Reviews of Carpe Diem
Amazing sandwiches. The only reason this place is not crowded is because it’s tucked away on a side road.
A little gem of a restaurant located in Bray and only located a stones throw from the promenade and 5 minutes from the dart. If you want to experience authentic Italian cuisine you will be hard pushed to find somewhere better. A real taste of authentic Italy. It came highly recommended but with a small warning, expect it to be small and with a limited menu. My colleague then threw in how it only had about 10 seats. Its small but cozy, not what you might expect and you could certainly walk right by. BUT, and its a big one - don't let that put you off. You are here for the food and exceptional service. According to their business card they are a cafe, wine and mozzarella bar. Its more than that though. Turns out its been here for years. An Italian husband and wife. Lots of local produce. The menu is small but changes each week along with the Italian wines, a reason to come back I guess :-). Small selection of craft beer for those not a fan of wine with craft beers. Forget your Peroni's. Remember this authentic. We had a pretty amazing meat platter to start which included hand made dips, cheeses and pear. Very generous helpings. All our mains were excellent. I had fresh cavatelli in a slow cooked duck ragout. Delicious and I'm a picky eater. The other meals were equally impressive; fresh panzerotti stuffed with crab meat, with mussels and tiger prawns and 'Grigliata di pesce' which is a selection of grilled tiger prawns, seabream fillet, baby squid and salmon and mussels. All in all, just different but in a really good way. I'd imagine their lunch menu is equally as good. Looking at the paninis, well they looked delicious. You can't go wrong with a quick bite, a coffee and some Panettoni or a full meal all backed up with super friendly service. I'll be back for that meat platter for sure. 👍
Tony makes the best fresh coffee in Bray & Rebecca bakes the best Italian cakes & pastries to traditional Nepolise recipes.
The best sandwiches I've ever had for only a fiver! Very cheap too and the staff are always so nice
Excellent Italian spot with great food and friendly but not over the top service. Had the house platter which was 2 meats 2 cheeses 2 antipasti and a savoury tart. Was enough for two but had to order another portion of bread. Was offered some complimentary homemade chocolate liquor to end off as well. Always makes my day to discover such a cosy gem with good food at reasonable prices! The only thing to reconsider is the purple theme, why purple??
The best coffee in Bray, fantastic mains and panini and incredible homemade sweets 😃👍
Amazing food and the best coffee! And the owners are the sweetest people too - highly recommended!
Amazing family run place. Excellent menu, with new dishes to try every week. Top quality ingredients prepared with great attention and skill. Fabulous wine list. Great coffee. And freshly made homemade pastries and desserts. Very reasonably priced considering the overall high quality. Top marks. A true hidden gem just off the seafront in Bray.
Iv bee in this place plenty of time its small and cosy owners interact whit costumer's A to go place 😋
This place is a little gem. We had a really great dinner here, the food was delicious and they made a special effort to prepare a vegan which was equally delicious, as it happened a lot of their starters were vegan already. The staff are very friendly which gives it a real family feel, as did the homemade limoncello that was offered at the end of our meal. Highly recommend the 'dry soup' started for something a bit different. Everything was very reasonably priced too. Looking forward to coming back soon!
Love the Paninis from this place with a coffee, there is a very good deal for the panini. Highly recommend.
Cosy little Italian eatery just up of the beach in bray. Delicious pizza vegetarian made to order so ask what you would like. The tiramisu is to die for and delicious coffee. Great atmosphere with friendly staff it's great for eating alone or with friends. Fantastic selection of pastries and craft beer nice wine.

