Reviews of TEDDY'S Ice Cream East Pier Lighthouse
Love it.. it's just amazing to be on the harbour with nice chilly wind and Wonderful ice cream. I would recommend to everyone who visits there can at least try this one time and surely you will love it!!
Some great ice-cream to enjoying while having a walk in the East-pier. Given that we are going through the time of pandemic, it is great to see that high levels of hygiene and safety is being followed, so it feels safe to enjoy and ice-cream.
Given the chilly winds, the calls of the birds, and the sound of the waves - one of the best places to enjoy an ice-cream, especially with your partner and/or family.
Stoning view, so many boats and the lighthouse it's just amazing. Worth the walk all the way from. The train station to the end of the right pier, where the lighthouse is located.
It's well worth to enjoy the sunset in the pub, drinking a traditional Irish pint, with snacks.
Gorgeous for an afternoon stroll or run. It does get very busy in the summer time. Good ice cream and fish and chips options at the start of the pier.
Nothing beats away the cold weather better than a teddy’s on the pier
The boat was delicious the weather was lovely and the fishing is starting to improve next month should be better for the horse markrel ill be getting ice cream every day im out there I usually 🎏 in howth but u can not 🎏 in comfort out their the pier is 2small dun laoghaire is exlent cu2moro teddy ice cream im of 2bed 4 a good night sleep
A quaint village with a lovely pier where you can take a romantic walk, sea the lighthouse and if you are lucky like us - to have a glimpse of a seal.
Terrific place for a walk- at weekends if you like the bustle and the vibe; on weekdays if you like it a bit quieter. Views of the bay beyond are lovely.
de Teddys ice cream is well tops, better than all dem gelatoes n all, best in town i say. well worth the walk down the long road. ye,
There is plenty to do in Dun Laoghaire and well worth visiting. If you fancy a stroll up the pier with ice cream or a bag of chips and you may see a spectacular sunset. The forty foot is irish tradition to have a dip in the sea all year round. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Easy to travel by car, bus and Dart (train). There are two piers to walk and I prefer the south pier.
Nice place for a walk. Chips vans and ice cream etc available.
Beautiful promenade place for walks.you will find lighthouse at the end of pier.
Live in Dunlaoghaire all my life spent many a Day and night on the pier, so much fun and memorable time's, my father has a bench o. The pier, and myself and daughter and grandsons walk the pier all the time, their is a peacefulness about the pier that bring a lot of happiness to me and my family and it's all FREE. 😘
Wonderful place ! There is a cute little market on sunday at the people's park
Fun to watch the kids jump into the water, listen to street performers and look at the Dublin Bay, the boats in Dun Laoghaire harbor and Dun Laoghaire.
I very like this place, nice icecream, and beautiful view near the park. I like the man who spend the first day in his job. Good luck for him☺️☺️
Lovely pier, it's about a 3k walk from to the lighthouse and back. There is always plenty of activity.
Nice clean pier which is convenient to public transport and parking. It is a great place for a walk as it is safe, accessible and people are always around. You can get a coffee/ice cream at either end of the pier (normal working hours) and during the day the end of the pier is open and you can see the old bell etc.
well worth a walk on if you’re in the area.
Amazing place for walks, any time of the day.
Nice treat at the bottom of the pier, staff were very friendly.
Always a nice place for a little walk and an ice cream
Lovely area for walking, jogging or having the rest by the sea.
What a fantastic Pier with a wonderful view. Perfect place for a walk in Dun Laoghaire and lots of great people around. If you are ever in Dublin please make the trip down to Dun Laoghaire and go for a walk along the pier. They also have a great ice cream stand at the end of the pier, so walk the whole way to the end and treat yo self! I wish I took more picture while I was there, go on sunset its wonderful.
Alright I guess. Nice and clan, with some work always going on.
Nice Ice cream 🍨 after a great walk at the pier
Nice place to walk, no need nothing else... everything is there... the view is amazing, if you are looking for a place to walk and meditate go there... you can get the dart until Blackrock get off there and just walk. You will have many places to eat or just drink a cup of coffee or tea , or even ice cream...
