Nice old style pub and restaurant, conveniently located between James' fort and Kinsale town. Warm, rustic, welcoming atmosphere. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Had Sunday lunch. Good portions pub food. Quality was good, tasty fresh vegetables. Reasonably priced for the area.

Considering the exceptional circumstances that exist at the moment, I was very impressed that The Spaniard staff were able to provide such excellent food together with excellent service. The restaurant was very busy and the staff were under a lot of pressure to keep things moving, but they did. Despite ordering starters for both courses, my partner and I left well satisfied.

The Spaniard was in lock -down for a considerable period of time so it is great to see that it survived. Visited for some food and a drink, they have a good few outside tables, and we were seated at the end of the courtyard/passageway in what was a lovely 'suntrap'. The burgers are homemade and full of flavour. The portions of brie were huge. The Eton mess was the nicest I have tried. There was a minor issue with one of the drinks - but it was changed out with no trouble. The staff are professional yet very personable and very at ease. Highly recommend it and personally will be back to sample more from their extensive menu.

Loved the food here. For what you pay you get an excellent portion of food. I didn't have any room for dessert and I apparently have hollow legs. Quality of the food is really good as well. There is plenty of variety on the menu and the specials each day are definitely worth checking out. Staff were bubbly and very accommodating and constantly plying us with drinks and making sure we were happy. If I didn't want to try other restaurants I would definitely be coming back here. The place just has that warm, homely feel to it. It has endeared me to Ireland 👍🏾

We had a most pleasant experience from the moment Shona brought us into the restaurant and Pat was so helpful regarding the covid certificate. Between Marieanne and Shona we were looking after with such friendly conversation to the professional service. The meal itself was just fantastic crab claws and prawns with scampi to follow and more crab claws. To finish off we shared a love apple tart . I would highly recommend this restaurant and it was so nice to finally eat indoors.

Cosy, friendly staff. Check the hours they serve food or you could be caught out. Food was very generous. It's a bit dark inside, but this was also what made it feel cosy on a cold day. The only negative was a cold meats like smell and the jumpy DJing of music.

Just popped in for a pint of Guinness and met a regular who kept us entertained for over an hour with his stories about steam traction engines and his friend, the late Fred Dibner. The menu looked good so we will have lunch next time. You can't miss the pub. It's painted bright yellow!!

There's a reason The Spaniard has been around for so long. We have had good drinks and meals in both the restaurant and bar sections, and would try the outdoor seating as well if the weather allowed. They have accommodated us as a couple, a large group, or a family with a toddler. The seafood there is so fresh and prepared really well. The fish chowder is a must have, big chunks of fish in a lovely cream broth they made fresh for each order. It's the best chowder I've eaten, though I may be biased since it was experienced on a cold, rainy day by a warm fire in the bar section. I'll be going back to have it again just to be sure!

Went there about 2 months ago, just had to go back and see if it's as good as th first time! Yes equally or better. Their fish is so fresh, the young bearded weightier is so attentive. From the moment we walked in we could heat gut wrentching laughter, welcome service (not like we are an outsider), and delicious Seafood Chowder. My daughter, Bailey, and I loved the low beam ceilings and warm, old fashioned atmosphere. Highly recommend!

A fabulous little pub, with plentiful seating outside on sunny days and a lovely cozy atmosphere indoors when it is cold and raining. Worth the walk up the hill for the view over Kinsale alone but the food is decent too, the steak sandwich is particularly good. The small bar at the front is where you get a drink, the restaurant is the larger space out the back.

I've been visiting The Spaniard for more than 50 years. In the past it was owned by Peter Barry, the moving force behind Kinsale's food movement. Great spot for a pint, especially outside on a nice day. Do a good range of food, especially the steaks. Inside is really olde world.

A must go to pub in Kinsale, hasn't changed over the years . Long, narrow and dark inside, rough and old in style but cosy. Plenty of outdoor seating. Hot food served here. Small and basic toilet facilities, but clean. . Lovely coastal walks. nearby. Hairpin corner around the pub, care needed crossing the road

Homemade and quality food. It is quite expensive but the great friendliness of the Spanish waitress more than made up for it... super friendly and attentive, she gave us very good advice on what to visit and we listened to her. It was a great success!!

Place divided between restaurant and pub, in the same building but in separate rooms. We were in the restaurant, we arrived late (for Irish standards) but they welcomed us and served us with availability and courtesy. There is a menu, but dishes of the day are also offered. After visiting Charles Fort, we looked for food around Kinsale. We tried a restaurant, but it was more than full and would have been too touristy, and fortunately because we were very well received at the Spaniard Inn which is more authentic (don't be fooled by its name and the exterior colors of the building ) The hamburgers are excellent, as are the fish'n chips, which are huge. A great time spent by the fire :)

Location close to the center, exquisite food, high price, but if there is a LOT of it, they are good enough to share a plate. My example was, a €15 hamburger (it seemed excessive to me at first), but when I saw the plate... MY MOTHER, what an incredible amount of food (and I eat a lot), and the quality of the food was EXCELLENT. The place is very clean and with atmosphere, I would definitely repeat!

Amazing restaurant. Delicious food, generous portions, smiling and friendly staff. We were there on 12 July 2019 to celebrate my husband's anniversary. The waitress who served us made our holiday even more exciting. Unfortunately, we didn't get her name, but we thank her from the bottom of our hearts for the pleasant surprise. I highly recommend The Spaniard Inn, it's really worth a visit.
