Courtown has a small beach but the scenery surrounding it is spectacular! It is extremely popular with tourists and the forest walks are a must see. Its definitely worth a visit.

An ok beach but not really suitable for small children to swim. A person would want to be competent in the water here. Some parking available.

Was a lovely beach a few years ago then council put big rocks on it said sand hills not safe then why are sand hill still there?

An ok beach. Tis wicked narrow there, if you have me. There's only about five feet of sand before you're at the rocks. The rocks down to the water were an obstacle for the oul wans, so we had to abandon our paddling plans. And theres a broken slippy yoke down to the sand, which is desperate if its been raining.

Rocky beach with a sprinkle of sand on it just like you get parmesan cheese on your pizza, nice ambience and birds chirping, running water can be heard during the walk in the forest. A lot of people are yapping about the ice cream but it's the same you get everywhere else so let them have it, instead save your monies for the chipper or hot pizza 🍕😎

Great forest walk, fantastic place to bring your dog out. Safe and sheltered forest walk with easy terrain. The beach is beautiful and sandy and can be accessed at a variety of points.

The beach runs north from Courtown and the woods that run adjacent the beach are excellent. A great place to walk or explore with family. You can walk in a large loop through the woods or walk back on the beach. Well worth a visit. Whilst in the area, why not enter the woods via the entrance located on Ballinatray Lower junction with the R742. These woods run adjacent to the River Owenavoragh. The paths are well maintained and there is a small carpark at the entrance. There are a few Geocach hides located in the woods.

The lack of beach is a sad sight compared to my childhood. Because of this room is lacking and things are cramped.

Pity, but beach gone... Water take all beach away... Not in a spring time... Maí latter in July.. surrounding area still nice, well looked after... Still good place for weekend with kids and family... Ice cream shops, restaurants.. Serves good food...

Loved it today 9th May cause it was very warm and cause it was a week day.there was only bout 3 other groups there.but on busy day it's a nightmare cause all sand has been replaced with large rocks.pity cause what is left is not enough to apply for a big crowd.and courttown always gets the crowd.

The beach is more of a bunch of rocks. It looks like maybe the original beach eroded away. Still some small spots where sand can be walked on. Quaint little town and don't forget the ice cream!
