Our experience in Davy Byrne’s was greatly enhanced by the kindness, knowledge and patience of our server Monica. We took her advice on everything from the seafood starter, sea trout special main, our gin aperitif, bottle of wine and the cheese board with port. Monica thank you for helping us make the right choices; for explaining the ingredients and connecting us with the undoubted talent of your chefs. Highly recommend this fantastic Dublin restaurant.

We had an AWESOME lunch here (served by the incomparable Tommy!) An array of dishes (and various pints of Guiness) were all absolutely fantastic (the soup of the day was a special standout) and the atmosphere was equally great. Next time we’ll try to reserve a table out front 🌞

We had a fantastic dinner at Davy Byrnes. The staff is extremely welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable - special thanks to Tommy and Monika for their hospitality! The food was fabulous - I had the Irish Wagyu burger as my main course, which was perfect. The fries were probably some of the best I have ever had. Highly recommended!

Had a nice lunch of crab claws and prawn open sandwich with a couple of glasses of beer. Very inventive staff providing a pleasant experience, pricey but you get what you pay for.

+ Excellent Dining Experience, Tommy and Linda are incredible and wonderful people, thank you! Tommy as it was said, you could open a training school. Seriously, Dublin's restaurants need more of your kind.
+ Delicious, fresh, rich, amazing range of meals, always well prepared with perfect seasoning. Congratulation to the chef and to all responsible for the cooking staff. Everything is always so tasty and so well presented. Specials of the days are well chosen.
+ Definition of selection of wines and drinks is top class and recommendations by Tommy are priceless.
+ Strong and rich coffee, ideal to start or finish your dining experience.
+ Wonderful atmosphere due to charming, friendly, well-spoken, classic manners and highly professional team and tastefully chosen type of music.
+ Very good pricing for this so well-managed restaurant.
+ Spotlessly clean.
+ Location in heart of Dublin, suitable so well for tourist and locals.
+ Great for lunch, brunch, early bird, and late dinner.
+ Vegan, Vegetarian options are available and the steak is served as ordered.
I highly do recommend Davy Byrnes. Looking forward to returning soon. Regular customer.

Neighborhood gem, can be tricky to get into at peak times so make reservations in advance. Cozy feel inside or out, prefer inside vibe unless you want to people watch. Great Rose here paired with tasty appetizers. Lovely place for couples. Very attentive staff. Will definitely return.

Fine, historical Davy Byrnes can be an experience food wise if they didn't serve ancient brown bread with oysters and crab claws. But most objectionable is the fact that when you ask for a glass of white house wine it should be a duty for the waiter to quote all the choice of white or red house wine and their respective prices and not offer sauvignon at €9.75 per glass that is the most expensive in the list

Enjoyed a lovely lunch in Davy Byrne’s today, delicious food, great service from our waiter Enda. The decor is very chic and the homage to James Joyce and Ulysses is very welcome. In a disappearing Dublin the need to hold on to the city’s character is vital. Well done Billy the owner and host. Will return again and again.
I should have put a #tag in front of Disappearing Dublin, the phrase is my coinage. Check out Disappear Dublin on Instagram.

Sitting at the bar at last in DB's, simply magic. We're almost back to normal. Great service as usual. Slipping in since 1980, Kevin & Lorraine.

The table was kinda small for three, and the space outside as well, tables were not distanced enough. But I guess it must be hard when you cannot have customers indoors! Aside from this, food was delicious, excellent service and staff, indeed the most welcoming restaurant in Dublin so far! We were also satisfied with the price-quality ratio. I will certainly come back when times get better! Thank you
M. F.
First time here. A great experience. Looking forward to returning
I returned today January 28th. Had Beatrice as our waitress. Such a lovely member of staff. Great service and great food.

It's was just perfect for lunch. Wish I could have stayed a bit longer. The staff were friendly and helpful. It's a busy spot not surprising.

