We had a bad experience each morning for breakfast so watch out for that, but it was very busy. First day our room was not cleaned and we also had a problem with a broken bath drain. The Pool n Spa are great and this is a good place to stay, but the attention to detail we expected was lacking. My only fault was that our garden level room lacked privacy. We appreciated the view, but with a wedding being held on the grounds outside, the presence of older kids running around outside the patio doors spoiled it for us.

M.I visited for a wedding, which was spent in the beautiful back garden of this great hotel. The ceilings are high and the taste of luxury is definitely there. Did not stay the night but the food served in the hall was delicious.
S. G.Nice hotel with gardens, spa and pool. Loads of meeting rooms. Restaurant is great, Bar area very large and a terrace. Location a bit outside so you cannot walk to the city centre unfortunately. At least a large shopping mall is within 20 minutes walking distance. Rooms are clean and nice but a hit dated which is sad considered the overall great impression of the hotel.

Positive sides:
- Friendly staff: reception, bar, restaurant, spa... Everyone there is friendly. Not a single exception in 4 days.
- Excellent reception. They offered a glass of Port on arrival.
- I liked the spa with the warm swimming pool, sauna and aroma therapy on free access.
- Close to the airport (10 min drive)
- Spacious rooms with windows you can open (at least on mine)
- Very good bar with plenty of different options when it comes to drinks
- Good restaurant where meat is cooked to perfection (if you ask medium, you get medium)
- Firm beds
Negative sides:
- The bottled water provided is not mineral water but a water filtered in the hotel. Guests I spoke with about described it as tasting "funny". I for one found its taste disgusting. Something between rain and swamp water. I don't know why they don't provide mineral water purchased from professionals rather than this DYI thing.
- Walls between rooms are thin. Some rooms are even separated with just wooden doors. So your quality of sleep would depend on how active is your neighbor. The first night, a couple of guys were having a quiet conversation but still I could hear everything. If someone next door turns the TV on, you will definitely hear it. So in terms of quietness, your mileage will vary.
- Rooms are very clean still there are invisible areas that collect dust.
- Restaurant is inconsistent. I took the same starter 2 days in a row and it didn't look the same (I am sharing the photos).
- Restaurant service sometimes good, sometimes a bit amateurish. Like a table of 12 but the waitress doesn't know who ordered what.
Note:
- You need to drive or get a cab to the city. I wasn't interested to visit the city in this particular trip so this wasn't an issue really but you need to include this in your plans if you want to visit the city.
It's an excellent place I recommend without any reservation. Due to the negative points I raised, the rating must be 4.
K. B.I want this hotel to be better everytime I walk through the doors. It has the potential to be but everytime it's the little things that let it down. I always feel the hotel is like a piece of cheap jewellery. It looks nice but it's not value for money. Staff seem to be always disgruntled and getting them to do anything with a smile is nigh on impossible. The overriding tone set by some of the managers tends to be either "stressed" or "snooty". I ask myself why? The hotel itself is a little far outside of town and for the same, and perhaps less, money you'd grab a city centre hotel room thereby alleviating the need for a late night taxi, which can be hard to come by on busy nights in cork city.

W.We got married in 2016 at the Maryborough Hotel, booked in last year for the weekend for our anniversary and went back today for dinner for my wife’s birthday and all I can say is “That place is absolutely faultless. The food is superb, the hotel is lovely and the staff are amazingly friendly and professional. I would recommend The Maryborough Hotel from having an ordinary lunch to a wedding of being the best place to choose.
O. M.This place seems to have gone downhill from when it opened. Men's bathroom had a powerful smell of urine. Bar has a steakhouse vibe to it. Not comfortable and the place is quite shabby from human traffic. Great food though. We were very happy with that.

J. B.Food is lovely here and staff were very helpful. The room was only average, looked a bit worn in places. Most disappointing was the separate thermal rooms/spa area for men and women. This was not very appealing for a couple visiting like my good lady and myself.

The hotel was very clean, but a lot of the fittings and walls need repainting or repair from scuffs and marks.
The highlight of the room was the very comfortable bed, but aside from that there isn't much else to say.
Food was mediocre at best. Risotto was far from creamy and beef was standard. Breakfast was standard buffet with a choice of breakfast that was only ok too.
I think we had built our expectations up too high. The hotel on IG looks beautiful but it's not the reality and we were let down.
This is a 3 star hotel at best, I wouldn't expect a 4 star experience.
w. b.Attended a wedding in thus 5 star hotel in July. The room in which the wedding ceremony took place was beautifully decked out. The weather had been fabulous all summer and for a 1/2 hour during the ceremory it started to rain and the gardens were set up for outdoor reception. The staff were very busy drying off seats and reorganising dry glasses and cutlery. It did not dampen the day. We had a great evening after the meal although it appeared as if they were under staffed for the meal as it took quite to complete. We danced the night away and otherwise had a very memorable couple of days here. Bar staff werr very friendly and understanding.

