Reviews of Swan Bar
Beautiful Guinness. That's enough for me. Really friendly staff and an excellent explanation of the political past of the area. A must drop in.
In for the rugby 🏉 really well run pub 👌 and so friendly , pizza 🍕 if ur hungry. Staff are lovely
Nice little pub, good atmosphere and friendly staff
Cozy traditional pub in the centre of Dublin. Friendly staff and a good selection of larger and of course a cracking Guinness.
Great rugby 🏉 pub, great Guinness and great atmosphere!
A proper traditional pub with good service and selection of beers.
I was yesterday evening. All doors open very cold inside at 8-9pm. I ordered a margarita pizza, it was not good.
They are asking for the covid vaccine certificate and check it before you enter
Great example of a traditional Dublin pub, unchanged for decades, famous for its pint of Guinness
Great Guinness, relaxed atmosphere, good service.
A not so secret gem of Dublin. Glad the good craic in Dublin is back
I just love it there .. they treat their regular better than family ❤️ love them!
A real oasis in town. Great boozer
Lovely staff, tasty drinks and clean bar. Very welcoming.
Back to basics. Excellent value. Wonderful staff. Was here 5 days in a row for quick lunch for 6 ladies.
First day walking in at 1300 the place was very quiet. We stayed and each ordered soup and or a sandwich. The odd bag of crisps. No alcohol just tap water we were working.
Best price in city centre.
Soup was hot. tasty and even smelled good.
Sandwiches were home made on amazing bread.
Very simple menu. Excellent quality.
Will stop by again.
Sorry no photo. Everyday food arrived it looked so good we ate it and forgot the photo part.
Nice traditional and authentic bar. Good service and very reasonable price.
Probably just because of Covid restrictions. Seemed a bit dead. I'll go again when the restrictions are lifted
Very easy going place to enjoy a pint with locals. Not many tourists or not at all. I've been a couple of times with my colleagues and it's very good price for pints. I love that we can bring food from outside so don't worry if you see pizzas around just go to apace or other food places around and take a pint here for a great dinner. Very nice! A good way to get a little view of the Irish life.
Love this place! Great local pub with super friendly staff. After arriving on a late flight into Dublin I stopped by here. The kitchen was closed but the staff allowed me to buy a pizza from down the street, come back and eat it in the bar with our pints. Great customer service!
Beautiful old Victorian with a nice selection of beers.
Pleasant old school pub on the edge of the city centre. I had an open fire which feels wonderfully welcoming on a cold day. Fast friendly service at the bar. Reasonable selection of mainly Irish beers. Recommended.
Great Guinness, love sitting outside and watching the world go by.
Great staff, loved the place.
Well, this was our first bar visit when we just land in Dublin (3 hours after landing) the beer selection on draught is very good the place wasn't full at all and the vibe was perfect for the first beer in the day it is impressive as tourist that bars are open at 11-12 o'clock. The owner is lovely. And the service was very good.
Great service, nice friendly staff
Great pub for a chat with friends. They don’t do food but lovely bar man recommended a good pizza place around the corner and said we were welcome to eat it in the bar.
It is a very busy spot and I have been told it does a very good Guinness 👍
Beautiful pint 👌 friendly staff 👌
Nice bar and friendly staff
It wasn't until recently (within the past 12-18 months), that I started going to the Swan. It's a great bar, I'm a big fan. You can get some craft beers along with all the big brand usuals. You might be able to get a toasted sandwich if you're not too late in. You can watch the sport on some TVs that are littered throughout the venue and they're not imposing, you could easily come here, have no interest in sport and get through the evening without being swamped by gigantic TVs that are in other pubs. Great spot all in all.
One of Dublins best! Great historic building with very tasty Guinness. The staff are excellent too - friendly and efficient. Highly recommended, especially for a rugby weekend!
its open its open yes its open
the owner Ronan is serving hot pizzas and a full bar service .
all outdoors with screens and tables.
enjoy a great pint at the Swans bar
The Swan on Aungier Street is a beautiful pub established in 1661. Reworked in 1897, it is now a wonderful homage to Victorian Ireland. A brilliant atmosphere and great staff. Highly recommended if you want a lovely atmosphere and chat!
Traditional Irish pub with rugby memorabilia. Clean, cosy atmosphere and a fire in the corner. Good for a quiet drink after work, or a few to watch the game at the weekend. Good selection of Irish beers and spirits.
Easy going, casual bar with a good mix of recognisable brand names and a few craft beers thrown in too. Grab a pizza around the corner at Dublin Pizza Co to go with your drink, they'll let you bring it in and have it there
could do with odd dusting, but nice staff and great trad music. good selection of traditional and craft beers etc. great coffee too and pleasant surroundings
Staff attire needs updsting
This was our last stop on foodie tour. Beautiful Victorian pub - had a shot of whiskey or you can gave a Guinness. Bartender was very nice & informative.
