Excellent food with lots of choices. Very reasonable price. Service is very good, staff very welcoming. Lots of outdoor seating area with excellent view of the bay. There are seagulls around but they haven’t tried to rob our food, just looking at our food 😂 Came here two days in a row for lunch. The chickpeas with spices are really spicy but taste good. If your spice tolerance isn’t high then maybe not for you, otherwise highly recommended. The soup and sandwiches are also excellent. Dessert portion is big!

A lovely place for a great open faced crab sandwich and a cup of tea. The staff were warm and friendly. Loved the decor.

Reaaly good homely environment. Open first, great sandwiches and soup and desert. All good prices. Lovely spot on a summers day or a wet muggy foggy day for comfort food.
K. M.
Stopped for a coffee here (Thank god it was open-not much open this time of year). Great service, amazing views ..will be back for lunch someday
D. M. C.
One of my favourite spots in the country! Chowder, a toasted special and a pint of Murphy’s for lunch set us up for the afternoon. Good service and quality food (and pints!). Looking forward to the next visit already.

Love this place. We were in West Cork staying in Schull for a week. Weather wasn't great so we went out for lunch a lot! O Sullivans is a perfect rainy day place for lunch. Particular faves was the seafood chowder, the basket of shrimp and the bread and butter pudding. Lovely staff, very welcoming. Highly recommended.

Nice traditional Irish pub. Has bar food and soups etc on offer and of course delicious pints of dark beer and ale. Views are amazing and plenty space to sit inside or out. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. There is also a small convenience shop attached to the bar. Parking can be tricky here especially if sailing club has sessions on. Kids love to jump from the pier head right outside the door to cool down. Come visit at any weather and you will not regret it.

Always a lovely spot for some lunch. Open crab sandwich is lovely....just seemed to be lacking in flavour this time round. Plenty of outdoor seating and well arranged and spaced out. Staff friendly and attentive. There is a modified container with a couple of tables inside should it rain but were lucky enough to have sunshine on his occasion. Plenty for all tastes on the menu
J. B.
Nice location and nice service. Sadly my open crab sandwich was served in a plastic container (cut on your plastic waste please) and it was accompanied by a sad looking unfresh salad clearly taken out of a supermarket salad bag. This place does not cater for vegans and vegetarians currently. Good pint of Murphys though

Last bar before America! At the end of the road in beautiful Crookhaven cove.. great pint of Guinness and super open crab sandwich as yoy sit by the ocean: it doesn't get much better!
R. B.
Very busy on a warm Monday afternoon, plenty of outdoor tables which is great with the covid restrictions and we managed to get one. Nice sandwiches and the scone was gorgeous! The view is great too. Calming place to sit and fuel up.
K. F.
Very pleasant place, interesting marine architecture, cosy fire, very tasty food and the staff is super nice! I would recommend to stop there if around the area! Plenty of history and infirmation on the walls and the harbour looks beautiful too. Ps. The water has a beautiful colour even on a gray day. Also worth noting, that Mizen Head itself might not be the most southerly point of Ireland, but Brow Head near Crookhaven is.
P. C.
The location is beautiful but as i live by its how people make you feel so welcoming owners a gent and a lady who make you feel at home great location great pub grub and company why its a 5 star in my eyes so pleased booking an overnight in November this year 🏠💞⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
J. K.
The day was sunny.. The food was quite good. The view was lovely.

I was here in November 2018 but forgot to leave a review until now. Had a lovely crab sandwich & pint of Murphy’s. My cousins were with me and said the chowder was delicious. Beautiful pub overlooking the water & comforting ambience inside.
V. M.
The nicest biggest crab sandwich for just €9
R.
The best pub in Ireland. The Guinness and crab sandwiches are superb. The staff are excellent. The views are perfect while you enjoy a pint and some great food. Really couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Wonderful. On a sunny day just terrific. Quite a tourist friendly place, many people go here for peace and quiet but also to soak in the beautiful atmosphere in this lovely, charming place. Could not recommend any more highly. Just fantastic.

