T.The location of this premises is absolutely excellent.. particularly if the sun is shining... however the food was underwhelming.. the prawn salad was average at best..the prawns were heavily covered in a mayonnaise type sauce..bland ..fish & chips were similar ... chips cold... pricey for what we received which was disappointing..Coffee small but good.. ladies bathrooms need attention. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. four stars for location..

I'd recommend here for anyone family, couple, friends. We've had a few works dos here sitting outside. If your look for food in Dunmore then your onto a winner. Enjoy.
s. f.Had dinner there two days ago, super staff, really nice menu, all family were happy. Pricey, but then the location commands it. Food is fresh, tasty, everyone interacting with the customers, v good experience. Could do with more veg options, I was v happy with my only option of mezze dish.
The only "feedback" I can give is, some staff with face mask under their nose, which didn't bother me too much as we were sitting outside, but looks sloppy for the business.
A. B.Great location beside the beach and overlooking the cliff. Arrived on spec and they had plenty of tables they have a huge outdoor space plenty of room for social distancing. Very impressed with service nothing was too much to ask especially when we asked for something for toddler that wasn't on the menu (sausages) the manager didn't even ask any questions just put it on our order. Staff very helpful and food was perfect nice selection of dishes available. Went inside to use toilet and reception staff very friendly would be interested in staying in this place at some stage it looked fantastic. Highly recommend if visiting Dunmore East.

A. O.The location is stunning. The bedroom was fantastic 2 windows facing the sea...the food was beautiful. The staff were so efficient all through the afternoon but come 8.30pm it was impossible to get service, between 5 to 7 staff gathered chatting at the service station . Waited 25 mins for a beer☹

M. D.We spent the weekend at the Strand and I honestly can't fault it. Our room was spotless and really comfortable. Both the food and the service were top-notch and it was great to see it so busy after 6 months of being closed. All the staff were attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend The Strand Inn! We are booked to return in August and can't wait!

D. M.We've just come back from four nights at this wonderful Hotel. It had just re-opened like so many places and they did it perfectly, from a charming welcome from both front of house and the restaurant staff to the young, smiling Bar Staff.
Our room had a splendid view of the cove below and it was very clean and comfortable with a huge and very firm bed.
The high spot of each day was restaurant whose Chef was a Magician who produced Prawns cooked in Garlic which popped in our mouths and the best Calamari that we've ever eaten. The fish was fresh and light with salads to excite the taste.
Would we go back .... YES .... we've booked in for another break in August and for The New Year Celebrations.

A. S.Had a stop over for one night in the Log Cabin with my daughter. It was beautiful so quiet a real little gem immaculate clean. Headed to the restaurant for breakfast the next morning 'what a view' sun shinning over the strand what an uplifting view. Best breakfast, lovely friendly staff. P. Y.Always have a great time in The Trans Inn. Originally going there for dinner but didn't know the restaurant close at 5pm, so we end up have food in the bar. Turns out their bar foods were as great as restaurant!
Had curry, mushroom stuff, fish and chips, lasagna! And they were all lovely!! The Strand Inn never let us down.

There was a mirror in bathroom but no plug as u wouldn't normally get a plug socket in bathrooms. Shower wasn't great turned cold mid shower. Needs a bit of an up grade. Breakfast was lovely though. But views great and nice deck outside of the room. Would be great on a fine sunny day. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great while we were there. But that's Ireland for you. .
T. K.I had a really lovely two days here, everyone was so friendly and the rooms were spotlessly clean, and had a beautiful view of the sea. We ate both nights at the bar and the food was wonderful too (especially the pate, and the seafood pie!)

A. G.Right beside the beach. We arrived at a busy time, five adults and five kids and were served quickly. Beautiful location only 20 minutes from Waterford and 10 from Tramore. The food was pretty good. I had one of the best fish pies i have ever had. Kids were all looked after and the staff were polite and helpful. Would reccomend a day trip.

Relaxed atmosphere so be prepared for a chilled out and mellow time. Blue Grass festival on the last weekend in August is always a big draw so long as you like country music!

B. C.The Strand is in a beautiful location and food was very good. However, as Francis Brennan suggested, they could pay attention to their bedrooms. Bed was comfy, but although there were teabags etc. there were no teaspoons or kettle! We had to request one. Also the sink tap was wonky and when we used it we had to pull it over to stop water running onto floor. Correcting this and ensuring that everything necessary for bedrooms is in place would make a good experience much better.

