Iconic Pub and Location at Skryne looking over to the Hill of Tara. Pub was closed at lunchtime (probably due to Covid-19) but the views were lovely.

A pub full of character. They have added a lovely beer garden with some shelter against the elements.

What A place. I have been away from Ireland for along time but a pub like this is Ireland in a nutshell and so worth a visit. I love it.

An absolute must visit for those wishing to experience a traditional Irish pub. A short trip from Dublin and within a stone's throw of Tara.

This is a fantastic little pub that everyone should visit at least once in their lives. It has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and a perfect pint of Guinness. The staff are friendly and chatty. There is tables outside and beautiful views of the countryside. It's a perfect place to stop off for a few pints. The whole experience was excellent. I can't wait to go back!

The is a down to earth Irish bar/pub located in Skreen area in Co. Meath.
It has a old fashion type quaint atmosphere with simplicity at it heart.
No TV's are in the pub to distract customers from having a good time and socialising properly. There was no live music the nights I have have drank there, which was different but in a way was nice, as it ment you could have good conversation without the burden of hearing what people say or listening to a story or conversation. But i wouldn't imagine the bar would have any problem with someone who was good at playing a instrument and creating a pub spark up some good light hearted trad sing along music.
The toilets are actually outside of the main pub, which in a way is good as you don't have people constantly pushing through the bar to get to the toilets in the corner, especially since its quite a small bar anyways.
This bar have a number of beers for selection as well as a lot of standard drinks and wine which are expected of a any bar of these days. But James O'Connell pub is probably know for the pouring the best Guinness in the county, if not the country.
Thia place is definitely not your classy modern day bar, but is a humble Irish bar with simplicity at it roots. This place is great for any tourist looking to get a feel for what a true Irish bar is truely like.
Would highly recommend if you are looking for a different quiet night out, with no distractions. Slainte! 🍻
