Reviews of Sheehans Pub

Lovely, authentic, Irish pub experience. The exposed brick walls, the wood paneling, the ambiance… all delightful. The food was super delicious. We had the chicken burger, the wings, and the shepherds pie. All very well done and gone in 60 seconds. Pleasant and friendly service. I could sit here all day.
E. B.
Great food, pleasant staff. We had fish and chips(a few more chips would have been nice), lamb shank and onion rings, all reasonably priced. Left full and happy. We'll done Sheehans, best food around.
D. C.
Called in here today to have their Irish stew. It was the tastiest Irish stew I ever had. Delicious 😋 and well presented. Had a nice cup of coffee ☕ after. I highly recommend a visit here and highly recommend their Irish stew. It is very, very tasty 😋. The staff are welcoming, mannerly, pleasant and polite. All boxes ticked. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄.

Stopped in for one drink after a lot of walking around on Saturday afternoon. Such a lovely bar! Friendly staff and a great pint. Ended up staying for several more pints and some food, which was also delicious. I'll be back again for sure.
S. K.
Lovely cosy place. We sampled the mulled cider, mulled wine and Guinness. All wonderful
J. H.
Great pub. Professional and friendly staff . Always nice atmosphere. Cosy room upstairs. Whether you're out shopping or just strolling in the city centre, there's always a warm welcome from staff.
N. C.
Delicious food and good beer. Average price: spent about 50€ for three people, three meals (sandwich, lamb and chicken) and two pints.
Good service. Nice pub overall. Recommended for a lunch break.
N. A.
Beautiful pub, with fantastic Guinness and really tasty seafood chowder. The beef and Guinness pie is really good as well, and I recommend the chicken wings.
The atmosphere is perfect as well, cozy and well worn. One of the most comfortable and cheery local pubs I've ever found, anywhere in the world.
Highly recommended.
T. D.
Great drinks, great food. Special mention for the beer batter onion rings and thanks very much to Harry for making us feel at home
A. M.
Lovely cosy place to meet up with friends and relax. Great food, lovely Guinness and very pleasant staff.
Just the right place to be on a rainy afternoon in Dublin 😍

Really good food and nice people. It didn't appear as crowded as some of the other pubs in the area plus they served fresh food instead of buffet which was a big plus.
The lamb shank have been really tender, and the smoked salmon with salad was lovely. Very nice interior!
Sorry for tipping with a mixture of euro and pound - I ran out of euros....
p. c.
tasty pints..friendly staff
A.
Great pub, quite big, good food options (Vege and vegan too), good beers and very kind staff that are doing their best to make sure everyone has a great time ✨
S.
We've been here because we just wanted to have a short break of shopping around the corner - typical "wanna pee and have a pint" situation.
My girlfriend and I shared a plate of fish and chips and it was just wonderful! The fish was on point, the chips were some of the best I had during the past few weeks and the staff was extraordinary kind. On top of that the whole atmosphere here is just how you imagine an Irish pub should be.
Definitely would go there again.