I have been going here with my family since I was a baby and I'll always return. Great food, great drink, great location and great staff. Anybody in the area shluld definitely go.

My grandparents used to go here in the 70s and it's just as good today. Love this place, exceptional.
J. K.
Covid times so seated outside and can't comment on indoor decor, cleanliness or toilets ... but ... food was delicious, views of pontoon lovely, service prompt, lots of young people employed as waiters and doing a great job at offering a warm welcome 🙌
a.
nice and friendly, good toasted special, but i think the chimney needs a clean as it was very smokey
A. K.
Had a lovely meal there and the staff very friendly and heloful
J. K.

I. C.
Ideal location. Sat on picnic tables by the water and enjoyed our pints. Had a decent crab sandwich. Kids enjoyed their sandwiches. Friendly servers.
P. R.
Stopped briefly for a drink. All outdoor table service. Staff seemed to be coping well. People at tables distanced and observing rules. Friendly atmosphere.
J. O. D.
Great atmosphere and great staff. Really enjoyable evening there. Thanks
B. O.
Had been looking forward to some of your delicious seafood chowder. According to online information, your hours for Monday are stated as 10:30 am opening until 11:00 pm closing. I was extremely disappointed when I arrived today to find you were closed.
Please, for the sake of everyone, update your hours.

Great bar & restaurant, excellent drinks and great food. Very friendly staff and most efficient service. A must visit when in West Cork. 10 out of 10.
D. O. M.
Fab pub. Location beautiful. Like a little village at the end of the world..o
J. W.
Really great tables by the water. The food was priced really well and tasted pretty well.
T. O.
Such an institution. No Mizen hike is complete without dropping in here on the way home.
A. M.
After a few days in Goleen and Crook the well is full again. No better spot in Ireland.
g. c.
Great food, great location, great experience. Highly recommend.
D. C.
Beautiful surrounding area, couple running the bar are soo nice and very funny
p.
Great ham and cheese toasted sandwich. Have to have the Murphy's. Apple and rhubarb crumble was tasty.
L. N.
A great selection of homemade sandwiches and puddings. Tasty homemade soup too. Highly recommended for a bite to eat in beautiful surroundings.
C. E.
Stopped for a coffee (have a beer or tea instead, unless you like good ol' French press). Very relaxing area where time seems to have stopped. Food smelled good too.
A. B.
Fabulous quayside restaurant - chowder and open crab sandwich were delicious
c. c.
We stopped off in Crookhaven on the way to Mizen Head and on seeing this busy restaurant with lots of tables along the harbour front decided to have some lunch. The food, lots of freshly caught local seafood, was excellent. The portions were generous and service was prompt. Clear skies and sunshine, something you don't always get in the middle of September in Ireland, made the setting perfect. Another bonus is that the prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be back.
D. D.
Lovely chowder and amazing open crab sandwich
D. D.
Lovely pub, great location and atmosphere
F. N.
Amazing food.....amazing staff
You will wait a while for the food to arrive but its worth the wait !
T. O.
Stopped by this bar by chance yesterday. Beautiful location, good outdoor service by friendly staff, great atmosphere. Really enjoyed our visit
G. M.
When I discovered this place by accident I thought I was in a dream where the service was perfect, the food was brilliantly woven into the pub / sea atmosphere, and every customer seemed as happy as I was to be there. Bit of a drive there no matter where you start from, but it is worth it.
T. M.
Delicious food. Good service. Parking can be a bit tricky.
S. E.
Lovely spot for lunch after Mizen Head or Three Castle Head. The closed fresh crab and smoked salmon sandwiches were very tasty and the service was friendly. The pub has a relaxing setting and is a nice place to watch the world go by.
N. K.
Lovely pub and setting. But the food was only ok in my one experience.
K. O. C. (.
Great pint of Murphys with an even better view. Will always return for a pint when I'm in the area!
g. o. n.
Great place to have a drink outside on a sunny day
R. G.
Sunny day, tide incoming,
We are on our bicycles and sat in the sun on one of the picnic tables. Bowls of shrimp, crab sandwiches with pints of Beamish or Murphys stout. What a delightful way to spend the afternoon. The highlight of our holiday 🙂
M. C.
Lovely spot for a bite to eat & a drink.
T. O.
Very nice. Cheerful staff and customers. Really like the hugh mural outside on the side of the pub.
C. B.
It's just a really special place, with perfectly simple food, brilliant service & the view is not bad either!
P. O.
This is our favourite pub in Ireland. Great location, lovely food which is reasonably priced. You really feel like you are on the edge of the world sitting by the harbour watching various boats sail in and out. The staff are lovely and they welcome dogs. That says it all about their welcoming nature. Even the drive out there is spectacular with beautiful beaches and coves along the way. Mizen is a short drive away. I'm glad it sits on the southern tip of our beautiful country because it means it is rarely overcrowded outside of peak times. Thank you for many happy memories over the years for us and our lab.