The pier is a lovely place to walk when the sun is shining. It is very exposed to wind and rain so wrap up warm. Recommended - get an ice cream on a sunny day and enjoy the walk.
When you exit the train station, head to the left and follow the road/coast and you'll reach the pier. Nice walk near a lot of sail boats. We chose not to walk all the way to the lighthouse given it was chilly. Public bathrooms are no longer open so plan accordingly. There are little pop up stands that sell ice cream or fish and chips.
It's a quite historic bridge in that there was a toll of half a penny to cross from north sidecliffy to south side. Cross from north side to south n u right into Temple Bar area. Have experienced some anti social behaviour around the area so just be careful of your belongings etc. Despite this it is my favourite route from north to south side the city :). This teview was in relation to Half Pe ny Bridge in Dublin - not sure why its under Teddys Ice Cream Emporium 🤣
Gorgeous place to be on a sunny day. There's a Teddy's ice cream stall on the pier now, so no need to walk down to the shop. To walk to the lighthouse and back is almost 2km. Parking at the yacht club beside it is limited so it may be better to find somewhere to park further away. Dun Laoghaire offers plenty of places to eat and drink neae the pier and the dart stop is also close by.
A must for all Dubliners and everyone else lovely town great restaurants. Tip go through the library to top floor to see the views, then walk out and your at the museum. Great walks along the pier.
Beautiful walk gorgeous views
Great viewing point and a nice place for a walk. If your a Dubliner there’s no way you don’t know how true that is! Also round the day of with a Teddy’s ice cream - perfect !
Heavy milky ice cream.
Great to finish walking on the rocks an back down the pier, an finish with an ice cream, they are so friendly, which is why we return.
If we go somewhere an they are not pleasant and polite, we find somewhere else next time, but we are returning customers 😊
Great walk with brilliant scenery
Yummy ice cream. It’s nice to have an ice cream when walking down the the end of the pier.
Ice cream is very cold and is more tasty than the HB or other store-bought type of ice creams. It was a long walk down the pier, but well worth it to get a teddy's ice cream, yum !!
Was there at post wedding reception. What a beautiful place....I have fond memories of Dun Laoghaire pier ...the walks and wonderful evenings spent there. Taking the boat back and forth to London via Holyhead. I spent many happy years as a undergraduate and graduate at RCSI Dublin.
I am Canadian with deep Irish roots.
A wonderful visit ....Thank you.
The perfect sunny Sunday afternoon is this..lunch in the food market of the People Park in dun Laoghaire, followed by a long stroll of the Pier and ending by watching sunset in Fourth Foot..with a plunge in the Cristal waters.if you dare..
That the Irish Dolce Vita...
Fishing from the harbour wall (west pier) for mackerel is great fun.plenty of level standing room gives a feeling of security and safety, leads to ability to fish at any time of the day or night. But there is very little protection from the wind or the rain. Also there are no toilets or cafe's on the pier. There are two levels which you can walk on .The lower level gives access to the harbour and its boats (most people fish here.)or you can fish from the upper level (into the seaward side tru gaps in the outer wall.you can either float fish or use feathers to catch a wide variety of fish.
Great spot for a walk to blow away the cobwebs... You'd never know who you might meet. You've got to try Teddy's icecream on the pier, and more importantly, the van selling fish and chips.. the haddock and chips is gorgeous and inexpensive😊😊
Super popular and one of few spots to grab an ice cream for a pier walk. Pity there is no italian style gelato in the area for a bit of variety.
Great view over Dun Laoghire .
Fab walk by the sea with great views. Dublin Bay Ferries service to Howth worth taking. Took Dad and my 3 children last month for a meal and back on DART, which everyone enjoyed.
Is there anywhere else better for a 99, eh I dont think so.
Just get the right time!
This pier, while not having the lovely views of Howth's West pier of Ireland's Eye is good for a whole lot of different reasons.
On a calm day, the quiet lapping of the waves on the rocks towards the head of the pier easily lull one into a calm hypnotic state. No sounds of civilization yet seconds away from people.
On a warm summer's day when the children are playing, and the young one's are diving in and out of the pier the buzzing of humanity is more deeply invigorating than in a park given the presence of deep water nearby.
And of course, the solid length of the pier provides a secure footing for the aged and the very fit for their constitutionals!
