L. I.Just had dinner at the Menlo Park. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming with the beautiful Christmas tree in the lobby, mirrored by the equally beautiful tree in the restaurant. We were given a lovely welcome into the restaurant which has been recently renovated and is so well laid out with comfortable booths and equally comfortable stand alone tables. The food was excellent! Very reasonably priced and beautifully presented by knowledgeable and friendly waiters. A well deserved five stars. You are doing a great job and we are looking forward to going back again very soon.

N. M.I really don't know where to start with this review. Menlo Park, you guys have a service that is extraordinary.
My partner & I booked this hotel for a night away with our 3 year old son before the Christmas rush. We got to check in at about 4:30pm after spending a lovely day at the Galway markets. The check in service was quick and efficient the girl that checked us in was engaging with us and our son and very pleasant.
When we got to our room we could have never dreamed of what we would be met with behind the door. We had the most beautiful room with a view of the beautiful gardens which were laid with Christmas decor. Our room had a Christmas tree 🎄 , homemade muffins, chocolates, robes & slippers, hot chocolate, candy canes, bottled water, santa hats, Christmas crackers & a lovely welcome card. The cherry for us was the so very thoughtful goodie bag for our son - crayons, stickers and a colouring book, this made the stay so unique for him and he was elated.
We had not booked a table in the bar for our stay but the gentleman in the bar was very accommodating and got us a table within a couple of mins. My partner had the Buttermilk chicken burger and said it was one of the best burgers he had in a long time, I had the beef burger and it was definitely homemade, it was absolutely delicious, our son had pizza & Chips and this had to have been stone baked, it tasted exactly like a local Italian restaurant to us at home. The atmosphere in the bar was so beautiful with a massive Christmas tree set in the middle.
We ordered room service for breakfast and WOW what a spread it was, the pastries were freshly baked, a fresh Irish fry, delicious juice and a great selection of any thing you would like for breakfast.
I really cannot say enough, my partner and I are well travelled and I would go as far as to say this is the nicest, most pleasant & unique hotel experience we have ever had. Thank you to the manager Elaine also for going above and beyond for us. Menlo Park Hotel, you have got a life time customer in us, your staff & hotel are nothing short of amazing. Thank you ❤

V. P.I went here with my daughter and granddaughter for lunch. We sat outside as my granddaughter is still awaiting vaccination. My daughter had the roast of the day...and she said it was really nice. My granddaughter had sweet potato fries. I opted for the vegetarian meal of the day that was Spinach and Ricotta Lasagne...delicious. The price was reasonable...with the addition of 2 cokes and 3 coffees...it was less than 50 euros. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place.

From the minute we walked in we were greeted by nice gentleman to checked covid stuff & gave us a table in a quiter part of the restaurant as we have 3 small kids.The staff were very friendly & nothing was a problem. Even the loud nature of the 3 kids. We had all main course & desserts. 3 × pizza & chips for kids. Turkey & ham & pizza for us. Everything was delicious.
The only issue was that the chips our kids had with their meal had a taste of fish of them. Might have been issue with fryers. Very friendly place to go for food even with kids over excited. Will definitely be back again

H.My husband and I have stayed in this hotel a lot in the past few years, we are very impressed with the welcoming friendly staff, the hotel is very clean and comfortable, the rooms are spacious, clean and have everything you need for a relaxing getaway. They have a lot of covid 19 safety measures in place which made this trip so relaxed and safe. We highly recommend Menlo Park Hotel and will 100%be back in the future.

After a false start (some miscommunication with booking agency resulted in hotel not expecting our arrival until16 August ) the team moved into top gear and swiftly retrieved the situation, offering us complimentary refreshments whilst our room was prepared.
Accommodation, food and drink was top notch, and service throughout our stay was impeccable, and whilst hospitality extended by every member of staff was a true delight. I trust no -one will be offended if I single out the diligence of Reinis and Maeve ( Guest Relations Manager) who went " above and beyond" to ensure our every whim was indulged.

