It was good at the night I visited. As they rotate their comedians quite a bit I expect that experiences can vary.
It is held in the basement and the space is somewhat tight but I think it ads to the experience.
The show is technically free but you are expected to tip on the way out. This works well though because then you can tip according to how good you thought the show was.

We were at the Stag’s head on a Tuesday and stumbled upon the Comedy Crunch one night, and we’ve been back many times since. It’s a really great time if you want a laugh while having a few pints at the same time. The atmosphere is great, but make sure to go early to get a good seat because the place is usually packed by the time the show starts!! Another incentive to go is the free ice cream they give you in the middle of the show!

We happened on this place at just the right time. It was standing room only because it's very small but the comedians were all good and had us laughing. Cash only bar, but you can bring a drink down from upstairs if you don't have cash.

A great night with great acts, and not only do you only give money if you enjoyed it they also give you ice-cream or sweets.
If you are looking for a fun night that will be memorable and give you good conversation I think you will be happy you went

It's a good way to spend an evening in Dublin, however the show itself is fairly mediocre. The jokes are, ahem, not very sophisticated and sometimes it felt like a bad attempt at Jim Jeffries. The host is awesome though, props to him.

One of the highlights of any Dublin visit. Been there a few times already. Usually there are 4 acts of 20 minutes. My experience is that first two acts before the break are better. More inexperienced or doubty performances are in the second part.
I think the comedians and the curator take a share from the proceeds of the downstairs bar. So I would buy my drinks downstairs to help the performers more.
There is limited seating, so arrive early. Gate opens at 8.15 and most good seats are taken by 8.25. Both the curator/announcer guy and some performers pick on the audience in the front seats. Mostly friendly banter but sometimes gets distasteful and sexist (depends on the performer) If you are sensitive to being put on the spotlight avoid the front seats. In my experience it is all good fun, and most performers will not make you terribly uncomfortable anyway. This is a comedy club. Expect some sharp witts.
Crowd is usually very international and performers usually do not have strong accents. Do not fear that you may not understand their English. They are aware that the audience is mixed.
At the interval there will be ice cream and at the end donations are accepted. Be generous.

Probably the best comedy club in Dublin, with some of the best Irish and International acts, free ice-cream, and pay what you want for entry. You never know who'll drop in; they had Bill Burr for free last month!

This place is a must stop if you like comedy and drinks. We were there on Sunday when the show is free. Dublin has some very funny people
