D. &. M. F.We cannot praise Jack enough, he was professional, hands on, efficient manager who was warm and friendly to both customers and staff. It was evident to see that he had a great relationship with other staff member s with mutual respect shown! He is definitely an asset to your team. 😊 We cannot forget the lovely lady Mitaner who has recently started her career with the Castle Hotel team, she did a fantastic job! A. M.Room was big and comfortable, the bathroom looked old, air conditioner cannot be adjusted.
Restaurant need to be booked and be guess in the hotel does not give you any priority, food was nothing out of this world, it was more like pub menu. Breakfast on the other hand was delicious and the staff really friendly , approachable and professional.

Thoroughly enjoyed my 2 night stay. I got a supervalu getaway deal, that swayed me to stay here. So it was excellent value for my money, included breakfasts which were the highest standard. Was delighted to see they sourced all the breakfast ingredients locally too.
On check out I mentioned I had an exam that afternoon, and the staff insisted I stay longer and would find me a quiet spot to study. Really lovely people, I would highly recommend staying here. I will be back again for sure.
S.The hotel's greatest attraction is its gastropub that serves delicious food at very reasonable prices. Ideally located on the main Cork to Tralee road. The hotel is family-run and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel also boasts a swimming pool and leisure centre, as well as free car parking at the rear.It is very clean. The bedrooms are very comfortable. However the bathrooms are rather old world and would benefit from a revamp. The extractor fan in the bathroom is particularly noisy. Probably the best hotel in the area, but it is more of a three star grade than its official four star rating. Recommended.
O. L.Lovely hotel in the centre of town with great amenities, fabulous pool, didn't try out the gym but great to have it. The staff are so friendly and accommodating and there is a lovely look and feel to the place.

G. O.Many people flock to this family-run hotel for the quality of its food, which is very tasty and very reasonably priced. The staff are excellent. The hotel is very clean, but the bedrooms are rather old and would benefit from refurbishment, particularly new carpets. Residents benefit from access to the leisure centre and swimming pool, but it is hard to justify the four-star rating. Nevertheless it is probably one of the best hotels in the Macroom area. Slán le Máigh.
J. F.Stayed overnight with a group of cyclists (Mad Dogs) while completing a charity cycle Mizen to Malin. The hospitality was first class from arrival to departure. Fantastic welcome, comfortable rooms, specially prepared dinner menu. Fabulous breakfast, and also provided a fantastic lunch for cyclists the following afternoon. They really know how to look after cyclists. Finally I have to complement the staff who were professional, friendly and looked after us so well. Definately recommend this hotel to cyclists and the general public. I will be back.

A. D.We were heading on our usual pilgrimage to Macroom to visit my grandparents grave with my Mum & Dad. We were lucky to find seats outside and then the heavens opened. The table staff invited us to finish our dinner inside the front door. Tila was such a joy and was very attentive to us. She has a lovely manner. We have missed the Castle Hotel when it was closed for dining, and hopefully we can visit soon again. Would recommend to all, no matter if you want some small to eat, or your lunch, they cater for everyone.

c. w.We enjoyed a yummy wholesome dinner, al fresco in pleasant warm weather. Due to Covid restrictions we could not dine inside. I paid almost €50 for the 3 of us to eat a winner, winner chicken dinner, fish n chips, a BLT, a pint of Bulmers cider, a glass of milk and a water.
Later that evening we were lucky to secure a last minute room for 2, including breakfast for €120.
Our room was large, warm, and very comfortable with a single and double bed. There was also an iron, ironing board, a hair dryer, large wardrobe with a safe, drawers, bed side lockers with sockets to charge phones, lots of lamps, a table, chairs, full length and smaller mirrors and a temperature control with much need air conditioner !!
The en suite was spacious, clean and stocked with all the usual bathroom necessities. We enjoyed the powerful shower over the bath.
As there was no kettle, tea or coffee the night porter very kindly brought us cups of much needed brewed beans. Heaven !!
Before sleep we watched TV then lights out for a peaceful slumber.
In the morning we noticed our second floor room over looked what appeared to be a neighbouring garden. We were not over looked though.
There was an option to book breakfast in our room, but the order had to be submitted the evening before 8pm.
We decided to breakfast in the indoor dining room, for hotel guests only.
We ate our morning meal at 9:30am and had a cooked Irish breakfast, sausages, bacon, egg and tomato with brown and white toast. The creamy and lightly salty butter was the best I've tasted in quite a while. We also had fruit bowls, O.J, coffee, water, milk and pancakes.
We didn't like the rhubarb and yogurt that came on top of the pancakes, but we liked the syrup. It would have better to have had rhubarb and yogurt left off or in separate bowls.
We checked out for 11:30am and headed to our car which was parked in the hotel's private carpark. Near our car was the hotel's swimming pool and leisure centre.
If we wanted to we could have enjoyed a swim and could have bought the swimming gear on site. We decided not to and headed off to enjoy Cork and neighbouring Kerry.
I would definitely stay here again. It was lovely and you should too.

