I got a knock on the door in March. The caller identified himself as someone from Irish Water. They did a few quick checks. They told me I was leaking 20,000 litres of water a day and it was coming out under my house. I was advised to get it looked at immediately as it could cause damage to the house. I made a few phone calls and the first person who called out and had a look around. I was told that as I had underfloor heating and a layer under the floor to protect from gas coming up it would be difficult to find the leak. They couldn’t give me a price for the job as they were going to have to dig up different parts of the house to find the leak. I was looking at a big bill. A friend recommended I give the Ateam a call. I spoke with Ciaran in the evening and explained what the problem was. He said he would get someone out to me the next day. The next day Stephen arrived. Before starting work he talked me through the process he was going to go through, what equipment he would use and what he might encounter. He was very thorough and completely put my mind at ease. The job was made even more challenging for them as there is a large building site across the road from me which prevented them from using their normal listening equipment. They pumped gas into my water system and went around the house with detection equipment to find the gas and the leak. Once the leak was located it was fixed within the hour. Stephen was even able to lift out the tiles without breaking them. Afterwards you would have never known they were there. Ciaran called out that evening to inspect the work and ensure I was happy with everything. I was so impressed with the work I mentioned to Ciaran I was thinking of changing my boiler. Ciaran took a quick look at it and guided me not to replace the boiler but to carry out a power flush on the radiators and pipes. The next day Ross was with me to do this work. Again he took me through the work that would be done and the equipment that would be used and how it will all work. I cannot describe in words the difference this made in heating the house. We had stopped going into the front part of the house it had been so cold. Without exaggeration the call I made to the Ateam saved me about €20K. I simply can not recommend this company enough.

I have used twice, once last year for leak detection and. repair, and again this year to install a new boiler. The 5-person team combines a range of skills under the direction of Ciarán Deally. Team members are in regular contact under Ciarán over WhatsApp, to share analysis, expertise and advice. Their diagnosis of the leak was methodical, simple and assured, without the need to use their hi-tech equipment. They did an excellent job, involving several small fixes and repairs performed with efficiency, confidence and without fuss. They also cleaned up nicely after themselves. The end result was neat and functional. Aidan, who took charge on the day, was very pleasant and professional. A-Team were likewise impressive last week in removing an old boiler and replacing it with a new one. Aidan, Aran and their dynamic boss Ciarán were all involved in rotation, and worked tirelessly and courteously over a long day to complete the job. The end result is perfect. Both my boiler my heating system work better than ever. I’m impressed and would be glad to use company again.

I had a small invisible leak which caused gas boiler's pressure dropping all the time. Ciaran was honest from the start and said the leak cannot be found and he recommended the sealant. I did go with another company initially who said they could pinpoint leaks and they ended drilling a big hole and not finding the leak. Ciaran came in and put the sealant in the system. now pressure is not dropping anymore after 3 weeks. appreciate Ciaran's honesty and professionalism.

I have used A Team Leak Detection twice. Ciaran and Ross flushed out the system and replaced the pressure value. I am in my home 20 years and have never had this done. Since having the system flushed and later balanced by Aidan and Aaron the radiators have never been so hot and the heat so well distributed around my home. Aidan and Aaron also replaced the pump. As a result of the faulty pump which was also 20 years old, I had no heating and Ciaran organised a call out immediately. Top Class Service. Super Efficient & Friendly Team Ciaran's team arrived at very short notice to address a mains water leak. Using state of the art non-destructive detection methods they identified the location of the leak under the utility room floor. They addressed the leak and left the house exactly as they found it. As an engineer, I was very impressed with their attention to detail, variety of skills and quality of their work. I have recommended A-Team Leak Detection to friends, family and colleagues. If you have any plumbing issues give these guys a call.

