we stumbled upon it by chance. varied menu and good food. I would have given 5 stars but the lightness of the waitress in not reporting my food intolerance in the kitchen penalizes the vote. super the cook who was able to remedy.

Been here a few times and the staff are always very pleasant and attentive. The portions are very generous and food very good quality and decent prices. Surprised at the other negative reviews as I have been here 4 times since they reopened in June and always had a pleasant experience.

Food was good, staff were friendly and helpful although I had to go and get the condiments myself and a fork. But what took the biscuit for us was that they don't have a wine licence which is fine, they should just charge for corkage, But to bring us a bottle of Lidl wine (and I know it's Lidl wine because it's yellow label which we have bought,) And to charge us €€22.00 for a €4.69 bottle from Lidl I think is past taking the perverbial and is just insulting.

The restaurant is right next to the Athlone Castle and has a small but apt menu. The sandwiches were delicious and the portion is good.

What a wonderful place! Our server was friendly and efficient. We have a big family (7 kids between ages 6 months to 16 years old) and sometimes it's difficult to find something that everyone likes. Here, everyone found something to their taste. My daughter got the stew and absolutely loved it. My son-in-law got the chowder and I got the soup of the day, which was vegetable. Both were very flavorful. It was interesting to find that vegetable soup is different here in Ireland. In the US, it's a broth with chunks of veggies. Here, it's blended into a smooth soup. An additional point of interest is the pub next door is the oldest in Ireland- even made the Guinness world record.

Lovely food, awkward for parking but if on foot would be great location. I had the chefs stir fry, it had a nice kick to it and the kids goujons were very fresh and tasty. The burger is very filling with chips and salad. Reasonably priced. Good service. Right by the river

Was here last night and as always the food was delicious. So fresh and tasty and presented so well. My fish and chips was gorgeous and my friends pasta dish and vegetarian tartlet was fabulous. The place was packed and the staff here are so friendly professional and efficient! 3 courses for €21 is fantastic value too! Well done folks. Will be back again soon!

Excellent value for money. One of those non-touristy places where you can find an authentic atmosphere of a small town in Ireland. The salmon is very good.

Small restaurant right next to Athlone castle; you can also sit outside. Very nice atmosphere. Great food for a good price; almost all dishes are also vegetarian. Nice service. Fun fact: the beer is picked up fresh from the pub across the street.