d. s.We love when we get a chance to return to the Castle Hotel. We were booked in last weekend and on Friday evening we were checked in with the warmest of welcomes. All the ladies on reception are a credit to the Castle Hotel the welcome we get everytime we check in is one of the reasons we come back. From management down to housekeeping everyone goes out of their way to speak to our kids (even in irish and they were shocked to get a reply in irish). To the Castle Hotel Thank you and we hope to see ye soon.

seated straight away. The food was delicious, highly recommend the Chicken Wings. We had Josie & Cathal for servers, they were very friendly & polite. Great experience.
As for Covid-19 guidelines, we felt safe, all staff were wearing masks, you paid at the table rather than people going to the bar, floor markings to recommend one way systems.

M. M.We celebrated our daughters christening in the castle hotel in macroom this weekend with our friends and family and we were extremely happy with the service we received. The meal was fantastic and the staff were absolutely amazing on the day. The room was also set up beautiful. I originally booked the day with Linda in reception who was an absolute pleasure to deal with and was helpful in every way. I would highly recommended this hotel because of the amazing food and fantastic service the hotel provides

Free car park to the rear however if hotel is busy you will struggle to get parked. Room was very spacious and clean. Mattress a little hard though. Staff very helpful and friendly. S. C.Attended this hotel as best man for a wedding, cannot fault a thing! Everybody in our group said the same thing, the staff are a real credit to the hotel. The meal was perfect, the rooms where spotless and the staff very obliging. Only thing that can be improved is you would drive straight past the entrance to the car park to the rear, it's the turn just before the hotel through a narrow residential road, a big sign would fix this though. I intend on returning here again in the future.

Our room was spotless, as was the leisure centre and the meals we ate were of a very high standard and great value for the price. The staff team are awesome and very friendly. They made my visit absolutely enjoyable. The breakfast menu was great, excellent room delivery and dinner was exquisite.
You can't beat the swimming relatively sizable swimming pool which is 3ft one the shallow end and 4ft 8in on the deep end. It is clean and welcoming. The readily available gym site was a good place to burn off the calories.
I will definitely repeat my visit in the nearest future. I highly recommend it to everyone. 5💫💫💫💫💫

T. T.This hotel really is a hub of activity located right in the middle of the town. With an award winning carvery during the day and a separate cafe for lighter snacks it caters for everybody,young and old. There are meeting rooms and a large function room with a stage and bar so it's a great place for parties and weddings. The swimming pool and leisure centre are located to the rear of the building. The swimming pool is spacious and the gym is modern with a variety of exercise machines to get yourself into shape with.

I had regular emails to touch base and see if there was anything she could do for us from her end. I guarantee you won't be disappointed if you stay or have a wedding at The Castle Hotel.
A. C.A good all round experience from lunch to dinner to overnight and breakfast. Evening meal menu very interesting with unusual items like quinoa cakes and polenta chips which was delicious. Afogato for dessert was a nice surprise for some of our party and I had an exceptionally nice malteser cheesecake. Breakfast selection also excellent and fab poached eggs. Room great and had a great nights sleep. Staff are great too. I didn't get a chance to see or use the leisure centre. Maybe next time.
C. F.Very cool hotel with amazing lap pool and aquatic center in the middle of little Macroom. The breakfast was to die for!!! Still dreaming of those little yogurt pots with strawberries! Also nice to have a full restaurant and authentic bar. Watched golf there with some of the local, old timers. Staff were also very charming and accommodating.
L. O.I drop in here every couple of months when I'm in macroom. Lunchtime there is a carvery. On the last visit a vegan was with me and it was very impressive the time that was given to give her a plate that she found very tasty. Usually I just have a toastie and cuppa which is very reasonably and a great way to pass some quality time with that special person.

L. L.Popped in here with my 12 yr old grandson for a light lunch. Toasted ham and cheese, toasted ham tea for two. This was after I asked a waitress for menus (that she had in her hand which she had just collected from a table near by) but was told "two minutes I'll be back" It was a different girl brought the menus. They brought my grandson cheese on white bread not even toasted I explained the error but I was made to feel twas my fault. Wont be rushing back any time soon.

S. E.Lovely stay to see friends in Macroom with our baby. All was well only slight disadvantage was the pool was used regularly for swimming lessons which made it difficult to enjoy with our little one.

Since I was driving I asked for a hot choccolate: the worst I ever had in my life, I couldn’t finish it. The friendly bar tender said he will make it better next time. My friends had a pint :)
The venue is amazing: great watercolours on the walls and lots of sculputes everywhere. I loved the confortable chairs.
It is worth a visit to break your journey and relax if you pass by Macroom.
