Reviews of Knockeven House
Myself and my partner stayed with Pam for two nights, we would highly recommend Knockeven House! Pam was a wonderful host and very accommodating. She gave us recommendations on where to go for food and drinks which we very much appreciated. The house and grounds are beautiful. We will most definitely be back.
My girlfriend and I stayed for one night. Since the moment we got there, everything worked pretty well.
The host is so friendly and generous, served us a delicious and fresh breakfast. And the room itself was huge and lots of Molton Brown available 😂 I had such a good experience and definitely would recommend the place. Beautiful, tidy and lots of character (and only 20 min walk from Cobh town center)
Absolutely fabulous place so much so that we had our first full nights sleep in as long as you can imagine with a small baby ! Pam was a wonderful host and made us feel so at home . Spotless clean ,beautiful decor and we will be back for sure . Thanks a million Pam see you soon COBH it was our first and WONT BE OUR LAST VISIT X
A beautiful place to stay. We had a very relaxing time at Knockeven. Pam is a wonderful host and the breakfast is nothing short of amazing. The room was outstanding and spotlessly clean. We travelled with a young baby and nothing was too much to ask. Would highly recommend.
Really enjoyed our staying at Knockeven house. Beautiful position, really nice place and excellent service.
Delightful stay, and wonderful hospitality. Pamela is a great hostess. The linen is so white and fluffy and everything is so clean. Breakfast is delicious! Super!
What a great place with an amazing owners. Highly recommend to stay. Delicious breakfast and afternoon tea with hand made scones. Best spot in the area (just look on the pictures, it's true) and just a 20 min drive from Cork.
Beautiful house, lovely view from the bedroom. The host was fantastic, friendly and gave myself and my boyfriend very good suggestions for places to visit and to eat. I would recommend this place for couples or families, very good location as well. We are looking forward to go back.
Fabulous house and very close to Cobh. The owner Pam was an amazing host and so kind and full of chat and advice on the things to do. Cant recommend this quaint guesthouse. The beds were so comfortable and the large shower was so refreshing.
Pam, our host, was wonderful. Very accommodating making our dining reservations, helping us with our daily plans and even making a reservation for me with a local genealogist at the Cobh Heritage Center.
Very clean, brilliant breakfast, fantastic
Highly recommend this place in Cobh. Just 20 minutes driving to Cork.
Quality of service, location and interior have exceeded all expectations!
A beautiful house from 1840 with an incredible amount of charm and certainly just as much history. The owner Pam welcomes you personally with tea and self-made scones, and they are sensational. The rooms are amazing and worth the price, especially since it's hard to find cheaper B&Bs in Cobh. Pam's tips are really great, she booked us a table for dinner at the Watersedge Hotel and also recommended a visit to the Cobh Heritage Center. The food was great and we were also very impressed by the visit to the Queenstown Story. Pam is a great host and we would love to come back. Thanks Pam and take care of you and Knockeven House - you were a fantastic host - Thanks a million.
Great hostess - house with charm
Perfect BnB. We recommend.
Beautiful period house in ideal setting within walking distance to Cobh.
Our wonderful hostess Pam was very inviting, full if local information and actually drove my wife Sue and l around Cobh to show us interesting locations.
Absolutely 💯 x
Pam is a great host this is my second time staying here this month i loved it each time. Its a nice peaceful area and in the morning when u walk out all u can hear and see is the birds and the sunlight cutting through the trees. Breakfast was lovely both times. I would definitely recommend staying here
Pam is a great host and I would have no hesitation in staying with her again.
Nice and peaceful lovely house would recommend
A wonderful house with a wonderful hostess. First of all - we had a very nice time here. The house from 1840 with its nooks and crannies and the charismatic hostess contributed a lot to this. We had a wonderful room on the 1st floor - it was very spacious and had antique furniture. The bathroom was installed later and had its quirks, but that's how it is in an old house. |The town center of Cobh is about 20 minutes away on foot, but in the evening after a few Guinnesses you can also take a taxi back. The place is really very charming and also a good starting point for excursions. |The breakfast was sensationally good, the freshly baked scones and brown bread, as well as the fresh fruit every morning. We were looked after very nicely and were always asked during the day whether we wanted tea or coffee. We felt very comfortable here and would spend time with Pam again at any time.
Pam is a very caring host. The room was as big as a dance hall and nostalgically furnished. The bathroom is built into the room, so you can hear the bathroom neighbors.
Very beautiful location. Very warm and hospitable welcome from Pam; with tea and scones! The whole house is beautiful and exudes an atmosphere of sophistication without making you feel uncomfortable. The room we slept in was very tastefully decorated. Quite noisy rooms, but oh well... you have to accept that.
We spent two nights in Knockeven House. Fantastic location. Authentic, rustic and more such descriptions apply. Very beautiful old building, which is partly rented out for B&B. The building also has flaws. It's very noisy. The rooms are separated from each other, each with its own shower and toilet. The entire shower and toilet process from one room can be followed in the other room. | Pam is the owner of Knockeven House. She does her best to please you. She provides a fantastic breakfast with delicious homemade bread, eggs, sausages, black pudding, etc. Pure indulgence. She talks with great enthusiasm about the area and the things to do. Sometimes it seems like there is no end to the stories.|Another minus point of this location is the variable quality of the internet/wifi.|Walking along the water to Cobh is highly recommended.
It is absolutely worth paying a slightly higher than average price to spend a night in this B&B located in the hills a few kilometers from Cork.||The rooms are very large, well furnished and equipped with every comfort. The breakfast was excellent, the courtesy of the landlady was exquisite.
This elegant house is located less than 5 minutes from Cobh, elegant and spacious rooms, breakfast with homemade bread and vintage crockery, and a hostess who really bothers to help. We didn't have a reservation for our next stage, and as soon as she found out she was calling directly on the phone to help us, these things are appreciated. Ideal for seeing Cobh, getting closer to Kinsale and Cork.
Good reception and helpful. Outdated room, 1 window was closed with a screw and the other was difficult to close. Cold room, the radiator only works in the evening and then for a certain time. Paper thin wall so all kinds of noise could be heard in the room (nightly visits to the toilet from the neighbors.... etc.) | Breakfast was basic. The friendliness during the reception quickly changed during the stay to businesslike and rather unfriendliness... Everything seemed to be a burden and the hostess showed this.
The house is a perfect accommodation to get to know the surrounding area, ||You feel comfortable and are under the spell of the charm of the hostess and the house (formerly a large property)||Due to the location you can go on great day trips.||Always again with pleasure.||Thanks for the great time
