Lovely staff, gorgeous decorations and cosy atmosphere. I got the garlic bread starter and lasagna and both portions were very generous and couldn't finish them! I've been before and was not a big fan of the pizza as it is a little oily but nice overall

Expensive. I wouldn't mind paying the prices if the food was absolutely amazing but my sons pizza wasn't cooked fully. Doughy. My Calzone was the same, rushed and doughy. That was 16.50 with no sides. My partner got penne all vodka, nice but not amazing, no vegetables in it..... 16.50 aswell. Sides were a fiver each. We got onion rings. 5 for a fiver,undercooked and chips which nearly broke our teeth. They were overcooked funnily enough. My other son had spaghetti and meatballs. We all should have got that. Huge portion for a kids portion. Would have done me and it wa actually nice. We won't go again, too dear and not as nice as it used to be.

Negative: - The main dish was quite plain, with no seasoning at all. It didn't taste like Italian cuisine. The tip was left for the quality of the waitress' service. The rest of the dishes, the starter and the dessert tasted very good and for this reason 4 stars. I am sure pizza is better than mains. More attention to rest of meals and the place will grow and have a better reputation. - Interior Design is nothing special. It could be updated. More attention to detail. - Sparkling water could be served in glass bottles, not in plastic. Let's all think about the negative impact of plastic on our environment. - Time to install outdoor heating. Positive: + The starter and dessert were delicious, good quality and definitely better than the main. Good seasoning with an Italian influence. + Taste and look fresh, and it was well served, in a good amount and portion. + Very good price range. + Great selection of meals. That's why definitely give it another try next time. + Super welcome, friendly, good and polite manners and quick just on right timing service. + Outdoor area is pleasing and comfy. + Great location in the centre of the Downtown. + Strong and rich coffee. + All meals are served on ceramic plates and in cups. Zero plastic. + Well done to Il Forno's to think about our environment in this case. Overall I do recommend IL Forno. First time eating at this restaurant. It didn't let me down. The staff are very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Food was delicious. Great value for money. Defo going back when I'm back in the Drogheda.

Fabulous place to eat. Arrived late in the evening but no problem getting served by Dinija, the kindest most helpful waitress that I have met in a very long time. She even helped me choose a meal to suit my dietary needs. Definitely worth a visit! We'll be back!!

Meal was taste and well presented as are the premises but had to buy two coffees as I waited over 30 minutes for breakfast to arrive and both toast and most of meal were cold and it may have been due to me asking for a poached egg which I got 3 of and two were still raw. Having to ask for a coffee refill and paying extra was why only 4star.. Pity as meal was very tasty otherwise. would say normally great place to eat out.

Grey goose and Il forno r old faves with my wide group of friends and family - always been great food, lovely staff, fab atmosphere but sitting there tonite with the door wide open and blue from the freezing cold draft blowing in on us with coats and scarfs on as our ice cold hands tried to lift our food due to this Covid thing really enormously detracted from our previously great dining experiences there and made us question whether we could consider another nite there risking pneumonia (and its only sept we would be thinking of christmas nites etc) or try new venues. Hopefully not, and this all will stop and be normal soon:(

Easy 5 out of 5 stars. Had a meal here this week with my partner and really couldn't fault the place. The decor and atmosphere is great. Very cosy, casual and warm. The menu had a wide selection. We had a calamari starter which was cooked perfectly and I had pizza and my partner had pasta. Both were delicious and the price was very reasonable too. There is a limitless drinks menu due to the bar next door. Finally the staff were great. 3 Very pleasant, friendly and welcoming ladies who made sure to check regularly if everything was ok or if we needed anything. Definitely recommend this place and look forward to going again

Love this place. Am in it literally every week for lunch. All dishes are really nice especially the arrabiata with chicken and cesar salad. Staff are great and extremely polite and helpful. Only one gripe (which I wont take a star off for) is that it can be a little slow... especially when i only have an hour for my break!

Pizzas were really good, if you want the jumbo pizza you have to preorder the day before however. The chips were a little too well done and the portion was skimpy. The onions rings were really lovely. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The pricing was very reasonable. All in all a good mesl was enjoyed by us all.

We went for a bite to eat over Christmas to Il Forno. The restaurant is nicely laid out and spacious. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I ordered the carbonara. The sauce was on the runny side and the pasta was a little too soft. My dish was €14 which seemed very steep.

Three of us dined in Il Forno tonight and it was fab. We were under a bit of time pressure and the staff were super. The waiting staff could not have been better, they were friendly,attentive and utterly professional,to the extent that we forgot our time constraint and sat back and had a really lovely meal. We visited Sunday 9th Feb. Was very nice. We had breakfast. 1 full irish & 2 eggs benedict . All were lovely. The staff were so nice. All young girls and were so friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a visit.

All the plates went back empty! Myself and my fiancée decided we'd give IL Forno a try Saturday evening after passing it while in town during the week. I made a reservation and I'm glad I did cause the place got very busy and they stuck to their reserved tables which was nice to see, there weren't many casual drop ins having success getting seated, so make a reservation and don't miss out! The decor of the restaurant is very nice. It's got a classic new york meets Italian vibe going and the neon red sign gives the whole front half of the restaurant a lovely ambiance. The place looks like a movie set and I love it. The staff are very attentive without being overbearing, we felt they were only ever a glance away without them being on top of us which we appreciated. The menu had a very good selection of Italian dishes from pixxastto pastas. I went for the meatballs and she had the prawns to start. The meat on both was wonderfully tender and the sauces we haven't has as nice since we were in lake garda. For mains I had the spagetti csrbonara and she had the spianci with added chicken pizza both were delicious. She couldn't finish the last slice and they offered to wrap it for her which I thought was a very nice touch. For desert we shared a raspberry cream cake and I'm glad we did cause it was a very generous portion. But it was beautifully light I'd highly recommend it! She had a flat white coffee to finish I was just too full. All of the above along with three diet cokes came to a total of €62.00 which for the centre of drogheda on a Saturday night I can't see much wrong with. IL Forno has instantly become our new favourite place in drogheda. We'll definitely be back for another dinner (or two) and we're looking forward to trying out its breakfast / lunch menus. It's given us a reason to go back into the town of drogheda. The only slight negative I could think of is that there's only one male toilet and in an establishment this big they could really use two or three but that's the only slight blemish in an otherwise perfect setup.

Lets talk sauce! Upon entering the restaurant I was immediately strook my a pungent and delicious aroma. On further inspection it turned out to be a sticky brown sauce. I slathered my body in the sauce until I was brown. Warm and cosy atmosphere
