Reviews of Connolly's Gaelic Bar

Spent the last week in Ireland visiting family in Drinagh and discovered The Gaelic Bar, or "Joe's" as the locals call it. We quickly fell in love with this place and found ourselves making nightly stops for a couple of great pours and conversations. You never know who you may run into at the pub, but whoever you do, you can be sure that they will make you feel incredibly welcome. I am a big soccer guy and loved that the bar is filled with local hometown Drinagh Rangers pictures and Liverpool decor. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be able to watch a Champions League Match there. The bartender, Eamonn is a super cool dude who chatted it up with us between servicing customers. He was quick to pick-up on that at the end of the night, I'm always down form a bag of Taytos to go with my last drink. LOL I have only been back to the United States for a day and I am already missing my time there. If you are looking for an authentic Irish pub experience, The Gaelic Bar will not disappoint and worth making a special trip. Check it out and tell them the Yanks from Detroit sent ya!

So nice to actual go out and have a drink again. Lovely big open beer garden with plenty of room for social distancing and very well run with plenty of staff for table service. We will definatly be back.

Full disclosure: this is my cousin's place. I visited when work on the new outdoor area at the back was still in progress, but everything looked promising, and they are to be commended on their efforts to improve facilities during the pandemic.

As a passing cyclist, I was delightfully surprised to be the recipient of the owner's generosity as I passed to photograph the statue of Sean Hurley on the street. I wish the Connolly's all the best when they reopen!

Homey and nonchalant. It's in the tiny town of drinagh and the owners are local. It didnt just have the feeling of being authentic and cozy - it actually just straight up was. Lots of selection in the beer department, free wifi, and a fireplace too. Highly recommended!

This is the best pub in East Drinagh village. Nice atmosphere with a very long top shelf and creamy pints.