One of the best, if not the best, Italian places in Ireland. The staff are incredible, the food is mouth watering, and the atmosphere is perfect. Among my favourite coffee shops in the world, I visit it every time I'm back in Bray.
I’ve been coming here for the past few years. First for the Italian beers and wines, then for the lovely coffee, later on for pastries to lick your fingers, now for the food. Always consistent in their quality of service, food and beverages. I highly recommend.
A gem. Excellent panino Piadina and platters using top quality authentic Italian ingredients. Some main courses also and great coffees and cakes. All served by really dedicated, knowledgeable, well trained and friendly staff
My favourite Italian cafe - a little piece of Italy- run by a lovely couple. Serving authentic Italian food & delicious coffee & cakes!!!
A small but vibrant family run business. Superb self-made food at reasonable cost with friendly staff.
A little bit 9f Italy in the middle of Bray.
As patron you feel that this business is a family affair run for the joy of food and not purely for the money.
Tiny but fabulous wine & mozzarella bar. Wide range of delicious panini & panini at lunchtime - all super tasty and reasonably priced. Inventive pasta dishes change weekly and superb cheese or mixed antipasti boards. All washed down with selection of wine or great coffee. Great for lunch or for a relaxed evening out. Very authentically italian
Best spot in Bray for a gourmet panini or focaccia with super quality ingredients! Also great Italian coffee! Superb customer service!
Very authentic Italian place that offers simple Italian food at a fair price. panini and baked goods, but also some pasta, salads etc. They also offer plates, such as a cheese plate or aseafood plate, which is what I ordered. It was very tasty, except for the tiny fried fish that didn't have much taste, though dipping them in the sauces from the other dishes fixed it nicely. The mozzarella baked inside a lemon was superb, and so where the oysters in a divine creamy sauce. The desert trifle was also lovely, and the service was friendly. I will need to come back here soon, to try the other plates.
Best sandwich in brè, and also for the best price. The staff are deadly with looks to match. Never change carpe diem xx
Great value Italian coffee. Friendly service. Lovely pastries too.

Back again for my regular trip, and still gorgeous food. Never disappoints, staff just lovely. Totally recommend it!
Our favourite restaurant in Bray! Great ambience, lovely staff and excellent coffee, imaginative and great food, sweets, wine and killer prosecco by the glass...what's not to love?
The perfect spot after a walk from Greystones to Bray, just off the main strip in Bray. A cozy little nook of a restaurant with amazing food.
Food is always next level. I highly recommend coffee and a panini from the lunch menu 😋

An oasis on earth.
Nice place
It was a pleasant discovery, a small restaurant run by two super nice Italian guys, I entrusted myself to them by eating the sandwich of the day and what can I say, one of the best eaten here in Ireland. If you are in Bray I absolutely recommend this magnificent place
4 to 5 dishes varying every Friday. Very good but very uneven portions. I had enough but not everyone does. To be reserved because only 2-3 tables. My antipasti are very good and plentiful!
We went “carpe diem” for my boyfriend's birthday.
It is a small restaurant serving Italian cuisine, but with the right space for each table!
The food is very good and the waiters are polite and kind, ready to recommend the right dish for your needs!
We had a great time with Alessio!
We will be back! 😃
Lovely authentic italian place. Really good fresh ingredients at a very reasonable price. Plus staff are all super nice.
I love this Italian in Bray, it's small but they always serve you. The food is spectacular for the price and the coffee is cheap and delicious. And the wonderful staff!
In a little corner of Ireland, you can find a little heart of Italy....Carpe Diem.
Italian dishes prepared with love and imagination different from week to week but strictly with local raw materials. The imagination and goodness of the dishes, the friendliness and hospitality of the owners and staff make it a place to visit and try when you come in Ireland in Bray (Dublin).
As I write, some maltagliati with deer have arrived.... What a flavour....
Greetings to Rebecca, Tony, Elisa and Alessio.
Italian craft beers and pasta dishes to fall in love with. The tiny restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
A coffee in the afternoon with a little sweet temptation for a second visit.
Lovely corner, delicious food. The cute guy who served us is called Alessio and he is from Sardinia.
It was really fun to sit and enjoy the food and the friendliness he expressed towards us.
Thank you Alessio for great food and lovely atmosphere.
I love it, the menu often varies, quality food, very honest prices and very kind staff.
Wonderful pasta pesto with seafood! Also very nice staff.
Stunning dishes
If you are coming for a holiday, I suggest you do not leave without stopping by.
