E. B.Just celebrated my wedding at the Parkview Hotel. Absolutely fantastic. The staff went above and beyond. Everything went smoothly. The food was amazing and served hot. We had more than enough to eat. The function room was set up beautifully for both ceremony and dinner. The bridal suite was fabulous and even the breakfast was top notch. All my guests were raving on about the Parkview Hotel and their amazing staff. Thank you Nicole and Helen for an amazing day.
p. m.Eight family members went down the weekend gone. Well all I can say if you want to go to a hotel. This is the one for you. It's like pre COVID. The staff were brilliant from the girl at reception who was nice all the time. To all the bar restaurant staff. They all could not do enough for you. And we're a great laugh. good drinks beautiful food .
M. M.Myself and my friends stayed here for a girls night away, the hotel was clean, the rooms clean, bed comfortable only thing TV channel selection poor & a small stain on roof. The food at dinner was lovely only thing was the Eaton mess could have been nicer. Breakfast next morning was lovely & the staff were brilliant the whole time we were there. We will be back as it is a central hotel for visiting all the local attractions.

m. t.Great place to base yourself gor touring Wicklow. We stayed for two nights. Receptionist was rude and confrontational on August 21st. I was annoyed by her attitude and was glad not to see her again. Other receptionist very nice on checkout . Hotel itself needs some TLC.

a. O.Back from a weekend stay here. Just thought I'd give some feed back on our stay.
Firstly, Newtown Mount Kennedy is perfectly situated in wicklow for anyone who intends to hike/walk for a number of days making the hotel a potentially ideal base.
On check-in we were asked to pay up front. I'm OK with this. We were then told the terrace bar and restaurant was closed off for a private function (wedding) and we would have to use the inside bar if we wanted food or a drink. We were looking forward to chilling on the terrace in the evening sun after a long drive and so we're disappointed. The hotel lost out here as we went elsewhere for food and drinks that evening.
Our room was on the second floor. It was very clean and overlooked the main road as opposed to the terrace at the rear of the hotel. To be fair we slept well after the traffic dwindled outside.
We had not booked breakfast and there was no mention of it on check-in. We went to another establishment nearby, again the hotel lost out here.
After a full day of hiking, we returned for our second night. This time the terrace was open and we, again, looked forward to unwinding with food and drinks after a long day. There was a 40th birthday on inside the hotel and a few tables outside on the terrace were occupied by smaller celebrations. We eventually were given a table after a bout of pure disorganisation from hotel staff. The food was excellent but ordering was a very slow process even though there were numerous young staff working.
Sleep that night was disturbed by guests next door returning to their room at 2am. They were not majorly noisy but the thin walls do nothing to block out conversation and movement from other rooms. Also, slamming doors on the corridors add to the noise.
We checked out as planned the next morning after experiencing probably the worst shower ever. How a shower can actually stop mid-flow is beyond me. Not only is it uncomfortable but it is also dangerous. This is 2021.
To sum up:
Nice location.
Good food
Lovely terrace (when available).
Clean rooms.
Road noise and patron noise due to room design
Poor service from numerous inexperienced staff. Nobody seemed to be running the show.
Poor showers.
Could be more accommodating to people touring the surrounding area rather than functions.
This could be an exceptional hotel but is falling short on the above. It could be a solid cheaper alternative to the high end hotel out the road. Also, the hotel sign on the main road outside the hotel is filthy. It was the first thing we noticed when pulling up. An easy fix.
S. S.We had our wedding here 2 weeks ago, we were 3fd time lucky with our date and finally got our day. From the very first time we met Nicole until the day after our wedding nothing was too much trouble for her. She gave us fantastic tips and advice and helped us with everything. Then covid hit 4 days before our original date. To say the Nicole and John were amazing to us throughout is an understatement, they reassured us over everything moved our dates no problem, and were just a eadure to deal with. Our wedding day couldn't have gone better from the beautiful bridal suite, the amazing food, the fantastic service and both the ceramony room and reception room were stunning. We can't thank them enough for everything we got a 5 star wedding experience and we wouldn't change a single thing. Thanks to everyone in the hotel, reception, maintenance, kitchen service and management you all to the most fantastic job. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