Was my 1st pint of Guinness upon arrival to Dublin, and was delicious. Pub was energetic and lovely. People were amazing ! A must stop if visiting !
W. H.
Friendly attentive and knowledgeable service with thoughtful and sensible recommendations on whiskey.
High quality selection of all sorts of drinks on offer.
Beautiful interiors, well taken care of.
Not noisy at all.
Great atmosphere.
S. C.
Out of the really busy part of Dublin, so a bit quieter. Very traditional old pub with lovely staff doing table service. Great food. Definitely one to look for when visiting Dublin, suitable for families.
L. P.
Amazing pub!! We were looking to get away from the Temple Bar scene and find something a little more cozy and quiet. This was it! Staff was very friendly. Food was incredible. We had Irish Stew.
C. A. (.
Sheehan's is in a great location near all the Dublin night life and the buzz of Grafton street. It's relatively small inside but I visited on a Friday evening in May and many people were outside with their drinks enjoying the sun. Three is a good range of beers and wines. The place was busy and it took some time to get served but that was a small price to pay for a pleasant drink.
R. W.
Really enjoyed this small pub in the heart of Dublin. Lots of locals and a few tourists. Delicious sandwiches and Guinness and beef pie. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff.
S. E. H.
Fantastic service in a Nice atmosphere
A. S.
Great great great! Found this place on TripAdvisor as a fairly well rated pub and it sure didn't disappoint. Downstairs bar as well as the upstairs dining area we're really busy and I can't blame them, food was great! Our waiter Harry was amazing, I wasn't sure what drink to have so every time I asked what he recommends he brought me something different to try and always hit the spot. Came in for a meal but ended up spending an evening here. Good job guys!!
A. K.
Very nice pub serving excellent dishes. We enyoyed Irish Stew and a warm apple tart. It was excellent.
T. L.
Great place to have a drink and chill. We didnt eat but the food coming out looked amazing. The staff were great and the Guinness was awesome!
C. V.
Sir Tom Jones has a customized bottle of Jameson's upstairs in a locker. I'm on the wait list to have my very own locker. The barkeeps are excellent , friendly and knowledgable. Hmm, I think I'll go back tonite!
C. M.
A pub with bags of character, great background music, beer and food. The potato soup is to die for! You've got to pop in here if you're in Dublin!
C. M.
Best chicken wings I have ever had! Together with a Guinness and the rugby match they made my day.
Y. D.
The food was great and the atmosphere is amazing. The only thing I really did not like is that you get the bill even though you didn't ask for it, sending the message that it is time for you to leave. I do not find this gesture very friendly... Definitely disappointed.
I. A.
Absolutely delicious bangers and mash and a super friendly barman. Very awesome vibe to the place, was recommended here by a random person on the street and exceeded expectations
N.
Good food, best pint in Dublin City :)
J. M. L.
Great pub, great meal, great beers, great ambiance, great music and great waiters. What else.
G. D.
Great staff, great atmosphere, great Guinness. Just great!!
F. S.
Perfect Pub, good food, very friendly staff!
T. W.
The Guinness is lovely here, the pub is very casual and does not feel like a tourist trap. The food is good value for money and very traditional!
a. c.
The food was great. Great atmosphere. We will come again. The staff were so nice, especially the Spanish waitress.
D. S.
Great place for a drink when you are in town great food and a friendly atmosphere love pubs like this a real pub
R. A.
Excellent Atmosphere. Definitely need to visit if you have visitors over. Local grub is delicious. Staff are really friendly. Sometimes you feel like it's a long wait but it's actually not. Roasting inside even though you think it should be colder.
M. d. W.
Amazing lunch. Lamb shank and roasted chicken were marvelously delicious. Splendid staff and interior. Good prices. Nothing not too like! Would recommend and visit again when back in Dublin!
K. K.
Absolutely fantastic pub near the St Stephen's Green area of central Dublin. Such a nice atmosphere with the space inside not as crammed as some other pubs can be. The staff were outstanding, making us feel really welcome during our whole visit for a late lunch snack. Food was excellent with fast service. Highly recommended to visit if ever in the area.
A. L. d. A.
Great place, great food, especially the beef stew Pie
D. O.