Cosy, good vibes and guinness!!
It's a nice old pub, with a ventilation system as old as the building. It can get a bit too humid and warm inside on crowded evenings. Be prepared to stand around with your drinks, the sitting area is suprisingly small.
Great Victorian style bar with 99% locals. They serve a decent pint of Guinness. One round table available to play cards.
Great pub, and not too crowded, even on a Saturday night. Friendly staff and a decent choice of draught beers & ciders. What more could you want?
Found this place by chance as we were staying close by, soooo glad we did. Spent just three days in Dublin and stopped in here probably 4 or 5 times! Everyone on staff was excellent, and we probably met them all. Lot of history in there, stop in
Great place to have a pint and a chat. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It's my favourite pub to go to the history of the place in interesting and it's a family run pub.
Really nice pub. With a great selection of beers on tap and the staff are very quick at serving.
Trending place. They love their sport especially rugby here
A quiet spot when we visited on a Mon evening. Very busy later in the week, with a wide array of Beers to choose from. Lovely Pub.
Big rugby pub with old Dublin charm. Staff are quick to get you a drink and the pub itself is clean. Nice crowd too.
What a pub, I love it. Very friendly great service, not expensive, very cosy with great carrictor and clean. What more can I say about this place. I visit as often as I can and I know I'm always welcome.
Great pub for an after work drinkie, clean jax and friendly staff. Well worth a go! Also, parking available in Whitefriar St car park which is moments away...they do close at 10.30 so bear that in mind if using that facility.
Old-school Aungier Street Victorian pub, lots of seating, great staff, luscious Guinness. One of Dublin's finest.
One of the classic Victorian Dublin pubs. Iconic and full of real history. Still family run and has a wonderful local feel.
Quintessential Dublin pub with nothing contrived or forced about the place. Understated sports bar. Great place for GAA, rugby or football.
went here for a few pints of a Saturday night...had a laugh. wasn't waiting long to get served every time which is great for a packed pub....proper barmen!!
My favourite pub in Dublin. Old style ,unobtrusive television ,atmospheric and it has a nice mix of locals and non locals.
Had a great night here last Saturday night 12th Oct....we sat at the bar and had a great night having the chats with the barmen....all the staff were so friendly ....Will most definately go back again
Great local Irish pub .a great place for a quiet pint , a get together, great atmosphere excellent staff. Good range of beers
Great pub. Good selection of beers. Friendly staff. Very clean.
Loved this place. Excellent whiskey selection and not too loud so you can have a conversation. Staff were friendly too!
Our favorite bar in Dublin- best staff and service and a great place to watch rugby.
A wonderful interior of a traditional Irish in Victorian funny bar wonderful staff good high standards and toilets and all overall a very good place to visit for tourism and also for over the years making films in Ireland in the bar
Best pub in Dublin for informal chats, staff are top drawer and Guinness as consistent as it gets.
A true Dublin gem, a great place for meeting friends. Traditional music is wonderful and a lovely atmosphere.
One of the pints of Guinness in Dublin
Great old school boozer with charming staff
A old victorian pub with a lot of character. Family run and feels every inch an Irish watering hole! Definitely a place for a pint.
Great locals spot. Away from the main part of town and the better for it...skip next door to Dublin Pizza Company if you get the munchies!
It is a nice cosy pub with a fireplace and a great pint of Guinness. Well worth a visit
I love this pub great atmosphere and I'm going to go to the trad session on Sunday evening 6-9 soon. Beidh mé ar ais
Great place for a nice pint and chat. Not noisy and great atmosphere. Pricey but worth it.
Interesting PUB with a great Guinness and great vibe for watching Rugby matches. The only downside is the small TVs, which might limit your location at the place.
Nice people at the bar. Went here with good friends and had a good time with good deals as part of a pub crawl.
Lovely relaxing pub. Nice big fire going. Staff efficient and friendly
Back to basics. Excellent value. Wonderful staff. Was here 5 days in a row for quick lunch for 6 ladies.

It's a decent bar on this side of the city. Usually a great atmosphere here and friendly locals!