K. &. N. M.
Beautiful meal served by great staff. Most enjoyable.
M. M.
Amazing place for a drink. Lovely staff and stunning setting. Will be back.
S. C.
Mark, Owen and Jake! Well! I’ve just had dinner here..obviously fantastic but the constant good and friendly service during this weird(COVID) time makes eating and drinking here feel really normal!
Now I’ve just realized why I keep coming back here! Thank you :)
A. S.
This pub is an institution ... don't forget to eat their famous crab sandwich.
R. D.
A great pub in a picturesque location. The chowder was very tasty and the sandwiches were good too. The Guinness was excellent. However there seemed to be quite a few flies about, probably not the fault of the pub.
M. M.
Really tasty food, I had the Chowder and a closed crab sandwich and both were delicious. Their prices are really reasonable and the staff are really helpful and friendly......and a really beautiful location.!!!
Great place
M. O.
Always a pleasure to visit and the food is fantastic. Always a friendly welcome.
A. R.
Nice spot overlooking Crookhaven. Excellent service, friendly staff.
T. A.
This is the pub in the heart of the Crookhaven community, beautifully located on the main pier with stunning views over the water and plentiful outside seating. Their crab sandwich (I'd recommend the closed one) is unbelievably tasty and washed down with a Murphy's becomes a quintessential experience of the area. The landlord is really sound, kind to tourists and locals alike, but also won't put up with any nonsense making it feel like a safe space for families. The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly too, all round couldn't recommend it enough!
I. M.
Open crab sandwich was sensational. It was overwhelmingly busy as there are not many options for lunch in Crookhaven and there is not a system in place for seating, so basically whoever sees an empty seat first should better run and fight for it lol
G. V.
Lovely friendly staff, lovely seats out front with beautiful views of the harbour and surrounding areas
R. R.
Was there 15 years ago a couple of times and made sure I went again 2 weeks ago. It was wonderful then and every bit as good now. Unfortunately for our party, but not for the bar, more people have discovered O'Sullivans so it has lost a bit of its relaxed atmosphere. But the popularity has not taken a bit away from its friendly character and good food and drink or from its most personable proprietor. Well done.
V. L.
Open sambo a must, shows all west cork beauty
O. D.
Amazing fresh prawns. Wonderful food, well stocked bar, friendly and welcoming environment. Iwner/barmaid treats you like family. Amazing views of the Bay, great all yeah round.
Z. W.
A unique and special pub. Real heart found at the very foot of Ireland. The setting is just beautiful and is matched by the true Irish hospitality. The bar food is hearty for a comfortable lunch to be washed down by an impeccable pint of Guinness.
V. S.
Harbor side bar with great open face sandwiches
D. E.
Great place. Great Murphys,Beamish and Guinness.Food out of this world. Warm, friendly service everytime. Great atmosphere too with a mix of locals and holidaymakers. One of the best pubs in the world.
A. M.
Lovely location super friendly staff and lovely food. I had fish chowder and toastie. The crab they have is also amazing.
l. s.
Absolutely beautiful place..seafood chowder was the best and a gorgeous glass of Murphy's..we will b back
C. H.
Linda and Dermot are lovely. Their food is been "The best in Ireland" for 10 years (and it is true). The location is amazing and the pub is very nice. It is like a warm and comfortable living room to share with friends, degusting "the southest pint in Ireland"
O. M.
Loved the chowder 😍 also amazing view
M. H.
Best food we've found in Ireland. Have traveled to Dublin, Limerick, Killarney and many burgs in between. The carrot cake is simply the best any of us have tried, anywhere, and second isn't even close. Crab sandwich and ham and cheese were exceptional. Prices are low compared to other places we've been and the food was twice as good. Exceptionally fresh.
A. A.
Visiting O'Sullivan's Bar in Crookhaven inevitably means a bit of a wait after ordering your food. Don't worry. This is a place to relax & sea watch with a drink conveniently at your elbow. Hubby & I ordered the Fresh Salmon & Crab Open Sandwiches respectively. The notion was that we'd share! Don't you believe it - we just couldn't. Impeccable fresh fish meat on fresh homemade brown bread with a simple side salad. A veritable feast accompanied by superlative coffee. Dessert had to be declined but I saw plenty enjoying Apple crumble & Bread & Butter Pudding. It's a trek from home to Crookhaven but worth every mile or kilometre. Stop on the way back & read about Marconi near Brow Head.
E. O.
Amazing as always. Guinness is a must !
M. L.
Outstanding. The best open crab sandwich you can get, washed down with a pint of Murphy's. Will come again 😀
F. C.

