Reviews of The Roundwood Inn
Very impressed, it was a lovely little pub. Old style, very traditional with a few modern beers added to the selection. The service was very friendly, great bar staff.
We had some lunch but kept it simple with some sandwiches and soups. Extremely fresh bread and the fish soup was tasty. The menu is very interesting and has some options that you wouldn't normally see in an Irish bar, it is quite limited for vegetarian eaters though. The specials board had a huge amount of seafood specials, including a couple of lobster varieties
Great experience all round, will definitely be back over the weekend.
Wonderful & cosy spot. Staff are consistently professional, friendly and attentive. Brilliant menu- in a league of it's own. Top quality food, relaxed atmosphere in a lovely village in the Wicklow hills! What more would you want!
Lovely staff and food, nice fire going to keep warm from the outdoor cold and cozy atmosphere.
Lovely home made food, to a very high standard. Staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Their fish soup is excellent and the bisque is decadent. Excellent spot for food or a pint after a walk. Can't wait to return.
Super cozy restaurant with a lovely fireplace. Very tasty food and friendly staff.
Traditional pub. Nice pint of Guinness. Chowder OK.
Simply Lovely, very good food, especially Goulash soup, steaks, fish and fresh high quality desserts, John the Bar Manager and his team make this a cozy professional place to visit, ring and book during covid
We arrived in roundwood at about 7pm after running a long section of the Wicklow way. The Roundwood Inn made us feel so welcome and really looked after us, we had some really nice food (roast chicken, chips, veg, gravy) and a few EXCELLENT pints of Guinness!! The waitress was really friendly and genuine and John and Helen both gave us a really warm welcome and looked after us. A beautiful bar too in a beautiful little village. Try the Guinness, a really good pint! Thanks to all for the great experience. Dave and Conor.
Lovely coffee and deserts. All staff wearing masks and sanitizer in use. Our contact details were taken. Would recommend this place for a quick bite.
I liked the fireplace in the restaurant. Food was good but service was very delayed maybe due to shortage of staff.
Brilliant take away from Roundwood Inn. Star rating to Chicken and Chips in basket. Always consistent.
Great food and hospitality and fantastic to see the old tradition kept .
Food good, but more of a 80,s feel. Menu has to be modernised to meet modern tastes and standards.
Very accommodating staff and lovely food. Slightly cold.
Always a pleasure to visit. Food and drink delicious.
Great place to dinero and get a pint of Guinness. I recommended it 100%!!
It was fantastic, the Chouder Soup and the Seafood platter was fantastic. You would never get a bad meal in the Inn!!
We are regulars for good reason. Friendly welcoming local pub. We took some friends today, nothing but praise for the home cooked delicious food and warm welcome. Just what a local country pub should be.
Amazing traditional food, an a fantastic selection of fresh seafood. The decor is very traditional, right down to the large open fire.
Whilst the menu doesn’t offer a kids option or a vegetarian option, a quick chat with any member of staff will sort that out!
The pub is cosy and well stocked and serves an amazing pint of Guinness, so definitely worth a visit!
Way to stick to the seafood idea! Plenty of different options and good service. Perfect spot for a post vartry walk pint and meal
Food is really good, service is nice and prompt, a bit pricey. But guys who complain here - drive to Dublin and try to find something similar (quality and atmosphere), you will be surprised by the lack of such places. Excellent spot to have a break after a long driving day in mountains outside of busy boring city.
Visited with 2 young kids after our trip to Glendalough. The food was nice enough but no kids menu. Prices a bit on the high end. No high chairs. Average experience and not going back.
Traditional Inn with b&b rooms, public bar & dining room with open fire. Blackboard specials with filet steak, Goulash, & lots of fish dishes. Chips/potato Salad/vegetable options. Mains from 12 to 25 euro.
Great location. Great steak. Very good Guinness too. Oysters, lobster and Goulash on the menu, but we had steak.
Great staff and food. The vegetarian curry was delicious after a long hike.
Wonderful place. Tasty meals, big portions. Friendly staff. Highly recommend!!! 😍
A genuinely lovely place to end up in after a days walk in the hills.
Great spot for a post hike meal. Warm fire and hearty goulash.
Clean and lovely food,
Favourite pub in roundwood, the bar menu is perfect for after a hike. The restaurant offers upmarket food which is great. A reservation is advised for the restaurant
Wonderful seafood especially oysters and tiger prawns. Always a good ambiance, eat at the bar if you can especially on a Saturday lunchtime
Best place to eat in Wicklow. Thank you John and Michael for yet another wonderful experience.
First time here and the ambience was superb and cannot fault it one bit. The staff were ever so helpful and courteous at all times.
Disappointing. I brought tourists. A but manky. Service not great. Stew was nice. Toilets dingy. Not suitable for kids. Overpriced for what you get.
Great food, friendly service, restaurant side gets a bit smokey with the open fire
This is a MUST if you are driving through Wicklow! Please do yourself a favor and stop in for dinner. Best food in the area, and the warm atmosphere is truly welcoming.
My favourite place for a pint of Guinness or two in the snug with a lobster bisque.. sensational 👍
Great place to visit after a tiring day. I like the food, decoration and especially the fire place. It seemed pretty local.
Great pub ,bar food is really good. Highly recommended
Cosy place, nice cakes. Amazing roast chicken in a basket. Great-tasting Guinness.
Lovely warm setting with fire. Very attentive service. On main street in roundwood so easy to get into.
A traditional favourite run to exacting family standards a favourite for excellent Guinness and superb food options casual and more formal. A Gem of outstanding consistency and good taste.

Lobster in a thousand ways, in one of those places you would probably never enter and in fact we went there because it was recommended. Then you eat and wonder why the owners don't value it.
LOCATION: anonymous. Counter, sports-only TV, dart board and a small room with a few tables.
MENU: mainly soups, main course of meat (lamb) and fish. However, lobster reigns supreme: bisque, cocktails, Catalan style. Refer mainly to the menu written on the blackboard rather than the paper one, they are the dishes of the day and the best.
PRICE: 2 soups and a lobster: €50, good!
The pub that doesn't look like much but is excellent! Lovely staff
Very cozy, the fire was even burning :) very friendly service!
Super nice restaurant. Food was very good and inexpensive. We were also kindly helped out with the bus timetable, as we had a bit of a problem with it.
Super friendly service. Enjoy your meal. Good value for money.
Impeccable service, copious and very good dishes!
Great place to have a guiness, cider or eat!
