This is lovely restaurant. Our covid certs were checked and we were seated. Food was lovely. Fresh hot and tasty. Staff here really nice too. My only complaint was that I felt that there were a lot of people in the restaurant, there was no distance between tables.

ll colosseo is one of the finest Italian restaurant located in athlone town. It is a cozy place that provides authentic Italian food. They have a wine and food menus separately with vegetarian options. The ambience is good and it is good for friends to hangout. They also have a bar inside the restaurant. I would recommend people to try out, if you are looking for a good Italian restaurant.

Nice array of food on the menu to choose from. If you choose to be seated upstairs there is an open spotlessly clean kitchen and lived seeing all the wonderful dishes that they had prepared. Staff were friendly and courteous. I would have appreciated a few more check ins perhaps as I was rather thirsty and drank everyone else's water haha but other that perfection!

Amazing food. I think the best risotto I have ever tasted, not too rich, perfectly flavoured. The children's meal also got a rare double thumbs up. Staff were lovely. Very nice decor. We didn't leave enough room for dessert so going back tomorrow. A very authentic Italian dining experience, well worth a visit and even a detour.

We booked a place here for dinner last minute after arriving in Athlone for a two night stay. The food was delicious - proper Italian food. The portions sizes were huge and everything was very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend eating here if you are in Athlone

Quality food with great service from experienced staff who are delivering a great dining experience. For me this this restaurant is my favourite place in the town to eat. Every time I'm in town I eat here, there's no better recommendation I can give.

To start the food is amazing ( clearly some talented chef's in the kitchen ) a good choice of varied dishes on the menu to which you can tell contain carefully sourced ingredients. The restaurant is modern and comfortable and of a high quality . My only small criticism is the abruptness of the waiting staff you are not made to feel welcome more of an inconvenience which I found a shame as I would of liked to give the establishment 5 stars but unfortunately this prevented me from doing so.

Delicious food and good service! 👍😊 But at the end of the night when we received the bill, we placed the money on the tray including a tip of €30. The last person at our table had only put his share of the bill down on the plate, when one of the waiters (with white hair) walked quickly over, snapped it off the table and went away with it. I thought that this was rude of him the way he done it! He never came back to ask us if we wanted change from the over-paid bill, or to thank us for the tip!! 😮 Manners go a long way, ll colosseo!!!

Absolute quality and probably the best Italian restaurant in Athlone. Food was superb and you are looked after as soon as you enter the premises. For a Sat night and no booking made they made it possible to arrange a table for us considering they where very busy at the time.

Hiding up an unassuming flight of stairs is this gem of a restaurant. Fully authentic Italian with all Italian staff. The food is wonderful and the service excellent too. The staff don't stop going all night and are very attentive and friendly. Its not cheap but worth every penny. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next night and they cooked my wife's favourite dish to order. Perfection! This gets busy so pre-booking is advisable.

It was an okay spot. It is not a high end restaurant and the food prices reflect that. You can have a dinner for two with wine for about 50 to 60 Euros. The service is okay and the lads there are really nice.

This place is another WOW. The food was excellent, really well presented. If you like fish, try the Suppe de Pesce, you will not be disappointed. Good Wines too. The Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We went on a Wednesday and there were people queuing up. You need to book well in advance if you want to go at the weekend.

This is a favourite restaurant for many in Athlone ... Good selection on menu and reasonably priced too. Staff are friendly and helpful. You can bring your own wine with a small charge for corkage and you can order drinks from bar downstairs. It gets very busy at weekends so booking is advisable .

We Visited this lovely place in May of 19 while on a cruise on the shannon, on a lovely sunny sunday ,we were seated outdoors on the balcony and the food was 5 star ,beer was cold and the staff could not have been more helpful and very kind,highly recommend and will return in future .

It was our first time in Il Colosseo and were recommended by a friend to try it. We had no reservation and even though they were very busy, they managed to accommodate us very well. My Fiance is gluten intolerant and this was no issue at all for Il Colosseo. We had starters, main and desert. All absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend.

Our Family goes to Il colosseo every time we have something to celebrate. This time was no different. We're used to very quick service there. Unfortunately there was a bit of waiting the last time we were there. I'd advise on busy nights to forgo the starters so you don't have an additional 20 minutes wait for your main. We still love il colosseo and understand that some nights are just busy. The staff were very nice and attentive.
