S. L.Pleasantly surprised to see a Malaysian fusion restaurant in this little town. Food was pretty good, a bit anglocized for my liking..
was expecting a hotpot when I ordered the beef hotpot but it was nothing like a hotpot (nonetheless still quite tasty though!)
duck curry ramen was nice, again was looking forward to a pipping hot broth but it was more gravy like… maybe locals like it that way 🤷♀️

A. L.Amazing place!! We ordered soups and some japanese rolls for takeaway and they were soooo good! We came back next day for lunch, sadly sushi shef was off but there were dozens of other delicious dishes, we left the restaurant full and happy, omg, I miss this place so much and we'll definitely come back again when we're in Athlone. The staff is so nice and friendly ^^ Thanks for being so awesome!

J. S.Amazing food!!! Take away only at the minute so can't wait to be dining in the actual restaurant. We enjoyed our delicious takeaway so much, each dish was piping hot and came in clever specific containers... The ramen was to die for and everything was full of flavour would highly recommend!

We're a bit spoiled for good asian street food in Galway with PapaRich. This is better I'd say. Really great flavours and very tasty. Will be trying Julan Julan in Galway and hope to have it again on the regular.
j. w.Latest branch of the Jalan restaurant just opened in Athlone. And it's just as good as all the others. Same great standard of Asian food with a few new additions. Like the space, it's very colourful and comfortable and feels like I could spend a nice time there without being rushed. Try the squid rings, they were delicious.

I highly recommend this restaurant to those that can't make up their mind, oh and we had our 2yr old daughter with us, first time in a long time that we could relax over lunch.

P. B. E.Had a lovely lunch at Jalan Jalan today. Jalan means leisurely walking or walking without a precise destination. Basically that's what I did: I was walking around town and I saw the restaurant, the menu looked very attractive and reasonably priced. I ordered the vegetables spring rolls, the crispy roast duck and the hazelnut creme pyramid. Everything is cooked fresh from scratch and is inspired by Malaysian street food. Satay chicken is the most popular dish and I must say the crispy duck was excellent. Jalan Jalan in Athlone is building from the strong brand from the Galway restaurant and is already proving a hit after only two weeks from opening. Service is friendly and efficient, the decor is modern and vibrant; highly recommended.