N. M.We stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Firstly I need to mention the staff, from the moment we checked in, throughout all of our meals, and even brief interactions with the housekeepers, every single employee was friendly, attentive, helpful andade us feel very comfortable. We had our room upgraded and the king room was very comfortable.amd spacious, very clean and had good quality toiletries and complimentary chocolates. We had the Pizza and Chill deal so we had fluffy robes and slippers and we had pizza, chips, and brownies delivered to the room one evening which was excellent value and a great idea.
We ate in the restaurant several times and the food was very nice, they have a great cocktail menu as well (Highly recommend the Cherry Bramble)
The only slight downfall was that the phone did not work in the room so we could not ring down for room service and we had to go to reception every time we needed anything.
The location isn't ideal if you don't drive, it is around a 30 minute walk to town, but we took taxis and that worked for us.
Overall I would still give the hotel 5 stars as the staff were so great that I could not fault anything else enough to remove one!
W. F.Not our first visit and will definitely be back! As always, the staff are always exceptionally warm and friendly, honestly can't do enough for you. A difficult time for Hotels and Restaurants etc... at the moment, but this never showed with positive and bubbly attitudes everywhere.
Special thanks to David Keane (DGM I think) who makes a concious effort to check on all guests. Chris, our waiter in the Restaurant, who made us feel so welcome and to Leanne, who provided fantastic Mojito's which were not on the cocktail menu. Reinus (I hope I have the name right) for being an excellent example of how Front of House should be represented in the Hospitality Industry.
We hope to get back down to stay again before the end of this summer!

I used the toilets which were very clean with a nice aroma. I then passed through the bar where food was being served. There was a great atmosphere. T. C.I stayed in the Menlo recently on an essential travel trip. I was very impressed with the levels of cleanliness and precautions in place. This has always been a great place to stay, rooms and beds are very comfortable. Breakfast menu is full of choice and has lots of gluten free options, a real treat. Would highly recommend it.

D. K.Stayed here for a weekend with my girlfriend and another couple. The hotel is lovely and the rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly and the bar had a good atmosphere and a nice selection of gins.
We had a couple of issues but they were handled very well by the hotel. We ordered breakfast to the rooms on the second day but they never arrived. We rang reception and they sorted it out quickly for us and advised that they would wave the service charge. However when we checked out, the receptionist was so apologetic and they actually knocked €20 off both rooms for the inconvenience!
We were very pleasently surprised by this. I actually told the receptionist that it wasn't necessary as we were generally very happy with everything but they insisted.
Over all it was a great hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
C. S.Excellent service and social distancing measures, but the food wasn't great. The tomato sauce on the pizzas wasn't very nice. The kids, who normally devour pizzas weren't fans of it at all, and left most of their meals behind them. I had a burger, which I can only describe as "Meh".

C. v. H.I always enjoy staying here, mainly because it is very clean, the rooms are excellent, the staff always take my special requests into consideration and give me what I requested. Staff is so wonderful and friendly, especially Rafael at reception and the breakfast staff. The dinner was a disappointment last night and I even asked if the establishment had recruited new chef, as my favorite dish was not well prepared, lamb (very very rare) and the waiting staff was not very attentive or considerate in the bar. Pity to have moved the evening dinner from the restaurant to the bar, it does not have the same appeal or ambience.

C. M.The hotel is in a great location. 10 minutes out of the city centre with a near by shopping centre and various food outlets and entertainments. Staff are lovely and very helpful - particularly the cleaners! The room itself was decent - one chair had a burn mark, the door handles were loose and the door into the room itself was a little faulty. Other than that, the hotel was a great bargain. I'd recommend again!

S. B.We stayed in the apartments and they were very spacious and comfortable. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. However, the drain to my shower was so slow I couldn't use it unless I wanted to flood the bathroom. We told the front desk but they did not seem to be in a big rush to fix it. I was able to use my roommate's shower with no issues. I would definitely recommend especially if you're an American that is used to having lots of space. The restaurants were amazing

S. F.This Galway hotel, is top class. I’ve used it for both corporate and personal functions for many years. Yes, the food is always very good. The rooms are very comfortable. The location is very good. But, what really sets this hotel apart, is the superb staff. The management team of David, Elaine, Laura Ann, Michelle, Ronan, etc.... run a superb hotel. All the hotel staff are wonderful, and go to great lengths to ensure you have a great experience. That’s what brings me back, again and again.
s. d.Stayed 3 nights and had a great stay over. The Bar Food was of very high quality and thr 9 of us ate there every night. A special mention to our server Luke who looked after us so well and is an exceptionally helpful and nice guy who made our stay more enjoyable.
F. N.First of all thank you too the staff, they were super friendly and helped us a lot when my mother got sick and had to stay in the room for two days. The hotel itself is clean and the rooms are spacious. Unfortunately it is not that soundproof so you can here people in the hallway and sometimes you hear sounds from the nearby rooms. The breakfast is standard but good and the hotel is walking distance (20 minutes) to the town center.