Recommended to me by a lovely receptionist at my Staycity Hotel, when we met on the streets of Dublin,as she was going home and I was heading back to the hotel, so let me pass on that recommendation to others. So much more class than many of the other bar/ restaurants that I passed on my way there. Lovely decor, lovely staff and the food was to die for. Hence the 5 stars.
Three more nights here in Dublin, I will be back.
H. E.
Great place and very friendly staff. Food was very good and the steak we had was super tasty and of good quality.
D. C.
Fantastic service and a reasonably price for food. What a lovely staff they have. We couldn't ask for more
G. G.
Great food, friendly efficient service and very reasonably priced. Lovely outdoor set up with heaters, great location to soak up the buzz of the city.
P. C.
Lovely experience having a few pints at the bar, thinking of Joycean matters and enjoying a random chat with a guy who grew up where the debt plagued brother, Stanislsus Joyce, shopped at his granny's counter.
M. R.
Went out for a date here last night with my wife, and I must say I was highly impressed overall with the experience. The staff was very welcoming and nice, they were so involved and interested with all the guests. The food was also very well priced and super delicious, the rib-eye stake here cooked medium-rare is just mouthwatering!!! Super location just of Grafton Street. Thank you will be back.

Myself and my boyfriend went here for dinner Friday Friday and it was the most special experience. We were made feel so welcome from the time we stood at the entrance. I went there with my boyfriend for the first time. The place was neat, lovely and clean, the food was delicious (chocolate brownie with ice cream is recommended). Even the staff was great: our server that day was Beatrice... an extremely kind and warm person ❤️

Had a fabulous experience in Davy byrnes. We live in carlow im originally a dub I have frequently drank in this pub over the years. I brought my husband in this weekend and he was amazed with the food and atmosphere. It is excellent food and service.. we cant wait to go again. Also very reasonable with prices towards other places. You won't be disappointed its an amazing place and lovely relaxing vibe about it..
J. M.
The best black pudding that I have had!! Arrived without reservation, by local advice, and it didn't disappoint. Very good service and lovely food.

Old Dublin pub great food. A peace of Dublin history if in Dublin you must visit. James Joyce landmark
C. C.
I tried some soup and it was very good as starter, then I ate a beef stew and it wasn't my type of food. After some hours I started feeling pretty bad and my stomach was going crazy, I don't know if it was from eating here but it was the only thing I ate that day.
S. T.
Incredible food, staff and atmosphere!
We had such a great time in Davy Byrnes for a late lunch. The food was fantastic and the staff couldn't have done any more for us. They also followed the new guidelines so well that you felt so comfortable and safe. Can't wait to go back!
J. G.
Thoroughly enjoyed a lovely toastie with chips that were piping hot. As good as you will get anywhere. Lovely white tablecloth, attention to every detail and staff who were both attentive and efficient. Front of house extremely polite. Fully compliance and more with Covid guidelines. Definitely return.
J. G.
Fab as always. Our waiter Tommy was extremely nice and attentive and Adrian was super nice as always.
A. M.
Lovely spot. Last orders on a Tuesday are 22:15 hence the Lost star. Otherwise really enjoyed it.
F. M.
Great food, drink, service and ambiance. What's not to like?
E. D.
Absolutely fantastic place. The staff, the welcome and the food were all brilliant....can't wait to get back again........⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
M. W.
Enjoyed the atmosphere and waiter was very friendly. Was not impressed with the main food .Turkey and ham dried up at the edges like it was reheated.
A. B.
What a fabulous place! Fantastic food and service literally on grafton street. Highly recommended. Denisa is top ⭐️ . Also the manager Adrian is a fine gent . Not to mention Thomas . Would definitely go back.
K.
My girlfriend insisted on going here.
The sharing seafood platter was exceptional (although I'd usually prefer hot food).
But the star of the night was our server, Thomas I think. So attentive, funny and just generally good craic.
He also guided us, no need for a side with the platter, the brownie is enough for one, fancy spirits are wasted with mixers.

This is a very nice venue - staff are friendly and professional and they serve a very nice pint in very pleasant surroundings. The protocol with regard to Covid is strictly adhered to.
M. D.
Very different Davy Byrne's post lockdown. Was a regular haunt in the past when in town but sadly will not be in the future. Now more food oriented which is fine. But at €9.75 for a glass of Prosecco will not be visiting again for a drink. Trying to be something it is not I fear.
C. S.
Love love loved it!! Stopped by as a teenager, but couldn't drink, visited again almost 20 years later and it was well worth it!! They even brought out a memento for me since I'd visited so long ago!
Husband and I shared the beef sandwich, chips and tomato basil soup. It was great!! Finished it with a pint of Rockshore cider!
M. L.
Loved the decor, theatre vibes. Good food and great cocktails.
A. M.
Fantastic we always visit when we go over to Dublin bit if a tradition now the food was excellent and service second to none definitely recommend
B. G.
"He entered Davy Byrne'. Moral pub." -- Ulysses by James Joyce. I don't know what Joyce meant by moral pub, but this is a quiet sophisticated city pub. By quiet I mean that it manages to avoid the tackiness of tourism despite being in the heart if an area attractive to tourists. It is in fact very popular and often busy. They serve very good food and the barmen pour an excellent pint of Guinness. Just off Grafton Street it's a great place to go to enjoy a bit of relaxation in the midst of a shopping trip.
c. m.
Really nice friendly staff, nice touch for the owner to come over for a chat... it's great to see places back open, very clean safe feeling to the place
M. S.