In Sapin we use to order coffee and snacks and stay in the desk many hours, here they got a bit nervous because we where not leaving when expected, but I don't think is the staff's fault, is more a cultural difference.

E. E.We had heard the fish and chips was amazing at The Strand Inn so my party wanted to eat just that. Being gluten sensitive I couldn't have that particular dish and went with a version of a cesar salad. Asked for no croutons and thought to add potatoes instead when our server offered glutenfree toast, which they did have. It hadn't occurred to me to ask so I was happy she suggested it. The salad as well as the toast was very good! No complaints from the rest in my party either. Oh, but there was no glutenfree beer..

But that is the main crux of the matter - more than once gone there to only depart after being ignored by waiting staff and not even managing to get an order taken.....in spite of the fact that there often enough seems to be sufficient staff to cover.

S. S.I stayed at the Strand Inn on a Saturday night with my girlfriends (all in our mid-30s). On first inspection, the hotel seemed very nice but when we settled in, we began noticing things that weren't quite right like mis-matched furniture, cheap laminate floors, tired carpets, broken lock on bathroom door etc etc. To be fair though, overall, it's quite aesthetically pleasant to look at but I expect more when a hotel bills itself as being 'boutique'! We were delighted as there was a balcony off our room overlooking the sea and the wait staff kindly chilled our bottles of prosecco. We had also booked in for dinner that evening. I am coeliac and I ordered pate with coeliac bread. When my dish arrived, I questioned whether the bread was coeliac or not and I was advised that it was not by the waiter and he said he would change it immediately. My pate came back out (supposedly with coeliac bread) and I tucked in happily until the waiter came along and told me not to eat the dish as there was a mistake and the bread was in fact non-coeliac. I advised the waiter that I had eaten the bread already and that I would be sick and he just didn't seem to get it. In fairness, he was only a young lad and probably didn't have a clue about the implications for me if I ate gluten. I decided to have the salmon instead which was a nice enough dish. Anyway, the manager came over to apologise and I accepted his apology. Then I had bouillabaisse for my main which was a poor attempt. I make it myself at home and I know exactly how it should be and it was a far cry from my dish, it was a waste of good fish quite frankly! Although the dining room had the most stunning views of the ocean, it was very very loud and we could barely hear one another, however, it was exceptionally busy given it was late July so I can live with that. Anyway, once we were done, we ordered the bill and not only was our order on the menu but there were lots of pints of Carlsberg and Bulmers and additional items which we hadn't ordered. I also did not expect to pay for any of my food at all given the huge mistake they had made yet my food was on the bill. We asked for another bill and they removed the drinks etc and just my starter but left my main course on the bill so we decided to pay the bill but just deduct the price of my main course, I was perfectly happy to pay for the wine and my coffee. We then went to the bar for drinks and the manager came over to me with our bill and the cash we paid in his hand and said that we had left them short. I explained to him that I was coeliac and that although I was not feeling ill at that moment in time, gluten remains in your system for 6 weeks leaving a scar on my small intestine and that I would be sick and lethargic at some point in the immediately future (the next morning I felt dreadfully ill and had to pull over the car a few times). He accepted that I shouldn't have to pay for my food and gave us a bottle of prosecco as compensation. He explained the mishap in the kitchen and whilst doing so, it became very clear to me that neither the wait nor kitchen staff had a clue about the protocol when dealing with coeliacs. All I can say is that I hope they sort it out as the place has great potential. I think the hotel itself could do a bit of sprucing up of the hotel also as it's not exactly cheap at €60 per head for B&B for one night for 3 people sharing. It was all just a bit shambolic!! In saying that, I would stay again and hope for a better result!

O. K.Its a very nice family run on an expetional location at the beach in a small cosy village. The staff werehad had high attention on the guests in a typical unformal way as you would ecpect in a good countryside inn.
The owners at the place served perfect dinner in the restaurant where all specialities from the sea were served. If you like seafood the restaurant is very good. In the other end of the hotel, there is a pub for the locals and guests of the hotel.
If you enjoy a good irish pub a small good famili restaurant and nice clean room, this is the place. Some of the rooms are old but they were nice and clean.
Best of all we got many smiles from the staff and owners.