M. L.. Went for lunch the other day, staff were great but bar could do with a revamp, upholstery could do with an update, floors need attention also. Food very good.
T. P.Apart from 1 negative experience when trying to eat outside, the staff here were absolutely brilliant ๐ especially our waitress on Friday night Alannah. She went above and beyond to make our night special and is a really nice girl too. We will definitely return and reccomend to friends based on the attentiveness of the staff.
J. K.I was in a group of walkers who had prebooked coffee and scones. The hotel /staff didn't seem organised for us. Tea came but was nearly cold before milk /sugar arrived.

A. C.Lovely staff and clean and nicely decorated rooms. The TV channels are very poor though. Mot even mentioning their quality.... The hotel is close enough to Glendalough, well located after a long day in the mountains.
The big disappointment was the food for dinner, the filet steak was amazing, gorgeous meat but the sides were not great at all. Frozen and tasteless chips. Their chicken sizzlers is alright, nothing really exciting but edible. Could be improved considering the price. However the service was great and the floor staff more than nice and friendly.
Lovely full Irish in the morning, served quite fast and warm. But, no orange juice. Only apple and in boxes... How hard is it to press an orange? I'd do it myself if only they add fresh fruits.

Hotel was wonderful. Staff using face coverings and sanitizers everywhere. Room was spacious and very comfortable. TV Channels were limited - something during this COVID period especially - could be improved on. Manager Morat and his staff in dining room were friendly and gave excellent service.
Breakfast each morning was delicious!
Only one fault to mention - but a big one.
The evening meals were not up to standard. So much so that we ate elsewhere.
A new evening chef may be the answer to that problem.
Park View Hotel is situated in a lovely quiet area and we hope to return again soon.

B. M.We checked in on Monday 31st August and the receptionist was lovely, she made us feel welcome to the hotel. The room was nice and spacious however the TV had limited channels. No Irish channels, only four English channels, two of which were news channels. Not great for when you want a day of lounging and relaxing. The receptionists the following days we found were unhelpful with this issue. One was very rude and blunt, this is the lady who checked us out on Thursday 3rd September. I've noticed the TV issue seems to be long standing and in COVID times we feel this really needs to be looked into as restrictions no longer allow you to use communal areas.

B. G.Pleasantly surprised by how good this hotel was. We stayed 2 nights and ate in the bar 1 night. Only complaint would be the pillows but it was minor. The bar food was also surprisingly good and the service was on point. Would highly recommend this hotel.
M. G. (.Rooms were rather sparse, I guess due to covid-19 and the risk of contamination, the rooms were a bit bare. I missed the complimentary toiletries and disliked the paper cups in the rooms. I understand the rooms not being serviced so I think this should reflect in the price of the room. The breakfast also lacked variety, like ham, cheese etc. However, the cooked breakfast was delicious and served on a really hot plate, which I love! Plenty of tea & toast.
We also had dinner in the hotel. The sirloin steak was 1st class and would highly recommend it.
The staff are all very friendly and professional. The hotel seems to have put a lot of effort into ensuring everyone's safety, with the wearing a masks and lots of hand sanitizer everywhere.
Although I've only given 3* I would still recommend this hotel, just don't expect any extras.

