L. C.The Girley Bog makes for a nice doable family walk through some lush birch thicket and around/across (on board walk) the bog. Especially nice this time of year when the heather is blooming. Sign posting can, as is often the case here in Ireland, be a bit confusing or lacking. But you will not get too lost or into any danger.
J. P.This car park is accessible by two single track roads. One is the roughest gravel track, and the other is the narrowest country lane with no chance of passing a car coming in the opposite direction. The car park was not full when we visited! The bog itself is a really interesting place to walk in, and well worth visiting. Getting to this car park however is a bit of an adventure.

B. D.Please note that this car-park will be closed from Monday Dec 16th 2019 to Friday 31st January 2020 to facilitate harvesting works at this site. The other car-park at the Kells side remains open as do all of the walking trails on the site. Regards, Coillte Recreation Team.
