Reviews of Finnegan's of Dalkey
This is a lovely pub with friendly, helpful staff, and the menu was quite varied and reasonably priced. I'd definitely go there again.
Lovely bar. Full of character. The staff are very polite, friendly, attentive and professional. The food is delicious and great place to enjoy a pint and a chat. Looking forward to returning again soon.
Had lunch at this pub, food was nice, BUT when I had just finished I saw a worm/caterpillar moving on my plate. I felt a bit sick at the idea. I showed this to the staff and he said it must have fallen from the hanging basket. No apology and certainly not one cent of the bill. Very disappointed the way this was dealt with. Will not be recommending this place.
Lovely & friendly staff, irish chill atmosphare & reasonable priced nice food. 👌
Lovely comfortable pub full of atmosphere. Staff very pleasant and eager to engage. Prices(blame Covid I expect) have creapt up. Scampi now €21 which hurts the pocket a bit. I will continue to lunch in Finnegans though not so often.
My family, the Reardons, when they visit relatives in Dublin, have told me the food there is some of the finest cuisine they have ever eaten and the atmosphere was electric as heck. I hear the entertainment is world class too. DUBLIN RULES
Nice and cosy pub in the Dublin south suburb of Dalkey. Lovely pints and kind staff. Not a huge a menu but the fish and chips is worthy.
Nice pub food was not the best. Burger was to dry. But as a bar drinking inside was nice. You must have you're covid passport to drink inside. Worth a visit
Been going here for years, but it's losing its charm. It's still a decent pub with good service but the prices of the pints are now quite steep even for Dalkey. 5.20 for Guinness and 5.90 for Heineken etc.!
My 1st Irish pub experience. A bit different because of covid but cozy and great just the same!
A real friendly local in one of Dublin's famous villages
Had been a few times now and first i loved it, but then it was always too crowded, and no air. Its just too hot, they should make air conditioning work :( Also bit overpriced food. But nice spot to rest after a day trip.
I love this place. Beautiful creamy Guinness
A lovely pub and restaurant. Staff are extremely pleasant. Great pints. I love this pub. I'd highly recommend it. Terry burns Dublin.
Lovely shepherd's pie and plenty of it there but the chowder was a bit disappointing 😞. Staff are lovely
Staff are very good and friendly, food is excellent.
Was ok , I had nicer points of Guinness before else where .
Always come here for lunch when I'm back in Ireland. Great lunch.
Great pub
Lovely Food.
Beautiful fish pie and scampi, tastes better after being out on the sea 😂
Real Pub in Ireland. Good beeer, and good friends
Great. A real pub
Lovely pint of Guinness staff very friendly
Great service, try the excellent fish pie
Excellent meal at Finnegan's Dalkey
Lovely pint, friendly kind staff
Finnegan's at Dalkey was great. The tall lad is ticking all the boxes, extremely customer-friendly and hard working, lots of points for him. Unfortunately, I did not get his name but he's easy to identify among the staff.
I was there for a poetry open mic as part of Dalkey Creates Writing Festival, so not a usual night in Finnegan's. It is a traditional kind of pub, but on this evening anyway a lot of people very loud people were in. Pint was good..otherwise the noise and lack of any direction made the open mic very disappointing.
It was fantastic as usual, nice table outside and the lobster bisque was to die for!
Amazing service, good food.
Michelle Obama came here. Food was great!!
An iconic irish pub location. Enjoy great service and banter, while occasionally rubbing shoulders with world renowned celebrities who frequent this establishment - but don't hassle them, they're just trying to enjoy a drink too - and it's just not the Irish way to let them know, that you know, who the hell they are; and if you knew who the hell they were, you sure as hell wouldn't let them know that you knew 'cause what the hell did they do to deserve your attention while your enjoying the best pulled pint in south county Dublin. :-)
A wonderful pub and currently my local. Friendly, attentive staff and great beer! Traditional, warm and cosy atmosphere, even in it's quieter moments.
Great food, great Staff. What's not to like. Still a great atmosphere.