Great atmosphere. Pity Set menue never changes. Very well trained staff. Lovely to see mature finely attired ladies sitting in same pews each Friday night with finely attuned sense of belonging-long may such continue

Was in there Saturday night December 5th. Great food and service. All the staff were lovely and Billy the owner took the time to greet all his customers. Was lovely to hear his plans for this historic old pub. A real family affair with his wife and sister working all together. Best of luck to them in these tough times.
E. P. V.
The food is good, is a beautifil place but is more like a restaurant than a pub.
S. B.
Absolutely delighted to come on here and give this Venue a 5 Star Review. If there was a 10 star option i would gladly select that without any hesitation.
I dropped in to Davys last Saturday evening to catch up with a pal for a pint and a bite to eat.
Food was excellent but what topped it off was the SERVICE ! From the minute we entered until the minute we left, we were treated with the best customer service ever. I cannot remember the last time that i received such outstanding SERVICE. Linda, the hostess is exceptionally good at her job. You can tell she enjoys it and it reflects very strongly on the patrons of DAVYS.
The bar staff, every one of them , were pleasant, polite, accommodating and professional. There is also one Specific member of Staff assigned to hygiene control which is very impressive.
It is wonderful to be a customer of an organization that gladly wants your business and they prove this continuously.
To the management , Linda & all the other staff that were working last Saturday, Thank you. Looking forward to coming back already.
M. M.
Incredible service and delicious food. Thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Would highly recommend to anyone. Go into Davey Byrnes and they will look after you!
J. S.
Always a great place to get a good pint of Guinness. A bit to loud sometimes and seen that not all waiters take time for Guinness.
D. V.
Nice place to grab a Guinness and some pub food. Also have some very nice TVs to watch rugby or football. Quick service and friendly staff.
A. B. S.
Got a meal here and had THE best service from Thomas. I’m here on a trip to decide whether I should move here full time for uni. Thomas may have swayed it (he was THAT lovely). Thanks Thomas - stay ace. Also the food was glorious and I had beautiful multicoloured beetroots and some goats cheese that made me want to cry. Awesome. Highly recommend
G. L.
Nice atmosphere. Reasonable prices. I loved the beef and Guinees pie.
D. J.
Service good
Food turkey dreadfully dry and vegs overcooked
C. S.
Lovely staff. Atmosphere has waned since Covid.
G. M.
Always enjoy here, great everytime.New decor lovely.
F. M.
Very friendly staff and great range of food and drinks on the menu. Nice outdoor area which can be booked in advance via their website. Especially useful as of late Sept with the restrictions that are in place. Located right in the heart of Dublin.
P. R.
Since new ownership took over, this historic pub is going from strength to strength! The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Definitely one of the best burgers in Dublin. I highly recommend Davy Byres!
A. S.
Great service delicious food amazing atmosphere
T. O.
Beautiful food, and tastey pints, also helps how nice the staff are and so welcoming and accommodating, a must when you're in Dublin,
J. R.
Out shopping we came across Davy Byrnes, to see it packed at the front was a good sign as to quality and wait staff with visors/masks made us feel safe. So we requested a table inside because it was quite a warm day. Nice and cool inside, only other table was a couple guys chatting. Food was delicious and we couldn't resist trying both desserts chocolate brownie and sticky toffee pudding, which if anything where perfect. All staff very polite and plenty of hand sanitizer. Price is correct for centre of Dublin.

Went to town today with my wife and daughter (who is a wheelchair user) for the time since lock down.
Was looking for somewhere to eat and approched Davy Byrnes. We were immediately approached by a lovely member of staff who had no problem rearranging some furniture to accommodate our needs.
The food was excellent and very tasty couldn't have been better. Whole place was spotless.
The whole experience was brilliant considering we were very apprehensive about eating out.
The management and staff were very professional and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed ourselves.
Would definitely recommend Davy Byrnes to family and friends, and will definitely be returning.
C. C.

