I'd always turned my nose up to this place in the past but forced in due to having a coeliac in our company and it has a (very impressive) GF menu. All the food was excellent, families can fit into little individual booths and the service was faultless. Great place.

This place is lovely for a bit of lunch a full meal or a coffee and cake. It is buzzing with people but not in an annoying way. its bright and clean. it has lots of windows so you can watch the world go by. The staff are helpful and cheerful.

Much better than expected. Always thought this place was a pretty poor - burger and chip place, but I tried it again recently and I was pleasantly surprised at its extensive and interesting menu. It bridges the gap very well between being a chipper and a gourmet restaurant. I like the way customers can see the chef's at work preparing their food. I must go again!

Work was very busy on Wednesday and I didn't have time to grab lunch. I had eaten a decent breakfast in this wonderful bistro pub in Galway earlier in the day but to be honest I was waning. Anyway, after work, a friend of mine and myself took it upon ourselves to drop some equipment up to a mutual friend in ballina. I had other business in the town so it worked out quite well. He drive up in his company car, a 430d BMW. It was a very comfortable drive and we stopped in a filling station in Castlebar for tea. To be honest the filling station tea was very hot and I wasnt able to drink it for a very long time. His car had two cup holders though so we could leave the tea cool while we drove up the road. There was some debate as to weather or not we should eat before doing the few jobs or get them out of the way. We had intended to eat in Castlebar but forgot about it with all the talk of filling station tea. I suppose we are very lucky that we got a genuine cup of Barry's, and while it was hot it was good tea. We stopped into the junction and said we would have something to keep us going. Initially we looked at the smaller side of the menu but my skipped lunch drove me to order a full plate. My friend had already ordered a smaller bite but you could see the regret on his face as soon as I put in for the full feed. I suppose there was an element of betrayal in the interaction as him ordering the small plate first set a social contact which I failed to follow. We didn't talk much over the food but once we had eaten our fill we were both happy enough. It's was a good thing we choose to eat first because the few jobs would go on to take a lot of the evening. My friend had the chicken filet roll and chips. I'm not sure if he enjoyed it or not as we wouldn't really talk about that kind of stuff, the conversation usually resting on work or mutual friends. He did eat the whole thing though. We did notice a building across the street at one point that had very small windows in the top floor. We agreed that it was probably for servents to a town house or cheap lodgings historically but these days they added a nice historic feel to the area. We stopped in town again later for another cup of tea for the drive back to Galway. It was nearly Castlebar before it had cooled down again.

good quality food, good service. i suggest you go with family, there's lollipops beside the register! Servings are pretty big, but it's no harm if you have a good appetite.

Fantastic place for real home cooking meals clean and staff are so friendly update as of 27th September today we had lunch as we do every weds but today i got a little extra in my food a long hair im a short hair person and when I showed the waitress she was so sorry and I didn't think no more of it when to pay for our Meal's and the manager waved my away calling it a check back so the junction THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HONESTY AND FOR LOOKING AFTER YOUR CUSTOMERS not many would own up to it see you next week it's not put me off my food or stopped me from going back 💐💐