What a great pub and a nice atmosphere. Wanted to have one Guinness, but had 4 or 5 at the end. Very friendly staff and I will come back if I am back in Dublin. Greetings from Germany
Only stopped off here for a quick drink while waiting for a Dart back to town. A pub full of character. Staff are friendly and professional. Service is quick. They appear to have,a great selection of win and a good selection of beer. Locals are friendly. Three minute to Dart station. Facilities are clean and there is,free,Wifi. Dont know, about food,as we,arrived late and, service, would have, stopped. Definitely recommended if visiting Dalkey
Real Irish Pub. Great atmosphere.
Good quality, not cheap, VERY limited vegetarian options though. My daughter and I just had chips. Tasty for 3 Euro though. Very tasty pale ale
One of the best pubs in Ireland..
Our group showed up on a busier than usual weekday lunch hour, 4 adults with 3 kids in tow. A lot of places would have just turned us away. The manager here seated all of us at the bar at the quiet end, no doubt displacing a couple of regulars who showed up later. The managers went out of his way to make the kids feel important and special, and had the kitchen make them up some special meals not on the menu, that kids would love. All our meals were very tasty and we had a great time. That's the kind of place this is. That said, in future we will pick our time better and arrive when it's less busy.
The best pub in Dalkey, family run with really friendly support staff. great to watch a sports match or just have a quiet pint. Especially great in summer sitting outside watching the world go by. Guinness is a must here and you might even bump into Bono.
Wonderful traditional boozer with a great selection of beers and other drinks. Attentive and friendly staff. Prices reflect the upmarket location. One star withheld only due to them not doing food in the evenings which is a shame.
Great service
In these strange times
Lovely safe pretty place right next2the dart station with outside summer dog friendly seating BUT be prepared2overpay4ur Dingle gin as in temple bar prices. BUT at least they had Dingle gin!! €9.90 for a dingle gin with plain soda water tonic is only acceptable as Dalkey is amazing, literary, safe+very very pretty!! I will give it top star rate as I am OBSESSED with dingle gin and as a woman alone I value the complete safety of Dalkey!!
When I go up to heaven and hopefully its not too soon, this is the bar I want to walk into, with all my family and favourite legends standing at the bar to welcome me in with a hug, a kiss a freshly poured pint of Guinness and a wee shot of Red Breast waiting on the bar. Awesome place.
I was there 8 days ago. I had just arrived in Dalkey after a long absence. It was very emotional. The owner gave me a leaflet for the Dalkey Literary Festival. And the Whiskey was great.
Amazing Irish Pub! Tasty food, nice staff, specially Amy and very good prices. What more can you ask for? You must go to Finnegan's if you want to feel the real Irish spirit.
Old style, fabulous food & drink.
Finnegan's is a classic - great place to stop for a drink - the Guinness is good - and watch the world go by or chat to a neighbour on the next table. People are very friendly here, and there's a sense that you can really take your time and just soak in the gentle seaside village atmosphere.
Had a drink here on Saturday night. Lovely big pub. Seems popular. Staff efficient and friendly.
Great place to grab a pint! The lamb was delicious
Was hoping to see Bono and The Edge as the locals say they frequent this pub --- wasn't disappointed (even if they weren't there). Great food, drinks and overall atmosphere.
Great pint of Guinness here!!
Took a really long time just to get our order taken and for our lunch to be made. Their vegetarian option was a salad which is always disappointing. Overall not very pleased, if this wasn't the only place that served lunch on the weekdays in Dalkey, we wouldn't go here.
Best pub I've ever been in and I hope someday that Donald will allow me back in. My days of dancing on tables are over . I didn't realise that Michelle Obama was having her lunch at the time! I'm really really sorry. Can I come back ? Please
Four of us had lunch today. Couldn't have been any better. Served with a smile always helps. What a great team.
Michael Farrell, Booterstown, Co. Dublin
Great and Fresh food, outstanding service plus the sun was out. 5 Star rating for me. Essentially made my trip to Dalkey worth it all.
Great food, great staff, great pints, great fun!
