Called in to cool down on a very warm day. We met the owners Sean and Betty, who made us very welcome . This bar is spotlessly clean and very comfortable, We would have stayed longer but circumstances didn't allow it.We will definitely be calling again on our next trip down West Cork and especially Rosscarbery, such a nice village 😀

Visited here tonight. We have a bar/restaurant too in Menorca. This was the only place in this little town where the staff and in this case the owner made us feel welcome. He was happy to chat, even sat with us awhile, indeed he gave us pens as gifts, no agenda. Lovely man. The adjacent bar mentioning no names but similar to a 1970s girl band gave us no welcome at all, in fact was totally indifferent to us but seemed to be pre occupied with locals or at least those who had an Irish accent. No problem but it was a shame as our parents were Irish. Our advice is to visit the Abbey Bar and embrace the friendly welcome and enjoy the warm open fire. This is the place to head for, don’t waste your time anywhere else.
