M. T.We enjoyed fish and chips here as well as a fresh and healthy burger. Lovely chunky chips and did cooked well. Service also good but setting / standard not quite special enough for five stars. A good quality provider of pub food.
B. L. L.Superb steak: very well seasoned with a tasty sauce and sides. The desserts are to live for! Warm brownie with ice cream had the perfect balance of temperature and flavour. White chocolate one was also delicious, nice contrast to the passion fruit sorbet. Cosy atmosphere and good service. Staff asked for vaccination certificate from both my husband and I, which was also a plus for us.

T. L.We have been going to JP Clarkes for over 10 years. It has always been consistent. Work function, parties or just for a meal it's always been excellent. Stand out was 3 years ago my partner and inlaws were stuck at the bus stop when a storm hit, the staff came across with umbrellas offering to help them with luggage into shelter while I went to pick them up.

m. d.After the hype of JP Clarks I unfortunately was disappointed. The standard of food needs to be raised a level ( or 2!) I had the sea bass, bisque & prawns cannelloni main. The prawn cannelloni was rubbery and lacked sufficient flavour to give a wow factor. 1 battered deep fried prawn is just sad on the plate. Thankfully I got both fillets of the sea bass. I don't think I had a sufficiently satisfactory foodie experience to go back again. Yet the 1 plus is that the staff were excellent in every way, polite, mannerly & efficient.

R. B.Disclaimer, we went in biased as we were all starving. I would have probably eaten a sod of turf if presented with it. The only thing an establishment can get wrong with patrons like this is to leave too long between seating - taking order - bringing food, and they didn't get this wrong!
Such a fantastic turnaround, I think we had food within 10 minutes of arriving and the staff were lovely throughout.
I had haddock with tartar sauce which was 10/10 for sauce, fish and chips. Chips were large size and cooked perfectly.
Wife had burger. "Good food". Very accommodating with the dessert too.
The only drawback is the bloody Covid forcing us to sit out in the rain but that is outside of the control of JP Clarke's. I reckon they are suffering everyday from it.

The only thing is it would be great if they had sanitiser on each table like in certain other restaurants nearby or placed on the way back from using loos & touching doors.. Missed their nice bread they used to serve serve but this may be due to covid safety.. Its a nice spot for a tasty casual bite.

Manager and a member of staff had their backs turned to us. I think they were planning about setting up for a party / group that were coming in later on. So they were working, but they should turn around. While I was waiting to pay the bill, a waiter dropped a piece of cutlery and put it back wit the clean cutlery. 😜
T. M.Met with a friend I'd not seen for some time. The ambience was welcoming and cozy. The food was exceptional as were the attentive waiting staff. Everything was spotless and even the exterior garden and flowers were immaculately tended to. I would rate our visit and experience as 'excellent'. Thank you for overall attention to detail. The food options are great, and everything is cooked and served to a high standard. The staff though, are probably some of the nicest and attentive staff I've come across! I'd highly recommend JP's!

Our food did arrive in a speedy manor but when we ordered another glass of wine it was a no show. We were never asked how our meals were let alone if we wanted anything more to drink. Very disappointing.

V. D.My Husband and I stopped here for lunch today,on arrival no clear indication outside which door to enter. No Temperature reading taken, no contact details taken. Floor marking in place & hand sanitizers available on door entry & on bar counter.
Staff very friendly, I don't think the lunch which was Salmon or Beef at 17 Euros was not value for money,a piece of Salmon,with one potato croquette,and about 2 to 3 spoons of green peas & some olive's chopped up with onions and sauce on the side. No potatoes or other vegetable served. While the food was very tasty. We were both disappointed with the Lunch we got for for 17 Euros, while the Starters specials of sea bass & trout were 11 Euros.
We have dined here on a numerous occasions,and had a lovely meal, but today we left disappointed.

J. G.We had a really unpleasant experience here. The staff treated us like air. We got seated upstairs and we waited for everything too long. After asking for the dessert menu noone appeared again. We went out after over a half hour of waiting. The food was good, but the service ruined it completely.

L. C.We spent a lovely week in Ireland in March 2018 and stumbled across JP Clarke's during our final evening. It turned out to be one of the best meals of our trip. The food was prepared just right and our bartender prepared special drinks that topped the trip off perfectly. Plus, the atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. Very Ireland but not noisy or too crowded. Just right! Highly recommend!!