Great pub, not many in messed with pubs in Dalkey so it's good Finnegan s has stayed pretty unaltered. Great pint of Guinness, comfy and the food looks pretty good too.
My favourite pub in Dalkey & locals like myself refer to it as The Sorrento Lounge. Great bar & lounge staff and you usually see a few famous Dalkey heads in here for a pint or two.
Revisiting this well visited pub! Sitting next to cozy fire enjoying good food and a pint of Guinness. Love this small town.
Brilliant 😎😎...3 Lovely pints after a hard days work🌳🌳🌳 Thanks Lads
Great pub with nice decor, not far from Dalkey station
Lovely Local Pub! Very friendly & efficient Staff. Guinness excellent, as is their Food. 👍
Lovely pint of Guinness and even better if you can get a seat outside on a sunny day. Great little sun trap.
Simply the epicenter of Dalkey life. You will eventually find everyone you know or that you want to know here. A memorable and historic stop with very good choice of whiskeys, gins and beers. Must go if you're in Dalkey!
Excellent. Friendly, efficient and probably the best guiness I've had to date, but I've only been in Ireland for a couple of days. It will be hard to beat nevertheless.
Nice people, good pour, lovely atmosphere!
Top class family run Pub with excellent atmosphere and friendly efficient staff. A real feature in the cultural heart of this beautiful village.
Great place, decent pints, good crew and a great lunch during the day!
Excellent food and service.
Lovely and relaxing of a sunnys Autumn day in Dalkey. Super-friendly service and delish food. Had food-envy as I watched the cottage pie land on someone else's table!! I'll be back for it
Good drinks and good information
I love it. Good food. Nice people. Place to watch sports. Good beer.
Great food and service.
Great for an upscale pint and a bit of people watching. Reliably great service with a smile! Good parking near the DART station!
Nice place for a beer with friend anytime
It's a fine pub, but has become a bit nondescript over the last few years. It serves its purpose, neither well nor poorly. Average.
Friendly, Irish atmosphere even if sometimes full of tourists, quick service, good food, great value
Fantastic spot, atmosphere ans staff ate great too, beautiful wines and cheaper than my own local, well worth a trip
Had a drink with my friends after the rugby match so drop in before going home great atmosphere

Nice old pub, would give 5 stars if staff were a bit friendlier...
Great food and service. I'll be back next week for another Guinness and lunch.
Proper old school pub with lovely high roof that leaves the room airy and bright. Plenty of space to have a nice chat with friends.
Great spot pints and food top notch service excellent
Great Guinness and great food
Good pint 👌🏽 nice old style snug filled pub
Really good , friendly and efficient staff and excellent menu . Could have stayed but was driving . Next time maybe ? 🤞
Fabulous, as always. Lovely to see so many Fiinegans in the one place@
Fantastic family owned boozer in the centre of Dalkey... Great atmosphere, all the sports on TV and a delicious Fish Pie just to top it all off!
Great pub but at 5.20 for a Guinness you are as priced out of the drinks market as you are out of the local housing market. Not that the beau monde seems to mind.
Guinness to die for...
Really nice pub. Nice Guinness. Lovely, friendly staff
A super place for lunch. Great food and service and a lovely ambience. A definite "must go to" if you find yourself in Dalkey.
Loved this place! Sat outside and had a cold one! Friendly staff a bit of the charm of Dalkey.
Lovely Pub and lovely Staff. Very comfortable pub to spend many hours there.
Very nice place old fashioned with top class friendly lunch time service and Real Scampi not frozen.
Firm favourite when in Dalkey, a real pub well run with professional staff. Will definitely be back, do yourself a favor and drop in.
Watched the Scotland England rugby match here and even though the bar was full to the rafters never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for service at our table
a favourite local for us over the years, great staff, good food, very busy during the rugby matches and always busy on the weekend evenings.
Our fav pub in dalkey, the most generous servings of wine and always great service

One of the top pubs in South Dublin. Hearty lunch during the week, excellent atmosphere all the time.
It is possible that this is the best pub in Dalkey but most of them are very good. At times it can be a bit too busy for my liking.