Heaven on earth what a beautiful place to visit sitting by the water edge with food and drinks delivered to your table this is not an upper crust type of place but one that has all walks of life visiting to me even though people around it felt like I was alone and no cares or worries just a blank mind a peacefulness I haven't felt before so glad I put it on my to-do list well worth the visit
C. N.

R. H.
Beautiful setting but the food is not up to standard. Recommend for a drink but avoid the food.
B. W.
Unbeatable views. You're not going to happen on Crookhaven. You need to know where you're going but worth the drive (or sail, as it is a harbour). It's known locally as Billy's.
S. D.
Typical Irish pub in rural area, friendly stuff and guests. Tasty food served. Garden is beautiful.

(Translated) Crookhaven is a small village in a sheltered bay with a long history. Once a pirate's nest until the Dutch were fed up with the event, it was later the last supply stop before ships ventured to America. Today the location has fewer than one hundred inhabitants with strong growth in the summer months. We came along because our B&B host had cataloged the local crab sandwiches as the best in the area. Made with local caught crab. You couldn't find fresher or richer anywhere else. And although we have of course not visited every possible scratch location, after the visit to Crookhaven we absolutely want to believe this. They were delicious. Just like the sea chowder, by the way.

(Translated) My favorite pub in Ireland. The food is delicious, the best ham and cheese sandwich I have ever eaten. Also great is the open crab sandwich. If they are in season, ask for the breaded prawns, these are delicious. The place is cozy and beautiful.

(Translated) Great welcome in French. Really typical, nice and well located, facing the sea, at the end of the road. The beer is good and the advice is safe, the fresh crab sandwich is excellent, do not hesitate to taste ... It's very good and very fresh. A beautiful stage where you will find human warmth and something to reinvigorate when the weather is not lenient. Thank you for this pleasant moment in this little corner of paradise.

(Translated) Delicious fish soup, great atmosphere. I was in the summer, the weather was good, I was sitting outside, so the views of the bay were great, unfortunately I did not come to the shrimp fishing season and I could not include the dish that this place is famous for, but the staff made up for this inconvenience, it was very nice.