L. S.I was up graded to a suite with jacuzzi, four poster bed and comfortable settee. It was beautiful, also clean and had all the facilities and toiletries that I could require. My meal was delicious, the best homemade chips I have had in a long time. The service was superb and the mini breakfast I requested was just right. The reception staff were very helpful, all in all a very enjoyable stay. I would heartily recommend it.
V. B.My only disappointment in Ireland. We arrived at the hotel at 4pm and the front desk person couldn't seem to find our reservation, then told us our room wasn't ready and asked us to wait in the lobby. I just found it very odd that our room wasn't ready after 4pm and the front desk person was not friendly and she checked other people in and sent them to their room, while we waited. Once our room was ready, I was very disappointed when I opened the door to our French balcony. There were cigarette butts everywhere and cobwebs hanging off the outside of the door. We were just two people, yet there was a king size bed in the room and two additional twin beds.
I would not stay here again.
Their one saving grace was the bar/restaurant. The food was great and the service was excellent.

J. C.Went for Sunday lunch with 2 friends today. We ate in the bar/bistro area. Good quality food, okay service, reasonable price. Dining chairs need refurbishment, some are in poor condition. This hotel is a few years old now and while we enjoyed our meal, there were a few chairs badly soiled that I would not like to have to sit on. Will come again for the food but it wouldn't take a lot to smarten this place up.

S. L.I've given this 5 stars as I have stayed here twice and each time I have visited my circumstances have led me to ask for special requirements. On each occasion I feel that the staff went out of their way to help and accommodate myself and my family. It's in a lovely local area of Ireland that has some shops nearby. The hotel itself is very clean. The food and drink is very good here as well.

The staff in the hotel is really friendly and nice. But if you're travelling by train go to Greystones station don't take the risk and stop in other train stop (Kilcoole). Don't have any taxi close to this place.

Hot breakfast was delicious and made to order served on nice warm plates vegetarian options. Staff at breakfast couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Had lunch in the bar salmon and a lovely chef's salad. The hotel is near to shopping amenities chemist supermarket. All in all an excellent location for touring so much to do around Wicklow would definitely recommend ๐

S. H.Seriously poor standard of accommodation for the price. Staff are friendly but the place is filthy. Every single window and mirror in the place, be it our room., the reception area or the bar was in dire need of cleaning. Breakfast was overcooked and awful. Room was OK but carpets stained and bathrooms need updating.

P. R.Whilst on our way to catch the ferry from Dublin we stopped off in Newtown for lunch and it was excellent. Great service and lovely food and all at a reasonable price. Ample off street parking.

D.We had our christmas work do here with many other companies about 250 people in this room food was standerd but hot served by friendly staff fast as of the night envolved .very active bar with plenty to buy and staff eager to serve you all at our table 20 people enjoyed the night no complaints enjoyable venue.

What I didn't like about it was, the rooms were like ovens at night, well our room was anyway, and we didn't even have the heating on, couldn't open a window because there was no windows, just two doors onto a rooftop, that was a no no, I wasn't going to keep a door open at night with 2 children in the room, so we had to suffer, It was really unbearable to the point that I had to strip my 6 year old daughter in the middle of the night as her pjs were soaking, it was really uncomfortable. The bathroom water was a brown colour, the toilet seat was hanging off, didn't find that out untill I was almost on the floor and I'm 24 weeks pregnant, and the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall. The deal we had was 3 nights bed and breakfast and one evening meal, on arrival we found out that we actually had to pay for what the kids ate and that deal was only for the adults, this is the first time anything like that has ever happened in any hotel, any deal we have ever got is usually for everyone, so we thought that was very odd..
T. C.Stayed here in 2015. Was great, staff were lovely. Had dinner at the Park Lounge, had a dish with prawns in it and it didn't taste right but my friends steak was fantastic. The tv can be connected to Google Chrome cast if you have one, if you wanted to watch Netflix etc.

At breakfast, albeit without vegetables (almost) but varied - fruit salad in addition to fruit, cereal selection, bread selection, baked goods, white cheese, jam selection, fruit yogurt, eye / scrambled egg made on site, tomato and roasted noodles, baked small potatoes , Coffee and juice selection for drinking. Anyone who eats meat could also get meat supplement. A satisfying meal for the day while hiking in Wicklow Park or in the Lakes Region.