A proper traditional Dublin bar, shirt and tie barman serving drinks perfectly in proper glasses. Cheerful wait staff and great food. Saw the barman deal incredibly well with an American tourist complaining about his Pint being "off". It wasn't - I was drinking the same! But replaced promptly with a smiling apology.
E. D.
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. There is always a terrific atmosphere and the food is beautiful
B. K.
Superb service, Great food and whiskey
a. j.
Cosy atmosphere. Staff were so efficient and friendly at the same time. Met up with friends and had a wonderful afternoon. No loud banging music. Just a wonderful peaceful ambience and lovely food and drink. We had a great day.
T. R. J.
Good bar with friendly bar staff. It's just off Grafton street and so is not the cheapest bar in Dublin. Comfy seats and a good atmosphere even when it's not full. Not a big superpub and has a small smoking area on the street outside the front door with a few barrels to put your pint on. Like this if it is useful please.
J. M.
Great atmosphere, amazing food (Beef and Guinness stew was awesome!)..they were very busy when we walked in..made us feel welcome, got us a drink while we waited..not more than 5 minutes. All staff that we had interaction with was friendly, courteous and prompt!
p. w.
A great spot for something to eat and a drink. Right in the middle of Dublin off Grafton street its a step back in time to nostalgia. The pub is family run and has a great history over 150 years old. The food is excellent and the staff very accommodating and pleasant. It's a must visit spot if you are in Dublin you won't regret it .
M. D.
Just stopped in for a quick lunch. The Beef & Guinness pie was excellent. The waitress did spill a small pitcher of milk for coffee when delivering the meal. Other than that the service was good.
E. W.
Lucky find! We were greeted warmly, waited a few minutes for a table to clear, drink orders taken and served up promptly, and the best part? Yes, excellent traditional pub fare (as advertised on the signage outside). Enjoyed the Guinness Stew (served with fries and frseh salad with mustard seeds), Traditional Irish Stew (served piping hot the way only Europeans have mastered) with Irish soda bread and butter, and Bangers and Mash (topped off with a more than healthy portion of crunchy onion "slaw")--excellent! Extensive drinks menu, too! I suspect we will be back!
C. O.
Food menu is not overwhelming and hits all the right notes. I tasted the soup (it was hearty and seasoned perfectly...so tasty), the wings are a must with just the right amount of heat. The burgers were big, juicy and everyone thoroughly enjoyed them. I had the Ham and Turkey. The turkey was not too dry and ham not too salty...both so succulent. Everything on the plate was seasoned just right. All washed down with the perfect pints of Guinness and great service. Simple, relaxed and inviting with carefully chosen decor...this is a pub! The staff are really attentive and a wonderful buzzing atmosphere as the place fills up quite quickly, especially this time of year. Excellent selection of whiskeys, gins and beers from both bars and a lovely pint of Guinness. Sheehan's never disappoints.
B. C.
DO IT! VISIT IT! LOVED THIS PLACE. Went there with a buddy and the place was packed. I hate eating/drinking right at the bar but decided to take a chance and I’m glad I did. The bartender was awesome, the beer was amazing and the stew was cooked to perfection! I had an amazing evening and great location, just off Grafton St.
D. J. S.
Amazing atmosphere and the best Irish Beef Stew I've had in Dublin!
e. h.
A little gem in the heart of the city. The minute you walk through the door you feel the fantastic atmosphere. The service for both food and drink is excellent and the Guinness is delightful. A must go to when around the Grafton street area. Mint
T. S. M.
Great lunch deal. Cup of soup. Sambo and chips. Delicious.
F. S.
Six euros for a bottle of Heineken is criminal. But sure you only drink it if you want it. The pub is alright, they have a nice upstairs lounge. The location doesn't hurt but there's far better spots around.
J. D.
Very nice traditional style pub in a great location near Grafton street
They do a really nice food menu, it's small but has something for everyone. Decent range of drinks and usually matches on tv.
Well worth dropping on weekends if in town shopping or evenings for a quiet pint and to watch a game
S. H.
Very nice Pub, nice personal. Sadly we didn't ordered a table, had only a drink at the bar. But next time for sure we'll eat there
K. B.
Good simple pub grub and beer selection. Nice old style decor, and away from the bustle of the more touristy parts of town. Staff are very nice, but run off their feet!
m. f.
