I absolutely love The Tavern. This is an excellent bar/restaurant for a family meal or a tasty romantic meal for two. Currently with only outdoor dining possible, I was so impressed by their outdoor dining facilities. They have a purpose built roof, outdoor heaters and a few wide screen TV and speakers. And the food is always fabulous and so tasty. We had vegetable soup and chowder to start, then I had chicken supreme with mash and veg as a main and my partner had the salmon darn. I would highly recommend a visit.

A group of 6 adults climbed Croagh Patrick in Jan and went to The Tavern apprix Sat 330pm. We odered soup, seafood chowder and one person had scallops, teas and coffee. The service was superb, the food was excellent and tea was great. The chowder was a good mix of fish and not too heavy and quite filling. Everyone praised it, will be back again

Definitely worthwhile stopping at The Tavern. It is popular but tables seem to clear quite quickly. Great choice of menu served by pleasant staff. Parking is by the roadside so caution is needed. I suspect many customers are return visitors which says a lot. Indoor and outdoor dining available. Good food which won't break the bank.

Incredible place! Absolutely stunning food, service and cocktails! Best meal we had in Westport!

Had dinner last night, we enjoyed the food big serving and delicious. The not good part was when the next table to us was finished, the staff cleaning the table aimed the spray to us w/c obviously went to our food, drinks and to us and it end our dining experience then. I hope the staff realise that they are in food business and consider people around while cleaning tables and get more training so it wont happen to any diners.

Was a bit disappointed with this restaurant because I had been recommended multiple times. The outdoor seating area was lovely but when we arrived there was a bad smell around the place, that was better when we reached our table but still not pleasant. I ordered the burger and wasn't overly impressed with it. There was no sauce or relish with it, and it was a little overcooked and messy to eat. However, two girls who came with me ordered fish and said it was delicious, rated it very highly, so perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing!
