Youghal beach is a wonderful walk. Its ideal if you just want to spend a couple of hours walking and clearing your head. It may not be the best beach for.sunbathing but it would be hard to find an area like it in Cork where you can have some.much space and fresh air. When it's cold and windy its particularly deserted, which is when I find it most appealing. The new boardwalk is really good for kids and for anyone who might not like walking on the soft and uneven surface of the beach. It is 7km long and 2m wide, making it Ireland's longest boardwalk i believe. The walk leads on to Redbarn at which point you can see holiday homes and Capel Island from the shore line.

When we heard the weather was to get hot and the news that the boardwalk had been extended, we decided to head for Youghal. It was an absolute treat. The walk was beautiful. This boardwalk is a great credit to all concerned in Youghal. Later we drove back to the town for a walk around. Some lovely places to have a meal or a snack and then a stroll along the back streets. The weather of course made the experience but Youghal is a great place for food, a good walk or just a stroll.

I have been to the Quality hotel on Youghal beach several times, with my family and with sporting groups. We live in Trim, County Meath. To visit the seaside with the wonderful light from the sea is a special treat. Youghal strand is one of the finest beaches in the world, and is largely an undiscovered gem. There are kilometres of walks along the seashore, and the shallow water makes for safe swimming. Now we hear of 2 wonderful additions to Youghal strand. The boardwalk along the entire strand is completed, and a 20 km Greenway will open in 2023. I hope to revisit with family, golf groups, and GAA groups many more times.

At last. At last. Cork has a beach that is navigable by someone who uses a wheel chair. The boardwalk is an excellent facility that makes it possible to get the experience of this beautiful beach even if your mobility is not easy.

Clan, nice, long and sandy beach, sometimes you can find stones, but very occasionally. Ideal for a summer trip to the ocean for all day or for a winter walk with the family on wooden pier walk. There is a public toilet. Several quite large car parks, but there is nowhere to park in summer anyway.

The beach is lovely with a boardwalk wherein you can stroll with kids on a cycle, stroller or simply by taking a walk. The area is accessible to car and ni problem with car parking. However, toilets are a bit far from the beach. The sand of the beach is a mixed of fine and coarse, with stones and pebbles. It is great that even when we went here during weekends, the place is not the crowded.

The front strand at high tide is the best option for a quick swim though at low tide the water is very safe and shallow for children. The exposed bog on low tide can be slippy and watch out for the old beach fencing posts on high tide. Otherwise a great beach for swimming and a great long walk along the shore with wheelchair access (via the new boardwalk) all the way from Youghal town to the Quality hotel.

The boardwalk is lovely. Really nice to walk along and not get sandy shoes. Beach itself has lots of stones but my son loved playing with them. All round a nice beach and will return.

Very nice beach, the boardwalk is a great walk, I love it. The beach is very rocky in parts, which for a person like me, who collects rocks, is a great bonus. Can I just say that this beach is very long, if you want to walk the whole thing, you better commit an hour or three, it's VERY long

Lovely beach, plenty of parking, a coffee & cake spot along the way (or at there is on Sundays...I don't know about other days of the week). There are also public toilets. Only downside from my point of view is that it's very popular, particularly on weekends, so it's not as dog-friendly as I would like. But I'm sure that's a bonus for lots of others.

Fab beach love the walks there and cant wait for the new boardwalk to be finished. I deducted 1 star as there were a lack of bins so much was the need for extra bins along the front /boardwalk that there were only two we could find and i could not fit a cardboard coffee cup into either. they were overflowing onto the ground. People were trying to dispose of their rubbish properly. Please Youghal council, put more litter bins in place and keep Youghal beautiful. What an amenity :)

Definitely a five star place when the sun is shining. An open beach with sand for many miles with a broad walk. Suitable for swimming within blue flag areas, watersports, fishing and just relaxing. This is a very large beach excellent for long walks in the winter spring or summer. There are no facilities nearby such as toilets or cafes or shops., there is a nice short Boardwalk which can be used by families with buggies or by wheelchair users

Amazing beach 5 or 6 miles of sandy beach to walk and experience the Irish weather at its best or worst. About 1 or 2 miles from a bustling town of Youghal popular with tourists from all over Europe plenty nice bars and restaurants to choose from. Plenty night music in Youghal in the evenings and weekends. Great place for groups tourists young and old or on your own. At the moment the weather isn't great so the beach was very quite and the Sea cold and rough at moment but it Ireland but we dont get too much Hot or wet or cold or windy. Great coastal town.

Clean sand, even during a busy warm weekend. There's a small shop with snacks and hot food. Bathrooms open during busy hours, 9am-6pm or so. Water temperature was comfortable in July-August. Highly recommend.

I walk down the Beach Most Mornings,It a Beautiful Beach with a Beautiful Board Walk,The Beach itself is Clean,Except for the Dog Mess but that's not the Town's Fault It's the Dog Owners Who won't pick it up after Their Dogs,There's Plenty of Bins There.Other than that it's Beautiful,The View is Amazing from the Board Walk Just looking out over the Sea and There's Plenty of Seating on the Board Walk as well.