Fantastic lamb stew! Nice variety of good beer! Good atmosphere....:)
s. k.
Sheehan's pub is a lovely place for a good night out and the staff are so friendly and helpful
A. M.
I don't think I've ever been here when it was quiet. There is always a great crowd and a great atmosphere. They seem to have done a lot of work to it recently especially the upstairs bar but it still has the same great feel.
I've never had food here before but after seeing and smelling all the lovely food this weekend I'd be tempted to give it a try.
Z. P. O.
Visited twice on our trip through Dublin. Food was great, service was better. Darryl (sp?), our bartender, was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Made the experience five times better. Can't say enough good things about him, or about this place.
R. H.
Nice place, food was good. Couple of issues... we were seated in the back, and the football game was turned up so loud it was hard to talk, which is a little annoying when you can’t see the TV. Worse, it took longer to get the check than the actual meal took. I’m familiar that it takes longer in Europe than the states, but this was extreme. I involuntarily left a tip just because I didn’t have exact change and didn’t know how else to escape
Y.
Great food , great beer, great wines, awsome place!
A. G. G.
Irish pub with great service and product. We were delighted with an amazing beef in guiness pie (which my wife and I shared), two pints of guiness, and afterwards a delicious piece of apple pie (the best I've tried in a very long time, and I love apple pie), all for 26 💶. Staff were charming, music was really nice and the place was really clean and cozy. Great experience, would recommend 10/10
P. S.
Lovely pub in the heart of Dublin, usually packed inside and outside on a sunny day, as it allows to roam around the pedestrian zone with your pint of preferred beer. Equally frequented by locals and tourists.
A. R.
I'm not sure about this pub, I've been a few times recently, I find very noisey, why people have to shout at one another is beyond me, even when they are sholder to sholder or face to face. The musik is usually great. The food is evedently excellent. The pints are great, just a bit pricy. I'll try it again before I make up my mind. Wha da ya tink?
D. M.
The best Guinness Pie we found anywhere in Ireland. The food was all really good though, and the staff is friendly and is sure to keep your beer full. One of my favorite pubs in Ireland.
C. D.
They have taken to the outdoor service really well and staff are great
C. G.
Superb professional and personal service, thanks Jack, Celine
A. L.
Good sandwiches and potato soup. Good selection of beers.
K. M.
Great food and nice staff. Ha fish and chips and my partner had the roast chicken. Both had more than enough food on it. Also have a range of beers and spirits
J. Z. I.
Nice cozy and quaint pub, great selections of food and drinks. Enjoyed my visit, the bar staff was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed.
K. M.
This is the classic Irish pub experience that you've been looking for. This is my mate's local and the staff looked after us well. The Guinness is cold the food is hot and the whiskey plentiful! I loved it
D. M.
Great spot for a few pints after work :-)
s. b.
Excellent food and the beer on tap is amazing. The atmosphere makes it all that much better. A must if you are going to spend time in Dublin.
M. C.
Top notch food, drinks and ambiance just off Grafton St. Much less touristy than many of the pubs nearby. Excellent whiskey bar upstairs with great Powers whiskey history.
E. J.
A grand pub with good atmosphere and a decent pint of Guinness. The food lets out down a little, but if you're after a cosy spot to wile away and afternoon you could do far worse. There's a bit of craic in the bar staff too
P. M.
Lovely Irish pub. And the dining room is wheelchair accessible, which can be hard to find in Dublin; many are upstairs or downstairs with no lift.
M. G. M.
Very nice staff. If you're visiting Dublin coming from Spain you're not going to have any communication problem as they speak Spanish. Family friendly pub.
C. B.
Go upstairs and try the Steak and Ale pie! Absolutely delicious, and perfect with Guinness. If you are really hungry, start with the fish cakes. Friendly, comfortable, and excellent value.
J. C.
Great place for a drink and meet up with friends but gets busy in the evening especially on Fridays. Great food well worth for dinner or lunch enjoy if you try it
K. P.
First pub my wife and I went to on our honeymoon. Stopped in for a pint, ended up with a British stag party and 8 hours was lost to great fun. Darrah took great care of us 2 Americans. Great drinks, great food, better people, thanks Darrah