First day after lockdown and had a booking in Davys for lunch at 2.30. Immediately welcomed and made to feel at home, a lot of effort put into this, girls in the group got a white rose, great touch. Adrian, front of house, looked after us throughout and made sure we always had food and drink.
Very impressed with the hygiene in there and the toilet system was brilliant.
The food was incredible for a small menu.
They've spent big on the renovation and it shows, will be back.
C. D.
Staff are very nice. Atmosphere is nice too. Food on the other hand is not good. Perfectly clean and good quality but cheap ingredients, rushed/basic preparation and greasy. Go for a pint, enjoy the atmosphere. Eat elsewhere.
L. (.
Blooms day 16th June is one of the most important days of the cultural calender. Davy Byrne's pub is where bloom stops off for a glass of burgandy and gorgonzola in James Joyces' novel Ulysses. The greatest book ever written mentions one of the greatest pubs "ever crossed dublin without passing one" enjoy.
E. S.
Lovely atmosphere ...great service.. wine could have been better....
E. D. C.
Must see pub in Dublin. Lovely place.
T. D.
Amazing owners and staff. The food is great, and the location is awesome, near to one of the main streets of Dublin. We'll comeback surely, make a reservation for the next year! 😁

I was there after at 11 30 in the morning, it was my first return visit in forty two years. This time it was just for coffee, the last visit was for a stronger drink. I loved it, it was full of atmosphere and energy. The staff greeted new and regular customers with genuine enthusiasm and responded with any request with " no problem" they even gave strangers directions and suggestions for other attractions in Dublin. Won't wait so long for my next visit.
P. B.
This is one of our favourite pubs in Dublin. It has history and charm and the staff are courteous and friendly. The food is good and the drink is always excellent. Don't miss Bloomsday for a Joycean celebration of music and readings from Ulysses.
J. K.
One of the best pubs in town...great service and atmosphere
P. R.
My all time favourite bar in Dublin. Beautiful interior and maintained to the highest standard. Excellent choice of beers and wines and a great choice of hot and cold food, Especially their home made soup served with McCambridge soda bread my favourite. The perfect place to spend a few hours or better still have a lost afternoon or evening in beautiful surroundings . I really can't recommend this highly enough when visiting Dublin this is a must go to place.
P. C.
Under new management but same great place! Great food, unique atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, good value. Still a fan!
S. C.
It's a busy spot at lunchtime but you usually get a seat after 2.30 p.m no problem.
Very good dinner menu with good choices. Dinner probably better value than panini options. Good helpful staff and Davy Byrnes is in a very central location for visitors with nearby Grafton Street shopping area. Also near to National Gallery and St. Stephen's Green Park.

Great Traditional Pub. I am a wheelchair user and it is my favourite Pub in Dublin. It has a very spacious wheelchair accessible toilet.
Staff are great and food is very good and at reasonable prices.
P. L.
A comfortable Dublin pub in the center of town. Young hip and trendy ..no. Comfortable, easy going and relaxed yes. More grey hairs than gel... but hey, I liked it.
P. R.
A must try on a Visit to Davy Byrnes. A refreshing alcohol drink made of honey. Beekon!! 🐝🐝🐝

As a lover of Irish literature, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to stop at Davy Byrne's "moral" pub. We'll worth a stop. Great assortment of whiskeys and a good mix of friendly locals and tourists.

Lovely bar with friendly staff, plenty of seating inside (the bar stretches back quite far), as well as a seating area out the front. Great atmosphere.
D. R.
Quality pub, excellent bar staff. Seriously, professional bar staff that know their customers, talk to the blow-ins, and serve a lovely pint. Cracking spot all together!
B. H.
Celebrated Dublin pub that featured in Joyce's master work. It's firmly embedded on the Dublin tourist trail and many pub crawls and literary tour stop here. (Dublin, in fact has combined the two things its famous for, books and boozing, into a single tour: the literary pub crawl). The food is 'Irish' and OK. There's better to be had in the locality for the price but sure, if you're on the trail anyway...
a. b.
Tasty Guinness and a friendly welcome
A. L.
Great place, really good food, staff very pleasent and friendly. Great evening of fun.
T. O. K.

Although you should probably visit this place if you are a fan of James Joyce (it has a copper plaque in the floor in front as well, and still some of the original menu items that are featured in his writing) it is rather expensive and busy, and certainly knows that it is a place that fans of James Joyce go to.
