Starters were great, chicken wings were big sized portions. Ribs were fantastic and much coveted at the table. The lamb sliders, my starter, was tasty and I imagine would be great with kids too. We also tried the truffle fries, extremely taste and interesting flavours. I would have preferred thick cut, instead of the thin chips. But still I cannot fault in anyway.
The wife ordered potbelly with scallops, and you can measure a chef by how they cook scallops and how they pair dishes. And let me say that the food chef knows how to cook. They also have a pizza chef for the pizzas, a great place for kids and families. We didn't have a pizza, but tempted as they looked great and were freshly prepared. I had the lamb and mash potatoes, which was so tender that you could cut with a butter knife.
Great food, service and a real treat. Afterwards the party of 4 was so stuffed and satisfied it was a little bit uncomfortable for 30 min afterwards. Becareful how much you order, as it might bite you in the end.
It was my birthday so they gave me a free dessert, sticking a candle and bellowing happy Birthday. So extra points there. It's a shame they only had one dessert type on menu, but we booked late so let that be a warning to you.
On the bad side, cutlery is an issue having to constantly ask for extra knifes and forks as they never seem to have enough on table, stored with sauces, it's not a big issue, just make sure you keep on top of it, or you'll be left staring at your food. And you'll be tempted to use your fingers ... no judgements here.

A. L.I spent 9 years of my life as a wood fired pizza chef so I am VERY hard to please. We ordered a delivery tonight because the restaurant is sadly running take out only as a covid safety measure.
My husband had the pollo pesto and I had the marg.... the pizza was truly excellent! The toppings were delish, the bake was perfect and the crust was a thing of beauty - I'm from the North Coast but will 100% be back to Westport when the restaurant offers sit in again, for pizza this good - I will travel! It helps that Westport is awesome too ☺️

G. H.Tonight while in Ireland my brother and I went past a Woodfire Pizza Restaurant. We tried their pizza and it was very good. It reminded me of the pizza I got in Sicily years ago. This pizza was cooked in brick ovens and they never burnt the crust, much the same as this place. More important than the pizza was the outstanding customer service provided by Lucy the server. She was very personable and she made our experience that more special. My brother and I listened to music from the 60’s and reminisced about our earlier days. More restaurants need to pay more attention to their customers like Lucy did. The manager should be proud to have such an outstanding employee. Thanks for making our visit memorable.

J. R.Great food. We both had pizza. Fresh ingredients were evident. Staff were friendly and approachable. It is more than a pizzaria, as the menu has fresh fish and meat dishes cooked to order also. It's just hard to get over the prices being charged. Overall: enjoyable

H.Firstly the owner extremley nice lady, she gives of a very calm and relaxed vibe and nice to her staff to which is very nice to see and support, the pizza was absolutaly hands down the best pizza ive ever had!!!!!!!!! The sauce for the base was just so tasty and different then ive ever tasted before i didnt even need my garlic dip and that dip was yummy to, and the base so crispy and perfectly cooked. I just cant wait to get it again!!! Everyone who loves pizza has to try this plce!!!!! :)
The chef who worked in lumber jacks tuam is best at making the pizza if he not there u know the differemce pizza not as good!

While traveling through Ireland this summer we stopped into Westport. We were looking for a good meal at a fair price, in a casual environment. Well, Woodfire fit the bill. We do not like to go to a restaurant twice while we travel, but we made and exception (and a drive on the second night) for this place. The wings were delicious, flavor and crisp - salad was fresh and contemporary, and the pizza crispy and fresh. The lamb burger, forget about it - delicious. Worth the visit.

D. M.The lamb burger was very disapointing especially at the premium price, I couldnt finish it and I always finish my food, Used to be nicer and cheaper. The salad would have been lovely if it had a proper dressing on it. Chips nothing special. Garlic bread and pizza very nice but pricey. Overall overpriced for the area and I was shocked to see the jump in prices compared to my last visit even taking the VAT increase into account. No card payment is very annoying..like its been years at this stage. Food slow to come out but very friendly service. Beautifully decorated and a lovely atmosphere but overall dissapointing.

Our (shared) starter were crab claws - very well presented but lacked flavored despite the help of buttery garlic dressing and black pudding. There were only 5 claws, which seemed a bit skimpy for €14. The accompanying salad was okay - crisp leaves and lots of texture with the addition of nuts, radishes and pomegranate but would have benefited from a little dressing.
I had the lamb burger, served with fries and small side salad. I can’t really complain about it because it is what it is - just not for me on account of the lack of texture - I don’t think it’s a good idea to serve moist minced lamb with melted cheese on foam-soft brioche .... this burger is badly in need of something fibrous. Flavour wise it was fine - as one would expect - lamb and a hint of mint.
Service started out well but petered out after the main courses were delivered. We were seated right at the back at the seat called “the bar” - it was very hot back there and adjacent to loos and kitchens and cut off from the rest of the restaurant - so a table best avoided. We had to walk out to the front of the restaurant a couple of times to find a waiter when we wanted salt and sparking water. When booking - ask for a table at the front.
After waiting quite a while for the return of the waiter after our main courses, we found out the restaurant doesn’t do dessert or coffees. It would have been good to have known that before we started. We did just make it down to Belle Gelato for an ice cream before it closed at 10pm.
Our bill was €100 for four people including tip - for 1 starter of crab claws, 3 pizzas, 1 lamb burger, 1 glass of Pinot Grigio, 1 Mescan Blonde and a bottle of San Pellegrino. Pizzas start at €11 which is good value. Our bill was greatly increased by the €21 lamb burger and the €14 crab claws. If you’ve read this far, I’d recommend you book a table at the front and stick to what they seem to do best - great pizza and that delicious Westport Mescan beer.

However when I told the waiter that my veggie pizza had a piece of chicken in it, he said he'd let the chef know but the management didn't acknowledge it at all (they were probably never informed) and I was still charged the same as the non-veg option. Also don't go too late or once you've been served you'll be pretty much ignored and not even offered dessert - had to go to the till and ask to pay as they were too busy counting the night's revenue. I left straight after, completely unnoticed.

R.Sept.2017 Been riding all day on a motorbike, solo, tired and frickin hungry and now tired of 'pub food'. I spotted this little gem of a place and enjoyed every bite and every beer. I went there two nights in a row. Donna & Roger were super hospitable, very entertaining! ....the oven is COOL! ...the tables all have convenient little charging outlets for your phone while you eat. Sorry about knocking over that stuuuuupid basket of potpourri in your bathroom!!! Oops!!

Ein sehr gutes Restaurant, wo man in absolut gemütlicher Atmosphäre und super nettem Personal sehr gut essen kann. Das Garlic Bread ist einfach nur genial und erst einmal der Salat nach Art des Hauses. LECKER!!!!!
Der Stern Abzug kommt nur daher, weil nicht mit Kreditkarte bezahlt werden konnte - heute doch eher out. Lt. Hinweis des Personals aber wohl nur momentan.
Wer also in Westport ist, rein ins Woodfire.
