There is now one reason to visit Athy; a town with a lot of potential, but way too many tracksuits. The Bay Tree was busy - always a good sign - and the staff were as lovely as the food.

OK scrambled egg on toast came with just one slice of toast and no butter so when you scrapped the egg off the bread to butter it it was soggy. Wouldn't be in a hurry back

Stopped in Athy and decided to get some lunch on a busy mother's Day. Delighted we came across this cafe. No reservation, no problem to the staff. Seated quickly and order taken, the staff were attentive throughout the meal. Beef for her, Salmon for me, the portions were plentiful and there were seasonal vegetables on offer. Got a great recommendation for dessert, berry roulade. It's hard to get a good recommendation from some restaurants as staff can be non committal. I think if they had a different decor it would bring it from a cafe feel to the next level as the food, staff and service are excellent. We even saw the chef come out and share a smile with the staff, I've rarely seen that in a restaurant. Keep it up!

Cracking little cafe bang in the middle of Athy. Great food, good selection of sandwiches and wraps. Obviously popular with locals which may explain why it was open whereas many of its competitors were not.

Was in Baytree for breakfast with family few weeks ago. Selection on menu was brilliant. Something different, not just the usual fry and a variety of healthy options!! Staff were lovely. Great value. Definitely will be back !!

It is the best place to eat in Athy by far. The daily deals are great and it caters for all of the family. All the staff are great too. Never waiting too long for the meal to be served would highly recommend to anyone passing by to drop in.

My wife got a takeout of wraps and goodies for a conference. Ate the leftover wraps this evening. OMG. Don't know what it's called, but it had chicken and ham in it, nicest wrap I've ever had. Fabulous.