But my favourite is to watch cowardly from the relative safety behind the inner walls while nature unleashes its furious torments during thunderous storms, when one cowers for all those at sea and cannot but feel deep gratitude to the Heavens for the safety of the shore.
Lovely scenic walk. Plus, in the summer months, there's icecream at the end of the pier. An incentive for you AND for the kids to walk all the way to the end.
Great for walks, Coffee and Teddys Icecream
Ice with a view!! 🍦 Nice staff!!
Harbour company has been dissolved. Now in the hands of the local authority. Great place for a walk but €2 an hour for parking makes you walk faster
I don't know if the ice cream is great, or if eating an ice cream while going for a walk at the seaside is the great thing... But I am glad Teddy's is here for a 99 when I need one
This Teddy's outlet at the end of the pier is a gold mine. A bit stingy about giving an extra napkin for kids. Prefer the Teddy's on the main Street outside the pier
2 piers - east and west. West pier is longer and attracts more crowds.Has coffee and food kiosks. Lively promenade.Often musicians performing there.Cruise ships depart from beginning of West pier.West pier has night lightening. While East pier is more wild, no lights at night, no food and shopping, more fisherman there.
Always a good walk. Icecream and toilets at the very end. Great spot for people watching. Cool things to see like the floor map at the start
Love Teddy's ice cream, enjoyed it more after walking East Pier on a beautiful sunny day, lighthouse a great setting ☺
Not all of it was open to the public due to refurbishment unfortunately but going to the end of the pier offers a good view and some ice cream so that's worth it!
A fantastic place for a walk along the pier and coast. Enjoy the wonderful views of Dublin Bay. Afterwards dine in one of the fine restaurants along the coast.
So good
A very nice place for a walk on a weekend, may get a bit windy though. There is a fish shack and an ice cream joint on the pier.
Beautiful setting for a stroll morning, noon or night. Fantastic fish and chips from locals and Teddies ice cream is out of this world
Teddy's is a staple of the area and something that shouldn't be missed if you are travelling through. Been around for as long as I can remember and no sign of slowing down with more and more locations opening.
A great place to blow the cobwebs away, can become quite crowded and parking can be difficult when it's busy. An absolute must is Teddys opposite the car park, marvellous.
A lovely walk to the lighthouse on a bright day.
The pier is a lovely walk. Grab a Teddy's ice cream. Enjoy the view especially when night is falling.
Very close to the sea with nice view
One of the best places to walk. Sadly still many Poo people who don't clean up after their dog. 😳😳
Its always very busy always a queue but worth it as their ice cream cones are delicious a beautiful place to enjoy a walk in the afternoon, very enjoyable.
As far as piers go it’s a good pier I guess. Not sure how you rate piers though. It’s long, that’s good I guess. It’s clean - yep that’s plus sooooo.... yeah nice pier.
Busy when we arrived but the friendly staff dealt with the queue efficiently and we were served delicious ice cream in no time.
Beautiful place. Quiet and relaxing area for walking or a good beer in some of its pubs or terraces. A must-visit place
Good creamy ice cream. Only comes in vanilla but they will add syrup and crushed Oreos for you.
Teddy's ice cream is a Dublin institution. Love it even my daughter who isn't a big fan of ice cream gobbled it up
Probably the best place you'll get a lovely icecream, pretty popular & can get crowded especially around summer. Can't be that surprise cause of what ya can get😋🍦
Very wonderful place in evenings
Nice place to walk dog and children and you can have coffee or ice cream at lighthouse at end of pier
Took a stroll out here with my son on our visit and loved it. Peaceful and extremely beautiful! Highly recommend.
Teddy's sells lovely creamy ice cream and coffee's too nice to enjoy on a walk at DunLaoire
Good atmosphere, especially when the sun is out
I recommend walking both piers in all weathers. Great views, great history, fresh air and great exercise.
Decent prices. It is tradition for me to get a Teddy's ice cream everytime I go to Dun Laoghaire.
Excellent place to grab ice-cream and/or coffee and have a short walk in the evening.
Windy spot but finding hot coffee and ice-cream at the end of the pier is great.