Great pub for an auld fellas pint of Guinness or a crafty 5 Lamps
AFTER LIGHTING A FEW CANDLES AND WHISPERING A FEW PRAYERS IN WHITEFRIARS STREET CHURCH I CROSSED THE ROAD AND PROMPTLY ENTERED THE PUB THE SWAN BAR. THERE I'S HARDLY ANY ACTION MORE IRISH ' THAN THIS ONE, TWO. THE MINUTE I STEPPED OUT OF.THE L STREETS BRIHHTNESS INTO THE SWAN BARS LOW LIGHTING I FELT AT HOME. THE BAR WAS MORE TJAN TWO THIRDS FULL, A MIXTURE OF LOCAL S AND VISITING.TOURIST. FOR MYSELF I HAD NOT BEEN IN YHIS CORNER PUB AT CUFFE ST. DUBLIN IN.YESRS MY DECEASED DA JOHN OFTEN DROPPED INTO.THIS PUB FOR A PINT OF GUINNESS. AVE TODAY IRDER A BOTTLE OF SWEDISH CIDER AND A PACKET OF CRISPS 'THE BARMAN SERVING WAS PROMPT AND WHEN I ASKED US WERE THERE ANY POWER POINTS BESIDE TABLES FOR CUSTOMERS HE SSID NO BUT THAT HE COULD TAKE MY MOBILE AND CHARGE THE PHINE BEHIND THE COUNTER. THE PUNDITS DRINKING IN THE SWAN BAR ON THIS PARTICULAR EARLY EVENING WERE A MIXED BUNCH ( WHICH AVE THE RAVE REVIEWER LIKES A LOT ) I SAT WITH MY SWEET CIDER AND CRISPS AROUND THE FRONT COUNTER.A GROUP OF HANDSOME MEN SAT OPPOSITE ME DISCUSSING THE RUGBY MATCH WHICH WAS SHOWING ON THE TV SCREEN IN THE COUNTER. THREE WOMEN WITH TWO YOUNG CHILDREN WERE LEAVING AS TIME WAS GETTING LAT E FOR KIDS TO BE ON THE PUB PREMISIE. I.DRANK MY CIDER, MUNCHED ONY CRISPS AND READ PART OF MY EVENING PAPER THERE IN THE SWAN BAR IN A LOVELY HOMELY ATHMOSPHERE. WHEN THE BARMAN CAME BACK.TO ME WITH MY CHARGED UP MOBILE PHONE AND GAVE HIM A TIP BUT HE WOULD NOT TAKE IT FROM ME ! TALK ABOUT QUIET FRIENDLY SERVICE ! I SPOKE WITH.A MAN STANDING DRINKING AT THE BAR COUNTER. WE HAD A GOOD AUL ABOUT LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB . THE MAIN FESTURE WITH REGARD S TO THE INTERIOR DECOR OF YHE SWAN BAR US THE AMOUNT OF LOVELY PANNELLED WOOD AROUND THE PUB. THERE ARE WOODEN BARRELS USED AS TABLES.HERE AND THERE AS WELL.AS LOWER TABLES. THE PINT OF GUINESS I'S PROPERLY DRAWN AND LEFT WAITING TO SETTLE . IF YOU LIKE GIN THEY OFFER A GOOD LIST OF MAKERS. THOUGH THIS PIBLIC HOUSE DATES BACK VERY FAR AND HAS BEEN REFURBISHED IT HAS BEEN DONE SO WELL THAT THE CHARACTER OF AN OLD PUB REMAINS HERE IN TACT. IF I HADN'T TEXTED THIS LONG REVIEW MY ONE SENTENCE OF PRAISE WOULD READ THE SWAN BAR I AT WHITEFRIARS STREET / CUFFE STREET I'S A DUBLIN GEM . . .
The original of the species 😉 charming staff serving good pots of tea, pints & sambos with tons of chat and cheer 🦆🕊

Tuesday night staple! The staff are great and very much attentive and friendly! Always have the football on .... Great spot
One of the best pubs I've been to while in Dublin. It doesn't have the same atmosphere as Temple Bar. Sometimes it's quiet and sometimes there's no room to move. Feels like an old seolleongtang restaurant! In fact, it is a pub with over 300 years of history. Recommended if you want a real Dublin pub.
(Translated) Nice whiskey and a nice story. Came from his heart
(Original)
Lekker whiskey en een mooi verhaal. Kwam uit zijn hart
Typical Irish pub, good beer and typical Dublin food.
Friendly place. Good painting. I loved the place. I work near there and I noticed that it is busy every day. Today was my day to visit it and it was really cool because yesterday, after 91 years on Good Friday, the law that did not allow the sale of drinks on that date was revoked. The place is equipped with TVs always playing sports. It has a fireplace and is very clean and has pleasant service. I recommend.
The most typical pub in Dublin.
Nice location, the bartenders are super friendly! However, relatively expensive for a student: Guinness €5.80 Gintonic: €9.40
(Translated) Very good and the staff very friendly it is the first pub in Dublin that they have put us coffee and a drink and they have charged us when we left as in Spain