My only real complaint were the room cleaners. We were told at the reception that we could order food to the room from the Chinese takeaway across the road, so we did. When we were finished the put all the waste in a bag and left it in the bath expecting the room cleaners to dispose of it when they replaced the towels, which were also in the bath. The towels were replaced but the bag wasn't which left a smell in the bathroom. Fairly poor room service in my opinion.
M. L.I have been frequenting the Menlo Park Hotel for a number of years now, and I have to say I have a soft spot for their carvery. However beyond that I have been known to also try the bar menu and selection of alcoholic beverages which are on offer, and I haven't been disappointed. The service always comes with a smile and a joke which makes it stand out from some of the cold and industrial hotels which are nearby.
J. D.Went for lunch. Clean and comfortable but became crowded. Worst chowder I ever had, flavourless, over creamy, no smoked fish and little else with empty mussel and clam shells which had to be somehow removed.

N. C.Lovely hotel with great food . Plenty of parking and within walking distance of two large shopping centres. The 407 bus route passes right by the hotel so you don't have to bring the car. It's just ten minutes from the centre of town. Music is played on the weekend and is a mixture of Irish tradition and jazz. Would recommend it for those who like a small bit of pandering but might not suit those on a tight budget as it can be a little pricey. All in all a very pleasant experience.

The breakfast was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful. When we next have to stay in Galway overnight we will definitely stay here again. The menu was very clear on allergens and all together very allergen friendly. I would defiently suggest this place too people with gluten allergys. We had a diner in the hotel and the food was very good (yummy chowder soup). City center is 5 min driving. Staff was very friendly and nice. Good value for money.

R. J.Clean, modern. Nice little bar area with a decent selection of on tap beer. Food was good off of the bar menu. Only about a mile from the middle of Galway. We used this hotel as our stay before driving to the cliffs of Moher.

Room was beautifully decorated and to a very high standard. Value for money was a big one for me. Room and a 3 course dinner for 2 was only 159 euro. I will be revisiting for sure. I. W.The Menlo Park Hotel is located just minutes from Galway city. The bus 407 stops just outside the car park and can bring you straight into Galway. Buses run 30 minutes. The bar is a favourite with the locals. The carvery they serve is delicious and the portions are generous. It certainly is good value for money. I have never had a bad meal there in all the years I have been going there. The staff are very attentive and service is quick.
The hotel is currently undergoing renovations and the new decor is modern, fresh and airy.

J. C.As I live in Galway I have not stayed overnight at Menlo Park Hotel. However, I have for many years visited for meetings and for food. Many of my acquaintances agree that the hotel has one of the best carvery lunches in Galway with good food at good value for money. The hotel has just completed a major refurbishment project and this has greatly improved the reception and public areas. The staff at the hotel have always been helpful and friendly and I expect to be availing of it's facilities for the foreseeable future.

Worth a visit.

B. L.Very nice premises and looking fantastic since the refurbishment. Everytime I visit staff are very nice and always have a smile. Service is quick and table service is provided. There is a great choice for coeliacs, most dishes are gluten free in the carvery. There are wide screen TVs for sports etc and cosy seating and plenty of too.
Also ample parking spaces are provide for customers. Would definitely recommend the Menlo park hotel.
m. p.Was a lovely hotel. Room was very good. However. Went back early on a Saturday night as it was a weekend away without the kids and we had no tv channels and was told by reception that it was due to rain and the Wi-Fi through out the hotel was very poor. Asked the bar staff about a sports channel to watch a rugby match and was told that it wouldnt be shown. And to have 3 tv's in the bar showing the same channel which no one was watching was a bit disappointing. Won't be going back.

However, the menu and some food have not kept up with the update. Menu look like it was printed at home and then laminated. Burger was burnt and hard at the bottom. Fish goujon had absolutely no taste. And the waitresses didn't seem to notice me waiting for a menu at the table.