Best ice cream on the pier. It is a little bit of a walk but well worth it
Beautiful location. Well worth a walk out to the pier, especially on a sunny day.
A lovely place to visit but unfortunately you have to pay for parking at the weekends or you will get clamped.
Fantastic place to take a stroll.
Great childhood memories here. On a hot day you just need to have a teddys icecream if you're in dun laughaire
Convenient. Hygiene not best.outside could do with wash n clean daily,as well as inside....esp. for ice cream parlour.
So handy to have a Teddy's at the end of the pier!! Well deserved after a nice walk.
Great if you want walking, jogging! Coffee shop, restaurants, children playground nearby. Shopping centre.
Very nice ice cream long que but well worth the wait
Great walk amazing view of the town especially in the evening time
Lovely place for a walk, especially with an ice cream from Teddy's!
On lovely sunny day like that 🌞👌 nothing better couple scubs refreshing icecream 😍 Thanks Teddy's.
Great day out
An austere, beautiful place, like walking into a Lowry painting with hundreds of people scurrying in the ambient light given off by the sea.
Beautiful harbour and seafront walk with plenty of kiosks for coffee and food.
Best Ice cream 🍦 in Dublin, people travel miles for one, expect queuing on Sunny day and weekends
Very delicious 😋
Fantastic spot for a walk or to spend a sunny couple of hours. Parking can be tricky
Always a nice walk followed by a must have Teddys ice cream 👍😊
Nive ice cream. usually we get the plain cone. And you can have a Stroll along the sea
Fabulous views, great atmosphere, public toilets need a lot of attention
Long fishing pier with lighting and band stand.
Ice cream and coffee available at both ends.
Gorgeous place to spend a free afternoon for a walk and chill.
Great walk along the pier enjoying a Teddy's icecream cone
Delicious ice cream - a must after walking the pier, whatever the weather!
good long walk into sea, refurbishment ongoing at the moment. hope it will be finished soon
Proper creamy ice-cream available in a lovely sunny location!
Always nice for a walk. Nice fish and chips too
Beautiful views across Dublin bay and great 99 icecreams
You have to go to Teddys for an ice cream! It's the law when you are out walking on a sunny day
Great ice cream. Super walk on east pier
Best icecream in dublin. Price is also good.
Peaceful morning...
No visit to Dún Laoghaire is complete without getting an ice cream in Teddy's.
Great ice cream !! The is a reason there is always a line up
Classic creamy 99, great walking the pier with a Teddy's on a sunny day.
My favorite ice-cream, with a walk down the pier 😁
The novelty of getting a Teddy's at the end is the only motivation to get me down the whole way down the pier
Lovely place to take a walk anytime of the year.💕
Great spot to chill out and relax when the weather is good,
Always a lovely place for a nice stroll and some fresh air
Love the pier. Always looks nice and provides a nice perspective of the bay
A great pier - does what it's supposed to do. AND you can walk on it!
All good, the toilets at the end are for emergency use only!
Beautiful area. Well kept. Lovely walks.
Great pier for walkers especially in fine weather.
Took 40 years to build this back in the 1800's, worth taking a walk along!
Great for fishing+keeping the young boys/men going down the wrong road, it sure helps the young men immensely
Long queues for a delicious ice cream. Worth the wait.

A landmark
Dun Laoghaire Pier
Very good place to go for a walk, run or go spend some time and clear your head. It has a very nice view of the entire Dun Laoghaire Avenue.
The ice cream is awesome.
Well over 100,000 different options to have your ice cream put together.
A 99ct ice cream that children who are now 50 years old remember.
So many memories and they are delicious.
Of course, the euro has now been there.
It's more expensive, but this ice cream is definitely worth trying at least once 😀
The images say it all, incredible.
Nice pier along the harbor with Teddy's ice cream at the end for a delicious ice cream. If you are lucky, you will see seals or dolphins at the harbor mouth.
A great ice cream truck that leaves almost nothing to be desired, as well as drinks and coffee with a good price-performance ratio.
The best ice cream in all of Ireland is here... and for several generations.
You can't go through Dun Laoghaire without having an ice cream at Teddy's
Access to anyone, very. Cycling permitted until 1 p.m.