M.Excellent hotel , rooms are spacious and elegant, bar area and restaurant designed to allow customers space but with a fantastic atmosphere, in particular the staff are the best I have come across, I have stayed in many hotels across the world the staff of The Maryborough are the most professional and helpful, I need too mention one member in particular a trainee Christopher no request is too large his personal approach was a pleasure, he also has many years experience I will return to have the chats just with Chris , I look forward to returning in the future

The breakfast buffet is poor: a few sweets, serials, juice, cheeses and fruits. Not a tasty coffee. We were missing some yogurt and bread.
The 3rd floor had a constant toilet smell ! The room was above the pool and stinky badly from chlorine all the day long, no fan or air condition in the room.
The sauna area is divided to men and women - men section has big steam room and dry sauna. Women section has solarium and lacinium ( what the hell is that anyway...) the area that accessible to men and women has Lee’s big and less nice sauna not nice smelly steam room.
The all hotel looks poorly maintained - walls, carpet, doors, only 1 elevator- long walk to get to spa.

M. Á.The Spa is absolutely fantastic and it alone deserves a 5 stars review, the hotel's restaurant is very different though.
When booking the hotel we asked if the restaurant had any vegan options and they said that being vegan was not going to be a problem as the chef could cook something else than the normal menu.
At the time we arrived to the restaurant and requested a vegan option, everybody startled and looked at us like if we were martians! And after 30 minutes they brought a horrendous chickpeas salad, so bad I left it on the table.
Breakfast was exactly the same, we asked for a vegan breakfast and they brought a pancake full of dairy cream, when we called the restaurant and pointed that the pancake was not vegan they were very quick and they brought an excellent vegan breakfast in almost no time.
Overall, the Spa is fabulous, the hotel itself is tremendously comfy but the restaurant lacks imagination and options.

J. S.The room (318) was awfull! Directly over a storage & staff area where staff was shouting & dragging cages on wheels around from really early. No air conditioning or temperature control & a huge big duvet on the bed in August? No fridge or mini bar. Any area hidden by curtains etc were forgotten. Breakfast wasjust ok.
T. C.Far and away the best hotel I ever stayed in. The facilities are second to none the staff couldn't do enough to help and the food is top quality. Also the best afternoon tea I ever had and that's including Ashford castle, Carlton House, the Ritz and dromoland castle to name a few. A lovely spa complex and lovely grounds I have nothing bad to say. To make a point of how nice they are me and my wife booked afternoon tea and we turned up early and they gave us free hot chocolate for keeping us waiting ,It was our fault not theirs. When we showed up early at Ashford castle they sent us out in the rain and made us feel uncomfortable. This hotel is my yard stick for how hotels should be operated it lovely without the stuffyness I hope it never changes.

D. H.Second time staying here and slightly worse than our previous trip. Our room still had some mess in it, tissue jammed into the eye-hole on the door for example. The shower door was wedged shut and took more force than should be needed to open it.
Most importantly though was the amount of noise coming from the piping surrounding the room in the middle of the room which woke me up in the middle of the night, this issue might be local to that particular room but that is the room I was given

What a beautiful hotel went with my whole family so let's start great friendly staff real cork people so if your coming from another country this is a great hotel to vist really mix with the locals not like some hotels where there is no Irish and I am not being rude but a lot people come to Ireland to meet Irish people and for that this hotel is perfect.
Restraunts were lovely great food hotel rooms are really nice and tidy and very large the swimming pool was great had loads of fun but the people who worked at the pool were a bit rude but the pool was awesome and chacozi everything else in the hotel was also great and the hotel sorrounding was so peaceful and the woodland around was beautiful all the family loved it.
Special thanks to Darragh the waiter in the restraunt he was a great lad and thanks to the rest of the staff.

we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and on arrival we were wished a happy anniversary and told that our room had been upgraded to our delight,very pleasant receptionist. On arrival in room we were greeted with a bottle of prosecco and strawberries,room fab also.
Onto the restaurant for dinner,super food,super service, and after dessert we were treated to more champagne and strawberries.
Met Aisling in reception following morning,so helpful.

breakfast on Saturday morn, had great fun with Kitty who served us.
Just to sum it all up,we stayed here once previously over 12 years ago and enjoyed then, but we have to say that everyone deserves so much credit for a fabulous stay, nice to see staff happy in their jobs.
We have since been blessed with 2 great kids whom we left with family, but now see that children are more than welcome at the Maryborough. We look forward to a return visit in the near future

O. M.The spa is probably the nicest in Cork city in my opinion. Only downside is that there are separate pools/saunas for men and women which isn't the best if you're going as a couple.

It is a family friendly hotel and facilities include an indoor swimming pool, spa and fitness centre. For business customers there is a business centre and meeting rooms. Dining options available are a restaurant, cafe and bar where food is also provided. Ample free parking is provided on site and the hotel has free WiFi for customers.
It's 93 bedrooms are ensuite and have LED TVs with satellite channels and coffee/tea making facilities.
