M. E. E.Food was fantastic. It was a bit cold. Could have done with some heaters. Smoking at the entrance not a very good idea. Older lady taking orders very friendly and efficient. Other staff could have done with some training in that regard. Very hard to get a table here as they don't answer the phone. The food will bring me back.
S. H.Very friendly staff- steak was ok- said medium to well & was quite pink in the middle. Got a small bowl of salad & 1 bowl of chips between 5 adults & a teenager. Had to ask for more chips- even then wasn't plenty- but didn't want to ask for more.

E. H.We went here for our 8th wedding anniversary meal. We were so looking forward to eating here as we hadn't been since before lockdown and food was always fab. So my husband got the chicken wings for starter and they were so over done, he was very disappointed. I got the veg soup, it wasn't on the menu but I asked and they had some, it was nice but a small portion. My husband got the T Bone steak which isn't cheap €32 he asked for it well done and the meat was still pink and definitely not well done. I got the chicken fajitas and they were the worst I've ever gotten, ONE wrap with lumps of spicy chicken thrown on top, no guacamole or sour cream on the side just sweet chilli and think there was a bit of salsa. The portion sizes are not what they used to be at all. The little bit of salad we were given between us and same with the chips. Won't be returning here in a hurry. Such a pity because this was one of my favourite places to eat, definitely gone down hill big time since reopening.

S. M.What a gem. Geraldine and Manfred have hit upon a winning formula. Steaks, burgers, bratwurst, all cooked to perfection. Wonderful location on the shores of Lough Ree. Just don't come here if you're in a big hurry, they don't take bookings. The wait is always worth it though!

A.You can't book a table, you just arrive and wait your turn to be seated. But you can have a drink at the bar to kill the time. There is a nice menu selection available. But the steak sandwich is delicious, and is served with a selection of sides and a freshly made salad.
D. M.How could you not give that steak a 5! Personally I come here just for steak, it's unreal. The setting is lovely on the lake and the place is relaxed. It's not the ritz but it's clean and cosy. If you're someone who is in a rush and demands Molly coddling over dinner then this isn't the place for you. It's generally packed, there is a wait and the food comes when it comes. So come go out, have some drinks and enjoy it! I can only rate the steaks as it's all I ever have but for me they are the best in Athlone!

i.The food is nice but no more diffrrent than anywhere else. Rediculous waiting times. And if you go outside who comes out to alert food is there or someone to take the orders? I here this is a feature of the chalets. It was very hot when there this day and literally broke a sweat tryimg to chew when there inside. The interior isnt stylish and 4 hours there. Was very nice once off experience but mental waiting to take orders. Mental. Especially when a table was booked. (Not me who booked it). Very noce for thise not used to the country great views!

A. D.They have excellent food but last visit was a disaster. We were waiting for a table for long time. We were told that there were many people waiting but we saw empty tables. Of course they could be reserved but those tables were empty all the time we sat there. So disappointing never going to come back.

C.A hideaway in the woods off the beaten tracks...you can smell the steaks being cooked in the kitchen as you walk in from the car..if its busy you can have a drink or two before a table is ready...but its worth the wait...the staff are friendly..its the place to be and to be seen!!!...I will be back!!