One of my favorite pubs in Dublin. Darrah was our bartender. Super nice guy. We spent 3 hours inside and the time flew by. Very tourist friendly.
M. K.
Sheehans is by far one of the best Pubs in Dublin. Good food. Great atmosphere. Beer is always cold. The staff (Brian, Tiz, Darrah, Harry and the rest) are phenomenal are always good fun to be around. My Pub of choice when in Dublin.

A. V.
One of my favorites pubs in Dublin. The atmosphere is always incredible, good pub to watch a match and they also have Irish food and it's very tasty!
A. C.
Quaint nice pub in the center of Dublin. Beer choices are limited but the food is good (for pub food that is). Smoking at the entrance only, no outside garden available.
M. F.
Great pub! Had the best lamb shank ever. Service is great too. Prices are normal.
S. F.
Nice enough spot near Grafton Street for a pint and a quick lunch. A few TVs that'll show sport typically. Bar staff efficient and friendly
B. J.
Bartenders are working AND having fun. Great food, great drinks, great music, great atmosphere. Love this place. Came here on a previous trip and will return again
C. H.
Nice little pub that had locals and tourists. We got there at 1130 and had a nice lunch. Got very crowded around 1300, but the space changed over frequently.

Would normally try nearys for a pint on this stretch in town, but popped in here for a pint and some chicken wings after the world cup, nice pints and very tasty wings brings it from 3 to 4 stars.
M. L.

(Translated) Less than 10 minutes walk from Trinity College, a quiet place where you can try traditional food, with many types of beer. The staff is super friendly and everything is perfect! We ordered grilled cheese sandwich, steak and Guinness pie and cheesecake with Baileys, great :)

(Translated) Typical Irish pub in the center of Dublin. The staff is nice and accommodating, despite it being Saturday night and we had not booked, they found us a table in a few minutes. The menu is not extensive but there is a pub. Prices are average, the dish of beef marinated in guinness with french fries costs around € 15

(Translated) A quiet place where you can eat and drink in a traditional way. The food is very good and the waiters very friendly especially the blonde woman. Price as pubs more or less € 18-20 per head depending on what you drink.

(Translated) It is a typical pub, with little lighting and a menu with typical Irish dishes.
The service is good, with fast and table service.
The dishes are good, but not surprising. We ordered a clam chowder, fish and chips pie, a fish and chips and beef pie and Guinness.
The price is fine, although it is high for the type of food.
Overall not bad, just not surprising.
(Original)

(Translated) Excellent Bangers & Mash. The best I've eaten here in Dublin. Simply excellent and unbeatable. My boyfriend ordered a Beef & Guiness pie and rated it as good (he ate some better places elsewhere). For me the presentation of both dishes very good, the service excellent. Cozy place, if lighting and Guiness beer very well served. For dessert we ordered a brownie and it was ok. The best sausage of the Bangers and Mash! Wonderful

Excelente Bangers & Mash. Maravillosa

(Translated) I was here a week ago: great food, great music, attentive and friendly staff, friendly Irish atmosphere and finally, absolutely honest prices: what to ask for? Dublin is full of pubs, and for the short time available unfortunately you can't try them all, but this is really worth it!
I was there just a week ago: delicious food, good music, kind and friendly staff, good prices: what else could we ask for? Dublin is full of pubs, impossible to enjoy all but the Sheehan's worths a visit! love Dublin, I'll come back!

I was there just a week ago: delicious food, good music, kind and friendly staff, good prices: what else could we ask for? Dublin is full of pubs, impossible to enjoy them all but surely the Sheehan's worths a visit! love Dublin, I'll come back!

(Translated) Pub-restaurant. Valid for both a pint and a meal. The typical Irish stew was pretty good and in good quantity. The magnificent attention and, as is usual in Dublin, an unbeatable decoration and atmosphere of the place. To top it off, Irish coffee, despite being a bit expensive, is spectacular. I recommend the place without a doubt.

Pub-restaurante.

(Translated) Like a tourist, I ordered a pie. As you can see in the review, the tender meat is rumbling! I feel like I ate almost meat with almost no carrots in it.
It was cold so my body warmed up and it was really delicious! I am satisfied with the taste, quality and price. The clerk's friendliness is good, and it's not as loose as a famous pub, so it's recommended for those who want to calm down and eat. (I went in the daytime so I don't know the night)