About 3 months after having a new boiler fitted by GasSafe and a power flush, myself and my wife awoke at 06:30 to the sound of the radiator system emptying itself. We suspected the leak downstairs as there was no water leaking between floors. GasSafe told me to get a builder to tear up the floor up and they could fix it when it was found which was not acceptable. We looked at DeWAR plumbing and while they appear to have a leak detection service, they have no specialised equipment and their quote to detect and fix the leak was astronomical at €1600 - we contracted them but it didn't work out. Coming to our senses, did some more research and put in a call to the A-Team. Ciarán answered and I gave him the background above. We had a conversation for 15 minutes during which time he educated me on possible causes including gun barrel (steel) radiator pipes vs copper, pressurised systems and how power flushes could impact old radiator circuits and more. Ciarán also understood the pressure and frustration I was under having had no heat in the house nor hot water for many days. At this time I had made no commitment to hire the A-Team and despite this I received some very useful information. Not long after, we made up our mind to hire them. Aidan called out around lunchtime the same day. He used quite sophisticated sonic detection equipment to first take baselines and then, after turning on the radiator fill system, to listen in all the appropriate areas to see if he could pinpoint where the leak was occurring. Separately, he also used a mix of nitrogen (95%) - hydrogen (5%) gas through the radiator he believed the leak was near and a hydrogen detector to see if he could narrow down the location. The sonic and gas detection being a belt and braces approach. It took 2.5 tiles in 2 different areas before we found the leak which turned out to be a pipe slipping out of a compression fitting. We conjectured that this could have occurred due to both a poor compression fit and the extra pressure from the new boiler going from gravity fed to 1 bar. There are two photos, depicting the fix and beforehand, the slipped pipe. There was some work reducing the diameter of the copper pipe to fit the Qual-Pex. Aidan went so far as redoing the second pipe to offset a similar slippage occurring since the floor was already opened up. I enjoy DIY etc so I asked to put the wooden base layer and tiles back down. While the two big tiles were broken, Aidan did his best to get them out whole which was almost impossible. One aspect I thoroughly enjoyed was the education I gained by watching Aidan and asking questions. He left me better equipped to understand and deal with similar situations in the future and all round just more knowledgeable. He helped me bring the kitchen table in from outside too! The lesson learned here for me is get the right people for the job. If there is a non-obvious leak, do not assume every plumber is equally capable of efficiently finding and fixing the it for a reasonable fee. While it took 2.5 tiles to get this sorted with specialised equipment, it took just over 8 hours to do all that was required to fix by a firm that specialises in this. I dread to think what would have happened had we gone elsewhere - we would probably have ended up either tearing up much of downstairs to find the leak or repiping all of downstairs and both at a much higher cost. I believe the cost represented good value given the time spent, the equipment used, how unobtrusive the fix was and the quality of the work. Both Ciarán and Aidan were very friendly to boot. Separately, the A-Team also do regular plumbing especially in the summer part of the year. Finally, it's not every day you get to make a call and ask for the A-Team. The name is well deserved and thanks again to Ciarán and Aidan for such great service. As the saying goes, "If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them (Google!), maybe you can hire: The A-Team."

We have just had the guys from A Team plumbing out to fix a leak we have been ignoring for some time. We had been having pressure problems in our gas system for some time and contacted the guys to sort our problem. Stephen arrived on time and spent time locating the problem. Using ultra sound equipment he successfully located the leak and made the necessary fix to get us up and running again. I rang this company to see about getting a leak in our domestic central heating system sorted out. The leak is not visible and most likely under a floor. We have had several radiators burst/leak due to internal corrosion and I am at wits end. I was contemplating re-plumbing the entire house but after I spoke with Kieran, who very generously gave me a lot of his time despite being extremely busy, I think we may have another much cheaper, less disruptive solution. Had a leak inside the house with a hot water pipe. No way to know where leak was as pipe ran somewhere under a wooden floor and two tiled floors. Went to the A-Team web site and they called me back within 30mins, and were onsite the next morning. With their equipment they were able to pinpoint the leak within 30 cm even though it was under a concrete foundation under the floor. So only 3 boards lifted, leak fixed and hot water again (thanks Aidan !). Neat job (you probably wouldn't even notice the boards had been lifted) and great guys to deal with. Definitely recommend them for any plumbing job, but especially if you have a leak under a floor and don't want to rip it all up just to find the leak.

When you are unfortunate enough to have a leak, all you want is for somebody to find it and fix it quickly with the minimum fuss or turmoil. Pinpointing the exact location of the leak is key. Once you know it's location, the excavation and repair is minimised and everything can go back to normal quickly and efficiently. Ciaran and his A-Team are brilliant at doing exactly that.

I've had a pretty nasty looking leak underneath the wooden floors in my living room – and we live on the ground floor.
